The guy is REALLY GOOD AND KNOWS HIS CRAFT BUT and it's a huge but so read later. I had my dress shirts and a few other things done at his place for about 3 years. Dry cleaning was cheap, I believe he beat the competition back then, and the work quality was good! He actually subcontracted to a guy who did it for him in bulk. But as people shifted to more casual dressing at work, that contactor stopped due to lack of volume. That was around 2019 more or less. So the guy just couldn't do it at the same price, nor the same pace and he didn't have the same tools to maintain the same quality. I went to someone else to get my shirts done. But for other stuff, I'd still rely on him. Haven't had any business at his place since about mid 2019. In all my years, he only messed up once while cleaning a pant. Luckily it was an old pant with zero value. I think it was just that his machine was too old. The real and biggest problem was that he progressively started to become more and more unpredictable with his official store opening hours. YOu'd stop by when he was suppsoed to be open and it would be closed. You'd need to call him to make sure he was there to pick up. And as time passes by, he would not finish the job by the promised date. It wasn't a big deal for me, but I can understand that it's an issue for others. Feels like he didn't care much about the business anymore... I don't know if he's still in business or retired, I often see the shop closed when I drive by. I'm hoping he still working. I'd rely on him for things that require high skills because he does know really his stuff, especially when it comes to old or forgotten tailor techniques. But for things where time is the essence, I would not rely on him. read more

I brought in a suit and a white Cotton Collared shirt for cleaning. I was read some of the comments online so I was pretty optimistic, but I thought what's the worst that could happen. There's some bad reviews and some ok reviews. The suit was dry cleaned appropoiately but the white shirt looks worse after the cleaning than before. The assosicate who helped me when I dropped the shirt off said the cleaning would really help brighten the white etc. Well the shirt was dry cleaned and is not an eggshell color. When I picked up the item, I relayed my unhappiness with the quality of the cleaning to the owner, who seemed under the influence. He began to tell me its not his responsibility and that the little girl gave me incorrect information. He said he would give me 3 dollars off the $35 order. He also said he never has any complaints and he's done 300 shirts this week and I am the problem. This is when I really began to be enraged. DO NOT SUPPORT THIS BUSINESS! THIS GUY IS NOT TO BE TRUSTED WITH YOUR CLOTHES. I will never go to a cleaners out of pure convenience. As a student I made the wrong decision. I needed some buttons sown on my winter coat. Today is such a warm day that I could finally leave my coat somewhere without freezing. The store owner refused to sow the buttons on, claiming that my coat was drity and that it needed to be cleaner before. I'm sorry, but the coat wasn't that dirty, and even if it was, I don't see the problem with sowing some buttons on it. This place gets that illusive 5 star review from me, thanks to the phenomenal service the owner provided me with today. I dropped in a suit last week to be dry cleaned with the intention that I would pick it up yesterday (I was out of town all week). Imagine my feeling of self loathing when i went to collect it, and realized that they closed a few hours early (as advertised but I never noticed the sign) for the holiday weekend. I deserved it given I left things to the 11th hour and needed the suit for a wedding the next day. A guy outside the store obviously saw my face and look of terror, approached me, mentioned he knew the owner, and proceeded to call him on his cell phone. Within a few minutes the owner came down the road walking, was opening up the shop for me and 30 seconds later I'm done and walking out the door with my suit in my hands! It was 15 bucks for a full suit and shirt laundered - heck I gave him a twenty and told him to keep the change just for being such a great guy - he'd been having a beer in the local! No grumpiness, a big smile from him, and me leaving as a very happy (read that as relieved) customer. read more

This place is fantastic.The owner is super nice, very friendly and makes sure that you are taken care of. I see him there all the time and he is open earlier than I have to go to work and later when I get home so I can pick up my dry cleaning at a convenient time. They do a great job, clothes look awesome and when I talk to people in the neighborhood they always mention that the owner is a great guy. Recently I brought a few pairs of pants in to get hemmed and I didn't really have any expectations but when I got my pants back a few days later I was stunned at the quality. It was about $8/hem and you could not see a dang stitch. Even on those black blended fabric business suit pants. I didn't know that a hem could be hidden so well. I was so happy with the quality (hence the great review). I will 100% continue to go back and trust this place with all of my clothing. read more

