Total SCAM !!!! The rent prices they offer are just a scam to get you in. Then 3 months later you get a big rent increase. Don't fall for this scam like I did. This is by far THE most god awful storage place on the planet! We have had our unit here for many years and didn't question any of their ridiculous price hikes. They started construction here sometime in 2023 and proceeded to remove all of the cameras as well as left the front gate wide open and not had anyone here in the business office as that too was torn down! They did not bother to inform any of the storage customers that there was not going to be any security and in fact our storage units were made readily available to any and all burglars and thieves in the area. Needless to say our unit was burglarized and the manager basically threw up her arms and said, "Sorry we didn't notify you of the complete lack of security here but we only notified people whose units were directly affected by the construction." The night when our unit was broken into the gate was completely left wide open and the Pleasanton police in their report noted that there was no security whatsoever at this facility. The employee on site informed me that between 15-20 units were burglarized over the last 3 months and for fear of losing revenue they didn't notify anyone other than the people whose units were burglarized. God forbid they look after people's belongings as losing units will affect their bottom line. "Profits above integrity always", should be Public Storages creed! read more

DO NOT BELIEVE THEIR PRICING!!!! BUYER BEWARE! Their model is this: 1) get you sucked in with very low pricing 2) downplay the size of possible price increases 3) raise price after 6 months. When I booked I was quite happy with the rate I was receiving. When I signed the paperwork there is a section that informs you the price could change. When I asked about it they told me it was nominal 'passing on operating costs' increases and it would probably not be much. I AM A SUCKER!!! I even asked if the price I was getting was a short-term promotional price or if it was my ongoing price. I was told it was my ongoing price excluding any of the above mentioned 'nominal' increases. So, now my price just went up 31.1%. That's a huge increase. When I called the central number to plead my case, there was zero willingness to help. Just a script they read for all the other suckers who undoubtedly call with the same issue. There are much nicer storage facilities a few blocks away. These units are old and musty smelling. I knew that going into it but they were also the cheapest when I booked and I wanted to keep the cost down. With the price increase it's pretty close to the other facilities in terms of cost and not nearly as nice. If you are only going to have it for a few months and like the cost, perhaps this could be a good place to rent. If you are going to keep it for longer I would consider renting from a more reputable company. read more

The rate hikes to park your Boat/RV has gone up tremendously every year. When I cancelled, it was a day or two past the month. And they charged me a whole month instead of pro-rating it. Its in the contract so be mindful of that. Very disappointing of the rate hikes...glad I moved. read more

Had an issue with the gate at the Boulder location. Spent an hour with the kiosk agents that tried to help , but in the end had to go to Stanley to speak to a manager. Paula and Michelle, tried to help me with the gate at the Boulder location, but in the end they helped me get the same size storage unit at their location. We rented a space for our 40" trailer and were told the space would be big enough to store it. The front gate was also broken when we arrived and we were told by John that it would be fixed within the week. The gate still wasn't repaired when we went back in to formally request the refund. Additionally the space we were told would fit our trailer would not because there was a large class A parked over the line infringing on the space we paid for. We have waited for a refund for over one month. I called Debbie to try and talk with her about the refund but she was so extremely rude I had enough. I am now pursuing the matter legally. A word of caution to anyone considering storing here. Word of advice please learn to tell time because the sign that you put on the door when you aren't there is never correct. read more

DO NOT rent a moving truck from these people. In 2004, they pulled a bait-and-switch trick on my wife and me when we rented from them. A lady quoted a price over the phone that sounded good, so we stopped looking at other companies. On moving day, we came in and the rate was suddenly raised significantly. A very rude, heavyset lady worked behind the counter. There was one positive part of our experience. My wife and I got a good laugh out of the fact that there was a certificate on the wall to commemorate the fact that the heavy lady had passed her "Truck-Rental Training Course." Awesome. read more

We had a storage space here for our motorhome. When we got our spot, it was not wide enough to allow it to enter or exit with vehicles on either side of us. The lady who setup our account agreed and said she would not put anyone to either side of our spot due to the restricted space. She said if she ever had to put someone next to us, she would give us proper advance notice so we could arrange to move the RV elsewhere. One day, we suddenly noticed a big rig parked directly next to us, only a few feet away, and restricting our ability to exit the spot. We never received the courtesy of any notice of this as previously agreed upon. We made arrangements to move our RV elsewhere as needed and canceled our spot. The lady we spoke with on the phone there tersely refused to give us a pro-rated refund for the remaining days of the month. The corporate office refused to respond to our letters, so we filed a complaint with the BBB and the matter was never resolved. read more

