I have used their dry cleaning service numerous times in the last 12 months. No problems whatsoever. The turnaround on a Saturday drop off may be Tuesday or Weds. If that's not fast enough for you, find another dry cleaner. Yes, their service is performed off site at another location, hence the delay in returning your items. One thing I like very much is they are open on Saturday until 7 pm and all day Sunday (because they also offer washer/dryer for do-it-yourself or laundry service). It's incredibly convenient to be able to drop off or pick up laundry or/and dry cleaning on both weekends days. And until 7 pm!! If your clothes have been there a while, they actually call or text you to remind you to come pick your clothes up. They prefer payment at drop off, which I prefer, so you can pick up quite easily, no waiting for other customers, etc. The workers are very polite and helpful. read more

I brought a green dress to make it longer. She charged me in advance $25. I picked the dress up and the threat was brown. I've asked her why it is not green like the dress and she answered that she did not have that color threat......I asked my money back as it looks really unprofessional and also that no one told me that she did not have green thread......she gave me $12.50 back. I will not be able to ever wear the new JCrew dress again. Do not alter anything there, very crapy job. Under your own risk! Now I understand why they charge in advance.......when a polite consumer is forced to overpay for a bad service and is forced to overpay to get his own item back. read more

I'm new to the whole laundromat scene - I just moved to a "city" and to an apartment without a washer and dryer hookup. So needless to say, I was in panic mode when I had to figure out a decent place to do my laundry. Luckily, Sunshine Cleaners is literally across the street from my new place. Now, this review can only speak to the laundromat itself. I've never had the ladies at Sunshine Cleaners wash, dry, and fold my clothes for me. I just go in and do my laundry myself. But they'll do it for you: $1.25/pound to wash, dry, and fold. But if you want to do it yourself, the biggest washing machines cost $5 to wash. All of the dryers are 25¢ for six minutes of dry time. They have smaller washing machines; they cost $2.50 to wash. I opt for the bigger machines and just wait a little longer between loads to utilize that size of washing machine. The laundromat is clean and the locals are friendly. So if you're looking for a new place to get your suds on, come to Sunshine Cleaners. read more

If you are too busy (ok, lets call a spade, a spade and say lazy), this is the place to go. I drop my laundry off here (see I can admit my laziness too!) and have it back the next morning. The prices are reasonable, $1.00 per lb., and the clothes always come back in perfect condition. If you are tempted to do your own laundry, here this: It costs $2.75 per wash and 25 cents per 6 min. of drying time. read more

I do NOT recommend this place for dry cleaning. Out of a load of 8-10 items, they stained 2 dresses, 3 silk shirts, and lost the belt of a skirt. The woman working that evening was unhelpful and unapologetic. After refusing to give me a refund, they sent the items back for a redo, which fixed 2 of the items and further stained the rest. Again, I was refused a refund and assured that they would ask the outsourced dry cleaners to do a better job - which they did, luckily. I will say that they did a good job altering a dress for me, and the woman who works there weekday mornings has been extremely helpful and courteous. Still, I suggest picking another one of the many dry cleaners around. read more

Correction to Sarah K... The laundromat may be great, especially for students in the area, but as a drycleaner, this place is awful. Twice I've had my drycleaning refused (literally). It's difficult for me, on a Saturday morning, to believe that one suit and 2 shirts have an earliest pick-up date of Wednesday morning, especially when the answer to my asking how long drycleaning typically takes was "1-2 days." The work ethic at this place is just unacceptable and they will be receiving no more of my business. read more

OK customer service, prompt and efficient. Felt a little like what I think a Dry Cleaner in Germany would feel like. The old style rack was funny as the attendant tried to find my vests. They seems to have done a capable job and they were ready on time, although I don't get why a vest costs the same as a jacket since it has no sleeves read more

My apartment complex has coin-op machines, but since the machines are older than I am, I decided to hunt out a local laundromat/cleaner nearby. This one is 2 blocks down the road, and through wind, snow, sleet, and hail I loaded my clothes into a rucksack, trudged on over, and washed my clothes there every other week for the past 8 months. The washers, for the most part, all look pretty new, and they have singles, doubles, triples, and I think one quad washer. The lady behind the desk always has a big smile and a hello, which made my day, since I was usually the one running in at 8:55 pm on days when last wash was at 9pm. Hours were great, they are usually open till 10 pm, but one or two days they close a little earlier (8 or 9? think it's fridays). 4 stars because the dryers are somewhat older than the washers, and there's almost always at least one out of order. They also just downsized their space, and condensed into about half the space, which gets tricky while maneuvering around other customers. I've never had to wait for a machine, though, which is a huge plus in my book. Never personally brought something to be cleaned, but every time I went to do laundry, no matter what day of the week or time of day, there was always a steady stream of people (who seemed happy) picking up and dropping off clothes/blankets/etc to be cleaned and/or altered. I even overheard someone dropping off a pair of shoes that needed a heel fixed. read more

