Excellent service. I gave her 5 clothes. She cleaned 2 and explained clearly that because the other 3 were contrasts , the colors would bleed into themselves. She cleaned out all the stains from the 3 and gave me a refund. I was so impressed Thank you Topcleaners read more

I took a jacket to be cleaned because it had a stain on the lower front. When I picked it up the stain was still there and I wash it charged $18. My wife she said she'd try and got it out with Dawn, peroxide and Woolite. And she didn't charge me anythin. read more

Go elsewhere. You will thank me later. I asked her, are you sure we want to measure the alteration this way? The owner assured me she was confident. Spoiler alert. They were measured wrong. This place is not cheap and does a bad job. And real lose lose. If you're thinking of making a trip... just go elsewhere read more

Just so reliable and always great service/quality of cleaning. Very happy with coming here!

Top Cleaners denied damaging a blouse that I submitted for cleaning. This happens with the automatic machines and I would have been accepting of this if they had accknowledged that mistake. They claim that it was damaged on submission, but I know that it was not, and it had a cleaning tag on it when returned, and they had tried to repair the hole without asking my permission to do so. Please see my prior post about this. After a few months, we decided to return to get services with them. They cleaned one set of our clothes and asked us to remove the negative review. We did not remove the review and when we returned for a second cleaning, they denied service unless we removed the online review. This is violates the Consumer Review Fairness Act, which protects your right to share honest opinions about a business without fear of retaliation, including being denied service. read more

I needed next day cleaning on a suit and they were able to do that with no hassle and for a very inexpensive rush cleaning fee. It came back just as I needed and Ive already told people I know in Cambridge about it in case they need something cleaned quickly too. read more

Top Cleaners has been my go-to spot for the past three years. When I moved to Inman Sq, I tried a few places around the area, and most had very limited hours. Top Cleaners is open early to late during the week, and most of the day Saturday. The people behind the counter are always polite and friendly. They proactively reach out when my clothes are ready, and you can pay either at the time of drop off or pickup. For their location, I'd say the prices are decent -- I'd bet you could find cheaper places elsewhere in the city, but at a place that's open every other Tuesday for 2 random hours. If you leave in the area, Top Cleaners is the place to trust with your dry cleaning and shirts! read more

Can't recommend unfortunately. Dropped off two outfits with 3 pieces each to be dry cleaned. Very expensive, but I was happy to pay for good service and prompt delivery. When I came to pick up the outfits, only one was ready as they couldn't find one of the pieces (pants) for the second outfit. They said to come back 2 days later. I came back, still nothing. They finally messaged me that they found the item and I could pick up the full outfit later that week. They messaged the day I was meant to pick it up that it would be another 2 days. Finally picked it up - 10 days past the original ready day!! They wouldn't offer me any discount. The best they could do was 10% off a future visit and even tried to tell me they undercharged me initially. Clearly never coming back. Not professional at all. read more

Always friendly, fairly priced. A real part of our neighborhood, easy to get to and orders are always ready on time.

The only place to take your clothes! Super friendly, wonderfully priced, and fast. She can get out any stain, tighten any button, and hems all of my pants. I wouldn't dream of going anywhere else! read more

Well, for starters, it might be called Top Cleaners, but it's certainly not at the top of my list. I took a sweater there a few months ago. When I went back to pick it up, they didn't have it. They told me to come back in a few days. When I went back a few days later they still didn't have it-- and I started to wonder where it was-- did another client end up with it? Were the dry cleaners wearing it on weekends? Finally, a week later it magically turned up. What I hated the most was that no one at Top Cleaners seemed to think that any of this warranted an apology. Ever since, I've been going to Golden Touch on Mass Ave, and they are *excellent*. read more

