I've used this business several times and have never been disappointed. It's located behind the Arco, at the west end of the work bays. They work quick, and the prices are reasonable. There is a place to sit and wait while they work on your car, but by the time you get comfortable, your car will probably be done. They wore masks and asked people to social distance while waiting. Again, they work so fast that there aren't too many people waiting outside. They do ask you to wait in your car if they are currently smogging another car. I will continue to use this business-they are reasonable and quick. After getting a smog check you can go to the Rosemead DMV to renew your registration via kiosk (never a wait) -if they submitted your info the sticker and registration card will print right there. If not, they will mail it to your address.

Friendly service and fast! And all at a reasonable price! It's a small location connected to the same building as RPM Auto. Tony was nice and cheerful and when I had a question about maintaining my car he didn't talk down to me (the way other car guys might when talking to an unassuming girl like me) but took the time to explain to me how to upkeep the car for the future. Plus they've got icicle lights hanging above the office door and a decorative fountain. So, you know, the place has flair. read more

Thought I would come in at a convenient time a little after lunch time, but it wasn't for the owner. Since everybody comes during lunch time, I brought my car in right after the rush and stopped the owner from eating lunch, but the owner didn't push me away because he was hungry and couldn't take lunch. Customer service is absolutely great. Very friendly and felt comfortable like I'm at a relatives auto shop. The smog test was literally 10mins and I was out within 15mins. They don't take Amex, but take visa and mastercard. I would recommend this place to my co-workers and friends in the area! read more

The nicest people! It was definitely a family owned and operated establishment. They even offered me a slice of pizza when I arrived. It was very quick and I cannot stress this enough, super friendly! I didn't see the deal for $40 when you checked in until now, but I don't even mind the extra $5 because I love supporting an awesome family business. read more

I have come here before years ago when I owned a Saturn and they still have the best service I've seen. It is family-owned and they are very sweet people. The address says it's on Longden but it's best to turn on Peck because it's behind Arco. I recommend this place whether you need test only or not. read more

Came here to have my car do a smog check/test. When I arrived to the area I see a car was ahead of me, but the owner was quickly get my car to test and I'm glad i still have my k&N intake sticker with me because it is illegal without the sticker for any aftermarket part installed in the car. Thanks Yelp! I can use the check in for only $40. The test was quick like 15 minutes or less. When my car is done, I was inform by the owner about paying for the car registration sticker the next day or any other day after the smog test because the data haven't transfer to the DMV yet. Really nice and friendly place. Would recommend anyone to come here for their smog check required. read more

Went here on a Saturday morning and waited about 20 minutes, the owner Chris is really nice he gave me a discount for finding him on yelp. It took Chris about 15 minutes to complete my smog check and in that time offered us coffee and snacks. i will definitely come here again in 2 years when my next smog check is due. read more

Fast, friendly, in and out in 15 minutes. The gentleman performing the test even chatted with me while working. I noticed he also asks up front about check engine lights; nice to know he won't charge you and do a bogus test if you're going to fail outright anyway. Probably the smoothest smog check I've ever had. read more

I was surprised to know I needed a smog, the day before my registration was due. I checked this place out on yelp and with nothing but 5 star reviews, I was hopeful. I wasn't disappointed. Chris and Tony were nothing but nice and helpful and even told me better ways I could take care of my car. If you need a smog, come here. You won't be disappointed at all! Great family-owned business. Tony, his wife and son are frequently together in the garage, which lends to the honesty of their business. It is located behind a gas station, in the industrial side of town bordering south Arcadia/Monrovia. LTO is efficient and professional, taking your DMV form and returning it afterwards with an informative pass/fail sheet of details and a detailed receipt. There is a comfy couch for you to watch, as well as complimentary hot beverages and occasionally, donuts. My family and I have taken our cars here for a few years and Tony and his technicians are always warm and friendly. It's like seeing an old friend. Also helps that Tony appreciates my old hunk of metal for what it is! You can call ahead of time to see how busy it is. read more

This past Saturday I took my daughter's VW to this station. It was her request to take it there. It was getting late on Saturday and my daughter needed to get it done before she went into a late penalty for her registration. I had a very brief wait while one vehicle was being finished. The shop I have previously used for our cars has one plastic chair for people waiting. I was happy to be able to sit comfortably here, particularly since I had been working hard all day. Tony was the tech who helped me. Very friendly and outgoing gentleman. He was efficient in going about all the required checks. In a short time the testing was over, I got the certification for my daughter and was ready to be on my way. I will be back there this week with first of two cars we have to have tested this year. read more

