Spacious laundromat at the intersection of 7th Street and Cambridge Street. Larger than I expected and pretty spacious. There are varying sizes of machines. The washing machines range from $4.25-$6.25 and the dryers are $25 for 6 minutes. We had a pretty heavy load and the sweet owner, Maria, helped us decide how long we should put the dryer. For a large load, she suggested 36 minutes, so the dryer is pretty cheap. Convenient location to the area and not really busy. They also have free wifi and all machines accept credit cards. read more

I need a refund ASAP. This laundry mat has been giving me issues every time I come. Today I paid times for a $8.50 machine. The washer did not start and I refuse to take my clothes out until it's paid for. I have called the owners many times and left several messages. These people are basically stealing money from customers and it's not fear at all. I'm Most likely going to have to paid another $8.50 to wash my clothes which is inconvenient for me. read more

This is a review of both the Cambridge Street location and the Hampshire Street location. They're both terrible, but Cambridge Street is slightly less terrible, fwiw. 1 the place is really dirty. Sometimes it's actually kind of gross. 2 it's swell that they take credit cards on the washers and dryers, but some of us are fine using quarters and frequently the coin slots are jammed. I don't want to be forced to use a credit card, especially if I just got $10 in quarters from your change machine 3 so many broken dryers. I lost $ in one just now because it wouldn't start after adding money via credit card 4 OMFG the TVs with terrible crap playing. Just no. At least give us a way to turn it off or change the channel Anyway time to find a new laundromat. read more

This place is suck! There's no hot water even if you have the choice to pick to wash your clothes in hot warm or cold water & Only a little amount of water to wash clothes. The owner or the people who run this place they are rude, don't mind their own business.This Place also very dirty. read more

This is hands down the worse laundromat I've ever been to. 8 out of 16 dryers are either out of order or need service. If your looking to waste your time this would be the place since Everything takes twice as long. This is clearly a cash cow with little if any concern for the customer. Washing cloths down by the river or in the sink by hand would be a better option. read more

Stay far, far away from this. I'm used to going to laundromats and this is by far the WORST. -There is no one there to help you if a machine doesn't work, or if it eats up your quarters. -Machines here regularly don't accept your money. Sometimes I have to try 2-3 different machines before it will take my credit card. Sometimes I don't know if the machine accepted my credit card and I have to remind myself to check my credit card bill to make sure it didn't accidentally charge me extra. -I use my credit card because the quarter machine doesn't work. I try to put in money and my bills don't even go in. So, no quarters. -Did I mention there is no one there, ever, to help you? If you don't have extra quarters or a credit card with you, you are out of luck. This is not a big laundry place. I wouldn't say it's clean, it's in OK condition. Even though this is close to where I live, I think I'd rather give my money to the 5th street laundromat. Seems like they actually invest in their machines and care about their customers! read more

I've been doing laundry here for two years and the place gets progressively worse and worse. I've had it with this place and I am done with it. EVERYTHING is broken, the machines dont work for cards or cold water, the prices go up and today I paid for a dryer that didnt even turn (not the first time). I've filled out that stupid out of order card for a refund and have never received one. Today the f*cking pen to fill out the card was also broken too! This is for the Hampshire street location which does not have it's own yelp page. I've been using this laundromat for 2 years and each time I go it seems to get worse. There are new owners and they don't take care of the machines at all. Half the machines always seem to be out of order but the signs usually are on the floor so it's a luck of the draw on which machine is the broken one. The quarter receiver in the machines never recognize quarters so you have to keep track to make sure you aren't overpaying for less time. They increased the rates on the machines when they replaced them (to smaller machines), so what used to be $2.50 per load is now $4 in a machine approximately 2/3 the size. The dryers also increased in prices and usually overheat halfway through so you have to stand there to open and close the door and lint filter repeatedly until it starts back up again. I've spoken to the owners and every time the quarters don't read she takes my quarters and scrapes them on the counters saying I'm not doing it right and I have to scratch the coins more before using them, everyone knows that. What?? Just fix the machines! And if the heaters overheat, she says I shouldn't have walked away from it. So if you know how to properly "scratch" your quarters, like to stare at a dryer for 45 minutes and don't mind paying $10+ dollars for laundry, then they... have free wifi? But honestly, I just walk the extra quarter mile to one of the places in Inman instead. Much cheaper and no quarter scratching needed. read more

