I've been going to Los Compadres for over 15 years, we all have heard this quote. "You get screwed when you drive through the drive thru" back in the day from a movie quote. Now we have all these delivery services that pick up our orders. The pick up service companies don't know what the menu reads for these establishments. After the food has been dropped off, we open the bags of food and notice it's not the same as what we ordered online. I am not upset with the delivery service because they don't know. I called Los Compadres, told them what happened and their front desk girl told me right off the bat that they switched the wing count from 12 to 8. I told her that is not what your menu says, told her that is false advertising and they should take it down, her response wasn't pleasant. Their are 3-4 Mexican restaurants within a mile of Los Compadres, not sure I will be going anytime soon back to LC. read more

Ordered for pickup and paid through the toast all, everyone working (one New Year's Day) that I encountered was so friendly and in a great mood. This was our first time trying this restaurant. We moved here 6 years ago from San Diego so we have been searching for a GOOD Mexican restaurant. We finally found it! I have to admit, we ordered "take out" and placed the order online on their website. So easy & efficient . Their menu is extensive and we had a difficult time choosing but my husband ordered the chicken chimichanga plate (it came with rice and beans). I ordered the "El Toro" which was a combo of an enchilada (you choose) and your choice of a taco. Served with rice and beans. They included with our order a bag of chips and salsa. Came here for a Saturday afternoon drink and snack with a friend. This is nestled in a cute shopping area. The inside is very nicely decorated, I felt very comfortable. We weren't rushed and the service was great. They have a lot of food options that i am dying to come back and try. Everything is very reasonably priced, especially when compared to some of the other Mexican places around. The guacamole was a good portion for the small and delicious and fresh. It had big chunks of avocado and was citrusy. They provide you with a mild and hot salsa. Both are pretty good, a little too runny in my opinion. The margaritas were delicious and served in a cute glass. Overall, great experience and I'm looking forward to getting some Chile rellenos for dinner from there soon! read more

I don't like to revert to leaving reviews like this but I'm rarely in your part of town as much as I used to be. This is the second time, in a row, that I've been let down by what's ordered. The first was a little over a month ago when I ordered the cheese dip with FRESH jalapeños, as shown on the menu, and pickled ones were in the cheese dip. When I placed my order tonight, I specifically said to the hostess, "no sour cream whatsoever." I don't like it even if it's in a side package. When the order arrived, I didn't open it because I had entrusted the hostess, 'Night H.', to make sure my order was placed the way I had ordered. As you can see from the enclosed photos, I still tipped close to $3 without having seen anything. I left the event I was at, trivia night next door at Beer NV, and came home for a snack. Low and behold, there's sour cream. I don't have expectations when ordering from places as that creates disappointment when orders aren't met but I can safely say that tonight, I was incredibly disappointed when opening the container with the guacamole. Call me a 'male Karen' or a 'Chad' but when an order is placed, with specific instruction and it's not met, this is not on me. Your food is consistently delicious which explains three stars but I will not be spending my money with you or wearing the zip-up New Era hoodie I purchased from you a year and a half ago, for quite some time. I've lived in the area for almost 10 years and this has been our neighborhood Mexican restaurant. Many an occasion have been spent at this restaurant, margaritas and big tables full of friends make up many fond memories. Of course we can't have those experiences now but we can bring home the fun with takeout or delivery via FoodJets or Doordash. Their carnitas are delicious, and the portion incredibly generous. Their guac is fresh and lively with a kick of citrus, and I really love their enchiladas suizas too. This is by far my favorite lunch date spot. I usually get the chile rellenos but this time my wife and opted to share the steak and shrimp fajitas. Both are excellent choices. And of course I can't go without having my margarita on the rocks! They taste fresh not like a mix. Chips and tortillas are tasty. Salsa is more saucy which is not my favorite but that doesn't stop me. The interior is vibrant and clean. They have great lunch specials. My husband and I have been eating at Los Compadres a lot lately. Their service is just too great to go anywhere else! Everyone is so nice, we're seated quick. And the last time we went we had sat down, ordered, and had our food within 15 minutes of arriving! It was wonderful! I typically order shredded beef enchiladas. They don't skimp on the meat and fill them up full, you don't feel like it's all tortilla! Then I always have a side of beans. Out of 6 burritos with various fillings.. 2 went back. The 2 returned freshly made.. yay.. um no. Cold again and missing ingredients inside. The rest of the table has eaten by now.. suck it up and eat the food. We kindly let the server know about the 2nd course.. Bill time.. yep charged for cold food.. and added on some extras. We love going here for lunch dates during the week as the service is friendly and quick and the lunch specials are decent. It's located within the Southcreek plaza on the corner of Virginia and South Meadows. The rice and beans that accompany most dishes are really good, especially the ooey gooey cheese on the beans...they do not skimp on the cheese on an meal I have had which I truly appreciate! This time I tried the two carnitas taco special. It comes with the rice, beans, and two simple but juicy and plump tacos. The meat was juicy and the toppings of onion and cilantro were a good balance. It also came with a side of salsa verde (green sauce) which was nice on the tacos. The only thing that doesn't do much for me is their chips and salsa. Upon arrival you are brought a bowl of chips and salsa, as per usual at most Mexican restaurants. However , their salsa tastes, and has the consistency of, an enchilada sauce more than a chunky or thicker version I am used to. It doesn't taste bad, I definitely eat my fill while I'm waiting for my food, it's just not my favourite. Get the shredded beef burrito, you can't finish it! Beautiful soft mildly flavorful shredded happiness wrapped in a cherubs soft burrito skin smothered in red sauce and cheese! The shrimp taco plate is packed with 8 shrimp in each of the 2 soft tacos. I noticed the salsas with chips which were offered as openers were pretty mild for ME. I asked my server for jalapenos. He offered plain, vinegar or charred. I opted for the vinegar. It gave my forkfulls the power it needed giving my compadre the relaxing coolness of a mild Mexican dinner. Had the black cadillac margarita on the rocks. It was like a smokey-whiskey inspired Margarita that packed a wonderful punch! Again, its a mild toned down but flavorful packed meal that you can ask to easily kick up a notch.
