Spiders, dirt, rats, chronically increasing rates, inconsistent management. 5x10 unit starting $80 in 2020 prices went up every 6mos till I was paying $140 in 2022. Unit was poorly sealed, by move out was infested with black widow spiders and multiple dead rodents. Current rates for same unit were $80's when I was paying $140/mo. Also charged me for lock when I brought my own, they promised refund and never delivered. read more

Our family thought our new home would close in a date. This wasn't looking like it would happen so 2 days prior to having to leave my apartment I got desperate. I called this storage I spoke to Ashley with I'm 5 minutes I had my storage. The next morning I get news my house will close in time. I thought my $260 payment was gone. Once some of my things had shifted and Mark (i believe that was his name) helped me wedge the door open and was super cool about it. This place is GREAT...If what you are looking for in a storage unit is rats and black widows. When I'd let the office know they said they would spray the outside and that was really all they offered as far as help. To make matters worse the spider was pregnant. (luckily a brave family friend killed her) then to add to it all I find dead rats all over my unit, pee and poop...along with regular daddy long legs and spider webs all over my stuff. So clearly I'm very thankful my fathers stuff was in there. He passed away last year and I needed a place to put his stuff quickly as I moved his stuff out and cleaned out his place. So if what you are looking for is a rodent/black widow plus other critters in all your belongings, your things which are priceless to you ruined,. Then this place is perfect! I found 4 mice in my unit. Wait not just mice...a family of dead mice in my fathers things. They'd chewed up and made nests out of my dads belongings. Mice droppings ALL over my and my daughters bed. When I gone to pick them up there was pee all over my bed and poop all INSIDE her bed. My bed alone cost $2500, hers $300. I can't even add up how much of my stuff got ruined. At least 80% of my things ruined. Thousands of dollars worth of stuff. My advise, go to a storage unit that has climate control, and is clean. I went here because it was cheap and being a single mom at the time I had to go with what I felt I could afford. Hind sight is 20/20 but I suggest learning from my mistake. read more

I moved my belongings from college into this storage unit two years ago (2010) after I graduated. I had only planned on keeping my things here for a few months but due to personal circumstances that turned into a few years! And let me tell you: this has been a tremendous waste of money!!! Even though it was only $35/month I could have taken that money and purchased new items. First issue I had with this storage company is theft. A few months ago the storage facility was broken into and many individual storage units were robbed, mine was one of them. A floor lamp, two barstools, and a TV stand were stolen. Fortunately it was all cheap Target and Ikea furniture. But it's the fact that this place has such terrible security! You are required to enter a passcode when entering the gate. The gate will stay open long enough so that someone can "piggy-back" into the facility without entering a passcode. Meaning anyone can enter the facility with a set of lock cutters and help themselves. Fortunately the Livermore Police caught the robbers but my items were never recovered. My other issue is one that previous posters have commented on but I will just reiterate the point: THIS PLACE IS FILTHY. I understand that my items will be a little dusty and dirty after two years in storage. And I even understand a few cobwebs here and there. But I had to throw away two entire boxes and a laundry hamper due to infestation with pests. I had a rat or mouse make a cozy little nest in one box. After I saw the chew hole through the side I just threw the box away because I'm sure there was a dead carcass inside. Another box and the hamper were completely infested with bugs at one point but all that was left were their little carcasses. The box RATTLED from all of them. I found rat feces on the inside of a few of my drinking glasses. The person helping me move even stepped in rat feces. I was so disgusted by the state of the unit that I had to come back the next day with gloves and N95 masks. I'm sure there was some disease incubating in that unit. I clorox-wiped everything and repackaged all my belongings so that I wouldn't infest my new residence. Bottom line: save yourself the money and hassle of storing your items here. Do not store anything of value here because it will only get destroyed. The only appropriate items to store here would be car parts, paint, or other construction materials. And that would still seem sketchy. Just suck it up and pay the extra money for a more expensive unit at another facility. read more

My husband and I chose this storage facility for their convenient hours of operation. However, after picking up a few items about a month after storing our things, we found that our entire storage unit was COMPLETLY infested with mice/rat feces and urine. Upon advising the Livermore Self Storage Manager, she advised us that they had an issue with mice/rat infestations due to NO pest control. She advised and we confirmed on our contract that Livermore Self Storage is not responsible for any damages. We immediately moved out of the unit; however ALL of our items have been affected by the infestation. We recommend that unless you take pictures of your items and purchase renters insurance and plan on filing a claim, to steer clear of Livermore Self Storage. read more

Livermore storage advertises second month free. This is false. Unless you rent starting the first day of the month, you really get the third month free. If you start the second day of the month or later, you'll be charged a pro rated amount for that month, THEN a full month, then you get a free month. So if I only need 8 weeks of storage, there is no free month. read more

I rented a unit for 6 months. Each storage building has a moving cart which is secured to the building with chain-padlock-glue combination. I don't know the glue (e.g., brand, model), but the glue works great on two metal surfaces! The chemist is a genius, and the operator who selected the glue is wise. I was finding anything from $120 to $150 a month at all the local self storage facilities. I stopped in here one day on a whim...and was stunned. About 1/3 the price of all the other spots. I live out of state and had to move items from my Livermore home so that we can rent it. I spoke to Daniel couple of day before the move. She had 1unit in the size i wanted. I reserved it and told her i am out of town and my daughter who lives in the Bay Area will be helping us and asked her how we will be paying the rent. She sd tht we will be setting us up on line and we can pay tht way. But on the day of the move, after movers got there she said we cant move until i send a letter giving them an authorization to charge the credit card and copies of my credit card and driver's license. I told her i am paying the movers by the hour and i am in the process of emailing the items and let them start unloading. I also asked her why she didn't ask this before and if she had requested i could have taken care of everything before hand. She lied and said she did. When i asked her if she gave me the email address and asked me to email all the items point blank. She told me there is a mis- understanding. Enough said i had to pay extra for the movers until the whole thing was sorted out. Certainly not happy with the customer service. Hope this poor service doesn't continue read more
