Greek brunch? I have never had that before so of course I had to try on my Seattle trip! I had made reservations prior to save time and I was seated immediately when I arrived. The restaurant is really big and it was already half filled at 10:30 am. While more people kept coming in, the louder it got inside but it was still manageable where you could hear your own conversations at the table. I ordered their Shakshuka and it was magnificent omg my mouth melted as I took the first bite with their buttered toasted sourdough. The roasted tomatoes and spices in this dish was so addicting that I wanted to devour this entire plate. The portion was perfect for one person but honestly you can share it or do family style to try other things too. I was only able to finish half and togo the rest for a light snack later. Love this restaurant and I would recommend this to anyone visiting Seattle wanting a nice hearty breakfast! read more

We went to LOLA last week and enjoyed it! It started off really well, with the salads (Greek salad for me, beet salad for my wife) and the six dips with pita. Those were all delicious!! We also shared the grilled octopus and I got the Greek spaghetti, which were both only okay in our opinion. The octopus (maybe it was squid - I don't absolutely recall) was a bit chewy and bland. The Greek spaghetti was drier than I would have liked and was mostly just feta, basil and cinnamon (maybe allspice) and if that's all it normally is, then that's great, it just wasn't my favorite. My wife had been about 15 years ago and remembered loving it, so she was happy to be able to take me there, and I'm happy to have experienced it with her. I would definitely get the pita and dips again & wspexialt loved the tzatziki, feta and bleu cheese, cauliflower and anchovy (and I don't like anchovy normally). I didn't love the red pepper one, as it just reminded me of salsa, or the Kalamata olive one, as there was just so much olive happening in most of the dishes we chose, but to be fair, my wife loved both. I'm not going to lie, I don't remember what the 6th one was but I did like it. We skipped dessert because we were too full (we definitely had leftovers to bring back to the hotel) but overall I would go again, even if just for the salad, dips, and a glass of wine. read more

I came to Lola for the first time about five years ago. I remember the made to order donuts being the best thing that had ever reached my lips, but specifically the vanilla mascarpone cream that came with it. Fresh and bright and punchy in a way that's so rich you think you don't want another bite, before your tastebuds settle down and you go for another scoop. **overall 4.5 stars** This place is great - came here on a Wednesday for an early lunch(?) -brunch or late breakfast and enjoyed the meal. Can't really tell if this is more of a cafe/breakfast/ dinner spot but nonetheless it had great food although a tad pricey . Would come back. Food 4.25 stars out of 5 Octopus hash: I requested an over easy egg instead of a poached egg but it ended up closer to a medium egg (slight jammy yolk but no runniness). Every part of this dish was great. The crunchy snap peas acted as a nice contrast to the chewy octopus. I loved the char on the octopus. The corn went really well with the greens and overall the combination of ingredients went great together. My only nitpick was the Dijon mustard(?) aioli was a bit too heavy handed. I think it was placed too heavily on 1 side of the plate so part of the meal felt like it had a little too much sauce. Shakshuka: My partner got it and said it better than the Shakshuka she got earlier in the week from a larger Seattle brunch spot. I tried it myself and can confirm this is a great dish that has a lot of spices and complex flavorings. The hidden poached eggs in the middle with runny egg yolks elevates the dish. The buttered/oiled sourdough bread acts as a great spoon to soak everything up. Service : 4/5 Standard cafe service, the waitress was nice and would check in on us every once in a while. I'm not used to Seattle restaurant prices, so I was hesitant to have lunch here with my wife and two kids when I saw the menu prices. Man, I'm so glad my wife encouraged going ahead and having lunch here. This was the best meal I've had in awhile. I had the lamb burger, medium well, and it was outstanding--much better than any beef burger I've had in a long time. The fries were also lovely--crispy and well-salted. We ordered the pita with all six spreads, and that was a great choice. I was amazed at the variety and quality of flavors, especially the olive and fig. The accompanying chermoula (pesto) was fresh r a light kick. 4/5 - Halloumi and fig kebab. Good flavor combo, served on a bed of onions on a sizzling iron plate. The dish was a tad over cooked (esp the meat onions). 3/5 - Brussel sprouts. Nicely roasted with candied walnuts and sprinkle of Parmesan. None of to r ubiquitous balsamic drizzle here. Huge portion and tasty. 4/5 - Manti (lamb dumplings). Oz told us that everyone who ordered this dish just loved it. Absolutely- we would have licked the plate if we weren't in public. Came here for a late lunch on a Sunday with a few other friends. We started to order just before the lunch hour was done - so right on time for lunch! Three of us ordered the lamb kabob lunch and the other one ordered the lamb burger. Overall, food is great!!! The lamb kabob was so well cooked and flavored. The potatoes were crispy outside and soft inside (but a little salty). The lamb burger is good too. One note from us is the portion size was not that big... Service was fabulous! Our waitress was so nice and generous. When she brought the dishes for the three of us, she mentioned that the last lamb kabob was not ready yet and apologized. This is a Seattle classic, known for brunch with Greek flavors. We made reservations a few days ahead for Sunday brunch just in case, for 12:15pm, and were seated around that time. First issue is they seated us right near the entrance where there is a lot of foot traffic and people hanging around the table, which made the dining experience not as ideal. We shared the following dishes: made to order doughnuts, sweet pepper shakshuka, eggs benedict, and octopus hash. The donuts were served with their vanilla mascarpone which was fairly creamy, and a berry compote. The donuts are more like beignets, and $13 for 6 pieces is a bit steep, given that 3 of them were pretty tiny pieces (as compared to other pictures). That is the second issue. The shakshuka had a nice balance of sweet and tangy, to whet the appetite, and the eggs are perfectly runny. The toast was okay as it was a little hard and burnt. The eggs benedict is surprisingly mediocre, given that it is one of the most popular dishes here. The English muffin is a bit burnt, and the poached eggs were not even runny at all as they overcooked them. The ham felt like cold cut ham, which is a bit unacceptable for $24. That is the third issue. They do have the garlic smashed potatoes served alongside, but this is carbs upon carbs but the potatoes were good, could be more flavorful given the description. The octopus hash was really good. However, it is one of the most expensive items on the menu at $26, but they do give a good amount of octopus. The combination of bacon, potato, fennel, etc make this a very flavorful and substantial dish. I wished we didn't get the eggs benedict. Service was fine but could have been a bit better given it is a more American type of brunch. We had to ask for water refills, but they at least gave new plates for sharing, after we ate the donuts. This was honestly a pretty disappointing brunch, especially given it is a popular spot. read more

