Coming from San Diego, it is really tough to beat the Mexican food. I gotta say I thought the food left a lot to be desired. There wasn't a lot of flavor. For the price, I would have expected a full-service sit down restaurant. I see they have a bloody mary bar now but I don't think that is enough to get me to go back. A menu reboot would have to be it. read more

We love to get breakfast burritos on the weekend from Limón. The patio is great and a wonderful place to enjoy the delicious chips and salsa. read more

Our new go to place for Mexican breakfast. It is really good and very authentic. I had the Chorizo hash, refried beans, fried egg with fresh homemade guacamole and tortillas. Excellent, layered flavors and great texture - I.e. not greasy. Can't wait to try their chilaquiles and huevos Rancheros. By the way, they also have good standard breakfast items. My wife really enjoyed her pancakes, but they also have omlettes, etc read more

I highly recommend visiting Limon Urban Kitchen. The service provided by Josh and Uriah was outstanding. The chicken fajitas also were great. read more

Our second Taco Tuesday was just as great as the first one. The place has a nice vibe and is spotless. The staff are all friendly and attentive. The complimentary homemade salsa (first rate) and warm chips are a nice way to start. We've had the carne asada, chile lime shrimp, beer battered fish and carnitas tacos. All were delicious and well dressed. Appealing presentation. We are eager to try some of the entrees so we'll come back for tamale Thursday and for the live music on Saturday. Kudos to owners, management, servers and the kitchen for making it all come together so well. read more

Our first visit and it was a home run. Best happy hour in the North Valley. We had street tacos: corn tortillas (yes, please!), crispy, delicate, fish and perfectly seasons and grilled asada. The complimentary homemade salsa and crispy chips were a great kickoff. Delicious, quality margaritas. Spotlessly clean. Nice ambiance. Lots of TVs for sports events. Despite being stuffed, we had churros. Yum! A nice homemade creamy lemon dipping sauce on the side. The presentation of all the food was top notch. Service was excellent, prompt, friendly, knowledgeable. We will become regulars. read more

It is similar to chipotle or cafe rio- you go down the line & the employees will make your food for you. The food isn't amazing but the atmosphere is nice & the customer service has been great. They have indoor & outdoor seating with a bar. Kids eat free on Wednesday's, which is when we go. Instagram.com/lifeinphoenixaz read more

Stopped in to have a meal. I was seated at a table and given a menu. I sat for 10 minutes and no acknowledgement. A couple was seated behind me and they were greeted immediately. Needless to say, I chose to leave and never to return. I spent my money elsewhere. read more

I used To come a lot before the remodel. Loved the food. It was a similar set up to chipotle but tasted better in my opinion. And I could get it delivered so that was even better. Drinks are pricey but they taste good. Just don't expect to end up with a buzz lol Came today for happy hour for the first time since the remodel and I probably won't be back, which is sad bc it's so close to my house. Food is more expensive and didn't taste the same as before the remodel. Happy hour wasn't a great deal. Service was not great either. Idk if there were staffing problems or something, but the guy behind the bar didn't acknowledge me for a while while cussing and complaining about something about a waitress outside. He and an older woman server argued about whatever the problem was. It was weird. Like, take that into a back room or something. Other servers and customers were like making eyes afterwards. He was intense. The service was definitely mediocre before the remodel, but I was like it's not a sit down restaurant so whatever. You'd think service would be better if you're gonna make it a sit down place, but it definitely wasn't. There was a girl bartender that was nice. read more

Great place! Killer Tacos, cold beer and nice atmosphere inside. I just put them on.my.list of favorite Phoenix Area places. This was my 2nd time here and it was really good both times. I wish they gave you free chips and salsa like a lot of places do but oh well. The place is kind of hidden but worth the effort. I hope they open one over by Happy Valley and Lake Please t someday! read more

Did a take out order and didn't have any flavor. Also was charged $15 for a small taco salad bowl. Very pricey for a small portion. After I was done eating stomach started cramping really bad for the rest of the day. read more

Not impressed at all. Baseball field nacho cheese is not what I expect from a restaurant. All in all totally gross.

