Aztek tacos had good flavor or and really good chips. Visited during lunch on a weekend and it was quite busy, line went quickly and we found seats easily. Salsa bar was open for customers, I really liked their mild it's was fresh and had good flavor, little heat, imo. Our food came out quickly and arrived hot! Ordered: chili rellano and, Cali burrito and 2-kid meals. Their chips were fresh and hot, lightly salted and really good. I'd come back just for these. Chili rellano burrito was good and had a nice flavor, the rellano was cheesy and tasty. Cali was good, had sour cream in it and their meat had a nice char on it, per the other half. Kiddos loved their rice & beans and tacos. A good place to keep in mind when we visit out this way again. Good Mexican food is hard to come by especially the chips! Added a new place to my bookmarks. I had high hopes for Aztek Tacos, but unfortunately, it didn't live up to expectations. I ordered an asada burrito, which was decent, but I had to add rice, bringing the total cost to over $15--way too pricey for what it was. The tacos were okay, but nothing stood out flavor-wise, so I wouldn't call them impressive. The biggest disappointment was the chicken quesadilla. It was dry, lacked flavor, and cost nearly $16--definitely not worth it. On top of that, they serve hot food in Styrofoam containers for orders to go, which makes me uneasy. My fish taco was so hot it actually melted the container. For the price, I'd rather go to Chipotle. That alone says a lot about the quality-to-cost ratio here. read more

I got a California burrito and I was a little disappointed about the meat, something about it was missing flavor. Or maybe it was just the entire burrito. Maybe I'm just used to my local taco shop. I also tried their baja style fish taco which was just okay, the sauce was a lil tangy and interesting. I was glad I asked for it on the side. Going to this Restertaunt was definitely worth going to Overall. I ordered the California Burrito, which was the best thing I've had there, although it is pricey, but they're burritos were really big, and the meat in the burrito was also tender/fresh, which was the same for the other food my family has got. The Service is also excellent as they bring the food to you, also really nice staff. When looking on the inside is a pretty small area, but having a small amount of people in a room, but on the outside has some outdoor seats and tables if the restaurant is full outside. Best taco spot in Temecula that I've tried so far hands down. I haven't tried their tortas or pozole yet but I intend to next time I visit. Simple quick service restaurant where you order at the counter, take a number and have a seat. This used to be my tried and true for quick mexican food in Temecula. The past few visits I have noteably noticed a decline in experience and in food. Today, after $58 lunch for myself, my husband, and our toddler we will not be giving our business anymore. It's always been Insane to me that their carne asada burritos are at the price point they're at and only include meat, not rice and beans. Today, we asked if they had a kids bean and cheese burrito for my son, the lady at the register just responded "no" without offering any alternative, so instead we ordered a quesadilla that was very very small for the price point. We also ordered the beef taquitos, instead realized at home we were given chicken. Chicken was very bland and dry. Taquitos much like everything else lacked seasoning and flavor. We recently moved back to Temecula from Virginia, where carne asada burritos are practically non-existent. As a SoCal girl, trust me when I say those 5 years were bleak. I missed these taco shops where I had access to them 24/7. Let's start with the food. The food is 5 stars. Everything you have heard about their Carne asada is true. So good. Not tough at all. Tender. No gristle and perfectly spiced. Now I have had a burrito bowl in many places and it has always been rice instead of a tortilla. Well when I got my (albeit delicious) food, there was no rice. Just a pile of steak and shrimp. So I went to the front and said I ordered it as a bowl. They said yeah, I brought it to you in a plate. I asked about the rice and they said I didn't order the rice. Then they proceeded to charge me $5 more dollars for the rice. It wasn't the money. It was how they handled it. Like I was trying to con them out of rice. I was told that next time I should order it "no tortilla, rice instead." What would have been epic service would have been if they said, no problem, we will get you the rice this time but next time, order it this way. Recently moved here from San Diego, came across Aztek Tacos and this place is pretty solid. My usual is the adobada tacos and carne asada. My daughter really likes their California burritos ( a bit pricey) from where I'm from tho. Their tortillas are what stands out to me. I can't remember the last time I've seen so many reminders in one taco shop that they also cater: it is plastered on their vans outside the shop, mentioned on signs in and out of the shop, and on the menu. Yes, I get it already, you cater! Apparently to prisons, judging by the food! My mid-day lunch here was disappointing, to put it mildly. It began with a "too long" seven minute wait in line despite only two people ahead of me. You would think they were trying to close a house with the woman in front of me, but nah... just a carne asada burrito. One guy in line gave up and left in frustration. I should have too. After I put my order in, I tried to use their men's restroom but the light didn't work and they were totally aware that the light didn't work because one of the guys who worked here told me it didn't work. Gee, how many taqueros does it take to change a lightbulb? I needed to use my iPhone in flashlight mode and use my remaining hand to relieve myself, typically a two-handed job. The "Al Pastor Quesataco" is one of the worst tacos I ate during my #SummerOfTastyTacos. The pork was seemingly spoiled, wrapped in crunchy cheese that tasted burnt, and they chose to not add any onions or cilantro despite neither being available at the salsa bar. Awful. They use a trompo for their al pastor pork here, but it still sucks. The meat miraculously picks up no color. And, again, it tasted like it was way past its sell-by date. Hoping for better from the eponymous "Aztek Taco," I was again disappointed. It was nowhere near as heinous as the Al Pastor Quesataco, but you'd be hard-pressed to find a blander taco with crappier underseasoned carne asada smeared with pasty guacamole. They throw some cactus in there too, but it's not enough. The lame salsa guerita labeled "hot" from the salsa bar helped nothing. I hate to write reviews like this, but this place needs to stop serving slop, figure out how to streamline their ordering process, and learn how to change a friggin' light bulb in their restroom.
