Great neighborhood and very convenient drive up locations as well as the smaller less expensive and harder to access spots. Doors are open till late. Very very clean and in a super safe neighborhood. If you have valuables this is the kind of place you would want to store them. Fairly convenient to the highway even if you are coming from a city away. Store valuable things here - it isn't free. Don't store junk. read more

Let me start by saying that the staff at Pleasanton Extra Space are amazing, kind, and helpful, especially Vanessa. My review is not about the facility or the staff, it is about the pricing. I just received a rental increase of 34% which was an additional $176 per month. As a senior citizen, I cannot afford a monthly increase this drastic. There are other facilities in Pleasanton, some that are climate controlled that are renting for less than my current rate with Extra Space. There are rules for rent increases for housing; maybe we need to contact our state representatives to suggest rules and limits on increases for storage rental fees as 34% is both shocking and unreasonable, in my opinion. read more

Vanessa was awesome, she was thorough and took the time to show us a couple of units, and walked us through the entire rental process. She listened and made us feel that we were a valued customer. Thank you Extra Space Storage for your Great Customer Servic! read more

Dont go here!! They have been increasing my rent consistently since I started using it 3 years ago. It started at 102.00 and is now 230.00!! ridiculous!! Time to move out!! read more

This is my first time getting a storage unit, I have a lot of anxiety about my belongings, being separated with me or putting it in the area where I don't have 24 hours surveillance. Vanessa has been so phenomenal, I have never met anyone who has such amazing customer service, who is so friendly, kind, patient and understanding. I had so many questions that she was so happy to help me with! I feel like most places don't work with customers and only follow company policy, but Vanessa really works with you as being a client, she really wants her customers to feel reassured when renting out a space. I am so glad I picked this place! Thank you so much, Vanessa for all your help and for answering all my questions. read more

My piano my guitar chairs were all soiled and ruined if I can only post my piano my guitar the wood pulverized from the rain and heat. Water leaked inside the storage they don't have a roof to protect your property but a tarp . I took them to small claims they have so many corporate names to evade being served. This company just want to take your money but don't maintain a normal building that will protect your personal effects from rain and the sun that they are charging so much money for. Stay away from this company. My piano ,guitar chairs are all ruined. I lost a lot of money and memories . They're suppose to protect my property that I entrusted to them and been paying them lots of money for a long time instead they ruined everything. Stay away if I were you. read more

I was looking for a dependable and trustworthy storage for my furniture being shipped from overseas while looking for a place to stay. The folks working at the Pleasanton branch, Vanessa and Marcos, were so friendly and helpful. I told them I needed to see the space before I booked and Marcos was extremely patient and helped me address all of my concerns with my delivery company. Marcos also took the time to explain all the processes involved as well as the terms and conditions. The place is clean and well-kept. The facilities is well- maintained. Most importantly, I feel that my shipment has found a temporary good home and is in good hands. read more

You know all storage places are the same. They're all out to get you and stick it to you. I thought I had found the perfect place. Somewhat close to my home, clean, easy to access, and reasonable rates. I been here less than 2 years, and have already experienced three rates incrreases. Each time, they send this damn postcard. And I know what's in it. Blah blah...cost of business increasing, this and that. Sure. I think all these places make a killing - I really should get in to the storage business. For what it's worth, this place is very clean and the ladies up front nice. If you must rent storage, then I guess this is the place to go. read more

Been there a short time. They raise your rent every three to four months. I was paying $131 very small storage unit and they raised it to $231. Completely off from where I started. It's been raised a couple of times and it hasn't even been a year. So if you want to pay someone who raises your space this is the spot. Moving out way cheaper places. BEWARE!!!!! read more

Very easy and user friendly. I went to the website and registered online effortlessly. After making payment received email with gate code and storage number. Went the same night to take my things, their was already a sealed lock inside. Haven't had to deal with anyone. Facility is clean and up kept read more

I was having an extremely stressful day until I walked inside and was greeted by the welcoming smile given by Hannah from her desk. She made me feel as if I walked into the home of someone that I already knew! She explained all of the ins and outs of the property with great detail, and answered all of my questions with the same level of care a mother would give a child, and did it without a condescending tone (like most moms with adult children*TMI*HAHA)! I hate spending money, especially for a storage unit filled with things that don't need to be readily available; but I was quite impressed how knowledgeable she was about the facility, the safety, and the rapport she had with the other customers she interacted with! You're gonna think she owns the place as you watch her multitasking and managing all at once, and while giving you 100% of your attention! Hannah's ability to offer me an extra sense of security for not only peace of mind, also for the protection of the possessions that still hold value to me! A unit is just a unit; but a friendly face and genuinely caring professionalism is the extra incentive I needed to make this transaction one that was actually worth it! read more

The staff was professional and helpful. The unit was clean, unlike other different businesses I've used in the past. Highly recommend this location. read more

