I took an area rug here and it cost $100, took three weeks, and the rug smells HORRIBLE. Terrible experience.

I wish I knew the lady's name who helps us each time but she is lovely -- so friendly and easy to work with. Thank you so much for helping us through all of these years and we will be back many times in the future too :)

I had to exchange my original dress for a larger size so the the woman at this establishment could take fabric out since she said she couldn't add any to the original size I got. Fast forward to the time of getting it tailored. I was charged $115, and the dress was still too big on me. I was in a time crunch and couldn't explore other options or dispute the lack of quality of work, but I spent way too much for a job not well done. She said she couldn't take out more fabric because of the style of dress, but when I went to the wedding (swimming in the dress, mind you) I ran into a seamstress that was invited who ended up pinning my dress in the back and saying how easy of a fix it would have been. On top of it all, tailored outfits can only be paid in cash. I live in Georgia and had to fly in for the wedding and pick up my dress, and honestly forgot about this policy, but it doesn't really make sense since there is a sign that clear says "major credit cards accepted". She kindly took my card, but I could tell it was an issue. I don't think I'll be back- I definitely paid a lot for for adjustments that weren't made and excuses for not doing the work.

He walked over the day before they were due to be ready, just to see if they were done early. He was met with "they'll be done when I said they'll be done." The next day when I went to pick up the clothes, the store was open, but there was no one at the counter. I rang the bell several times, called out, and a few other customers entered the store behind me. Finally, I walked to the back to see if someone was there (my thought being, what if someone is hurt?!) Finally a woman poked her head up and immediately yelled at me "for being in a private area." I'm not asking to be treated like a Queen. But basic decency is something I look for in a local business. With so many options in the Somerville area, we'll take our business somewhere else that treats us with a little respect and cordiality.

Their prices aren't the lowest around, but this is a great example that you get what you pay for; I've yet to have an issue with stains not coming out or clothes coming back from Clevergreen smelling of chemicals like you had them cleaned by a Halliburton fracking operation. The one time there was a mixup with my clothes (actually, I think it was the first time I brought anything to this cleaner...) they went the extra mile to make sure I got my clothes back as quickly as possible, apologized for the inconvenience, and took the charge off my bill. On the negative side, some of the comments I've read about the customer service from folks other than the owner (Fashad) aren't totally wrong. Sometimes when you walk in, there's no one at the counter and you have to wait for someone to come from the back of the shop...and that someone doesn't always seem too pleased. When I weigh the pros and the cons, I think the pros win here. I've had so many challenges dealing with other cleaners that I just don't get from these folks. Granted, they're not perfect, but I think they're sincere in wanting to do a good job and, yes, the screaming Liberal in me loves feeling like I'm doing something good by working with an environmentally friendly dry cleaner, so....maybe I'm a little biased....

Every time they both sigh heavily as if I'm asking them to do something that's not related to their job. Why have a business like this if you don't want the work and to get paid for it? I never complained about prices or anything, but they act like they have to go above and beyond every time and I'm inconveniencing them by being their customer. They also roll their eyes and complain if I try to confirm what they say or just confirm my question so there's no misunderstanding. I usually come here because of the proximity to my home, but I've had enough and I'm willing to go farther away and pay more for honestly better human interactions.

It takes about 4-5 days. I don't remember how much it costs to clean garments but it cost almost $30 to clean my comforter, about twice as much as I would like to pay. I have also had them alter some pants. They did a good job raising the hems. This service was more reasonably priced, just under $10. They have good hours and parking is not difficult. You can park on Boston Ave. or in the lot behind the cleaners. I wish the shop was cleaner and it smells like the chemicals they use to clean the clothes. English is not the first language of the owners. I have a hard time understanding them and worry that they won't understand my directions for alterations, although this has never been the case. P.S. Check out the cool mural painted on their wall on the Winthrop Street side. It was painted last August by local kids.
