It had been awhile since we went back to Limon. We really like the changes they've made to the menu and the presentation of their food dishes. There seems to be more options for sharing such as the Brasa Platter (16 oz ribeye, half rotisserie chicken, crispy pork belly, ají panca cabernet demi-glace served with mushrooms & yuca fries) and the Fiesta Platter (Chicharrón de pollo, beef empanadas, plátano frito, & yuca fries). We want to return to order a platter so that my parents can try different items. We started the evening with El Diablito (Pisco Caravedo Quebranta, pomegranate juice, mint, angostura bitters, ginger syrup, lime juice) and Cadillac Margarita (Butterfly pea infused 100% blue agave tequila, Combier D' orange, Grand Marnier, & fresh citrus). Both were refreshing and not too sweet. For a starter, we shared the Trio Ganador con Mixto Mariscos which was three ceviches plus seafood (Pacific red snapper ceviche in our trio of leche de tigre: Ají amarillo, Rocoto, and Clásico) with a side of taro chips. All three had their own unique flavors and were delicious. They presented the trio in glass bowls over ice. The trio bowls used to be served on a simple white plate. The Conchitas (scallops) were yummy and also served over ice. The presentation of the two starters looked great. Then we had the Lomo Saltado and with Sweet Potato Fries, a side of Green Beans, and Arroz con Mariscos. All the seafood was fresh and the dishes tasted outstanding this evening. Came here based on a recommendation from a friend, and this place was delicious! Granted I was here for a quick lunch. We ordered the polli-papas, cheese empanadas, and pitcher of sangria to share. The polli-papas and the cheese empanadas also came with this yellow mustard-ish sauce and it was the perfect pairing for each dish. And the sangria... yum! I would've drank more if it wasn't a lunch with business partners lol. Will need to come back and try their entrees. Limon is one of my favorite at any location. Burlingame is better for lunch vibes in my opinion. Lomo Saltodo is my go-to in any Peruvian restaurant. Quality is on par with all other places. Flavor is less salty than other places, which is good depend on moods. Steak is always a pleasant bite! Service is always superb. Outside seatings may have uneven tables due to curb conditions. We made reservations and it seemed like it wasn't necessary, but it filled up quickly during dinner, so I would recommend reservations. Rainy day, no real plans and after a non planned visit around the area the next spontaneous thing to do was eat on downtown Burlingame. Limón was the first option while browsing restaurants and I suddenly craved Peruvian food. First time in this location and was surprised how full the place was at 3pm. Luckily we were able to get a table. Taking the order was very smooth but there was some sort of confusion to get the advertised freebie when you check with a Yelp (sangria!!!). The waiter thought it might be only for SF location and ther were 2-3 people involved until we got confirmation. As a sweet reminder, when offering something extra for the check-ins please instruct the people working there so it does not come as a surprise for them and as embarrassing situation for the customers showing the online freebie right there on the phone. Anecdotes apart, that sangria was amazing, really good (I am from Spain and I know what a good sangria is). We got a little tipsy, especially because I only drink in rare occasions nowadays. Well,for me being tipsy means laughing non stop and I tool a selfie to proof. Unfiltered selfies don't lie:) Food wise was excellent. We shared the octopus dish (the chumichurri or similar sauce was on point, perfect match to the well cooked potatoes. I would rather have had more octopus than potatoes and corn but it was awesome flavor and satisfying. The Fiesta platter was equally delicious. After that amount of sangria we needed more food to refuel. We got not overly sweet, just perfect desserts that I am not sure there were in the menu and whose names I don't remember. This place was great, one of my preferred Limon's in comparison to other locations. We had the arroz con mariscos and the quarter dark with yucca fries and chief vegetables. Also a must is the truffle Mac and cheese. For drinks all their drinks are great, they have good sangria, Pisco's and good mezcal drinks or non alcoholic as well. We're a party of eight and we're given a long table to accommodate all of us I had their Carretillero Travieso with a side of Taro chips. If you like ceviche, this item will make you salivate. It has crispy calamari with a seafood mixture of Pacific red snapper, calamari, shrimp, rocoto leche de Tiger canche choclo, and sweet potato with a side order of taro chips. The bowl is very rich in all these mixtures of seafood. I enjoyed this ceviche very much. We also had a couple of cocktails of Tropical Mojito and Michelada. I went here for a team dinner on Wednesday night and this place was PACKED. A reservation if you can get one is highly recommended. With that note if you want a quiet dinner this is probably not a good place. I was basically yelling at my coworkers that sat across the table from me. The menu is quite extensive but no pictures! I would recommend checking out the photos here or on Google maps if you're completely lost. I tried the short rib dish and I thought it was good. The huge chunk of meat was tender and I didn't need a knife to rip off pieces of meat. The mashed potato portion was very generous and went well with the brown sauce. I liked the carrots and peas but wished for more carrots since they were on on the smaller side. The ceviche was very tasty and acidic. I don't eat seafood since I have issues with texture a lot but the ceviche sauce was good. I dipped plantain chips in the sauces. I also tried the crispy cauliflower and liked it. The spicy Mayo was a nice touch. It's a good appetizer to share with everyone. I also tried the cheesy empanada and it was indeed quite cheesy. I liked it. I also tried the chocolate bandido dessert.