Mark not only loves what he does, but he's great at it. Everytime I have ever needed anything quickly he has always come through. Most recently during the heat wave he was working after hours to try and keep his equipment and himself cool while still making sure he got people's orders on time. Dropped of shirts on friday, guy says ready by monday, but when i go to pick it up on wednesday it's literally sitting in the same corner untouched. No discount, guy didnt seem to care. I love this place. Did you know that if you have a sweater dry cleaned here they'll stitch any holes you have in that sweater for FREE! FREE! I've been going to Parise since I moved to town a few years ago. My landlord, a local grown fella, recommended it to me and it was a score! It's a family-run operation and last time I was in, I had to wait 3 minutes for the owner to come back from picking his kids up from the corner elementary school. Worth the wait to see such a genuine interaction between father and kids. Anyhow, the dry cleaning is fast, good and always on time. I often get things altered by Jimmy (I think), the older man who work there. He's quite a guy too. As old as he is, he was able to build a super trendy cuff on some very expensive modern pants of mine. Not only is his work really good, it's extremely affordable. I'll drive the extra distance to give Parise my business. My only complaint is that there is a credit card minimum. That cranks my shaft wherever I go, so nothing against Parise! read more

Should be negative stars. We were visiting from out of town and needed a quick sewing repair on Tuesday before Thanksgiving. Told it would take only 5 minutes, but to pick it up Saturday after Thanksgiving. Store was closed; tried on Monday and saw a sign they were closed for repairs and no one was around. Had to leave town on Tuesday and called multiple times. Only got an answering machine, but once. Told it would now be ready today (Saturday a week later.) Had to inconvenience a relative try to pick it up today and it still wasn't done. We just retrieved the unfinished item. Excellent service. I just moved to the area and need a reliable dry cleaner in East Cambridge for work clothes. Based on reviews, this seemed to be the winner (because the 2 other local dry cleaners seemed to have terrible reviews.) I dropped off 5 shirts and 1 pants for a wash & dry clean. They were ready in 2 days (but could've been expedited, but I told the owner that I was not in a rush) for $19. The owner is down to earth and friendly. This store also is open later than the others in the surrounding area, which helps to pick up or drop off clothes after work. Will come here again. read more

I used their tailoring services once, and never will again. This is a dry cleaner who has been in the neighborhood for a long time. They have a fantastic amount of inventory in the works, but somehow the whole place seems a bit chaotic and disorganized. While I was waiting in line, two customers were standing in front of me while the staff searched haphazardly for their clothes. Not a great sign. I had a few items to be hemmed. Their tailoring station is a small anteroom just off of the main counter space. Like the rest of the shop, it is very messy and disorganized. Not a great sign. I dropped everything off and took my ticket after being told to return in a week. Well a week cam around, and I returned to find that not only were my clothes not ready, they hadn't even started the work. They asked me to come back in another week. This time, I called. They informed me that half of my items were ready for pick up. These were just minor alterations, nothing that would have required more than a few minutes work. Certainly not two weeks. It took FOUR weeks to get everything back. Needless to say, I've moved on to another tailor. My advice is only use Parise if you have a great deal of time on your hands. read more

