Li and Tony -- are wonderful people. Met them around 2016 through 2018. They work super hard. Made it through the pandemic. Were always communicative. Delivered tailored and cleaned items on time, at high quality, and with no additives -- clothes never had streaks or after burn. Never overcharged maintaining competitive pricing. I love that they are a married couple, with a beautiful family, that has endured their hardships together. They deserve all the clients they can get. I pray they continue to survive and thrive. Husband and wife team here doing excellent dry cleaning without chemicals. Been coming here for years for cleaning but recently needed alterations with pants since that waistline ain't getting any smaller! There was one pair of pants that didn't have any material in the rear waist for alterations but Lee, expertly, took what material available in the leg hem -- allowing me more wearable life on this suit. So whether it's simple alterations on the length of pants (there's a small fitting area to try things on) or more complicated things Harvard Cleaners is the place to take it. I recently dropped off a brand new blazer, still in its original packaging, for tailoring. However, when I picked it up, I noticed stains on the sleeves and the jacket. I inquired about how this could have occurred, and the woman suggested that perhaps I had tried it on and stained it. I found it hard to believe that there were that many stains on a blazer that I entrusted to you. Would I really bring a stained jacket for alterations? She offered to have it dry-cleaned but failed to acknowledge the possibility that her team might have caused the damage, nor did she offer any compensation. I certainly did not bring in a blazer worth over $300 to receive it back in such a dirty and stained condition! It's essential to handle customers' belongings with care. I pride myself on being a loyal customer--friendly, polite, and supportive. I thank God for poise, manners, and compassion. I am not happy this happened to me. read more

The lapel crease on my navy suit jacket is messed up afterwards dry cleaning here; it looks like they turned the lapel at the wrong spot because now the crease is showing on the front of the jack and the two sides don't match. I'll take it to another place to get this fixed, I guess. read more

SCAM SCAM SCAM These people are liars!! I dropped stuff off and looked at the price shortly after leaving and quickly called to tell them not to clean my items. Somehow they claimed they already cleaned one of my dresses which already seemed fishy. I sent my daughter in to grab the items, but leave the "cleaned" dress there since she didn't have money on her at the time. Due to my busy schedule I was only able to go in a week later, and when I went in they claimed they already gave my daughter the dress which was a lie! My meter had already run out at this point and the lady advised me to put money in the meter as they continue to search for my missing dress. They were just trying to buy themselves time get it hung up and make it look like they cleaned it. When I got home I took it out of the plastic to find the dress completely wrinkled and still smelling like the box it sat in for a couple years in storage. I love this family owned & operated dry cleaning business! Ever since I received a white winter jacket as a gift, and inevitably needed to find a place to get it dry cleaned this past winter, I started becoming a regular customer at Harvard Cleaners. They do a great job cleaning my white, down winter jacket for a reasonable price-- and it comes back smelling amazing, for at least a few days after I pick it up I have also asked the wife who works here to do various alterations and she does a great job. I always tip her for the service. I also get my Ugg boots & Ugg slippers cleaned here. It takes two weeks for them to clean them (I guess they send them out), but again, the cleaning is immaculate & worth the price. I have also had blazers and dresses dry cleaned here. My clothes were returned to me very clean, smelling great and on time - every time. I've NEVER had an issue here. And I drop clothes off about once a week. I love that a family runs this business. This is the type of place where I walk in and the owners know me...where I've started showing them pictures of my nephew (he just turned 4 months and yes, he's adorable!). I have used Harvard Cleaners for over 4 years, and while I have had issues every once in awhile... a missing shirt, missing buttons etc... I overlooked it, because the couple that owns the shop were always very nice and knew me name. However today my experience was outrageous. I had purchased a new Italian suit, it is from a well know, respected design house, and I needed to have the sleeves shortnened and the pants hemmed and waist taken in. The alterations cost me about $75. I picked up the suit, and took it home. When I tried it on the pants were made to short, so I brought them back to have them adjusted. I wasnt in a great hurry and went back to pick them up a couple of weeks later when I picked up my next dry cleaning and laundry order. My pants were gone... I was told they must have been misplaced, but that the owner would check with his wife as maybe she put them somewhere else... so i came back about a week later with the jacket so they could now match the pants. I was cool about it at first, I figured they may have been misplaced etc. So I stopped in again and asked if they had located the pants... it was then that I was accussed of loosing the pants... and that too much time had passed... that it was not their responsibility... They did not offer to replace the new suit. They did not offer to make it up to me with some free service... nothing... I then asked that they do something... again I was trying to be gracious about it... it is when I was told it was not there fault and there was nothing they could do, that I began to get upset. After being a loyal customer for over 4 years, spending an average of $125 a month for laundry, alteration and dry cleaning services. They are not responsible for lost items. I was out a 1200 suit and 75 for alterations.... but worst of all I was made to feel taken advantage of... Never again... time to go to Christos! read more

