Today I went to check on my storage because I had not been back there for over 5-6 years! Amber helped me and she was very sweet and helpful! I finally closed out my storage after several years because I realized today that I didn't have much in there and I can fit what I have in my garage and apartment. Thank you, Amber for making my experience very pleasant! read more

Exceptional service and peace of mind! Choosing Valley Self-Storage was the best decision I made. Johanna is incredibly friendly and made the storage process hassle-free. She exceed expectations, especially knowing some places disregard their customers. I highly recommend this location to anyone looking for a top-notch storage company. read more

One thing we can all agree on is that moving is stressful. I was on Yelp gathering quotes and came across Valley Storage. The location for me works well and the pricing is reasonable. My sisters got storages at another facility run by a different company and have been dealing with issues ranging from the condition of the unit to charges beyond what was agreed upon. I'm considering myself lucky that I was the procrastinator and found Valley Storage. Paying for the unit and signing online was effortless. Reaching the site has been a breeze. Johanna has been the most pleasant and helpful person over the phone in history. She made sure I was set to go and has been so informative. I really appreciate the service that she provided, especially in times where so many people are often rude or projecting their attitudes towards customers. Thanks again Johanna, again it stands out when you do things effortlessly! read more

Super helpful service and great prices! Amber was a delight to work with. The storage yard is really clean and easy to access

We moved out today. Tim was great in helping make the process easy and fast, Highly recommended.

Amber lancaster helped me today with my unit and parking spot. She offer great deals and she was very nice. I recommend coming here for your storage. They make things flexible and it's really easy to get in. read more

My experience today with Valley Storage couldn't have been much better. I made an internet reservation and Joseph called me almost immediately to confirm and answer any questions I had. When I arrived, Joseph was kind, efficient and got me in and out quickly. He even gave me a ride to the BART, going well above and beyond. I only need to use this facility for a few months but my first impression was excellent. Thanks, Joseph, for taking such good care of me today. read more

Had a great experience working with Johanna (sp?) over at Valley Storage! On Sunday my husband and I had a truckload of items to put in storage and when we arrived, the door on our unit would not open (it was stuck on the rails). We called the Service number not expecting to hear anything back for a few days and were pleasantly surprised when we immediately rec'd a call back from Johanna and she cheerfully offered to meet us at the unit and help us get it open. She was an absolute pleasure to work with. Very professional and courteous and just a very cheerful person! 5 stars for great Customer Service!!!! read more

This is the first time I rented a storage unit and didnt have a great experience. The customer service from the manager was poor and unprofessional. I rented this unit right before Covid-19 SIP. I got constant emails and calls about my payment being due. I tried to sign online to pay for the bill and couldnt. I called the manager, Lizet Ortiz, to get help and she failed offer help and didnt know how to help and told me I had to call or come by every month to pay it. I got constant phone calls when I didnt pay by the first and threatened that I would be charged late fees and lien fees if I didnt pay. I was charged these fees several months of renting this space. Even during a time that most companies werent charging extra fees and knowing people are having a hard time paying anything. I talked to the manager on the phone asking why I keep getting charged these extra fees on top of the full price I was paying for the storage unit. I wasnt rude in any way and the manager hung up on me! I decided to cancel the storage space and move out at that point. I filled out a complaint online on storage pros site and got a call from the DM . Told her what happened and she agreed to credit me the fees and NEVER got credit. Dont rent from this storage unit! read more

I've been using Valley Storage since moving from my house into a smaller apartment (well over a year now). They keep the property very clean, their security is top-notch, and I have received excellent service from Joseph every step of the way. Knowing your valuables are safely tucked away is total peace of mind. read more

Joseph was extremely helpful in reserving a unit for myself and my sister. He worked it out where we could share and save money. It is much appreciated, thank you! read more

The ***** go to Marc Owen, not the manager. One of my storage units was broken into. Marc called me as soon as he saw the lock was missing. When Marc is on duty, I frequently see him going around the facility checking locks on each unit. Because of the breakin, I lost many things which were of personal value to me. It is heartbreaking. There is only one security camera at the facility. It is at the front gate, there are none inside. Another tenant told me that she had been told there were about six breaking prior to mine. I reported, on several occasions, that I saw men jumping over the cement block walls to enter and/or exit the facility. Some even brought bicycles with them. Had there been security cameras, upper manament could have viewed this activity. The manager could not bother to call me when she went to work. About two weeks prior to the breakin, I told The manager, who looked at the lock at the time I found it, that it looked like someone had done something to my lock. She said, "It must be because of the weather." That is preposterous, it is an inside lock. On another issue, I do not like receiving an email message which went out to all the tenants. The message had the address of each tenant. Common sense dictates each of the addresses should be sent by way of a Bcc not to the To address. Again, I thank Marc for his diligence in checking each lock more than once each day. That is how my breakin was found. read more

SAM is the man for the best service in storage. My sister passed away and i had two days to clear out her things and needed short-time storage. i went to various storage units nearby and they were either full or could not help me. After some frustration i discovered Valley Storage and SAM. He was VERY compassionate, helpful, and juggled things around so i could move into a unit immediately. I had questions, needed advice, and he was there helping to problem-solve various options in clearing my sisters things and shipping them. Storage units must run as a business but can offer services that are advertised. Behind those doors and company names are individuals, like SAM, that, when given the opportunity, make a real difference and give deeper meaning to "Service". Personally, i will never forget his words and difference he made in helping me get through this phase. If you are searching to solve your storage problems, please consider seeing SAM, he makes things happen. another grateful customer-Thank you SAM! :) read more