I've used them for dry cleaning and sewing hems. The quality of their cleaning/sewing is fine, however their service leaves something to be desired. The last time I went I dropped a pair of pants to them. I went to pick them up on the day they said they'd be ready only to find that they'd mistakenly given the pants to another customer. I had to wait another day for that customer to return them. Now when this happens would you charge the customer full price? Well, Top Cleaners did - did not even discount the service. They inconvenienced me and didn't live up to their promise of quick service and then didn't even think to, perhaps, not charge me or even give me a small discount. Full price in spite of giving my pants to another customer and making me wait. Not the way to keep your customers. read more

pretty good. Nothing fancy, just cleaning. Run by 2-3 people, very nice and considerate. I've brougt in a variety or clothing, expensive, and cheap, and both come back in great condition, except for some starch spots on the collar, which all dry cleaners have for some odd reason. I went there with some shirts once, and thy had to hand iron them because of the buttons. They would usually charge a lot more, but said, just make sure to make note of this next round...very good people. read more

It's hard to find a good tailor who is affordable and reliable, and I'm so happy a friend recommended Top Cleaners. I have most of my clothes tailored, including jeans, and Julie does a fantastic job. When she takes in the waist on a pair of pants, she leaves no extra material in the back so it actually looks like I bought them that way. If you have your pants tailored, then you know what I mean. People often mess this up! She's also very friendly and always remembers my name, and is fast with dry cleaning. Great service! read more

Have used this cleaner for dry cleaning, had items ready on time and properly cleaned. Went back to have a tulle skirt hemmed and they did a great job! They needed a bit more time (a couple more days) to get the skirt done, but I live around the corner so it wasn't a big deal to come back again today to pick it up. Fits perfectly (had it taken in) :) Thank you! read more

[Please note that Top Cleaners is moving... just a couple of blocks away... to 1300 Cambridge Street, next to the East Cambridge Savings Bank. They say the move will happen sometime the week of July 26, 2010, but they expect full continuity of service.] I've only taken in mens shirts, ties, and suits, but I've had nothing but the best service here. This family-run business has done well by me every time I've gone in (7 or 8 times), even staying open an extra 15 minutes when I was running late on a Friday evening and called in. The price is right for such friendly, competent service! I was worried when they said they're moving, but very happy that they're staying in the neighborhood. read more

This place is under new management, and has drastically improved there customer service / operations. Been using it weekly for a year now and absolutely no complaints, in fact Julie (who is always there) remembers more about our orders than my wife and I and goes out of her way to make the service better. If you were turned off by previous ownership (rightfully so), i strongly encourage you try again. read more

When getting a dress cleaned, the manager told me that they took no responsibility for the clothes, so if the dress was destroyed in the cleaning process, it would not be their fault. What? Is that standard? Furthermore, several of the people working here don't speak english, so unless you show up with a bag of clothes or a claim check in hand they won't be able to figure out what you want. Considering how many of these mom-and-pop shops are around, I would go to a different one. I now go to Squeaky Cleaners down Hampshire St. read more

Not sure what all the negative reviews on here are about--they must be from before when I believe Top Cleaners was owned by someone else. Julie is great - she has gotten some really tough oil stains out of my clothes and everything has come back clean and shiny. She has also done excellent tailoring for me, including taking some pencil skirts in four sizes (and one of them had a very challenging cut, which she handled with great skill). The dry cleaning isn't cheap, but compared to some of the bad experiences I've had with other cleaners in the area, I didn't mind paying a bit of a premium for quality. read more

I've spent a couple hundred dollars with Julie and have always been satisfied until recently. I recently had a suit dry cleaned, and Top Cleaners somehow shredded the lining on the inside of the jacket. When I asked Julie to fix it, she denied responsibility and suggested it was my fault. She has always been friendly and has done a good job in the past, so I wouldn't give her 1 star, but I won't ever be coming back. read more

I tried Top because I was meeting a friend for dinner at East Coast Grill and was coming from Boston so rather than going to my regular dry cleaner I dropped my suit and coat off at Top. Have to admit that I made a couple of mistakes. First, I really like my current dry cleaner so not sure why I did not just go there. Next, I did not ask how much it cost to clean a woman's suit and winter coat. Finally, I assumed that the turn around would be the same as my regular cleaner. Was wrong on so many counts. I stopped back a couple of days after I dropped off the suit and coat and nothing was ready yet. Partly my fault for not asking, but shouldn't they tell you or right it down somewhere. I asked if they could send me an email to let me know when it was ready so I would not have to keep coming back. They said that they do not have email. Really, don't have email. Its only like 2011!! Came back two more times before my clothes were ready. That's when the fun really started. The suit cost more than I normally pay, but the coat, you've got to be kidding. I asked the person at the counter if they had made a mistake and they said no. When I told them my other cleaner charged a lot less, their answer was that they do a much better job and that I was paying for service. Service, I had to come back 3 times before my clothes were ready and they wouldn't or couldn't even send me an email. Serves me right for being lazy and not going to my regular dry cleaners. Won't let that happen again. read more