There are some small businesses out there that just plain "get it". Harvard Cleaners is one of those. They offer all the standard services any other cleaner offers at competitive prices. But I am a fan of these guys because they understand customer service. The woman who owns the place was able to recognize me by name after only my second visit. And it's not even just in the store; I've run into her on several occasions around Coolidge Corner and she always greets me by first name. She also has a minimum charge for credit cards, but has implemented a credit system for people like me, who like to charge everything. So if I have a cleaning bill that's under the charge, I can charge the minimum, or any other amount I'd like, and have the remainder written on my receipt as a credit for my next load. Nice to see some old-school customer service still in action. read more

I found this place via Yelp as a closer one to my apartment ( 2-3 blocks). It's not a bad place at all, it's neat and clean and customer service is high too. I have been using it for 2-3 month, and I am not disappointed, but not much happy either. Downside is that the place is pretty pricey: $1.50 for 1 pound for wash & fold, dry cleaning (don't remember off my head) isn't cheap either. They do however do a great job with dry cleaning, and wash & fold is comparably better than the previou laundry service I used. So in short, if you live around Coolidge Corner and don't bother spending minimum of $20 on laundry/dry cleaning every week, this place is recommended. P.S They don't take Discover credit cards, so keep that in mind when you visit. read more

Harvard Cleaners is one of the highest rated cleaners in walking distance of my apartment and some of the cheapest wash and fold service in Brookline so needless to say I had high hopes. $55 later, I am incredibly disappointed. Missing clothes and none of the clothes look nor smell clean. I called to complain about our missing clothing and the man I spoke to just kept saying we keep all loads together. I said I would completely double check and after maybe 15 mins of searching ( we have a really tiny apartment) I tried calling again and despite all logic saying otherwise the man informed me he didn't have the missing clothes. It's one thing if the clothes go misplaced, they are only clothes they can be replaced, but they never even offered a solution. My girlfriend who was upset about a mark on her jeans that didn't come out used just soap and water and it came out almost instantly. Makes me think that they didn't even do anything. I started to look around and smell some of my clothes and nothing but a bunch of stains and not so fresh smelling laundry. So $55 later all I'm left with is a load of still dirty laundry and down a few articles of clothing. Is there something I'm missing? Why does this place have 4 stars? Our building is about to get laundry machines, so luckily I do not have to waste another penny at this place. read more