Pros: 1) A lot closer to where I live, compared to my previous storage place (1.9 miles vs 9.1 miles) 2) Value - I paid 1/2 of what a was paying for the same amount of space. 3) And I could just drive my car directly by the front door (it was a drive-up unit). What an excellent deal! Con: Just one - access hours close at 7 pm. (Not really a big deal, as I normally go there in the mornings). A storage place that won't break your budget. read more

Be prepared to pay for an entire month upon moving out. They do not pro rate!!! I was there 2 days into the new month/billing cycle and had to pay $100. Moving is costly, so to have to pay this on top of moving was very disappointing. read more

Had an excellent experience touring this facility today. I have a friend who currently rents a unit and decided to do some comparison pricing while here. If I could give this a hundred stars, I would! I'm not going to list all the wonderful things the manager Sam did for us and the amazing way he treated my elderly mother because there is not enough space here. I have worked in customer service and I can tell you he is top notch. I honestly left feeling as if Sam was a family friend, If you think I am lying I dare you to deal with Sam and not be satisfied. I DARE YOU. And he watches that place like a hawk. He goes above and beyond. read more

Drug deals and people living there. Rent hikes frequently, and now when I have already set up auto pay, they have not taken my payment out and I am getting threatening text messages. I've had my belongs stored at this facility periodically over 2 decades and for good reason..this is the hidden gem of storages with the best customer service you can find. I originally chose this storage facility because of the price, Valley Storage was the cheapest for the small 5x5 unit I needed. I wasn't thrilled with the "limited" gate access hours....7am-7pm...7days wk. ..It's still 90 degrees in Livermore at 7pm....and you need a good half hr. to make it out the gate by 7, so your really looking at 6:30....not even time for most people to get there in time on a work day!!. , I'm still not happy about it ( it's been about a year now). , and they don't bend that rule even for a rare occasion...like moving your stuff from another facility in another city....round trip time.approx. 2 hrs..not counting loading, unloading using 2 ( if your lucky) very small, barely functional carts up the scary elevator ( after first having to often times use the stairs first to send the elevator back down,***oops, did I mention you better lift the elevator door to make sure there are carts in there first, ...you catch on after a couple trips..), now send it down and run back down the stairs to load! Uhhgg!!! **Dress lightly because you will work up a sweat before you've even begun to load items onto carts. Like I said, about a yr now & I have not once found a cart in good condition, not even fair condition, one of them has no handle just rickety strips of wood on wheels that you must maneuver by bending and pushing by hand...ARE YOU FRIGGIN KIDDING ME!! the other cart is missing a bolt so it is a challenge at best! *** Word of advice, once upstairs take a peek down the aisle you need to use to get to your unit, (I learned the hard way the first time ), if there is someone who's got their stuff out of the unit & in the aisle you won't be able to get by them you will have to turn around & go another route. ****You might want to bring one of those battery operated lanterns, there are no lights in the unit itself....*** I keep mine in the unit at all times...I also keep an electric standing floor fan to prevent heat stroke!!! no ventilation...no air, no breeze...no water....IT'S DEFINITELY NOT A DAY AT THE BEACH!! also be prepared to SHARE the use of your cart/carts...pretty sure there are 2 available which must accomodate all upstairs units.......NO...I'M NOT JOKING!! I am not one to complain ( not joking ), even in spite of everything I encountered I figured..."you get what you pay for, and considering the price it was still a good deal and I just dealt with the shortcomings, ...UNTIL AFTER JUST 8 MONTHS I RECEIVED NOTICE OF A RATE INCREASE .......not the usual, typical $5.00 or so , my little 5x5 went from $34.00 mo. to $47.00 mo. Suddenly, not a bargain anymore, *******A few things have not changed however......**SAME BROKEN CARTS ( 2 OF THEM ), UNREASONABLE, INCONVENIENT ACCESS HRS. ...NO LIGHTING, NO VENTILATION.....ETC...ETC... i don't understand how these places can keep getting away with gouging the public, with no limits set on rate increases, or how often they can keep raising prices........This kind of practice is unacceptable and it's time the laws/ business codes applicable to SELF-STORAGE FACILITIES were UPDATED!! *** In the letter regarding my rate increase they said........"due to increase costs to maintain quality service and equipment we provide to our customers. blah blah...blah blah.... ***NOW....THAT IS A JOKE!!! I will say this without hesitation..............and with sincerity The woman in the office...."KATY" is a very pleasant, personable, and professional delight. Always, friendly, smiling and just a genuinely nice person, never any problems. , or delays. I was thinking maybe a petition signed by tenants might help to gain longer gate access hrs? I think 9pm is reasonable......any one with an opinion? And new carts, maybe a couple more of them as well would not be asking too much....am I right?!! I believe most of the complaints I've mentioned are legitimate and should be standard practice..........I can't think of another type of business offhand that doesn't have to abide by some kind of law or code., thats what makes a business work.....RIGHTS.....AND RESPONSIBILITIES..... and yet self-storage businesses are not bound by the typical protocol, they are allowed to Do or Not do as they deem fit...IT JUST DOESN'T MAKE ANY SENSE TO ME, and I think it's time they adhere to the same FAIR Principles and ETHICS as any other business in this State of California!!! Valley Storage is a great business! It is clean, safe, well-maintained and easy to access. Shauna is the full-time manager and is so very warm, friendly and helpful. I have rented a space there for almost two years, recently added another space and will be adding a third space next month. If I could give Shauna 10 stars I would. It seems that friendliness and serving customers kindly is a rapidly disappearing art form, so when I experience it in a place of business these days I am impressed.
