I just got my first batch back and the verdict is in... they're fantastic! Two days ago, their van dropped by to pick my clothes up and 48 hours later my phone rang to let me know they were downstairs with the drop-off. Simple. Easy. And my arms don't hurt from dragging everything to the laundromat--brilliant! My clothes look great, smell clean, and are perfectly folded. I really, really want to love LWL. I've been using them on a regular basis for about 4 months now. They always pick up and drop off during my specified time frame (which is great), UNLESS they call me to say that they actually won't be able to bring my laundry that day at all (too many people didn't show up for work, car broke down, etc.). This is a MAJOR inconvenience for me, especially when this is a service that I give a large amount of money to because it is supposed to be *convenient*. This leaves me without laundry when I need it, and I also need to find another time during which I have two hours free to wait for them. I specifically schedule these appointments around my very, very busy schedule - and isn't that the point of paying a premium to use this service? Another reviewer wrote that their clothes come back organized - mine definitely do not! I would love to have all of my shirts in one group, my towels in another, etc. I can't tell you how many times I've taken T-shirts out of the drawer only to find socks or underwear in-between the shirts or even folded into shirts! I wouldn't take off any stars for this alone, but it would be nice to see some sort of organization. I'd say that about 70% of the time I get some socks or other articles of clothing that aren't mine. This makes me concerned for a couple of reasons - 1) How is everything getting mixed up? and 2) Am I missing some of my own stuff? I've thought about taking inventory before they pick my laundry up just to make sure, but again, that takes away from the convenience factor. On the positive side, I like that I can choose my pick up/drop off times online, and the delivery guys are always extremely friendly! read more

Ive used these guys three weeks running. As a graduate student who also works their service and price fits my life perfectly. I tried using Garment Valet and my clothes came back wrinkled...Not these guys. You give them your laundry at 10PM and get it back by noon the next day. Not even the place down the street from me can do that. Everything is folded, organized, and as wrinkly free as you can expect short of dry cleaning. This company saved me. I got so behind on my laundry from Covid & everything that I was completely overwhelmed. If never used a laundry service like this before. I scheduled a pick-up, which was super quick & easy, they came the next day (wearing a mask) & came back 24 hours later with my *60lbs* of laundry all washed, folded & sorted. They even paired the socks & I'm pretty sure there were almost 200 pairs in that load. Everyone is friendly, the owner is very responsive & answered all of my questions, no problem. I actually LIKE to do laundry, but when I realized I was down to my emergency pairs of socks & underwear (we all have them), I knew I needed help. Working a full time job and having two part-time jobs, during a busy spell, meant I had no time to get to the laundry mat. After reading the reviews I decided to give Life Without Laundry a try! I was really happy with the results. I had two large bags picked on a Friday evening, and returned to me on the following Saturday afternoon, before I went to work. Everything was nice, clean, and folded great. My order didn't have any special instructions, so I can't comment on that. Okay, this is my first time using this service and I was really excited but now I'm incredibly displeased. The good: They were on time and everything looks good, they were polite and easy. The bad: Almost all of my socks were inside out so I needed to go through and turn them all back, and if I'm paying for a service then I'm not excited about that. Edit: I had a billing issue and initially had a different review up but the owner called me and fixed everything to my satisfaction. Cheap per pound wash'n'fold. I've tried them once so far, and everything went smoothly. Well worth the money, which at least for me was effectively zero (the same price as the coin operated apartment machines I usually use). SO much easier than doing laundry yourself. Edit: Changed my review to 3 stars because they upped the prices from ~55c per pound to $1.07. There's now far less reason to choose LWL over local places. read more

I've used the wash/dry/fold service quite a few times now, and while there have been some bumps in the road (my first order delivery was delayed, and then with another order they lost the key to my building), their customer service has made up for it. Nothing can top the fact that my laundry always comes back absolutely perfect--never wrinkled and super clean--so I will continue to be a customer! read more