Normally I would give this establishment a 6 star rating. I've been going to them for 6 years. Nothing but excellent service, great pricing/rates, and so friendly! Built a loyal customer in me. I always get my dress shirts dry cleaned weekly. Once in awhile tailoring, pants, or suits. ...That is until I dropped off my weekly shirt load (x6 this time). I left them a shirt that retails for 130.00USD. I am approximately 6', 180 lbs... I wear a medium slim fit shirt typically... 40" chest, 33" waist. I love the fit of this expensive brand of shirt. Well... I got back 6 shirts. One wasn't mine. It was a nice shirt too, but different brand. I told them, they apologized. I returned the shirt, but the shirt they found/returned to me was NOT mine. Very similar in style/color... but was a much, much cheaper brand I had never heard of. Also, was a small slim fit. I have over 50 dress shirts. None of them are small slim fit. I told them this is not my shirt - they insisted it was, it even had my name on the tag (which they supposedly write on the tag) (which could've been written on at ANY time... ) They have denied losing my shirt, won't compensate me for the loss of an expensive brand shirt (of which I have 3... pricier than a ralph lauren shirt which I find very common in Brookline)... Needless to say, I'm not going back. One negative incident such as this trumps 6 years of quality service. I'm going with my company dry cleaner that picks up and delivers for us to our business's building. I'll pay the extra $0.75 per shirt for a nationwide retail dry cleaner. So long Harvard Cleaners. Next time, don't call a loyal customer a liar. I've been with you for 6 years and I have referred people to you when there are dozens of options in the Brookline/Boston area. Upping my star count. They called me right after I dropped a suit off to be pressed to let me know they were having trouble getting out some marks. Now that's customer service. These guys are solid. Also, I've started to take my basic tailoring here as well... $13 for a simple pants hemming done well, excellent. I picked this place based on Yelp reviews, and have not been disappointed. The family who owns it is wonderful--always very polite and speedy. They do a great job with my monthly drop-off of business dresses and coats. Their turn-around time is super-fast, even though I always say I don't need a rush job. The prices seem fine, and they haven't pressed any elements of any dresses in weird ways (a common issue with some dry cleaners). I haven't tried them for alterations yet, but the wife is always so friendly when she's at the sewing machine that I might get over my shyness and ask for her help. The parking situation in Brookline is always amusing. The town has changed back to single spot meters instead of those awkward machines that you had to hike to for a receipt & then hike back to your car to leave on your dashboard. Picking up and dropping off is much easier as a result of the new meters. read more

I have been going to Harvard cleaners for quite some time. The family is generally very friendly. I used to go to eagles cleaners but felt that Harvard cleaners was cheaper for my shirts so I started bringing them my business. I guess you truly get what you pay for. Although the family is nice they have zero emphasis on quality service. I have repetitively picked up shirts that have been wrinkled. I mentioned it to them today and all I received were excuses... 'I can't wrap your shirts individually' 'if you come earlier when your shirts are done they would be better' 'I can not do much about it'. However they have no problem complaining to you about not 'unbuttoning your shirts' because it inconveniences them. Last time I checked I was paying them to do dry cleaning for me and not the other way around. When I complained today they had no initiative to make things right. If you are like me and want quality service and don't want to pick up clothes that are wrinkled, still have to pay for it, along with hearing complaints about not unbuttoning your shirts I highly recommend staying away from this place. I dropped off 18 shirts and needed them to be cleaned and ironed and instead I left frustrated, unsatisfied and out $40 bucks. read more

I have been doing business at Harvard Cleaners for 25 years- since college and no longer live in Brookline. Even my mother-in-law comes up from the Cape for an alteration. I am tall and have bought many suits where I needed the sleeves taken down and the jacket brought in. Everything looks like a custom suit because the owner knows how to get you the best possible fit that is very falttering. I highly recommend this place for tailoring, hemming, any type of alteration. My mother-in-law attended a black tie event and wanted to know how I had such an amazing fitting gown; I explained what it looked like at the start and how a few alterations created an amazing dress- hence my mother-in-law coming up for key aletrations. I have gone other places without the same result- and this place is consistent- you will not be disappointed even if you need to make a trip to have things done. read more

After calling and driving around all morning, I arrived at Harvard Cleaners at 1pm on Saturday and they took my clothes (2 suits and a few shirts) and had them clean by 4pm, and with a smile on their face! I went here for the first time for alterations and was extremely pleased. I had a patterned ski jacket that needed to be taken in on a quick turnaround. The lady was meticulous in taking my measurements, looking at the design and composition of the jacket, and explaining to me what needed to be done. Do not trust this place. I sent two sweaters, a dress, and a scarf to get dry cleaned. One of my wool sweaters was obviously washed and dryer improperly. Also, the turn-around time is fast. This Dry Cleaning business is located 1 block from Coolidge Corner. Recently I had alterations done to my slacks, they charged $15.00 (From calling various places, this seems like 1/2 the price of other establishments). One negative is the absolute lack of parking in the area. I usually walk here. If you live in the area, you can't go wrong with Harvard Cleaners. read more
