Worst storage I've ever used. The Russian woman at the office is never there, and she was completely rude to me the first time, as well. Last time I was there, several renters complained that she is never in the office. I stored machines and household items there, and everything got so dusty and disgusting that I don't recommend this storage. Also, if they ever pick up the phone, the website is ancient, the bills are not detailed, and they slap on unnecessary charges. read more

I was at the storage unit today and heard a very loud woman's voice as I approached the door. She was so disrespectful and rude to a young man and threatened to evict him! All he asked for was the owners phone number. This was her reason for eviction? I turned around and ran back to my car. That is some shady business! Love how every storage unit is a pull-up style and how its VERY CONVENIENT to the customer. Place is ALWAYS clean with a lot of security cameras and supervision. To me, having all units outdoors doesnt bother me, the benefit of having your garage door RIGHT next to your car is a huge plus. Staff are always nice and helpful via phone or in-person. Right off the bat, this company stood out to me because they answer their own phones. No maze of "Customer Service" call centers to negotiate. One call and I was talking to someone right there at the facility, got all the relevant information I needed, and the current unit availability. Staff (Jennifer) was awesome, from the first phone call through my eventual rental commitment. Very friendly and knowledgeable about all the units. She was very accommodating, showing me all of the different units I was interested in. If these things weren't enough, the prices are the best in the area. read more

Had some issues with my bank and tried to update them with payment information and they are ignoring my calls and my emails, they are deliberately trying to put a lien on my property and stick me with hundreds of dollars worth of fees. I have called over 15 times in one week with no response, their voicemail has been full for over a month, I've even sent some emails as well. Also as you can see by the other reviews the lady name Olga is not a nice person whatsoever and I had a chance to meet the owner and he is just as rude and condescending .. He pulled up behind me inside of the storage unit and began to talk to me in a super condescending tone, and then had snarky/ degrading comments and followed up with telling me that he owned the place, he even seen my car and looked back at me and he said "you should have no problem making these payments or maybe you're living above your lifestyle and you can't afford that car, you DO NOT talk to your customers this way.. AND that was coming from the owner. I will be filing a police report and taking them to small claims court.. this is not the place to keep your personal belongings. These people just want your money and deliberately try to tack on late fees and "pre-lien" fees. This is not the way to operate a business in any manner. Initially I signed up with this storage unit with a very polite gentleman who went out of his way to meet me at a convenient time when no one was in the office that day. I was expecting a similar experience. (Professional and polite) I had a concern and called the office today. I spoke with a lady named Olga this morning who claims to be the office manager, she was very rude, I asked to speak with the supervisor she said "No I am also the supervisor " I asked to speak with someone above her and she kept saying no. I would give this place negative points. The staff here does not adhere to covid guidelines. The customer service is atrocious and I felt extremely unsafe while trying to rent a storage space . When I had spoken to them on the phone, the staff was courteous, but when I got there in person it was the opposite experience. I had gone to the rental office to secure my lease around 4:30 pm on Feb 22nd, 2021. First of all, the man ( I do not remember his name ) there was out of office, and I was waiting for about 10 minutes, while there was no one in sight. Finally, the man came. He was not wearing a mask. He showed me the units outside but when we went inside the leasing office, he was STILL not wearing a mask. I politely asked him to wear one, and while he complied, I could tell he was disgruntled. However, I was happy that he wore one, and I told him I appreciated it, especially as I needed to fly in the next few days. He became increasingly hostile about wearing the mask. He alluded to the fact that I was a hypochondriac for wearing one, among other things : He verbally attacked me. Given there was nobody except myself and this person, I felt extremely unsafe and left. I did not sign the lease, and rented a storage unit elsewhere. There is an abundance of storage spaces in this area, so you would be better off in a safer place. read more