I have been using Life Without Laundry for at least 2 years now. I have a monthly plan and have never been disappointed with either the wash dry & fold or the dry cleaning service. Even when a pen was accidentally washed in a jeans pocket, I was notified right away by Alex. Rather than let me deal with it (it was my pen after all), he let me know they'd just be a little late delivering so they could try to remove the stains. The prices are higher than doing laundry at our local laundromat, but due to my schedule constraints and long work hours this service is well worth it (and no waiting for an open washer). Wrinkled wet laundry...not what I wanted to come home to after a long day at work. My order was simply, please put bag 1 in the dryer and air dry bag 2. The staff left the clothes that were to be air dried in the lingerie bags which they were washed in (all delicate items) and returned them to me balled up and wet. I am thankful for the 24 hr turn around time so that my wet clothes did not start to get moldy. I had to hang my clothes to dry tonight and will need to iron later. I did not pay $40 for this inconvenience and frustration! I will do my own laundry or find a service who can follow a customer's simple request. read more

Found this service through my boyfriend after Husky Express was literally bleeding me dry. Not having laundry in your apartment building is stressful and it is expensive and time consuming to do it yourself so I gave it a try. The price is amazing, and even with the cheap silver package my clothes are washed and folded properly, no shrinking, and I was extremely happy with the pickup and delivery service. Best of the best! Life Without Laundry is fast, reliable, and friendly. I used their services during a this-is-taking-impossibly-long repair of my in-unit washer/dryer. LWL was undaunted by my pick up request in the middle of Back Bay on a Saturday, and in the blink of an eye by Monday night, I had my mountain of dirty laundry back in clean neat piles. Included in my order were 3 sopping wet towels (see above washer/dryer struggle) which resulted in an overage charge for the extra weight. I emailed the company to explain and Alex swiftly responded and remedied the overage charge without any unnecessary back and forth. I rely on a laundromat, and I don't have a car, and I live about 1/2 mile walk from the nearest laundromat. We'd been getting by until the beginning of this year, when both work and personal life went off-the-rails demanding. So anyway - I am embarrassed to have used pick up drop off laundry... seems like the strangest of luxuries. That said - I've used two different services in the last 10 weeks - each of them once... not expecting much either time. Very impressed with Life Without Laundry for 3 reasons. 1) All laundry done better than I do it myself - nothing shrunk, torn, battered. Folded remarkably nicely, socks all matched and rolled together (of which I sent some phenomenal number of pairs, quite a bit of work, I'm sure). Sent in bedding and that came out very nicely. Made me wondered if there was a machine for folding sheets. I struggle with sheet folding, personally. 2) Website did not work perfectly for me, but someone answered the phone each time I called - super helpful, no time waiting on hold. 3) I missed the phone call for first attempt at delivery. I asked that the person ring by doorbell second time, he did... I appreciate the effort... $1.77 a pound for the laundry. Sure, that's expensive compared to doing your own laundry at a laundromat - but it's absurd to compare the two. This price does not seem the least bit expensive to have someone else come pick up your laundry during some 2 hour window, do it well, fold everything neatly - and then deliver it to you during another two hour window. Consider the plumbers, cable company, electricians... invariably require that you allow a 4 hour window... read more

The price was really good, and the flexibility in the pickup/drop-off schedule was awesome, but I wasn't too impressed with how they actually did my laundry. I got my laundry back this evening, and all my clothes were folded but very wrinkly. I just gave them mostly jeans, underwear, and tee shirts this time so that I could asses how well they do with standard laundry, and they looked the way things look when you fold them sloppily while they're still damp. Also, the bras that were in this load were unhooked, which does not bode well for how careful they are with them. This is quite disappointing because one of my primary reasons for using a laundry service was so my clothes would be clean *and* ready to wear. I was expecting a fluffy, neat load... ironing and folding were the things I wanted to avoid. Alas, the shirts I got back are all in dire need of an iron, and a jersey knife pleated skirt was folded so poorly there were creases across the pleats and the elastic in the waist was crimped too... I might have to re-wash it and hang it up to get it straight. Also all my jeans seemed somewhat faded as though they had been washed in very hot water. I had high hopes for this, but I don't think that I'll use this service again. read more

My first experience was with a coupon deal and it didn't disappoint. I ended up buying a deal for dry cleaning services as I had a cashmere sweater that had been sitting waiting for me to take it to get cleaned for months. Upon perusing my closet, I realized I needed a down comforter laundered too. After a little confusion on how to apply the credit from the coupon I got it squared away with Alex as soon as I emailed him. Scheduling and the website interface was really easy. I scheduled the pick up, and the deliver for a few days later. The delivery ended up getting postponed due to my sweater not being done by a few days, and it really wasn't too big of a deal. If it had been wash and fold laundry it would have been more of an issue. All in all, it is a really solid service. I'm sure as we're trying to organize moving, we'll probably give the regular laundry service a shot. read more

