As a kid, this place was the middle point between my hometown in Huntington, and Salt Lake where we would visit family. We always loved getting our shakes and hamburgers to fuel our energy for the rest of the drive. We would ooh and ahh at the peacocks running around freely and feed the psychic "game" thing, that beckoned you: "Fortune for a qurater? I love quarters!" Now as an adult, when I go back just for old times sake, I am disappointing. The quality isn't so great, the freshness isn't there. I dunno, maybe that's why my mom took us there all the time, cause our little kid palate couldn't tell the difference. But dammit I'm sad I can't enjoy it anymore. I love places like this. They are completely opposite on the inside than they are on the outside. After reading the reviews, I figured I should take the locals' word for it, and ignore all of the tourists who were 'too good' for a locally owned place like this. It was AMAZING!!! Sooooo much food for so little money. And so yummy, too. It's good ol, homemade diner food. If you're in the mood for some fried food and meat sandwiches, this is your place. My friend got a grilled ham and cheese, she could barely finish it because of how big it was, and I got a cheeseburger. Absolutely delicious, friendly staff, and great quaint experience. read more

Went here for some hot chocolate after going to the Festival of Lights. The place was busy which was to be expected since lots of people seemed to be coming from the festival. They did not have enough people working, and it took over 45 minutes to get 4 hot chocolates. I might have overlooked the slow service if the restaurant hadnt been so dirty and grungy looking. I love this Restaurant. The prices are moderate. The food is excellent except for It seemed like some of the soda was missing carbonation but other than that it is wonderful. Also they make perfect fries that are large not greasy but still moist and salted. It is also utterly convenient as it is next to the gas station. read more

My first date with my now-husband included The Little Acorn and has been my favorite restaurant ever since! I request to go here every Valentines Day, for my birthday, any other time I can, and I am always recommending the Little Acorn to friends, family, coworkers, etc. I LOVE the food!! It's super super yummy, fresh, made-to-order and delicious!! I love the basic cheeseburger and fries, plus they have the best fry sauce I've ever tasted. The price is very excellent for the quality. I think my meal combo is around 6.00 and I can never finish the entire thing. Everything speaks quality about Little Acorn. You seriously don't want to miss this great place. I've been eating here for YEARS. During that time, they have changed owners several times, so the service changes. Currently I would say there Grilled Cheese are not as delicious as they used to be. They used to have light fluffy thick slices of homemade bread to make these awesome grilled cheese. But the ones lately seemed to have heavy bread that didn't taste as good, the cheese was on the skimpy side didn't even cover the bread, the shakes are still delicious, and I have no complaints about there Pastrami burgers. Also, there frys no longer have there secret seasoning on it, they just have salt, which isn't so secret. I will still eat there from time to time, but I will not be getting there grilled cheese and I will not expect exceptional fries just normal fries. :) read more

Was heading out of Spanish Fork Canyon on the 4th of July when my 11 year old son said he was hungry. Wife and I always like to try local restaurants instead of chains so she suggested we give Little Acorn a try even though we've driven by it many times. Son ordered chicken strips and fries and a milkshake, wife ordered one of the burgers and I had the burger with pastrami. Three of us absolutely loved it and will definitely be back. read more

Small-town, hole-in-the-wall, drive-in. I love that you can find places like this scattered in rural, Utah towns. The food was decent, the shakes pretty good, the atmosphere charming. They had fry sauce - which is always fun if you're in Utah. Most of all, the staff: wow. The two boys working the counter were pretty young teenagers, but they were so nice: opening doors, making suggestions, giving a little bit extra. If you can get teenagers to do good service, I'm impressed. read more

When my boss says I'm taking you out for free shakes, I'm in a great mood! My whole crew walked in and got our shakes in less than 10 mins. They advertise fresh fruit shakes. The banana is a fresh banana that they blend up in the ice cream. The peach, strawberry and raspberry are not fresh but rather a thick syrup (the kind with chunks of fruit in it). I actually loved my peach shake the ice cream was nice and smooth and while actual chunks of peach would have been better. I was pleased with what I got. The place smells really good, like a burger joint. The staff is friendly and quick. I would have taken a picture of the shake, but it was gone so fast. :) read more

Stopped in here as a family in a road trip to avoid the franchise places. After eating Little Acorn's "food" I would have rather had greasy chicken in a truck stop. My kids had over-cooked chicken fingers. My wife's turkey sandwich looked like the meat was from Land o Frost. My burger was small and circular placed on large square pieces of bread. 2 stars is generous. I know this place had been there forever, but is no gem. Can't explain how disappointing it was to eat here. Place hasn't been cleaned in a few years, and duck tape on booth seats and no sense of caring. Good, what to say? They use a lot of Texas toast which is much larger then anything inside the bread. Frozen meat patty's, barely any tomato or cheese or whatever else is suppose to make up their sad sandwich fare. I can say the only good item was their fries, Other than that not sure why anyone would spend money here! Please clean this Dive! read more

Little Acorn is a little off the highway dive (dive in a positive sense). The food is regular hamburger and fries. I had the chicken mushroom teriyaki sandwich and strawberry shake. The sandwich was really good, the bread was a bit too thick for me. The shake was more sugary then I'm used too. I think it had strawberries and syrup in it. If your looking for a quick place to stop before heading into the canyon, this is a good stop. read more

Great service! Sandwiches are made fresh when ordered and the bread is homemade! I always get the Chicken Teriyaki Mushroom sandwich on the homemade bread with fries and a drink. The portions are massive. The fry sauce here is amazing. I asked about the sauce and the employee said that it was also homemade. Once in a while I will stop to buy a loaf of the homemade bread to take home and make french toast with. It is wonderful! read more

This place is in such a convenient location, it's the perfect spot to go eat some decent food for lunch rather than eating food for my work. They take quite a while to make the food, but all in all the good is pretty good so it makes up for it. Cost isn't too bad either so it's a perfect spot to get some grub. read more

For years my family and I have been stopping have an awesome Spanish Fork Canyon in our travels. Today we stopped and it being a Sunday it wasn't very busy at all. We were the only customers inside the restaurant. When we arrived there was two employees a young man an hour side of the counter flirting and carry on. We placed our order and got our meals all the while the flirting at the front counter continued. As we were trying to eat our meals their conversation got louder and louder and disturbing. Being that we were being. Annoyed we started observing the cleanliness of the restaurant. The floors were dirty the tables were wiped off but not clean. They were sticky and nasty. And all the years a picture noising this restaurant we had never seemed it in such a disarray especially when there were employees standing around carrying on loudly disturbing what customers there was. We then started to critique the quality of our food which we had noticed has gone down from our last visit approximately a year ago. The homemade bread didn't taste like homemade bread anymore. The quality and quantity of the meat on the sandwiches greatly been reduced and the lettuce tasted sour. Only thing that seemed consistent from the past what's the french fries. The drinks tasted like soda water with coloring in it. We tried different soda flavors with the same results. We would have been better off with water. We decided that for now on that we will more than likely stopped in town to one of the new establishments along the highway there instead of the Little Acorn. It will be sad to be driving by without stopping after all these years. I wish them luck and re-establishing the quality of the food for those visiting their establishment. read more