Good location with fair pricing and good ownership and the Site Manager who's there daily Tuesday through Saturday - Jennifer - is awesome and personable and Professional! I have units at other locations, but would move everything here if I could! No issues and no concerns, and if there is, it is taken care of. I don't like storage units. I don't think my stuff is safe. I moved back home from GA and had to put my whole life into tubs until I got back on my feet. Today my dad told me our unit was BROKEN INTO and 90% of my stuff was STOLEN. $1,000 of my stuff. Lady who owned this place 'has never had this happen before'. Cool beans. I am completely devastated. I distrust one-star reviews. I usually assume it's some entitled brat who had a minor misunderstanding and sought revenge via yelp. This place has made me reevaluate that theory. First:Caroline at the Livermore office is wonderful. Unfortunately, the effect of this is equivalent to ABANDON ALL HOPE, YE WHO ENTER HERE. HAVE A NICE DAY. I've used this place for a long time, always paid on time. I was on a business trip and made ONE late payment, and since then my life has become a spiral of despair. They do not call you. They permanently raise your rent $20. They assess a $50 pre-lien fee four days after the due date. I straightened everything out, got the exact amount due, and sure enough, the day after they received my check they sent a notice that a $50 pre-lien charge was being assessed, and no time was available to react because by the time the letter arrived the date was past. I have no idea why the charge is being assessed because I paid exactly what they told me to. The owners are sociopaths. Stay away from here. They were the cheapest place around, but they've jacked up the rates and provide no service whatsoever. There is no pest control. If you don't mind all your books and furniture being eaten, that's not a problem. The spaces are all much smaller than advertised, so even when the prices were lower, your cost per sq ft wasn't really all that great because they lie. Stay far, far away. read more

Should have checked Yelp before we showed up here. We bought a new 29' travel trailer, and we had great interactions with Jake (Dublin) and Caroline (Livermore) by phone. Signed the contract on Sunday afternoon and brought the trailer in on Monday morning. The aisles between the parking spaces are exceedingly narrow, have nearly zero clearance when turning at the end of each aisle, several vehicles (trailers, boats) extend over their allotted space making it that much more difficult to safely navigate through the parking lot, and the 35' spots are actually quite a bit shorter since they are diagonally oriented but they measure from stripe to stripe. (Said another way: a 35' trailer parked in a 35' slot would extend at least 3-4' beyond the stripe.) Now I'll freely admit that we are new to trailers (though we've driven RVs for years), so we are not the most experienced when it comes to parking a trailer in tight spaces. But the layout of the lot, and the tight turning radius at the end of each aisle, made it harrowing (to say the least) to navigate in the lot, and we decided that we would not be able to reliably park here, navigate around the existing vehicles in the lot, and keep our vehicle and those in the lot safe. Given that this was less than 24 hours after signing the contract, I requested our money back (less the administrative fee), and the owner refused, blamed me for not knowing how to park, and made it very clear that I'd be out January's pro-rated rent and all of February (nevermind that the total time we spent in the facility was less than one hour). Given this exceptionally short-sighted approach to customer service, I can't recommend this business at all. read more

Here's my rule for posting negative reviews: I have to see a pattern and it has to be systemic. Well this place made a pattern yesterday. We've been a customer here since mid-April 2014 and we store our 24' trailer there. I concur with a different reviewer that the trailer spots take a lot of maneuvering and fancy driving to get into but the manager there does a nice job of letting you choose a spot that has no one next to you and we've been coping. The issue I have with this place is the communication. The owner (not the manager) is a total failure at customer communication. A week after we signed our lease, we were sent a letter that said - and I'm not joking - "We have discovered our prices are much lower than the surrounding area rental market rate. [in bold] Therefore, regretfully Airport Self Storage is forced to correct this by having a minor price increase on all units." That is not from my memory. I typed it directly from the letter. Yesterday was when the pattern was formed. We received a letter that said, "[Y]our lease expires at the end of each month and subject to management discretion, renews automatically on the first of the next month. It is the Management's option not to renew your lease. You have until August 3, 2014 to vacate your unit. You are still responsible to pay for the rent for July 2014. You will not be charged for the first 3 days in August 2014, however if you are still occupying your unit after August 3, 2014 you will be charged penalties and your vehicle will be towed off of the property and you will be repsonible [sic] for tow and storage charges." That's it. No explanation. No "Thank you for being a loyal, responsible customer". I called and was told that all trailers and campers are being told to vacate for construction. That's fine, but the communication from this place (complete with typos) is the worst I've ever experienced. I'll never do business here again. How the owners are successful with this level of customer service is a tribute to the manager there who compensates for their terrible manners and communication skills. They should have her write their letters for them. read more