Located behind the Arco car wash, this place might be hard to find but soon as you see the Arco you know your in the right spot. This is a very nice and friendly business, best one in the area. I've been coming here for three years and have not been disappointed not even once. You can tell the employees really care for their customers. They will take care of you as fast as they can. I've never had a problem taking my car here always fast and friendly. This is definitely a place to recommend! Either Chris or Tony will be helping you out and they are both so kind. read more

This was the best experience ever. It had been a while since I've needed a smog check so I called with a couple of questions. Tony answered the phone and sounded so friendly! He answered my questions and reassured me that he'd take of everything. When I brought my car in, he explained everything he was doing and gave me some advice about my car maintenance care. My vehicle did not pass (check engine light / too lean bank 1) and I was told I had 10 days to come back to complete and pass the test again; or, I will have to pay again. Today, 2.5.26, my car was serviced at Pep Boys. I checked and found that the Smog Test Only Station closes at 5 p.m. When I arrived, at 4:48 p.m. I saw the roll-up door closed, but the pedestrian door was open. I was approached by an abrasive male what stated, "We're closed." I said I thought you closed at 5 p.m. He stated, "We're take the last customer at 4:45 p.m. because it takes 20 minutes to complete a test." I said I am (3) minutes late, a return customer (with my paid receipt / failed test results), and had my vehicle serviced and repaired today. He stated, "You have to drive it 100 miles before you come back to re-test." "You could have just had the computer re-set." I was not told about the needed 100 miles to be driven. The male who assisted me (2) days ago walked up and I told him that I was not told this by him. He said, "I do not remember you." The rude guy tells me that Pep Boys should have told me about the 100 miles and that I should have told them why I was there; basically it all falls on me. He also stated, "You could have just had the computer re-set with out any repairs to pass a smog test." If this is a Smog Test Station rule, then they should have told me... not Pep Boys... after going back and forth, I said I will come back within the 10 days and drive the car as much as I can. He quickly added if I wanted the same tire, he would be able to place an order for it to be delivered by the afternoon. I immediately felt it was similar to a bait and switch and if tomorrow had not been a weekend where I didn't have to work, I would've just gone with the substitution. I finally agreed to have him order the tire for me before leaving the shop. I received a call right at around 3:30pm that my tire was delivered. I was very pleased with their communication. I was able to have someone bring my vehicle in and he drove back with a brand new tire on my car.

I was looking to do an oil change and also to have my car oil filter changed. My mom suggested that I come here since we used to come to Brian's Auto all the time for car repairs. I came this past Monday, around 8:15 am. After I pulled my car in and parked, I was greeted by AC. After telling him what I was here for, he asked me if I was going to wait here for my car and I said I was. I just ended up sitting in the waiting room (I brought a book to read), which was a nice area. AC did take out my air filter and cabin filter to show me how dirty it was and asked if I wanted him to replace it. I ended up declining the offer (because my husband ended up doing this for me. We also ended up going to the dealership to purchase a cabin filter and also purchased the air filter on Amazon). Anyway, in a little less than 1 hour, I had my oil change done and oil filter replaced. The cost was going to be either $76 via credit card, but not including a 3% transaction fee or $70 cash. I ended up paying cash. The price itself is okay but maybe a little on the higher side, as compared to perhaps another auto shop but definitely much cheaper than going to the dealer. Overall, I think the service was friendly and quick. I would most likely come back to AC again in the future.

What I appreciated most was Daniel's professionalism. He walked me through everything step by step, showed me exactly what was going on, and answered all my questions in detail. He was calm, knowledgeable, and transparent. He also stayed completely professional and never made negative comments about the original installer -- he simply focused on fixing the issue and making sure my vehicle was safe. They properly re-torqued and secured all the suspension components and performed a full alignment to ensure everything was dialed in. The truck now drives perfectly -- stable, smooth, no more clunking or sway. On top of that, their pricing was very fair and reasonable, especially considering the safety issue they corrected. So i came upon this shop because I figured id try and save money and use groupon but i get here ,…read moreboth times do the service, and both times now I have left feeling uneasy with either the service or actual price I ended up paying. So the filter cost more because my car is 2021? Theres fees I've had to pay more than what Groupon shows so just a heads up , not their fault, but just something they should fix. An example would be like "more oil is required then what shows on Groupon so you will be charged 8$" or something always comes up when using the groupon. Ended up paying 20$ more than what groupon showed to fill my lexus and get the proper filter. So the service was like 100$ total anyways. Ive come here twice and both times were unpleasant. Not sure if I come during bad times but although very friendly, it seems like the workers here are younger , more relaxed, and don't do the proper standard operating procedures. Like when you go to have someone work om your car , you can tell they been working, getting it , and seem to make u feel like they know what theyre doing. In terms of professionals? Idk if this place is it. I waited 1hr and 45 mins for a simple oil change and filter change? Mind you I waited for an hour and the worker tells me they brought the wrong filter. So thats why i stayed the extra 45 minutes. Total i spent 1hr and 45 minutes there today. I was also the only car there. I never judge a book by its cover , and on both times gave the benefit of the doubt. Then I leave and then see they forget to reset the maintenance meter and then don't update the gas mileage sticker? (first instance i came not the second, the second is the long wait thus what caused this review) Its frustrating when you trust people to work on your car and have to just hope for the best because you already paid for it. But if they're messing up minor details, what does that say about the work they did? Nevertheless, I will pay the extra 40$-50$ at my local auto repair shop where the owner does his work honest and right all the time. Im not writing this to bash the place but they forsure just hiring whoever can do "a simple oil change" probably not a place you wanna take a newer car. Maybe your beater or older car. Just wrote this so people who come for an oil change and expect it to be quality.. yeah based off both experiences , I cannot guarantee its gonna be this place.