Second chance and I won't go back. The first visit was right after they opened, with the identity crisis of a Chipotle and a bar. The food wasn't great and the service was way distracted. Today's visit saw a full service experience. They want to be a sports bar now and we couldn't hear each other talking, nor the server, over the volume of the TV. Ordering and the expediting of food took too long, same for getting the bill and paying. The basic condiments for the type of food we had had to be asked for and took longer than expected. The food is okay. read more

Disappointed with this local joint .. the $10.00 guacamole was clearly not made in house disappointment # 1. Disappointment #2 was the street tacos I order, one carne and one chicken recommended by waitress (who was the best thing about this place ). Chicken taco was not even edible it was in some kind of marinade that wasn't appetizing so I didn't eat it . One would think living in AZ ,heart of the southwest their would be several GOOD local Mexican food joints everywhere. I struggle to find one in the north valley so I continue to just make it at home myself. Here are my suggestions if interested: 1-make your own guacamole it's not that difficult and I wouldn't mind paying 10 bucks if it was house made . 2-the head chef should be taste testing the food everyday making sure the seasonings are correct.. I think you start there and you would be on your way to becoming a great local spot worth waiting for. read more

I really liked the menu...unique flair to traditional Mexican. Lots of different options which I liked. The brunch menu looks really good. Atmosphere was cool, nice indoor/outdoor bar and patio with misters, and lots of tvs if you're wanting to watch sports. We got guacamole appetizer and tacos. The quac was pretty bad, tasted like the store bought in the tub which I can't stand. It doesn't taste homemade to me. The tacos were pretty good, but I think slightly overpriced. Our waitress kept telling us how big they were and how much food it would be. My dad ordered 6 and I got 3, we each could've eaten more no problem. We both thought her opinion was way off. We tried green chili pork, chicken, fish, and chorizo. All pretty decent , nothing special though- I wouldve liked a special sauce or different topping options. ...but overall good flavor. However, I wouldn't recommend the chorizo- made my stomach uneasy the rest of the evening and I eat it often. I liked it, it worth a try for something different! But nothing great either. I will definitely go back to try other options and hopefully update/upgrade my review . read more

Went in last Friday around 7pm. It was very busy but we were seated with in a few minutes. We had eaten at Limon prior to the remodel and thought it was alright, good for the money, so we were excited to experience the improvements. Unfortunately we were sorely disappointed. After being seated, no one spoke to us for at least 20 minutes. The first person to come over may have been a manager, not sure, and she asked if we'd like water and then dashed off. The hostess came by a couple mins later and asked if we'd been helped and we said no, so she ran off to find someone. The waitress came just as we were about to leave (no comment or acknowledgement regarding the wait) so we figured we'd wait it out - maybe the food would be worth it. No cigar. The food was pretty sub-par. The flavor was lacking, especially compared to the pre-remodel. Given the mediocre food and poor service, we likely won't be back (even with our other coupons). Plenty of other good food options in the area. read more

This place is my favorite place to go for a quick lunch. The staff is always very sweet. And the owner/ manager(?) is always there which makes me more confident this place is well staffed and supervised. One con is the plates here tend to be pretty greasy. Last time I went they did a better job at draining the meat. But my current visit, is the same greasiness. But once you get past that, the taste is unbeatable. I come here quite often and the quality is very consistent so you know what to expect each visit. Their chicken is a great addition to the tacos, burritos, and even the quesadilla! read more

Don't go for the fish fry. It's nasty. The outdoor space is always nice and drinks are tasty and affordable.

Love this place. A Mexican themed modern restaurant with very exciting breakfast and lunch offerings. I have been here several times for breakfast and for lunch. The menu is very diverse and creatively different. I love the breakfast sandwich with fresh ingredients including jalapenos. Also, huevos rancheros with a twist, great stuff. For lunch, I have had several different burgers, really great. A nice bar area, fully stocked. Many TV's for viewing your favorite game. Great outdoor seating with shade. The owners are usually on site and very interesting to talk with. Cant say enough good things about 5his hidden gem. read more

Disclaimer that my wife has celiacs and when this restaurant first opened they had many options. We went back the second time a few months later and they had changed their chip options along with many others. We went back a third time for tacos and they do not have any gluten free options. So glad they were up front about it. This was a go to spot but not anymore. Sorry that they decided not to include celiacs. Hope a new restaurant opens soon with allergies in mind. read more

Welcome to the neighborhood!!! The food here tastes very fresh and tastes great. I have eaten here about three times a month since they opened and really like this place. I just read they are going to transition to a sit down restaurant. I will not go back if that is the case. I like the assembly line so I can see what is offered and how it looks. Very disappointing to me. I had the nachos with carnitas and a bite (or two) of chicken burrito. The carnitas had good flavor and was very shredded. I liked that there were not big fatty clumps of pork. The queso was the star and they provided a generous portion of this white heaven. The bites of burrito I had were also good. Service was great. One star lost for guacamole up charge for nachos. For me guacamole is an"extra" on all entrees but nachos. Should be included with nacho read more

Awful food but great waitress. The beans were awful and the fajitas lacked the mean and vegetables were overcooked. The margaritas were really good but for the cost I would never go back. The waitress was great. read more

