My first time using their service, they let me know that apparently my wallet was bundled up in my comforter that I was getting washed, and they immediately let me know and carefully placed it to the side before taking care of my items. They didn't just throw the comforter in, they took the time to really clean and examine the item, and when they did they found my wallet in there!! Oh and also great prices. Started using this laundry service a few months ago and it has been WONDERFUL. Ample pickup and delivery time options means I can get my family's laundry done quickly and on my schedule. Imagine the joy of returning from vacation with bags of freshly laundered clothes waiting at home! I find the price reasonable for the convenience. They also offer dry cleaning and tailoring. After posting my review Alex contacted me offering to refund me whatever made me feel comfortable in exchange for removing the review as he did not want me to hurt his business. I pointed out that internet archives can not be expunged and so I did not see the need to remove my review. I offered to post that we settled the matter in a mutually agreed upon way should I receive further refunding. Alex declined my offer and closed the matter. It only takes one bad experience to have a customer share the experience and not want to do further business. Damage to his business is not my responsibility and was done by providing a poor experience with my one and only experience. Strike 1: ask for free & clear and get April fresh (my husband is a delicate flower with very sensitive skin). Strike 2: delivered four bags of my laundry to the wrong address two towns away in Boston - across from a vacant lot and a 'community of unhoused persons.' Strike 3: when notified the next morning, waited to send a driver to look for said laundry until the very end of the day. Of course it was gone. Strike 4/5/6: haven't apologized, are now only responding to my husband, and have been lowballing me on replacement $$$. Alex, please respond to my husband with your final offer. LWL is amazing!!! Our basement flooded & a lot of our stuff was damaged. The things we could salvage & our day-to-day clothes had to be cleaned ASAP. Update.. Alex (the owner) called me back within an hour of my first call and assured me he would make it right. He walked me through their process from beginning to end. They have cameras that monitor all cleaning operations so it was easy for him to determine whose clothes I had and that no one else had received any of my items. I reweighed my items minus the ones that weren't mine and was within the range of what i sent. Alex waived my laundry service charge for the order for all my hassle/inconvenience ($60+) and sending a delivery guy to pick up the items that aren't mine. Based on Alex's response, I don't think this is a common occurrence and on the rare occasion it does happen it sounds like they have systems in place to resolve effectively. It's unfortunate that it was the first and only impression I have of the company. If this wasn't my first time using their service and I already had good experiences with them previously, I probably wouldn't have panicked or been as upset as I was. Alex seems like he takes pride in his business and reputation, and definitely wanted to make it right. Hence why I went from 1 to 4 stars. The 4 stars is for the owners responsive and helpful attitude, and they did do a good job cleaning and folding my clothes (the other guys too actually, lol) read more

I googled laundry service to replace an old jacket's zipper and by chance I came across "Life without laundry". I spoke to Alex and he answered my phone many times right away and arranged time for pick up and delivery. Last week a nice woman came to pick up the jacket and this week Frank, the manager came to deliver the jacket with the new zipper and a new laundry bag for future use. I don't usually write reviews but LWL deserves a good one. I don't use them often but a few times a year I'm willing to splurge or if I've fallen way behind on laundry because life/stress/depression gets in the way. One time that stands out in particular is I sent laundry out two days before a flight in need of it the next day but there was a mishap with my phone number. I reached out when I didn't hear (it was a 7-10pm delivery) and he had someone come back to the store and bring it out to me after midnight. I also once was able to text him in the morning for a same day pickup and he's always been responsive to feedback. I'm willing to pay the slight surcharge (it can be about 50c more per lb than other competitors in the area) for the level of service. Just sent out another load of wash today. I've been using LWL for the past 6-7 months, and I'm very happy with the service. The laundry is always well folded, they seem to follow the instructions I leave (none of my clothes shrunk ), and the service is often bookable for the next day already. They're extremely responsive and consistently ask for feedback. Only once was my clothing returned damp and they refunded the whole order! Prices are reasonable and the drivers typically arrive in the promised timeframe, only a few times were they slightly late. My living situation changed so I won't need regular laundry service anymore but I'll definitely stick with them for dry cleaning! read more

