I had a horrible experience with this cleaners. A few Fridays ago I picked up two blazers that were dropped off the week before. When I went to grab the white one to wear to dinner the next evening, I noticed that it had yellow spots all over it (almost like it was aged). I stopped by the cleaners the following Monday morning with the hopes that they could fix the issue before an upcoming trip. Unfortunately, the woman at the front (who I've been dealing with for 10+ years with no issues) tried to completely gaslight me. When I showed her the stains she said they didn't clean the blazer and that they don't even work with that type of fabric. It was a Linen/Polyester/Rayon blend that they had no trouble accepting when I dropped it off. I looked at her incredulously. She behaved as though she had never seen the blazer before, despite literally handing it to me three days prior. She kept saying that they didn't clean it and tried to imply that I took it to another cleaners. I couldn't believe it. I told her they were the only cleaners I used and insisted that I did bring it there. I also asked her why she was lying. She just stared at me. I told her she lost a customer as I stormed out. Thanks to these Yelp reviews I was able to get my king size down comforter dry cleaned and get it back on the same day! It is a pricey comforter and I want to take good care of it, I looked at all the reviews in my area for a dry cleaner and the customer service aspect stuck out in the reviews -- so I went to Grace and am so glad I did. Forty bucks and cleaned in the same day. I took my comforter to another place last year and it cost 25 but took over a week. I would never go to that place again! I decided to try a new dry cleaner after a poor experience with another Medford dry cleaners where one of my nice shirts was ruined. The couple running the place seem really nice and friendly. My clothes are always ready when they tell me they will be. The quality of the cleaning is also great. I am the ultimate procrastinator and waited 3 days before a wedding to take my dress to the cleaners. I live in Melrose and walked past several dry cleaner/laundromat combos. I eagerly ran to the first site only to be told it would be ready 6 days from now since they outsource their dry cleaning. The second place was closed and the third place also outsourced. Screwed, I jumped on yelp and came across Grace Cleaners. I called and asked if they did next day service and they confirmed they did. I drove over and dropped off my two dresses. I was charged $26 for both pieces together. I found that price a bit steep (avg price is $7-10 bucks a dress), which is why im knockin a star, Regardless, my dress was ready by 3:30pm the next day and im a happy camper. The quality of their work is excellent but I am disillusioned at having to pay $11.00 to have a straight hem done on a pair of inexpensive slacks where the going rate is $7.00 to $8.00. We are now bringing slacks needing to be hemmed to a tailor across town and his rates are $8.00 a pair, a price much easier to swallow. read more

I was a long time customer of this dry cleaner until the day it all went wrong. I took my only winter coat in to have a button sewn on and a suit to have the only button I had left that matched sewn on. I went in to pick up my coat and discovered they sewed my pocket shut when they put on the button. They made a mistake but I gave them the benefit of the doubt; I called and explained I needed it fixed on the spot because I needed my coat for the weekend. I said I would come in on a friday and to tell me what time was best so I could accomodate their schedule. They said anytime, we will fix on the spot. I came in on friday to pick up my suit and get my coat fixed. They made me pay for the suit and coat prior to my receiving them. Then I was told they could not fix my coat on the spot, after they had promised when I called 2 days ahead of time. I left with drycleaning and money back for coat. I had to drive around to find someone to fix the coat. I found someone who did it on the spot for $2. Grace cleaners charged me $5 and messed it up. I got home and discovered another error; they never sewed the button on my suit and they never gave me the button back. I had to drive back to the drycleaner (3rd time this week) to ask for button back so I could take it somewhere else and I asked for my money back since they did not do the services they promised. They refused to give my button back even after I explained that it was particular to the suit and could not be fixed without the correct button. It took 10 minutes to get my money back and then they took my suits and refused to give them back. I told him I was going to call the police and they walked up to the open door and shut it trying to keep me inside. I managed to leave the store and had to call the police. The police responded and went in and got my suits but I was never able to recover the button they lost. I went to another drycleaning store recommended by the officer and found out I will have to replace all the buttons because they are impossible to match. I know this sounds crazy and believe me I could not believe it myself. I just wanted to let people know what kind of business this is and not to be fooled by their smiles and remembering your telephone number, because when something goes wrong, even when it is their fault, you will pay the price read more