This place is awesome. Our server Lindsay was amazing and helped us with her recommendations. Staff was so friendly and owner even came to greet us. Food was so outstanding. I've had gone to Limon when it had its prior owners. Now the food and service is so much better. I will give it another star the next time I go in. But for now, I'm reserving my review. But I do love they have improved! read more

This place has a cool menu. But I was sadly disappointed when we got our food. My salad was mostly lettuce with a sprinkle of chicken and salsa. The lettuce pieces were cut up so big that you had to use a knife to cut them again. And the food was overly priced for what you get. The staff is friendly and the atmosphere is nice. But from not much food and the prices, I don't think we will be back. read more

I haven't been to Limon in over a year. I was disappointed as to the regulars at the bar. They were allowed to vape like it was no big deal and the staff and owner didn't pay any attention to it. They were loud and used much fowl language. It was difficult to enjoy with my kiddos and probably won't be back. Food was pretty good but definitely not for families! read more

I don't understand the bad reviews for Limon. Their food is very good. My husband and I usually share the fajitas (the fajita protein marinade tastes amazing) and still end up having left over protein. They have the best queso I've had in Phoenix. The only issue we have is every time we've order take out either the sour cream or ranch I ordered is not in the bag. That wouldn't be such a huge deal if we didn't pay extra for it. Overall my husband I love eating at Limon! read more

Wish I could provide two reviews, one 5 star for when they opened last year, and one 2 star for now. When they opened the food was amazing and quick. My go to was their Chicken Adobado bowl, so much better than Chipolte. I took company there several times in the first year and they all loved it, but something changed earlier this year. The moved the grilled veggies from one side of the serving line to another and now charge extra for them*, they also stopped using scooped sour cream in favor of a squirt bottle with thinned out sour cream with very little taste or texture. Finally, I always get their food to go as I'm only 3 minutes away and the last several times I brought it home I had to reheat it as it was very cold. Don't know why it changed, but I wish they'd go back to what they were doing. Have been driving by it and going elsewhere for supper. *Bowls used to be around $9, now they're closer to $11. read more

Absolutely amazing! For dinner I highly recommend their chips and queso along with their carne asada tacos! For breakfast you have to try their mimosa flights and churro pancakes. The staff is incredibly friendly and on top their job! Outdoor patio is pet friendly. read more

I've heard about all the changes after the remodel and have seen the uptick in positive comments. I gave Limon Urban Kitchen another shot. Seating area updated and they've moved way from counter preparation to order at your table which was a pleasant change. This is where we could focus on the service and food. The wife enjoyed the enchiladas in red sauce and I ordered the chorizo omelet. Both items came out in a timely fashion and at a warm temperature which we find important when eating Mexican food. I'm giving them a thumbs up on their changes and look forward to trying other options next time. Owner stopped by at least 3 times to take care of us and other tables while there. Way to turn the corner on what we now call a local option. read more

Horrible horrible, queso had 0 flavor and tasted old, chips tasted old and were crumbs, carne asada smelled like canned dog food, chicken tacos were just as bad..... couldn't even eat any of it.... BAD BAD BAD, I have never left a negative food review but felt this was necessary..... was not cheap either read more

They just remodeled after my last mediocre visit. Now it's all order off the menu. Decor is nice but I thought the prices were pretty high for Mexican food. I had the street tacos. Even though no one asked I told the waitress the pork was dry but the carne asada was good. I saw some other dishes come out of the kitchen that looked good but overall I'd say there other better choices for Mexican food. read more

I don't know why I keep trying to give this place a try. I think this was the 4th attempt. It is God awful! Every single time I have come here, the stuff has been sitting there and is bottom of the barrel. The food even crusts over because it's been sitting there. Staff is too lazy to restock the food... I don't get it. If you see more chicken is needed, restock... if there's no more cabbage, get your lazy butt to the kitchen and get some. It really is appalling. Where's the supervisor?? Is be one thing if this was an "off" day but for the 4th time and its the same thing?! No thank you. That being said, the food is disappointing which isn't surprising. No. I'll take my business to Cafe Rio. This wannabe Chipotle clearly doesn't care about food or service. Im done with this place. read more

Had big hope, shot down at first bite. Came here yesterday for breakfast at 10:45am. Ordered the carne asada burrito, side of sausage patty, green salsa and an ice tea, total with tip around $20. Ok very expense for breakfast and not food at all. Beat part was the ice tea and green salsa. The sausage was basically the same sausage as McDonalds and the burrito lacked flavor, it was totally bland. The eggs inside the burrito were scrabbles perfectly, no real sense of any luck in the burrito and the carne asada with lacking flavor. The steak did not even look like and flank steak and was missing a marinade. Maybe the margaritas are better. read more