DON'T TRUST THE RECENT POSITIVE REVIEWS, COMPANY BEGS FOR IT. If I could give 0 stars, I would. I have had two different size units over the last five years. My mother has had several different size units over the last 10 or so years. Signing up and changing over when we needed to was always pretty simple. Problems starting arising last year, we got a letter in June 2015 saying that rent was going to be increased due to the minimum wage was being increased to $15 and they needed to supplement for their employees. Alright, this is Livermore not San Francisco and out minimum wage is no where near that. I felt like they were just using it as an excuse to raise the rates. Whatever, raise of rents just happen. Now a year later we got another letter saying they are going to increase it again, this time $40 more for my mothers unit. I decided it was not worth it and decided to close my account. I gave my thirty day notice and it was very simple (in and out in less than 5 min). Part of me liked this, but at the same time there was no asking why I was ending after all this time. I just wrote it off as they probably have a high turnover rate. I was clearing out my unit and needed to get a box out of my mothers unit in a different complex. I tried to get in but the code would not work. Nobody was in the office, even though it was still 20 min until closing. We rang the buzzer incase if they were on the grounds, waited 15 minutes. Nobody came. We tried calling the number and left a message. We waited until the next day, no call back. We went down to the office to see what's up and they said we didn't pay this months rent and charged around $60 in late fees. They charged our card right then and there. Later we went home and found the cashed check. They put the money towards another unit they said, BUT that unit doesn't even exist. When we found out that we did in fact pay and tried getting our money back, he said he had to talk to someone first. He just manages the complex. I just laughed, isn't this part of managing it? When confronted, man didn't even stand up or get up from looking from computer. WORST customer service. He just shrugged his shoulders when we caught him in a lie. He continued to lie as he was there. It was all pretty shady. We called the number on our receipts and the person we spoke to said he can't do anything. When asked for a supervisor or another number to call he refused to give it. The only redeeming factor is that we called the number listed on the website and it gave the number for Theresa at the Dublin storage. She has been amazing at communication and getting to the bottom of it. Maybe I should just move my stuff to her, I would much rather be doing business with her. read more

I am writing this review after waiting nearly three weeks since I needed a cooling off period after my experience on 8/20. I called and spoke with the same gentleman a couple of times to get information, I think his name was Jake. He was very nice and very helpful when I called and asked for information. I also called the Dublin location and spoke with Teresa who was also very nice and equally helpful over the phone. When I finally made my decision to go with the Airport location I called a week before we were getting ready to move essentially all of our belongings to storage since we sold our home. I asked Jake if I should come in beforehand and reserve my unit and fill out the paperwork, etc. He said I could do it the same day we would be moving all of our stuff in so long as the office was still open. It sounded like a terrible idea but I trusted him since he sounded like everything would be fine. I even asked several times, "so we are going to show up with a huge uhaul and I can reserve it the same day?" Over and over. The big moving day finally came and my husband headed to airport storage in a big uhaul and he called me to tell me that there was no one in the office and no one was answering the phone at the number it said to call if no on was answering the door. He was definitely there during office hours - we made sure of that, the uhaul truck was due back by 5 as well so my husband must have shown up around 3 pm and the office is supposed to be open until 6 pm. My husband calls me in a panic and doesn't know what to do. I was so upset. I called the Dublin location and spoke with Teresa and told her the situation and she said she would call Jake and tell him to call my husband. A few minutes go by and my husband calls me back and said that Jake called him back and said he had an emergency and WOULD NOT BE COMING BACK FOR THE DAY. That was it. I called Teresa back panicked and essentially begged for help. I asked if she would honor the Livermore price at the Dublin location as we were desperate and running out of time with the uhaul and had all of our belongings in it! She told me she couldn't manipulate prices and that was the end of that. Unacceptable. We ended up calling a storage place down the street who gave us a great deal and helped us through this stressful situation. It was unfortunate that this happened at Airport Self Storage. I do hope that everything was ok with Jake. But they shouldn't tell people they can show up with all their belongings if there is even the slightest chance that no one will be there to help them, even in an emergency. They lost out on a two-year minimum customer as we needed the storage long-term. Think twice before doing business here. read more