This is for the Hampshire st. Location which has no separate yelp page. I go here all the time and the perk is that you can use a credit card for the machine. When they first took over the space it was a big improvement but hasn't been well maintained since. They just replaced all the dryers this week, which have no credit card swipe, eat quarters, and run cooler than they should so they take forever to dry your clothes. I have had to add money three times to one dryer. It's going on 90 minutes in the dryer now. Strangely, half the machines, which are supposed to be brand new, have "out of order" signs on them. Wish there was a way to contact the owner other than yelp, but there's no staff there to speak to, refund my lost money, etc. This place has wasted my money and my time and I'll be taking my business elsewhere from now on. read more

Suds zo good to use my credit card for laundry. Gone are the annoying days of pockets full of quarters! This place could use a little more basic housekeeping... Just make sure not to drop any of your clean clothes on the floor! There are many multiple-load washers here, so even when it's busy, I've always found a machine to use. All of my bedding was stolen. Owner tried to blame it on me. Yet, My bedding had not dried, though I put it in separate driers. I then consolidated after 70 minutes (I have the credit receipt for all times). So, dryers do not work, you must leave overnight..but, if you haven't the chance to get your stuff the next day (you know, if you work and all), some sleeze bag from the neighborhood will steal it from you. Do not go here. Bad equipment. Bad owner. Pay attention to the sign...they are "not responsible" for anything that happens in their store. He reminded me over and over. AKA...He doesn't care at all. No refund for even the laundering service was offered. If you do intend to keep sitting there for several hours till your stuff is dry-ish...this is your place. But, I separated my stuff and put in 60+ minutes each. I have all the receipts for it. I wash my bedding every week and am adamant about it. (I usually go to a different mat with an attendant. sorry i didn't this time) The stuff is still not dry. I do not care about the cost. I care that it is clean. I will miss my quilted purple throw blanket. Hopefully, it didn't end up in a dumpster somewhere. Guess you just can't leave your stuff overnight without having someone steal it...and the owner is so concerned with you not taking quarters out of the machine (which are rarely available, anyway). They have cameras for that! But, not for paying customers. Don't GO! But, hopefully my bedding went to someone in need. Still, it's not cool. Hire a person to monitor the place, give change and assist with broken equipment. It's really not a hard thing to do at 8 bucks an hour. Owner does not deserve your business. read more

The machines which accept credit cards are a nice thing to have, but only IF they are accepting credit cards. Which they do not do on a consistent basis. Once I went there with a massive load of laundry, but the big machine into which I put my clothing did not accept the swipe. Since I only had a $20, I went back to it again with scads of quarters, and started feeding them in, until I noticed that the amount being registered stayed the same! The machine was taking my coins, it just wasn't recording them. To the owner's credit, when I reported this, they did refund the $2 I said I had lost in the machine (it was probably more, but I had not been paying attention.) The dryers are not a lot better. Some of them overheat so badly that a much loved fleece blanket was melted down, and is no longer fuzzy and cuddly but scratchy and prickly. Or the dryer will not be heated at all, despite whatever setting you have put it on, and after half an hour you will be pulling out cold, still wet clothing, and have to start all over again at a dryer that you can only hope has a heating element that works. Speaking of the dryers, the plastic lint filters that the "new" machines came with have, in several machines, been replaced with metal screening in a metal frame. Whoever made these substitute filters did not bother to chamfer the metal bars that they used for the framework, and one time when I was cleaning out the filter, as you're supposed to do, the metal sliced one of my fingers really good. Fortunately I'm the kind of person who carries adhesive bandages, because otherwise all my clothing would have had blood spots all over it. I think I'm going to join other reviewers here and check out the laundromats in Inman Square, because I'm tired of spending good money for inconsistent and not always useful machinery. Oh, and only TWO laundry carts in the whole place, and one of them looks like it has been in use since the 1950s. read more
