I gave this place another try today and really enjoyed the food this time around. I ordered the Southwest Bowl with steak and absolutely loved it. The steak was really well seasoned and almost reminded me of shawarma. The veggies included corn, beans, and lettuce and were all very fresh and flavorful. I'm not totally sure what the sauce was but it tasted like a cilantro lime crema type of sauce, and it really hit the spot. The only thing that took away from the meal was the greasiness of the meat. For dessert, I ordered the churro bites. The customer service was stellar, as they included both dipping sauces (chocolate and caramel) in my order to try. I came up to peruse the Promenade in Temecula and decided to eat at Rebel Tacos. What a T~Mex treat found right in the Malls' food court! The Carne Assada Fries were fully loaded and delicious. The Quesa~Birria Tacos are fantastic. They definitely didn't skimp on the meat. Birria tacos are my newest vice when it comes to Tacos and I try and get them at any taco place that makes them. Everything was in generous proportions! The prices are reasonable and I left feeling very full. You have a few sauces options to try as well. The green sauce and guac one was my favorite. The staffers at the counter were very friendly and they'll give you a number to for you to remember and then will call you when your order is ready. Everything looked clean and tidy...even the communal dining area and surrounding tables. And it was pretty busy right after all the nearby kids got out of school. So the cleanliness was pretty impressive. Whenever I battle traffic times to come up this way it is usually to get something to eat and then take a walk at the lake. I was invited to an elite event, but missed it by one day. I still decided to give the restaurant a try located in the promenade mall within the food court, which is on the east side of the mall. I ordered a rebel bowl with Asada. Service was prompt And the wait was short. Raymond was helpful describing their menu and in his opinion, what meats were the best to give a try for the first time. His recommendation was Asada. I also tried both their green, mild and red hot sauce. For the $13 price including tax, it's a decent meal definitely on the healthy side. Located in the food court inside the mall. We tried the carnitas quesadilla and carnitas burrito. The portion is very generous. The quesadilla came with 4 huge cuts of triangle goodness. The tortilla were grilled perfectly with that crunch on the outside and the melted cheese and carnitas inside. The carnitas burrito is so good! The ratio of rice to meat is perfect! I would have asked if it could be cut in half, just to make it easier to eat. But both are delicious. We also tried the watermelon lemonade, so refreshing! Beware. The following review is my opinion based on the services I received. Amazing lunch today here at rebel tacos. I had the fried beef tacos combo. They call them hardshell tacos but there's no shell. The tortilla is either fried or it's not. Anyway, tortilla was nice and crisp with an abundant amount of slow cooked shredded beef. Beef had very good flavor and was slow cooked to perfection. Not dry at all. The toppings were very good also. The right amount of sour cream lettuce topped with a copious amount of cheese that partially melted in the hot ingredients. Leaving just enough unmelted to enjoy also. The salsa had good flavor with good heat. Had the spicy. Warning, it's a bit warm for those who don't do spicy. Opt for the medium. Couldn't finish the rice and beans. The rice tasted ok. It was normal, not the home made taste and texture I like. The beans were good. The staff was super friendly and had great customer service.