As for customer service, this place is great! Caroline was very accommodating and addressed all my concerns with a friendly attitude. I rented a 10x10 unit, and the rate was very affordable. The units are all outdoor/drive-up storage units. The place is right off the 580 freeway, and the units are available to access everyday from 7am to 8pm. I only gave it 4 out of 5 since the office system is a little archaic, and they do not accept credit cards. read more

Leave your things here if you want it stolen!! Theft seems to be a pattern and here's why... There is no security, no cameras, no one walking the premises to make sure things look right. When theft occurs, nothing changes. You might as well leave your things unlocked and wander off. A month ago, we had our unit broken into. Thousands of dollars worth of things stolen. But most importantly, memories that can't be replaced. It was heartbreaking. Same scenario as what others reported, all the lady did was "make a note of it". That's f-en fantastic. What good is that going to do? They are definitely lying, mistaken, whatever to say "this had never happened before". There are at least two other people who had their things stolen in the same time frame (read the reviews!) The thieves seem to know which units to open and were able to do it all in broad daylight. Suspicious to say the least. Needless to say, you get what you pay for. This place sucks. read more

I have read many reviews on here and wondered if the users writing them were just, well, negative all the time. I am generally a positive person, looking to save some money, believe that many mom and pop stores want to give good service to get repeat business, and want people to learn from my mistakes. I was never late with a payment and never complained about Airport Storage until now. Hopefully you will find this review helpful. Synopsis: AIPRORT STORAGE DOES NO PEST CONTROL WHAT SO EVER! DO NOT USE!! They do not do pest control and on top of that they lied to me several times that they did or they would take care of the issue. I had rat, not mice, rat droppings all over the place and roaches. Luckily I caught it in time so my couch was not ruined all though some of my art pieces were, and there were rat dropping and urine on my table (which I cloroxed). Ran into other customers who had the same issue. Detail: As of 12/9/2012 they still did not have rat stations out and they said they would last week. About 2 weeks ago after a big storm I went to my storage to make sure there were no leaks, there were none, however there were rat droppings and urine on my table. I called the next day and front desk person stated they had not baited since it was raining and they would that day. Well I went in that weekend, 2 days later, and I did not see any trap stations or bait out. I ran into some other tenants and they stated they had rat issues and they had not seen any pest stations out for months. This past weekend 12/8/2012 I went and looked at other Stoage locations in Livermore and they showed me the pest control bills, the outside rodent stations, and numerous places put rodent bait inside the lockers when new tenants move in. AIPRORT STORAGE DOES NO PEST CONTROL WHAT SO EVER! Even though I asked when I first moved in, they said they did. In short I have reliable sources stating they have not baited for months, the management has lied to me stating that they do in fact do pest control but nothing has been done, and finally the front desk person told me they would do something and they did not. This is par for the course because back in Aug my door was broken. I called the front desk to report it and the gentleman stated they would schedule something and give me a call. I did not hear back for 3 weeks. When I called again a nice young lady helped me out and stated she did not hear of any request but she took care of it within a couple of days. It took about 4 weeks to get a door repaired. In summary I would not use this place to store your valuables. They can get damaged from pests and vermon. Also they are all outside lockers, while this seems attractive at first, outside lockers actually get dirtier quicker cause dirt flies in the cracks when it's windy. Finally the over all payment method seems "shady". They only take cash or check and you have to mail it in or drop it off. No credit cards at all. "What's shady about that you ask?" They don't send you a monthly bill of any kind. You have no reciept of payment and further more they are quick to auction off your stuff. If you don't pay by 15 days they lock your stuff up, no letter. After a certian amount of time 20-25 days they can put your stuff up for auction and they do it quickly, and they send no letter. Basically if you are out for a month due to a major emergency you could lose everything with no communication at all. They don't even have auto bill pay from a credit card. Seriously avoid this place. Go some where else. Livermore has some great storage places way better than this. I thought I could save 20-30 a month but it's not worth it. The stress of wondering if your stuff is ruined, did the check go through, etc. Just go some where else. read more