These guys are amazing, I was staying in Boston and needed laundry done. Didnt have allot of options so I called them and they hooked me up with a special pickup and delivery. I really wanted to be able to give a great review, but there are many kinks in this system. I've used Life Without Laundry several times, so I've given them several tries.. The last time I used them I opted for unattended pick up. I got three calls during the day while at work asking if I wanted them to pick up all four bags I left on the porch (I'm not in a position to use my cell at work). Um, why else would I put bags of dirty laundry on the porch? I called back when I could. They had to go back and pick up the fourth bag. I know this is odd, but I safety pin my socks to their mates. I've done this several times with LWL. All of my socks came back unpinned and several were mismatched. Where are my safety pins? Why did they unpin them? The time before I got a call after my laundry was picked up saying "several people didn't show up for work" so my laundry wouldn't be done the next day. I was going out of town, so this was a huge pain. I had to change my plans to be there to take in the laundry. That time they also didn't pick up all four bags, they left one. I had to call and ask them to come back for the last one. They've also not returned all my bags. I've had to call and ask for them.. Oh well, I guess I'll just start doing my own laundry. As many other people have said, I wanted to love this small, local business. I will start by saying their customer service is unparalleled. They are so attentive to customer needs, and go out of their way to make better any problems. The owner will personally call to sort out issues. But, there are too many issues for me to continue using this service. I appreciate how wonderful the customer service is, but the fact that I had to deal with the resolution of so many problems was itself the problem for me. I used this service four times, and 2 of the 4 times there was a major issue with my order. One time my clothes were delivered to the back porch of a stranger -- the house next door. I only happened to see them when walking to work the next day. Imagine my surprise. Another time, my hang dry items were returned to another customer. I did get them back, but it took several days, and seems like a mistake an established laundry service shouldn't be making. I cannot justify the expense of this service. It's a splurge, and with it being so unreliable, I won't be using it again. The laundry service is supposed to save time, not require time in dealing with frequent mishaps. read more

The customer service I received has been great! The delivery guy pick up my clothes (within the 2 hours time slot), and I asked for it to be dropped off the next day closer to 10 then 12, it came at 10:20, 12 hours after they picked it up! WOW clothes came back, clean, folded and smelling nice (my socks were even paired). $11 or $13 for all my time saved, the cost of regular laundry, and never buying detergent again...I'll take it (and highly recommend it)! read more

I have used LWL a few times. But, after what I witnessed today, I will never use them again. I went to the laundromat in Stoughton this morning and there wasn't a machine to be had. Why? Because the LWL staff was there with a u-haul full of laundry. How inconsiderate to take over an entire laundromat on a Sunday. I watched them stuff clothes into washing machines without even separating white and colors, crudely fold damp clothes, and stuff them into bags. Which would explain why my clothes came back with wrinkles that couldn't even be ironed out. At one point, they all got in their cars and trucks and left. Leaving dozens of bags of customer clothing unattended. Each time I used them I questioned the weight I was being charged for, and now I know why. They had a ratty old portable scale and lap top set up on the uneven tile floor. Totally unprofessional operation, and way over priced for the service given. Very disappointed. read more

I read a lot of really good reviews for LwL so I thought I'd give it a try once I broke my foot and couldn't carry my laundry up and down from the basement. Yikes. Not impressed at all. I guess I can only complain so much when someone else is doing my laundry for me, and it's great that they give you the text heads up with an ETA (although pretty inaccurate). But for $30+ I would expect them to at least match up my socks. All my collared shirts (polos, hawaiians, SSBD's) were real wrinkled and every collar was uneven and messed up. Was hoping to use this service for the duration of my broken foot recovery, but will likely explore other options because I ended up having to iron out all my work shirts & collars and spent 15 minutes matching up all my socks. Not quite "life without laundry" if you have to do a bunch of work after. It's too bad, because it's a great business model and you get a text from the owner of the company which means they care a lot about their customers.