The location is convenient if you're in the downtown area. We didn't have a reservation for this date night, but they were able to seat us at the bar. Great and friendly staff. We parked a bit away, but I'm sure if you're diligent enough, you could find street parking nearby or find a car park nearby. The ambiance was nice. The bar had a tv in the corner, which you couldn't hear. I recall music playing but it wasn't loud enough that we had to yell to talk to the person you're dining with. The indigo fizz was really good. Not strong overlapping flavors. The lavender wasn't overwhelming like at some places. It sorta reminded me about fruity pebbles. The lamb wasn't my favorite. It was slightly dry and I thought the sauce could have had a little more of a stronger taste because it didn't add too much to it. I did enjoy the halibut though. The asparagus was also really good. Charred well but didn't taste burnt. I think the spread was our favorite. I really wanted to eat more of that but didn't want to fill up on it before the rest of the food came. Definitely want to try the place again but probably a different dish than the lamb to see how the rest are. Hopefully then I can update my review and give it a five star. I liked the kind of classy yet lively vibe in the restaurant and how they have a bunch of seats next to the window. I got the salmon kebab dish that comes with yogurt sauce, crunchy smashed potato, pita, and salad. For $24 it was a generous portion just enough to make me full and not too much. You could choose the side option of the potato or the salad, but it was also nice that I can do half & half - the half salad portion was pretty big and it was great to have that much of salad with the salmon kebab. If I were to come to Lola again, I would like to try the octopus hash, which was on the brunch menu - by the time we were there, brunch hour was over so I had to pick something from the lunch menu. On a recent weekend getaway to Seattle, on our first morning in town, my husband and I made our way to Lola for breakfast. We took a morning flight in and after dropping our bags at our hotel, walked over to Lola. After a short, wait, we were seated and promptly and warmly greeted by our waitress. To start, we both ordered a cup of coffee and decided to share the freshly made donuts. These donuts were absolutely out of this world with the most delicious homemade blueberry compote and vanilla mascarpone cream. Most people end their meal with the donuts, but I would highly recommend starting your meal with them. After savoring the donuts with our coffee, we moved onto the main course. I decided to try their omelette that was on special - goat cheese with oyster mushrooms. The omelette was delicious. My husband was a little bit more adventurous, and decided to try an octopus dish. The flavor profile and combination of his meal was absolutely wild, but I thoroughly enjoyed the few bites he shared with me. I recently went for a girls' brunch with three friends, and I ordered the Washington Chicken Kebab with a latte. The kebab was packed with flavor and very satisfying. I chose to have it with half a salad and half grilled potatoes. While the potatoes didn't look particularly appetizing, their flavor was spot on. When we asked to go Dutch, she split the bill evenly, but one of our cards was accidentally charged $100, thankfully, the refund was processed promptly. Like the other Tom Douglas restaurants, Lola is amazing! Both the brunch and dinner services here are phenomenal and offer an upscale delicious experience without breaking the bank. I love that a lot of the food here is modern while still retaining classic Greek flavors and freshness. If you're here for brunch, you have to try the Octopus Hash. The octopus is extremely tender and meaty and the vegetables are fresh and light. It's the perfect thing to eat for breakfast because it doesn't make you feel too heavy. I also love that the vegetables change with the season so it's different every time I come. Other dishes I like include the Lola Spreads. I love pita and dips and the Lola Spreads offer a wide variety of flavors. The Halloumi Cheese Fig kabobs are an amazing sweet salty combination that you can't go wrong with. I love Lola's! It's my new favorite restaurant in Seattle. I was visiting Seattle for a conference for 4 days and ate at Lola's four times (two breakfasts and two dinners).
