What I got: I got Balayage Color and cut from Isabel. (Backstory)My hair was really really long and really unhealthy and dry. I had neglected it and it showed big time. I've found my forever-stylist. Period. No other hands will be allowed to touch my hair! Those who know me, know that my hair was pretty long. Super excited for more access to my hair magician, Kaitlynn! I've followed her through many different places over the years and she's in this salon a few days a week. I fell into cycles of abusing, cutting, and growing out my hair over periods of 2 years per cycle, and it was awful. Then thankfully I found out Kaitlynn was back in LA and doing hair. She worked with me to fix, grow out, and finally cut all the damaged hair off. I always wanted unicorn mermaid hair and could never do it. I have really thick black Asian hair. Kaitlynn was able to lighten it easily and because she did it properly, I've been able to keep my hair long. It hasn't turned into frizzy limp corn hair that breaks off, which was what usually happened before. And also because of this, when the color washes out, my hair still looks nice. But even better, she can easily apply new colors whenever I go back for a refresh! Her touch with colors is beyond amazing. I give her a vague idea of what I'm thinking and trust her judgment, and not only am I never disappointed, I'm usually blown away. I was first introduced to Michelle five years ago through a friend when she was still working at another salon in Pasadena. Since then, she moved to another salon and I followed her there, too! There's no one else I trust with my hair so I'm no willing to find someone close by in the Bay Area, I'd rather book a flight to visit friends and family and get a haircut / color while I'm at it. This salon is a couple of things: - easy to get to, close to the freeway - plenty of free parking - beautiful natural lighting - clean and open space - inviting and friendly Michelle also always introduces me to the best shampoo, conditioner, nourishing hair oils, hairspray, etc. I've bought them all. Lastly, she uses the Dyson hairdryer that I'm a little obsessed with. The best part of all, Michelle really cares about the relationship she creates with me. When you want to experiment, have fun and not have your hair break off from over processing or bad maintenance, it takes commitment and a sprinkle of glitter from your hair magician. It's been 15+ years of hair love between Kaitlynn and my curly locks. It started off with my search for the right person to trust with my curls. Little did I know I would go from long, dark, curly hair to trying every cut, color and style I couldn't yet imagine. Much of the success of my insane hair has been the great care and recommendations I've gotten from Kaitlynn for both cuts and colors. I am typically good for a cut every 6-12 months but since going to Kaitlyn I'm convinced that you don't cut it and then let it grow to your butt before going again! Kaitlynn is craz-mazing. I' ve been getting my hair cut and colored by her for years. I have super thick, usually pretty long, asain hair and she was able to lift my color to a very light blond balayage without it looking too brassy. She's also done rose gold tips on my hair as well. Because my hair is so thick, it's difficult to cut without it looking like a shelf. She's cut bangs, done small trims, and recently cut it into a supercute lob with an undercut.
