My husband and I came here to eat after reading a yelp review that sounded amazing and we were NOT disappointed! The service was amazing, and the food was absolutely delicious. Everything was very fresh and tasty. I got the veggie enchiladas and listen Im from Ca and I have eaten A LOT of enchiladas but these were hands down the best I ever had. I'm not a vegan or vegetarian but i did not miss having meat at all. They were filled with Spinach, squash, bell peppers, onions and mushrooms and topped with the most delicious white sauce i have ever tasted. I cannot recommend this place enough truly!

If I could give this place more than five stars, I would. We're from Southern California and have had our fair share of incredible Mexican food, but this was hands down the BEST we've ever had. From the moment we sat down, we knew we were in for something special!! They start you off with warm chips, fresh homemade salsa, and a side of beans -- and honestly, that alone was a great sign. Everything tasted so fresh and flavorful. I ordered the chilaquiles, which are my absolute favorite dish, and these were THE BEST I've ever had. Perfectly crispy chips, in just the best house made green salsa & topped with crema and cheese -- absolute perfection. We also had an enchilada with mole, and wow... the mole was incredible. The rice was also insane -- full of flavor and perfectly cooked -- and I'm usually not a beans person, but even their refried beans were amazing. You can tell this is a family-owned restaurant. The people here are so sweet and genuinely care about their food and their customers. The service was warm, attentive, and welcoming from start to finish. We will absolutely be back -- this is officially one of our new favorite spots. If you're in the area, don't miss this place.

If you haven't been here yet, you HAVE TO GO!!!! This place is fantastic. I got the crab enchiladas and my mother got their beef enchilada special. Their salsa is super authentic, I can tell everything is homemade, I am in HEAVEN. The server is really kind, if I lived here I would come here all the time!!

Good Mexican food in this family owned business in Florence. Venny's Cafe offers plentiful portions for breakfast, lunch, and dinner daily except on Wednesdays when it is closed. Service is friendly and attentive. I ordered the Poblano Chile Relleno plate. Although I am used to a relleno with Hatch or Pueblo green chilis, poblano chilis are more readily available in this area and the coating on the relleno was a perfect fluffy soft egg batter like I prefer. The beans and rice on the side were traditional Mexican sides with no frills but prepared with care.

We've been in the area for several years, but we never knew this was a Mexican restaurant until one of our neighbors recommended it. We really like it, enjoy the food, ambiance, and welcoming atmosphere. The service is great, and the place is super clean!

From the minute you enter the restaurant, you know this is family run. Second, when you see all the locals whom the staff know by name you know this is something special This restaurant is the perfect blend of American and Mexican cultural foods, and they do both extremely well. I had their menudo, and they asked me if I wanted the beef bone in it. All I can say is, when I had a vision of how menudo should taste, this was completely it. If you are in Florence, and you are not finding what you want, please give this place a try. This is one of those pleasant surprises that will make you want to come back

Food was excellent. I've found the spot for great Mexican food in Florence. I'll try their American fair next time.

While on the coast, we stopped into Venny's 101 Cafe for lunch, and we are so glad we did. It's a bit of an odd combo, but they serve breakfast classics with Mexican staples. I had the carne asada street tacos - which were so good! Get the red sauce for sure. The boys each got a burrito what was beautifully presented. He got Pollo de Crema and loved it. And she got the eggs Benedict. The hollandaise was great, thought the home fries were a little over done. We will definitely keep this place in mind next time we are in town. The building doesn't look like much from the outside, but it is nice on the inside. A little worn down but well kept. The staff is friendly and hard working. The food comes out fairly quickly and hot. This place does have a pretty well stocked bar, but you do have to request a drink menu.

The place has been around since the 70s, and you can really feel that classic charm the moment you walk in. From the vintage-style décor to the bright, fun atmosphere, it's got that nostalgic ice cream parlor vibe that's getting harder to find. The ice cream itself was fantastic--homemade and full of flavor, with a great variety to choose from. Everyone found something they loved. Finley went with a chocolate shake that hit the spot, Callum had a Rocky Road junior scoop, LaRue enjoyed the salted caramel, Emma went all in with a hot fudge sundae, and I had the blackberry cheesecake ice cream--which was incredible and definitely one I'd get again. Service was friendly and easygoing, and the prices were very reasonable for the quality and portion sizes. It's not trying to be fancy--just a great, classic spot to grab a sweet treat and enjoy the experience. If you're in the area and want something fun, nostalgic, and genuinely good, this place is absolutely worth a stop.

We were greeted immediately and took our time looking at the flavors to decide what we wanted. I got a single cup with chocolate cheesecake and dulce de leche ice cream. My friend got a milkshake with plain chocolate ice cream. The dulce de leche was so good! The caramel ribbons were delicious and it was so creamy. The chocolate cheesecake flavor was alright, it tasted a little fake, almost like it was sugar-free. My friend said the milkshake was good and that it had the texture of a Wendy's Frosty. The staff were friendly and chatty with each other. They seemed knowledgeable about their flavors and were happy to give out up to three free samples. I didn't see a bathroom, but the Vinnie's down the street has a public uncoded bathroom. I would definitely come back here just for the dulce de leche ice cream. It's worth a trip!

With a storm blowing in we were craving some clam chowder. Homegrown did satisfy that craving! Unfortunately, service was a little slow because there was only one waiter. Luckily, we were in no rush. Appearance - The warm string lights created a nice, cozy vibe. (Maybe the rained helped too!) Overall, the food was plated well. Taste- Garlic Parmesan fries- mmm so delicious with a yummy aioli to dip them in! Would highly recommend! Caution if you're sensitive to garlic... be aware that the parmesan can easily be mistaken for garlic chunks! Steamers- My husband got this and said it was very fresh and he enjoyed the broth. I tried it but I'm not a huge wine person and to me the broth was very heavy wine flavored. Fried Fish Cod Sandwich- Unfortunately I learned on this outing that I don't really love cod. The fish on this sandwich was not very meaty.