I got scammed into get insurance for my unit when my insurance agent indicated that most home owners insurances cover storage units. It's a total scam. After six months they increased my rates by more than 10% and they indicated they can raise to what ever they like as long as the provide you 30 days. It's a bad business and when you try to take to someone about your concerns about the rate changes they say it's all corporate decisions and they ultimately have no say over it. Great location, clean and well maintained. I see others said they weren't told about the upgrade on all the roll up doors. I'm not sure what happened but I thought the managers were very communicative. They told me in person and a voicemail. They're always onsite so even if you didn't receive the notice you got the keys to the new locks in the office and were able to get in easily. read more

Booking online was easy with great customer service and unbeatable pricing. With that being said the in person experience was completely different.. I finally pulled up to the facility fir the first time EVER 4/13/21 around 5:10pm (Office hours posted-close at 6pm) needing to know if they had a map etc.. needless to say office was close.. I then called the office no answer left message. So I drove around a little bit with my Travel-Trailer looking all around for my space. The Markings on the ground where faded (Numbers and section listing) so I parked and walked around for about 10-15 mins with no luck. I ended up sparking a conversation with another couple that was their and explained my situation while I was on hold with the 1-800# . After a good 10-15 mins I was connected with a live rep. The rep seemed concerned and eager to help yet explained they didn't have a map of the property. The rep stated they shouldn't of been close and suggested for me to talk with the site manager. The rep transferred me which led to a voicemail. I left a voicemail explaining I was on site and voiced my concerns. While I waited for a call back ,the wife from the couple I spoke with earlier walked up and said she might've found my space number. I looked and it seemed like it was ,maybe?! I thanked her has the couple left and proceeded to pull my T.T. around. Parked it , left to Walmart for a few locks (For the T.T) came backed secured it and proceeded to leave. Still till this day 2/15/21 ( 2 days later) no response back from the site manager nor the office with the messages I had left. No follow up, no concern it seems. No biggie it seems yet if I'm traveling from Santa Clara to Pleasenton it would be simple thing with a follow up call. It did leave a ignored feeling. I did return 4/15/21 to show my son the T.T. considering he was at work when me & my wife bought and stored it same day. When I was driving thru I ran into a lady on a golf cart that worked their and I told the worker I was unsure if the space I parked my T.T. was the correct space. The worker assured me that the space I'm describing was the right one. Confident enough about it I continued on with showing my son and left. read more

They sold me a 10 x 10 space that was supposed to be 100 sq feet. I got a space that was less than 8 x 8. Judi, tyhe onsite manager, said that there space was approximate. I would have understood 9' x 6", but two feet less and 36 square feet less??? Judi told me that I could take it our leave it and they would give me my money back. I got 64 sq feet when I paid for 100 sq feet. They also force you to buy one of their locks for $20.00 I would not recommend this location to anyone. read more

I would give this place 0 stars if I could. The manager is an absolute nazi and never available. We went three separate times with signs saying the manager was out and would return later without her ever being back at the time on the sign. My mom has used this facility for 2 years and when I went to open my own unit as a new customer, they refused to give us the new client discount just because I was moving MY OWN STUFF from her unit into mine. Not to mention she was extremely hostile and accused us of trying to scam her. Are you kidding me? So instead of getting an entirely new client at the discount rate, she'd rather lose two customers. Do not rent from here!!! We have been with them for 2 years and right from the beginning there customer service has sucked. One, their rent structure is outrageous with the incremental increases to your rent and the frequency of these increase is ridiculous. They provide no explanation to why the rent increases as often as it does. Second, they scratched up my husband's very expensive bike when they needed access to the storage. Today we went in to discuss our account and the sign on the door say manager will return at 4:50pm, it was well after 5pm and no manager. Changed our unit door lock as part of a lock upgrade, claimed to have left a voice message, but did not say anything to my wife when she actually visited in person (when paying a bill). Further, would not give me the new key because the contract was in my wife's name, even when I presented our old keys, our unique gate code, and a photo ID with a matching 11 letter last name. Originally we found a deal online, but the discounted unit was too small and now we are overpaying for poor service. read more

Facility is decently located and seems to be well maintained. Review is mainly for the poor communication and sales tactics from the site managers. In my short tenure there I've been forced into buying insurance even though I have homeowners that covers this (strong-arm tactic from corporate I'm sure, not totally the manager's fault) and have also been chased down on site and accused of not having enough money in my account to pay the bill (there was a glitch between the online payment interface - are you seriously as a professional going to lead with your account was deficient? TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE EXPERIENCE). Long story short - this saves me money in the long run because I no longer want to deal with them so I'm going to move out of my storage unit much sooner than anticipated. District Management was quite helpful and I appreciate her help in trying to rectify. read more

Are we talking about the same place? These reviews are soooo far off from my experience. It was a nightmare. The manager makes up her own rules and changes them as needed. She cannot handle stress and freaks out when the least bit overloaded. The office is not consistently open so it is frustrating when you need help. The billing requirements and fees are rediculous. My boxes were full of cockroaches when we went to get them. They did not arrive that way. I would not recommend this place to my worst enemy. read more