This laundromat is fantastic. I used to live around the corner so I was here around twice a month for 3 years. Plenty of washers and dryers (although sometimes a few are out of order). Regular top-load washers are $2/wash, but I guess for the area that's an OK price. Fair prices on dry cleaning, and I've used them once to hem a pair of pants. Drop-off service is VERY popular (right near BC so a lot of kids drop off their stuff) so sometimes you can't get a same-day turnaround. They were very thorough with the drop-off service though, asking me if I wanted fragrance-free detergent (YES!!) and do I want fabric softener or dryer sheets (fragrance-free sheets please!) so I was very impressed, since other laundromats I have used since did not give me any choices. Also, the woman who owns the Sunshine Center is really great. If you have anything that you're not sure how to go about washing (or you don't trust what the label says), just ask her and she'll help you. While there's not a ton of room to sit and read while your laundry is mid-cycle, you can just pop nextdoor to Eagle's, Pino's, Presto, or The Wrap (I will not call it Boloco!) to grab dinner while you wait. While many of the customers change frequently because of the student population, there are customers who have been coming here for years and years. A few of the MBTA employees come in and chat with the owner as well. Seems like a great neighborhood place to me. read more

This was my first time using sunshine cleaners and it will certainly be my last. I had the same problem as some of the other commentors - when i went to pick up my dress, the woman told me it had to be recleaned because there were "stains" on it (there were no stains on it). But heres the kicker - whoever washed it safety pinned my dress to a paper hanger through the front of my dress. There are now two noticeable holes through the front of my $300 dress! In short, dont waste your time or money, they will ruin your clothes!! read more

I went here after I stained a very expensive silk dress. I spilled mussels and seafood broth all over it. I tried to get the stains off myself and just made them even bigger. Three days later my dress looks the same as I did when I bought it in the store! I was shocked after how terrible it looked when I brought it in. Despite the small, dingy and dated appearanc of this cleaners/laundromat this is the place to go! You can trust them with fine garmets and get the results you want. read more

0/10 do not recommend Sunshine Cleaners for dry cleaning. They've not only ruined our brand new sofa cover, but have refused to refund it, and proceeded to call us liars and scream at us over the phone. Took a brand new Ikea sofa cover here last week because my dad accidentally spilled some coffee on the edge. We got it back with a melted hole in the middle. We asked them for a refund, brought the receipt of the cover, which we had purchased just two days before having to take it there, and were directed to a different number to deal with. This person, called Frank, with American Cleaners (at 6179246491) proceeded to LIE and YELL at us over the phone, screaming that there had been holes in the cover already (yeah, holes in the 2 day new Ikea sofa cover). He then actually screamed that he couldn't talk to us because we were the liars and actually hung up the phone. Eek! Methinks not does not even cover the disgust I have with this establishment. Seriously, find somewhere else if you don't want you dry cleaning ruined or to be screamed at AND actually have your character insulted just for trying to discuss a refund. read more

I have lived in this neighborhood for 7 years, and have been using this cleaners since then. I think it underwent new management about 4 years ago. Since then, I have had two problems. The first, my blouse came back with a spot on it that looked like blood. I brought it back and was given a hard time, with the woman behind the counter making me feel like I was wrong to bring it back and that they did not leave blood on my blouse. But, the issue that I have been having over the last 2 weeks tops this. I dropped off several items, and when I went to pick them up, I was told that one of my pairs of pants were stained and that they had to have them sent back to be re-cleaned. They were brand new, Ann Taylor, winter white dress pants. There were certainly no stains on the pants when I brought them. I had only had the cleaned because they had fuzz from my sweater all over them. In retrospect I wish I'd used a lint roller. When I returned to get my pants, there was a large yellowish orange stain on one of the pant legs and the pants were no longer winter white but a dingy gray white. I told them woman behind the counter that my pants were ruined and that they were brand new. She told me there was nothing she could do about it and to come back when the owner was there. I was not able to go on the day she suggested, and she could not provide another time for me. So, tonight, I went back, hoping to speak with an owner, and with my boyfriend in tow. The woman told me straight to my face that she couldn't believe that the color had changed, and that she didn't remember what color they were when I brought them. I showed her the lining of the pants which resemble the original color of the pants, and are a very different color now. She says she can't tell the difference. We asked for our money back and for them to reimburse me for the pants, and she said that she couldn't do that, and that I would have to wait for the owner. She gave us a name of the owner, which now that we have looked up on the internet, is a bogus name. She also wouldn't tell us hers. My pants are being held hostage, and I am out $57.00. Luckily the pants were from the outlet, so they weren't $100+ dollar pants. Not happy at all. read more

most of the machines are broken and not fixed even after months of being broken. even the coin machine is regularly broken. the girl behind the counter is not friendly. they are definitely not cheap when it comes to making small seamstress repairs or dry cleaning, and the work is shoddy at best. overall, i do not recommend this place. there is another cleaners around the corner from cityside. check that one out instead. read more
