Love this place. This is my 5th time ordering from here and I can't stop, I won't stop. So today I got the House tomato basil soup and garlic bread, if you want comfort it's in that cup of soup. The soup, she wanted to give tomato but all I got was the essence of it. The tomato was foreshadowed by the creaminess which made the soup really heavy. I could taste the cream and cheese inside the soup more than the tomato, which is what I really wanted (if I hadn't made that clear in my last three sentences ). The soup just needs a little balance but the flavors in the soup really come through it even has a little kick to which is a great surprise. The garlic bread was yum, just a little too greasy for my liking. Rosa's Falafel Taco, what I have to say is mmmmm great falafel and the portions inside the taco were just right. Great cucumber salad inside the taco just needed a little more acid. Overall I enjoyed my meal and will still continue to come back and try something new next time. and if you didn't know you can find them on UberEats. This is such a cute place right in Downtown Silver Spring. I came here with a group of 5 around 2pm on a sunday and it was fairly quiet. I ordered the Jerk Chicken Mixed Greens salad for $12 which was so delicious I forgot to take a picture. I also got an order of half and half fries, sweet potatoes and parmesan truffle that was more than enough to share between us all. I also ordered a bottle of wine from their great selection in the bar. A delicious sweet red called Sweet Katherine. I would definitely recommend this place for a cute date night, girls night or even some me time. Although i'm not in silver spring often I will definitely come back to Locavino when I am in town. read more

Locavino is a great new neighborhood spot! They have a great selection of beer, wine and ciders, great food, and a good vibe. I had the house Pinot Grigio which was delicious and the grilled cheese. The grilled cheese is everything I could have wanted as an adult that hasn't had one in a million years. Three different types of cheese, spinach, and tomatoes made it much better than your basic grilled cheese. I also got a side of sweet potato fries which were cooked perfectly and there was not a single soggy or floppy one in the bunch. my friend got the sliders and I tried them as well and they were delicious. They were the perfect size, we're not dried out, and have plenty of flavor. I highly recommend this place! read more

I love coming here after leaving the movie theater that is conveniently across the street. The food is tasty and fairly priced. You can tell every ingredient they use is high quality. They have a great selection of wine by the glass available including some harder to find local ones. If you prefer bottles they do those both to go and to drink there. Their staff is great and is happy to help you choose a wine you'd like. If wine isn't your thing they even have beers and ciders both to drink in house and to go as well. I have yet to have something here I didn't thoroughly enjoy. read more

I came back for the second time! After hyping over the eggplant fries and some interesting things I saw on the menu, like John Fahey burger and Mushroom, Mushroom burger, my girlfriend was willing to give this spot a try. First off, Mushroom, Mushroom did not what I'd imagined. What I'd imagined was portabella mushroom serving as the buns of the burger, but no, it's actually the substitution for the meat. Granted, the substitution did not dampen my excitement, but the next part did: the amount of the mushroom was so small, I wasn't sure if I'm getting anything off of it. Was I tasting something special about it? I taste more buns than the mushrooms, so that was a turn-off for me. John Fahey, on the other hand, was fantastic! A great comeback after the mushroom burger. The bleu cheese was great and the amount of it was just right, if not generous. The wine-marinated patty was the main reason for me being hyped up. The difference in flavor was subtle, but it's definitely there. It added up to the complexity and richness to the taste, and along with every other ingredient, I enjoyed this burger so well. Eggplant fries were as great as I had for the first time. The service was lovely. The view was great for the wintertime, as you can see the people ice-skating on the outdoor rink. Had not been since this changed hands and really like it. The menu is quite extensive as are the wines. It was great to snag a window seat and see the skateboarders. The food was really good - salmon good though slightly over cooked. My husband had the soup - Tomato Basil and it was great. Quickly got email conversation and saw that it did not reflect 6:00 pm pick up time. I immediately called Loca-vino. Staffer said she would ask the cooks to hold off cooking it until later Arrived at 6:00 to find food room temperature-- it was cooked beginning at 4:30 Very tasty food -- but it would have been better hot. Locavino is a local gem. It's a fun place to shop for wine - they have a lot of unexpected and delightful bottles. It's a fun place to snack - the sweet potato fries and hummus are outstanding. It's a fun place to eat a full meal - I'm particularly fond of the jerk chicken sandwich, the burgers, and the pastas. And it's good for takeout, too. Yes, you have to call them up to place a takeout order, rather than interacting solely with a website, but they make good food to-go and package it well. Highly recommended. read more

We mourned the loss of Adega many years ago, but its spiritual successor Locavino is even better. The food is fresher and the vibe is fun. During the pandemic we've gotten take out a lot to just show our support for this great neighborhood place and I finally went to dine in on 12/21. I didn't get my usual hummus (which is so yummy) and decided to try the tomato soup. So glad that I did! I was really tasty and the garlic bread that came with it was also delicious. A great treat for a cold day. I also piled on and got the Gonzalo wrap with grilled chicken, which is one of my favorites. We also picked up some wine for a Christmas gift. Wine selection is good & diverse from other spots in MoCo. Food is good. I would come here for dates way more often if there was table service, ordering drinks at the counter and then having to go back for food or refills can be pretty awkward. In fairness, I was not a big Adega fan, so a revival of Adega was not going to be my favorite, but I gave it a try. Given our current concern about recycling, plastic straws, etc., I was very disappointed that for the most part plates, glasses, flatware were disposable - even for eating in. They should get with the times and start using real plates, etc. As for the food, I had my old Adega favorite, the cappellini, as well as sweet potato fries. The cappellini was not as good as I remembered it and was served without the garlic bread I used to get. It seemed like they dredged the sweet potato fries in something before frying, which was disappointing. They have some kinks to shake out. The place was almost empty, but our food came out very slowly and not at the same time. One of us received the wrong order and we had to return it. Also, the room looks a little empty without the middle of the room wine racks that Adega used to have. As a dark beer fan, I was disappointed that there were no dark options on tap. Also disappointed that they don't have ginger beer, unlike Adega. Finally, and disappointingly like Adega for most of its history, they did not appear to have espresso drinks. That would be a nice addition. It would be great for the neighborhood if they turned this into a nice place. I wish them luck. read more

I have been to LOVAVINO several times and I'm never disappointed. The food is great and the people working there are super friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable. Be sure to ask for a taste of the various wine/beer before you buy. They do have a great selection of local beer and wine. Its always nice to support local vendors. One of the nice things about this place is that its really casual to sit down and order with very little pressure to buy a drink or order quickly. We had our toddler with us in a high chair and it was no problem. You order at the counter when your ready and they will bring it out to when the food is ready. The menu is diverse and will please most people with its variety of wraps, sandwiches, pastas, and flatbread.