After moving to the neighborhood semi-recently, I was excited to find a dry cleaner close by with good reviews. Just picked up my first dry cleaning load and am sorely disappointed. Almost everything was fine except one tie, which had translucent white spots all over it. After pointing the spot out the clerk offered to reclean it - great. She then gives it back telling me telling me it is actually color that came up when they tried to clean a spot - only there were no spots when I dropped it off. It was just a general cleaning. Next she tells me it's actually just the silk that looks that way. We went back and forth on this point before I finally decided to take the tie elsewhere. After getting to my car, I noticed more spots on the back in wavelike pattern, clearly the result of cleaning solution that didn't come off during the dry cleaning process. I take it back to the cleaners and she proceeds to argue with me that it's the fabric and that she doesn't know how else to explain it! Seriously - worst service ever. A note to the clerk - next time just say, "I'm sorry. I think that's just the fabric but I'm happy to have it cleaned one more time if you'd like." This incident alone will make this the first and only time I ever use their services! read more

We stumbled across Grace Cleaners by accident in 2003 after several attempts to find a good dry cleaner in Medford and Cambridge. Grace Cleaners was (and is) the best- even after we moved to Andover in 2004, we still bring our clothes down to Medford to Grace. We've inadvertently had t-shirts and sweatpants (once even a pair of pantyhose) get caught in our dry cleaning load--- everything came back clean, pressed and on a hanger. When my son "graduated" from kindergarten, they graciously offered to hem his dress pants as a graduation gift. They have opened early (and closed late) to accommodate us when we've missed catching them during regular business hours. We can't say enough about how much we love them- wonderful people, great customer service, and they consistently do great work- We highly recommend Grace. read more

HORRIBLE! Took a suit in for dry clenaing and they did a terrible job and charged a fortune. In addition they broke the zipper. When I brought it back to ask them to fix it, the woman behind the desk smiled stupidly and refused to take blame for breaking the zipper and would not fix it. I will NEVER go back there. Because of good reviews, I brought a few clothes there. One of the items, was a silk blueish top. When I picked it up and brought it home I noticed something really weird. There were two ivory colored lines on each side of the front shoulders. There was a dry cascade-like gritty feel to it. But when I tried to rub it away, I noticed it looked bleached and would not come off... well a little grit did, but not the stains underneath. I know it was not there when I brought it, nor did it have a note on it telling me that there was a stain, etc. First of all, nobody makes stains like this. When I called she was speaking loudly yet dismissive of my concern and told me to bring it in and hung up on me. Actually kinda funny so just laughed the wackiness off. When I brought it in, I was very nice and explained a little before she interrupted me and said in a condescending way, "Yea, this wasn't our fault, the stain was there when you brought it in." This woman looked right into my eyes and lied. It was creepy and scary cuz there was no empathy or soul to that nut job. I was silent and she walked away after giving me an eye roll. I grabbed my shirt and left. Granted it is just a shirt so I'm not going to lose sleep over it, but since I did paid close to $200 for it, and feel completely disrespected, this business doesn't deserve to be in business. I thought I'd finally found a dependable dry cleaners but I am disappointed to say I have not. I have found rips in three different articles of clothing, on three separate occasions, as well as a missing button or two upon getting my clothes home. In addition, I trusted them with a small repair of a loose stitch in a cotton dress I planned on wearing for my wedding rehearsal dinner. I dropped it off more than a week in advance and was told they would need to send it out. No problem, plenty of time. Upon going to pick up the dress the day before the rehearsal, I found the stitch had been messily done in-house, with a different color, thicker thread. It was basically unacceptable as I could have done a better job myself and I have no stitching skills to speak of. I was then told they could not appropriately fix it by the time of my dinner because it needed to be sent out. I pressed the issue that I was told it was being sent out over a week ago, but they were unapologetic.
