Los Compadres Taqueria is a wonderful restaurant. The atmosphere is diner-esque and intimate, there are about six tables set up total, but it isn't too noisy or crowded. The service was not only prime, but also fun and entertaining. Joking around with the waitress was one of the highlights. As for the food, it was all delicious. The refried beans tasted great, and so did the chimichanga I ordered, the spicy enchilada sauce was flavorful and not TOO spicy. They also serve the best mole I've had in a long time. THAT SALSA WAS AMAZING TOO. I love it here. This deserves all five stars. read more

My husband and I rely on Yelp when we are traveling and it has rarely let us down. Los Compadres is a wonderful little place to have a great meal at very reasonable prices. The special that evening was fresh crab enchiladas and they we're stuffed full of delicious, sweet crab with a side of yummy rice and beans. I was pretty encouraged by the reviews prior to eating here for the first time, but after having to ask for menus, having to ask someone to take our order, having to ask for napkins, and then ask for silverware after the food arrived, let's just say I was hoping that the food was going to make up for it. I was wrong. So so food and a three dollar dollop of guacamole that they sell at Costco in a plastic bag later, everyone at our table was pretty disappointed, including the person that paid for the cheese quesadilla, which was made solely of cheese, and a tortilla, and cost $8.50. Consistently one of the best restaurants in Florence. This is a tiny, family-run, place that cares about their customers and their food. Their prices are VERY reasonable for the quality and amount of food they serve. A quick chat with the host (who is also the owner, waiter, busser, bartender, and cashier) revealed that most of the recipes are family recipes with a few modifications thrown in here and there. We hit this place up for lunch or dinner every time we come to the coast and we leave feeling like we have just visited an old friend. read more

I am super picky when it comes to Mexican food. Los compadres luckily met my standards. I got the enchiladas de jaiva (crab) and ate every last bit. Great little Mexican restaurant. The waitress was super sweet and very attentive to my kids. My son had carne asada tacos and there was nothing left on his plate. Margaritas are delicious and generous. Chili verde deliciously tender and lean. Crab enchildas generous and you'll enjoy them even if you don't typically like to mix your seafood and Mexican food. We are in town for two weeks and Los Comprades was recommended by a local. It's a little hole in the wall place that serves some of the best Mexican food we've had anywhere in the country. My wife's tamale and chili relleno combination plate was huge and delicious, and my crab enchiladas were worth a trip to the coast all by themselves. I am 15 and my mom has been bringing me here since I was a baby. They always remember us and know what I will get (carne asada) the place looks run down but don't let that stop you! If there was zero rating available that's what I would've rated it. We walked in and sat at a table and waited, and waited for about 10 minutes as she had a personal conversation with a friend at the counter. My husband finally asked if she could get us water, she continued her conversation and started cleaning, then went to the back and brought out three waters for 4 of us. When my brother-in-law requested an additional class she appeared irritated, came back and slam the water glass on the table and didn't even make eye contact. We waited a total of 15 minutes without even getting a drink order so we all walked out. Btw there were only two other customers. Don't go there. read more

The waitress was having a conversation with a person that she must've known at the cash register. She was asking in Spanish how her kids were etc. She walked back and got us some chips put it on the table and walked away. There was 4 of us and we asked her could we please get some water. She brought three waters sat them down hard and the water splashed out of them no comment from her and she never did bring another water we had to ask for that. She continued to clean the other tables without acknowledging us. We waited a few more minutes and told her we're leaving she said Por Que? and we said we been here for 20 minutes and no service. Since we have moved to the oregon coast finding good places to eat is hard but this is definitely one of those good places. Great Mexican food!! I had the chicken fajitas (not on the menu) they were simply delicious! My sister had the crab enchiladas and left nothing on her plate! The street tacos were fantastic. The beans were a little different than other Mexican restaurants, they stand out above the rest. The service was wonderful. Quick and efficient. Not in your face just take your order and bring you your order with a friendly smile. The only negative things I have to say are this, the chips and salsa were nothing to write home about. I don't like chunky salsa but I do like a little something more than sauce which is what this was. Sauce tasted great just didn't love it on chips. Also it is very small, with my crew of kids at tables and at the counter I felt like we were in the way. But again the service was wonderful and the food fantastic! read more

I used to eat here. I was treated very rudely today when i asked for a to go cup of tap water by the skinny weird looking daughter. Dirty looks by her after having to practically beg for water to her mother. I wont eat anywhere they wont give you water to go in a cup. They try to make you pay for their bottled water which i refuse to pay for. $1.50 for a small bottle of water. Rip off. And the food quality has declined along with portions while prices are high. Don't go here. Florence is known for rude customer service at most establishments i just don't know why or how they expect to keep their customers with this kind of atmosphere read more