I am a repeat customer with ESS off N. Vasco between living in Livermore & moving out of state. . I've worked with Kristina several times. She is so kind, patient, and organized. The property is always clean and quiet! I visit my storage units often and always see Kristina around the property working and checking in. She goes above and beyond and is the perfect person for the job :) Would highly recommend to anyone whose looking to store there things! read more

Disappointed! We have been loyal customer to this facility for over two years. We check in regularly to ensure all is good and to access our stuff we need. We spotted feces and immediately knew they must be from rats. Naturally, we were disappointed and the usual great customer service disappeared from the staff. Our storage was full of our furniture, clothes and decor. No food or anything that would attract the vermin. They asked to view the storage and blandly accused us of having food, we happily obliged and told them they can inspect to ensure and asked them to check with nearby owners to contain the problem if we can find out the culprit. They simply responded- no one complained. Thus, this review- please check your units for traces (ours are indoors) and yes, we are moving out to much secure and cleaner facility. Just a heads up! They also obviously had complaints or those photographed wouldn't be there. read more

Great customer service and very nice facility. They are very knowledgeable and helped me figure out what I need before I'm actually ready to rent. My family member passed away recently, so I've been shopping around trying to find a decent place for their things. read more

Great facility. Felt very safe and well maintained. Staff was very cordial. Checkin and checkout was very smooth.

Everything is great as long as there are no problems.. our door was easily opened WITH their padlock I purchased. The on site staff is completely incompetent. I waited 4 business days for a resolution to my problem, only got one because I called 3 days in a row. The resolution was a full refund, meaning I have to search and buy a different unit in one day (because they took all week to call me back). The on site manager offered me a smaller unit after I had repeatedly told her that I needed one comparable in size. The call center staff was very friendly although because of the poor management and incompetent on site staff, I will be moving my belongings. read more

TRIPLE EDIT: ANOTHER friggin' $10 price hike with no justification or explanation. Starting in October it will now be around $100 to rent a measly 5x7' storage space at this location; that's just ludicrous! DOUBLE EDIT: Dropping another star due to yet another $10 price hike. EDIT 5/10/12: Dropping my review to a 4/5 Stars due to a monthly $10 price hike that went into effect for all Extra Space Pleasanton customers last month. As if consumers don't already have enough to pay for each month.... I've been with Extra Space Storage, Pleasanton for about three years and have never really had any major issues aside from the climbing monthly rental rates. Their staff is very courteous and are there on the grounds should you need them. However, I have had to lower my rating on account of the price hikes. The grounds are well monitored, well landscaped and maintained, and the storage facilities (pathways includes) are always free of dirt and debris. There are a bevy of size and location options: inside, outside, upstairs, and downstairs. Aside from the on-site courtesy carts, they have great access hours, but again, the rental price hikes have forced me to lower my score...a few times. It really is a shame that they don't offer a loyalty program for those who have been there for years and have set up reoccurring, automatic payments. read more

Regardless of what their website says, they do NOT pro-rate you for days you don't use on your last month!! DO NOT RENT HERE UNLESS YOU ARE PREPARED TO BE RIPPED OFF. BEWARE. I am paid through May 5th 2014, but advised them on MARCH 19th that I'd be vacating April 19th. I made my final payment on a Sunday (when they are closed) and when I finally reached someone today, I was told that because I didn't tell them on the day my payment was due (A SUNDAY - WHEN THEY WERE CLOSED) that I wouldn't be able to be refunded the balance of the month after I vacated the unit. The girl on the phone actually told me that I "can stay in the unit until May 5th", but they don't pro-rate. Yes, lady, changing my move date because you don't honor your website's promises is something that is reasonable and feasible. Terrible terrible customer service. read more

Well run, with useful units and good access It's clear they take care to keep the property in good order: The dollies are always put back in the same place, the elevators and hallways are clean, and as I mentioned the front desk is run like a tight ship. read more

I had a great experience using this facility with Petra's help. She was working alone but was still able to accommodate myself and several other customers. I've rented a storage space here for years and always had a great experience dealing with the the Extra Space Storage folks. But hats off to Petra who helped me with the move-out. After calling storage places around, this one was able to beat every price around. Another plus is this location has the best access hours of any storage place around. So my girlfriend and I had both fell on financial problems and we couldn't make our payments regularly but we tried to all the time. Petra over at ex space was decent for the most part, but you can tell in the tone of her voice that every time my girlfriend or I would call to make a payment she was annoyed. To make a long story short, today we lost our stuff to auction due to not making our payment. OK yeah its our fault and all but Petra made us feel like complete crap when I called to find our what my staus was on our unit. Everytime we called we dread her answering the phone, like I said she was polite and all but you can definitely tell she was annoyed and sitting behind her desk probably rolling her eyes. So therefore I give this review a 2 star because I really didn't feel welcomed or anything. It was dreadful all the time. read more