Friendly, local family running the place. After a while they got to remember my name -- they really made me feel at home. I've been taking my shirts here to get laundered for most of eight years, buttons sewed back on, stains: never a problem, completely reliable. My friend and I bought new tuxes for his wedding and we didn't even consider going anyplace else: they did the alterations with care and precision. I had dropped off a suit to be dry cleaned and mentioned that I wasn't in a rush, so we scheduled the pickup in one week. When I went to go pick it up that next week on Wednesday, he said the machines were down and they weren't able to dry clean it. He asked if it would be okay if I came back the next day and he would definitely have it done. I said okay and then I came back on Thursday and it still wasn't ready, and the response was oh I'll do it right now and give you a call back by the end of the day. There was no call back and on Friday I called and it still wasn't ready for a wedding that I had on Saturday which I let him know. Seeing the trend yet? It ended up not being ready so I had to wear a really old suit to my friend's wedding. I finally picked it up the following week (2.5 weeks later) and there were two holes in the pants, which I let him know about when I got home. When I brought them back, I was instructed that it was not his fault and that it must have been my fault that the holes happened. He said it was probably moths which I've never had any issue with before and none of my other clothes have any holes. It may have been moths there as my clothes were sitting there for 2.5 weeks. I thought it was very unprofessional that he didn't compensate me for having to wait or for the damages, and didn't call to update me as he promised. I will not come here again and I recommend checking out Cambridge St. Cleaners as they are really professional about their work. read more

I had dropped off a blouse to be altered and, instead of fixing it, the owner destroyed it. Not only did he refuse to fairly compensate me for the replacement value of the blouse or reimburse me for the alteration fee, but he also insulted me personally, telling me my clothes were rags and that I needed to buy new ones, and refusing to accept blame for destroying my blouse. I had dropped this blouse off six weeks earlier and was promised it would be ready at the end of the week. I called repeatedly over the next few weeks and went in person several times - every time I was told the blouse would be ready the next day. It never was. I finally had to sit and wait while he sewed it the day before I left town for 3 weeks, only to have him poke holes in the back of the blouse as he mishandled the sewing machine. I waited six weeks for him to ruin my blouse rather than fix it. Parise Cleaners has been my regular cleaners since I moved to the neighborhood three years ago, and I'd had overall positive experiences there. I like to support local businesses and this is as local, family-owned as you get. Unfortunately, the owner's true colors came out when he made this mistake and refused to own up to it. I'd been nothing but patient during these six weeks of waiting, and my patience was repaid with personal attacks, shouting, and an unwillingness to fairly compensate me for my property which he had destroyed. I won't be back and cannot recommend a business that treats its customers like this to anyone. read more

However, on my first visit, they lost my clothes for about 4 weeks and then still charged me for the dry cleaning once they were found. Had to stop in multiple times to inquire about my missing clothes too, and stay on them until they were found. I have been going here for years and the service has been excellent. The owner always tried his darnedest to get the stains out of my clothes and always did a great job. Same for the tailor on the premises. All that has changed. Today, I learned due to health reasons they are closing. Today, I brought in many pairs of pants and a shirt for darning and cleaning. Even though the tailor wasn't scheduled to work that day, the man behind the counter said "eh, he usually comes in around 4, so you can leave your number and we'll give you a call then." I got the call, and something like two hours later had a pair of perfectly hemmed pants. When I tried to give a tip for tremendous service, it was turned down as it was explained to me "you're family now." Brought in a dress to be cleaned. When I went back to pick it up Mark mentioned that he had a "hard time" with the zipper but he got it. I said thank you, went home and tried the zipper - it was broken. It clearly was broken there, and he clearly saw that when I went to pick it up, but told me it was "ok". When I brought the dress back in, the tailor told me he would replace the zipper with one that did not match. I told him I wanted the zipper to match he said "does it really matter." I said yes it matters! Then he tried to tell me that since it was not a YKK zipper, it wasn't a good zipper. He does not know that I sew clothing and that Talon, the brand of zipper used in the dress, is a quality zipper. I bought the dress at Nordstrom and they are known for quality clothing. Then Mark got involved, telling me these zippers break all the time, they get old, dry up, have stress put on them, but that they never break zippers because they zip up things all the time. He was very condescending , repeatedly giving me one reason after another as to how they just never break zippers since they zip things all the time. Zippers drying out? Seriously! Also I told him the dress was new, just worn two times and he said well they are bound to break sometime. If he called me "hon" one more time between all of the lame excuses as if I were a child or not very smart, I think I was going to scream. I let him know I was not happy and I left the store with my dress in tow. Will not be going back and it seems my only recourse was to write this to warn others. read more
