I have to say this trip all the food was so good everywhere we ate. We met some friends here and the staff. I don't know if she was the owner, but she was amazing super super nice and friendly and funny and the staff all were smiling such a neat vibe I got the Huevos Divorciados Two corn tortillas topped with two eggs, our special red and green sauce and served with rice and beans was also served with choice of flour tortillas or corn on the side I had the flour and they tasted like like they made them there . I got the sauce on the side because I wasn't sure as far as onion taste but it was cooked and she made it . delicious and then my husband wanted to try some salsa and they were so kind they brought out I think probably four or five different salsa. My husband got the steak hashbrowns eggs breakfast but he wanted to try some the salsa on his eggs. He really enjoyed his breakfast and then our friends got a ham and cheese omelette and he really enjoyed it and said it was eggs were perfect and then our other friend got the biscuits and gravy breakfast. The gravy looked so fresh and just perfect consistency. She also really enjoyed her breakfast. She ate it all iced tea was great. Some locals would have you believing this place is just Okay, or Mediocre at best, but I'm here to squander all of your beliefs. Venny's is amazing. You get complementary chips, salsa, and bean dip which is already a win when you're looking for a place to sit down and enjoy a nice talk and lunch. My only warning, don't trust your own judgements. Ask what you think would be best for you to order. The owner is absolutely amazing and she'll tell you what you will like for you lol. The first time we went in, we sat down and my partner couldn't make up his mind, she practically ordered for him, and ever since then, we've both ordered the same thing. We stopped in here based on Yelp ratings. They bring out chips and salsa which is a good sign. Chip were decent and salsa was a 7 on 1-10 scale. The food overall is 3.8 on 1-5 scale. We ordered the Carnitas plate and Chicken Mole (Red). The carnitas was a solid 7.5. I was raised in SoCal, and have traveled to Baja and throughout Mexico my entire life (family owned home in Ensenada) so my taste for (authentic) Mexican food is very tuned. I am more of a dark (chocolate) based mole person. This mole dish was too watery, and not seasoned very well. The chicken was small pieces and you could tell they were saving money buying low quality. I prefer full breast (organic). I should have asked before ordering. The chicken was inedible - imo. The service was fine. Their fresh made Horchata was excellent. Pluses and minuses for our experience here. read more

I had the Enchiladas with mole sauce and I thought it was delicious. I was a little hesitant to try it having had mole sauce only once before at a different Mexican restaurant and I wasn't impressed. But always hearing about how great mole sauce was I wanted to give it another try. I guess it's all in the preparation and authenticity. This sauce I felt must be the real deal. It was spicy but not hot, just delicious with a hint of chocolate but not overpowering or too sweet. The flavor was there but just there to let you taste it with each bite. If I could give this place more than five stars, I would. We're from Southern California and have had our fair share of incredible Mexican food, but this was hands down the BEST we've ever had. From the moment we sat down, we knew we were in for something special!! They start you off with warm chips, fresh homemade salsa, and a side of beans -- and honestly, that alone was a great sign. Everything tasted so fresh and flavorful. I ordered the chilaquiles, which are my absolute favorite dish, and these were THE BEST I've ever had. Perfectly crispy chips, in just the best house made green salsa & topped with crema and cheese -- absolute perfection. We also had an enchilada with mole, and wow... the mole was incredible. The rice was also insane -- full of flavor and perfectly cooked -- and I'm usually not a beans person, but even their refried beans were amazing. You can tell this is a family-owned restaurant. The people here are so sweet and genuinely care about their food and their customers. The service was warm, attentive, and welcoming from start to finish. Good Mexican food in this family owned business in Florence. Venny's Cafe offers plentiful portions for breakfast, lunch, and dinner daily except on Wednesdays when it is closed. Service is friendly and attentive. I ordered the Poblano Chile Relleno plate. Although I am used to a relleno with Hatch or Pueblo green chilis, poblano chilis are more readily available in this area and the coating on the relleno was a perfect fluffy soft egg batter like I prefer. Venny's food is great; I particularly enjoy their vegetarian omelette that has a creamy white basil sauce on top. I'm not vegetarian, but it is so good! Their fajitas are outstanding and generously portioned. What I like best about Venny's is that they are always friendly and welcoming. That is worth a great deal in a town like Florence where some of our restaurants take customers for granted. While on the coast, we stopped into Venny's 101 Cafe for lunch, and we are so glad we did. It's a bit of an odd combo, but they serve breakfast classics with Mexican staples. I had the carne asada street tacos - which were so good! Get the red sauce for sure. The boys each got a burrito what was beautifully presented. He got Pollo de Crema and loved it. And she got the eggs Benedict. The hollandaise was great, thought the home fries were a little over done. We will definitely keep this place in mind next time we are in town. The building doesn't look like much from the outside, but it is nice on the inside. A little worn down but well kept. The staff is friendly and hard working. The food comes out fairly quickly and hot. This place does have a pretty well stocked bar, but you do have to request a drink menu. read more

I miss these when some trendier New Mexican restaurants want to charge $6 extra for chips and salsa. We ordered a lunch special w an enchilada and a tostada. Quite tasty - the beef in the enchilada was flavorful and tender the tostada was beautiful and tasted fresh. In Florence check out this cute mom and pop restaurant. We tried Vinny's over a year ago and for some reason we were not that impressed. However just recently we tried again and found it excellent to the point of over eating! Warm chips and great salsa served with a little refried beans for the dipping. Tasty, well seasoned, ground beef enchilada with really great sauce. Chicken crispy taco that tasted fresh and likewise well seasoned. My husband had carnitas enchiladas and tostada, both of which he found excellent. The old school enchilada sauce is much appreciated. Refried beans are my first measure of a Mexican restaurant and Vinny's are pretty perfect. The rice was also delicious. Service couldn't have been better. We will be back! read more