I usually don't send out my laundry but it's been a hectic week and I just haven't had the time or motivation to really set aside and do it myself. For $40 I wasn't sure that it would be worth it, BUT I will say now it was entirely worth it all. Pick-up was smooth and easy, I was given a window of time and driver was there. Didn't have to think about my laundry again until the next day for drop-off and it was just as easy. All of my clothes look and smell fantastic, the self-service process online was not hard to navigate and most importantly it saved me the added time I didn't really have. After moving away from the LWL territory some time ago, I still remember the days when an army of wizards would wash my unmentionables for me and return the folded laundered goods in a bright teal laundry bag. Ten years later and that bag finally split at the seam, after holding hundreds of pounds of laundry, getting tossed down the stairs often and always stuffed to capacity, once getting tossed off a third floor balcony, again way too full. They were grear when my wife started using them about 3-4 years ago but quality assurance has really decreased in the last year. We constantly get random items from other people's laundry mixed in with our clean laundry when it's returned, they lost or threw away my own personal laundry bag I paid for when I sent dirty laundry out and never reimbursed me for it, clothes don't smells clean when they come back, and they also never returned an item they broke the zipper on that I paid them to replace. My wife and I have contacted them about these issues by phone and by sending written notes in outgoing laundry but no one ever apologizes or remedies the situations. Terrible customer service. We were without a washer and dryer during our basement renovation and chose this company based on the reviews. It was a terrible experience. The pickup was convenient but that's it. Cost was high. We would regularly get other people's clothes back in our order - sweatshirts, ratty underwear etc. I lost at least one irreplaceable article of clothing which I reported and was never found. Clothes we asked to have line dried were still put in their commercial dryers and damaged, torn, and singed. My husband had to replace 6+ pairs of designer jeans because of this. I had several articles of clothing damaged - missing zippers, completely singed cloth. Example pic attached. As a result I had to replace hundreds of dollars worth of clothing. After a few incidents we went to a local laundry service which was half the price and much kinder to our clothes. Steer clear. read more

Update: After writing my initial negative yelp review, I ended up contacting the company again because I believe they lost an article of my clothing. I pursued this initially because I had seen an item looking just like it in the package of clothes I initially erroneously received, so I thought maybe I'd just get it back. Failing that, I wanted to be reimbursed. The article of clothing was ~$30, and the terms and conditions say reimbursements are limited to $20 per item, but I figured $20 was better than nothing. How naive I was to assume I would be treated with respect. The owner tried to bribe me into removing my warning about him from this site. An excerpt: "We are a small business. You had a bad experience. I did my best to help. The issue was fixed within 24 hours, you were fully refunded, and the matter was closed. You totally understandably were upset by the issue and wrote the review online there. These are very hurtful to small businesses. ... I would be more than happy to forgo the usual policy that would prevent me from refunding you an additional $40 ... to purchase a new bralette if you would pls remove the review." No, the matter wasn't fixed at all. This just reinforces my initial complaint about him -- he doesn't care about solving your problem. His idea of customer service is to try to gaslight you into thinking there isn't a problem and then to bully you into shutting up about it. I told him I wanted no money from him and for him to never contact me again. Dire, dire warning. Do not interact with this man in any context, much less trust him with your clothes. read more

The people I interacted with were super polite and had everything washed and delivered super early! It's definitely pricey but after my laundromat had a covid case I needed to try something else. They washed all of my stuff! But I think they washed some of my clothes with my fur rug - a lot of my clothes are covered in pink fuzz now. In hindsight I should've specified to wash them separately, but it's inconvenient to have to go to the laundromat and rewash of my clothes. I would still recommend them to anyone who can't go a laundromat and can afford it! read more
