Absolutely love the design of this coffee shop. They do indoor/ outdoor living really well. The coffee bar opens up to their outdoor patio. It's a great spot to enjoy your Saturday morning. I loved their sausage, egg & cheddar croissant sandwich + the lofty style nola! The coffee had a slight mint flavor and was subtly sweet. I also tried the Turkish latte but really didn't like it because it had strong spices. So if you like spice, then this is for you but it wasn't my favorite. Lofty has a great name and great views so I wanted to give it a go. The patio is nice, spacious and comfortable. I enjoy that it's all open from the inside and the outside. I ordered the Nola, and the pouched eggs with two pieces of toast and ordered for in house. I received the incorrect coffee drink, and then received the Nola. It was okay. I like strong coffee and I couldn't even taste the coffee. The two eggs that were poached were ok, nothing to rave about. The toast was barely toasted and cold, with hard cream cheese that I couldn't even spread. Overall it was just an okay experience. Maybe will have to try another coffee drink at a different time. read more

They were so careful to check every ingredient which is such a rare thing. They gave me zero attitude about my allergy. This sounds crazy but most places can be really rude and annoyed. Been going to Lofty for a few years. There are a few locations north coastal San Diego and Little Italy. Been to all and each is a chill place to hang out. Love their in-house roasted beans. Their spicy Aztec mocha is HOT!!!!! Their Americano is my go to. My husband has enjoyed the Kyoto and their nitro brew. I have to shout out the baristas and staff at state streets lofty location- out of all the locations, the baristas at this location are the most kind and customer service oriented, and have repeatedly gone above and beyond in smiling, acting happy you're there, trying to remember your name or at least recognizing your face and saying it's good to see you again. So five out of five stars for them all! My one feedback is to pay attention to the milk preference of the order, there's been 3 times in the past month where they make my drink with almond milk instead of whole milk. I do make sure to specify, because I feel like the norm now is alternative milk and that's what people assume if you don't specify. If you like almond milk it's a nice surprise (and maybe they've been treating me to free almond milk add ons cuz they're so nice! Haha!) but I really don't like almond milk at allllll haha so that's the only thing, just getting the milk right! Love you guys! read more

i hate it when people running a business act offended when a new customer asks a question and the employee answers indignantly i went in for a mocha and asked for whipped cream... "we don't have whipped cream" oh why you out? "No, we don't do whipped cream we are a traditional coffee house" so i got one anyway and I was disappointed to find it was very acidic and little if any chocolate... i suspect they use powder and not syrup. read more

Nice place! The employee ringing me up was very sweet. I ordered a flat white which was very nice.. what I did not care for was how long it took to get a coffee.. I watched about 10 people who ordered after me get their drinks first. When I finally asked the barista, she seemed annoyed I was asking. I get it but if all of these people who ordered after me get there drinks and I'm still waiting after 20 minutes, you should have some grace! I couldn't get a ceramic cup, only a paper cup, because per the barista, they were closing soon. Do not come here if you need to get you coffee in a timely fashion. I ordered a açaí bowl and a latte during a period that was somewhat slow. I got my latte after 20 min and ask about my açaí bowl.... 10 minutes later no açaí bowl, I checked in and they said a few more minutes..... really?