He got the job done fast and properly and made sure to check his work after to verify the exhaust had no leaks in the welds. He went beyond that and painted the areas he welded to prevent rust. This place is a legit professional exhaust shop. I searched around based on reviews and past…read moreexperiences with other muffler shop. Some places slap stuff on and send you out. It will work, but not always be the best. This shop takes pride in the work they do. Owner is friendly and personable. I even chatted him up regarding welding, and he openly took the time to teach/show me some things to try as practice to learn better welding. This was not even related my my job!! I consider my job pretty simple... for my skill level (shade tree mechanic). I did not want to deal with it in my driveway. So I needed a shop that I would trust to do it as I would do it. I would take my time and get it right. No Wham,Bamm thank you mamm stuff. Here is an example of the little details you want in a professional shop. When putting on the clamps for the exhaust tips the owner (Sorry, I forgot your name, my bad) rotated the clamps in such a way that they would never be noticeable (clamp bolts) from the rear. This car is low and it probably would not have mattered but I know from experience from other shops that they would have just slapped the clamps on. Would have it worked? Yes. "Professional detail" no. The details matter and that is how you know you are dealing with someone that cares about the service they provide you. My job was a Corsa cat back exhaust on a 2024 Ford Mustang GT. The owner knew exactly what he was doing. Not like some other shops where it just seems like the person is guessing half the time. I work on my own project cars. So I have a certain skill level and sometimes I am that person that is guessing on how to do something. This shop was none of that. Professional and knowledgeable all the way. I will be letting everyone I know about the shop for their exhaust needs. You get what you pay for. The prices at this shop are fair, competitive and totally reasonable. Seriously I felt like I got a bargain just based on how professional the shop was. Side note- The owner has legit welding skills too. I saw examples. I would not hesitate for him to weld anything I needed done. NOT RELATED TO THIS SHOP AT ALL... Just a personal rant about some Yelp reviewers... Again NOT RELATED to this shop or any reviews of this shop...My two cents on Yelp reviews overall where people say they felt over-charged or they know they can get something cheaper. Look, you are paying for someone's skill and overhead (of the business). Stop thinking it is okay to scr3w skilled professionals of their labor because you think it SHOULD cost less. Seems you do not have the skills or understand the knowledge need to do skilled jobs you want someone to preform for you. First off just remember EVERYTHING is more expensive now. Then there is a big difference between doing a job correctly and doing a hack job that will be "good enough'. If you are one of those "good enough" shoppers, then stop leaving bad reviews all over Yelp for business that are actually trying to give you a professional and correct service. Those businesses are NOT trying to rip you off... they are trying not to screw you with shoddy service,

So happy with the service. I would have to say my experience here was better than 99% of my dealings with any services, including restaurants and hotels. Tony should consider a career in the hospitality industry, his customer service skills are exceptional!! My van failed the first test, but I was still content to return knowing that I would be greeted in a friendly, professional manner. And the prices are very reasonable with no coupon scams. I found him on my GPS as I was in Irwindale area. I hadn't even seen him on Yelp. But now that I see his rating, it's no surprise the business has a solid 5 star rating. Really good job - the 5 starts these guys are receiving are well deserved (I was first suspicious of so many good reviews, but now I know why). No thrills, no latte, no plush pillows in the waiting area - just a simple and honest smog check station, with friendly and super-fast service. No reservation required, but be mindful that there may be a queue during lunch time. Tony inspected my car, and he was thorough and discussed with me the typical (and some atypical) reasons why so many vehicles fail smog inspections. More than a "car guy", he's a "people person".
