Violette was one of the three seamstresses recommended by the shop and so I assumed it would be excellent service. This was the worst seamstress experience I have ever had. Do not take your wedding dress here!!!! Her craftsmanship is sloppy and she left jagged edges and unfinished seems all over my dress. I ended up having 6 fittings the last three were supposed to be the last one but she just didn't finish. She acts friendly and is pleasant to be around but she doesn't even remember you name or any details for that matter. Please take your dress anywhere but here.

Violette did the alternations for my wedding dress. I was concerned mostly with quality of…read morealternations, since my dress was pretty inexpensive as far as wedding dresses go. However, it needed some major alterations. It had to be brought down at least 2 sizes in the waste and hips, plus I needed halter straps added. (why so many strapless dresses?!?!) Violette had great recommendations so I went with her. When I dropped off the dress to her 4 months a head of time, she did the initial fitting and had measured for the halter straps. The dress had some beautiful details I was worried about (lace appliques along the one side, tulle wrap around and tulle over the dress part.) but when I came back (after only about 1.5 weeks), the dress fit beautifully and there were no obvious places where she made adjustments. I took it home and she said that I should come back a month before the wedding and we can check it again. The only tweak we ended up having to do after the initial fitting was that she had added halter straps that were white and the dress is off white (I didn't even notice myself until I had taken the dress outside after someone at Mens Warehouse had mentioned that in passing! Indoors it looks like an exact match!) I brought it back and she remade custom straps within a week. It was an easy mistake that was easily changed, and in fact, the second strap she made was even better than the first! She told me that if I lost any more weight before the wedding to bring it back and she would make more adjustments... even up to the week of the wedding. It wasn't necessary btu I felt good knowing that she was quick and wanted to make me happy. I wore that dress for a solid 10 hours and was totally comfortable the ENTIRE time. I would recommend her to anyone. She is a very sweet woman, and very accommodating.

My wife had her wedding dress altered here for our wedding and then dry cleaned afterwards. Yang was professional and courteous throughout the entire process. The alteration process was a bit long, requiring multiple visits, but Yang was receptive to any changes that we wanted. I appreciate that after any work is done, he allowed us to check his work and if there was anything we weren't happy with he was opening to making the changes. Overall, I feel like his prices are reasonable for the work he does. My only strong word of advice is to make sure to call ahead before coming into the store to make sure that whatever work is done because usually he's behind schedule.

I wanted to let you know about the heartwarming experience we had Dao Tailor…read more My daughter purchased a beautiful dress from Vows last year for her wedding. Sadly just a few months before her wedding it was cancelled. My daughter was flying in for a scheduled fitting with Dao and on top of finishing her fitting properly with no rush to pick up her dress when completed, Dao gave her a discount as well as bestowing my daughter lovely, kind words of wisdom and encouragement and told her that she was meant for someone better and this cancellation was just the way to make room for it to happen . As a mom we don't expect anyone else to love and care for our kids like we do. This was such an unexpected blessing to a very difficult time. Dao is extraordinary tailor and human. Surprisingly, the appointments are not very long. The first appointment, I wore the dress and Dao immediately told me a list of things she needed to fix (things that I am clueless about so I cannot verify if true or not) and provides a quote/invoice. The second appointment is a double check. The final appointment was my longest one as I asked her to make a small tweak, which she did on the spot. I did notice that the dress felt more supportive and structured on the last visit due to the work she did (adding boning etc). She usually has one other associate working in the shop and together, they are extremely good at hyping you up as you try on the dress. Cost wise, my friend and I both spent about $1K each on our dresses. In summary, Dao is very confident in her skills and vision and it is clear she has a lot of experience in wedding dresses as her entire shop is lined with wedding dresses. PS. My friend looked STUNNING on her wedding day - the dress fit like a glove and was so flattering. She told me you can take the dress back after your appointments if you need more work. PPS. There is free street parking.