You Get What YOU Pay for!!!! This is by far the worst place for a renter if you value your stuff. The lock on my unit was cut and replaced with another. When I asked the office about it, we came to the conclusion that the lock did not belong to myself or Airport Self Storage. Due to a flawed contract, I am not allowed to cut my own lock. Here is the thing IT'S NOT MY LOCK!!!! They wanted to charge me $40 to cut the lock off, when in the contract it says $50 does that sound suspicious?If I cut it myself I get a 30 day eviction notice. Well if my stuff has been ripped off I was going to leave anyway. So I cut the lock. After we opened it and looked back at pictures we have found a lot of stuff missing. I called the local police and started a report when the owner showed up and had me removed from site. What happened to a 30 day notice if I cut the lock off? Now I have to have a civil standby to be there to retrieve my belongings. With out Security cameras on the premises the thieves are going to get away with it. So I recommend spending $25 more and going just around the corner to Interstate storage where they have some of the tightest security I have ever seen at a storage facility. Rent at your own risk and remember, you Get What YOU pay for! read more

First of all, the customer service in the Livermore office is excellent. I hope the owner knows what he has here, she is great. Bad first impression, the signs in the office are very threatening and negative. I tried to sign up for automatic credit card payment ,but they charge an extra 5% for this!! What in the hell is that??? Most companies would want that, it seems like the owner WANTS you to be late so he can collect the late fees. I will eventually take my business to a facility that promotes prompt payment. read more

Excellent Customer service! Facility is clean and I haven't seen a weird tenant around. They have the best price in town. We used airport storage mid-2014 for storing our whole house for about a month when we had a few weeks between places. Price wise and location wise, we thought it was a good solution and the woman was friendly enough and extended hours for us. Almost enough for me to give this two stars but I just can't. I can not recommend this location to anyone, except maybe an enemy. I've never had to deal with cockroaches until storing our items at this storage facility. When unpacking the boxes from our unit, every 5 boxes or so, there would be a live cockroach. It was truly disgusting and infuriating. There were pincher bugs too but I can deal with those...not the roaches. I am writing this a year after the experience because we are still having to deal with these roaches. This storage facility is truly the gift that keeps on giving. I wish I had done more research as I would have gladly paid twice as much for another facility if I had known that there really is a cockroach problem at Livermore Airport Storage. If they could fix this, then they'd get a 4-5 star review. read more

Great facility. Every unit is clean and has drive up access. I have been a tenant here for many years. I recently needed to up grade to a larger unit mid month. They gave me a half months credit at the old rate and only charged me a half month at the new higher rate. The owner also had two of his employees help move my stuff into the new unit. Jennifer, the office manager, is absolutely the worst. She is rude, surly and completely lacks professionalism. Promises to call you back, when you have a problem, are empty. She will make comments such as "pleaseee" and "STOP!" if you are trying to express your dissatisfaction with their services. They will not hesitate to contact you and expect you to go out of your way if they want something (such as the key to your lock) but won't bother to handle your concerns or complaints. They raise prices without notice. There are plenty of other storage facilities and I strongly advise you to take your business elsewhere and to not be abused by Jennifer. read more