This place is super reliable. Have gotten some wicked stains off my jacket and dress shirts. Staff is friendly and remind me of laundry pick up through text. Come here regularly to have my dress shirts washed. Thank you! read more

Not even worth giving them a star. Because I will never ever go back here. I bought my dress the same day I dropped it off at this store. It was a two piece gown, and they had to shorten the sleeves, move the button, and shorten the bottom. Picked up the gown (a designer gown), and it had several markings and pulled threads. All of the sudden it was the materials fault for being cheap, when it was a $430 dress. It wasn't the people who handled the materials fault. Funny how that works. I paid over a hundred dollars for crappy alterations and a damaged dress. If you're going to prom with a trendy expensive dress, don't go here. Also, not only was it bad quality, the ladies were very rude and quick to blame me. (The person who didn't handle the dress at all.) read more

The service may lack slightly in the superfriendly area. BUT... they saved my life by hemming a bridesmaid dress within a few short days. They have a little area for trying on your clothes to pin you up nicely and communicate with you to make sure you are happy with the length and so forth. They are on time, efficient, and not pricy and thats all I need. Since then I have had several pair of pants hemmed there. I almost never get my clothes tailored or dry cleaned so it could be that I am ecstatic for no good reason, but they deserve a good review anyhoo. read more

I used them for dry cleaning my sports jacket and pants before a wedding. The woman I dealt with was very friendly and she had my clothes ready in 3 days or so. The clothes look great and considering how convenient their location is I would use them again in a heartbeat. read more

My local dry cleaner in East Somerville closed and since I work in Inman Sq I started taking items here. It's a pain since I don't have a car but still worth it. Good customer service, clothes cleaned and back in two to three days. They de-pilled my sweater without my asking. The woman who works there is a lovely person and clearly wants to keep her customers coming back. read more

Julie is the best! She is very friendly and always has my dry cleaning ready on time. She's fun to talk to, and she helps you out by noticing little details and doing extra things for her regular customers (fixing a seam that is coming undone)! It's worth noting that her reviews on this site don't really make sense because the place has had different owner in previous years, so low ratings are not reflective of Top Cleaners as it is in 2013! read more

I love this place. No issues at all. Friendly people and on time service. The prices are great. All of your clothes comes back practically brand new again! read more

Excellent cleaning and especially tailoring. They made an expensive suit a friend gave my boyfriend look like it was made for him. On another occasion I took an old dress that was several decades old to be pressed and she replaced the elastic free of charge. Their work is beautiful and they are the pleasantest people that can be met in Cambridge. Also, they are practically always open, other than Sunday. They are not cheap, but they save you money by making old clothes better than new. I can't recommend Top Cleaners highly enough. read more

I started to use these guys recently and I've been very happy thus far. They are super friendly and I haven't had any problems with their services at all -- they have even delivered on removing some nasty stains that I didn't think they could tackle. I invest a lot in my wardrobe and it's alway tough for me to go someplace new, but after a couple months I have nothing but good things to say! read more

I've been going to them for years. Before it changed owners the place was so so, but the couple that now runs it is terrific. They've done a great job with stains and repairs, and they've even called me when I've forgotten to pick something up. Plus they're very sweet and always ask about my studies, which gives it a nice neighborhood feel. read more

I've been going here for almost 3 years. Julie always remembers me and does a great job with my clothes. Sometimes I have oil stains or pen ink stains, and she'll say "I don't know. I'll try..." and she always manages to get them out. She's also very realistic--I took a pair of jeans that had been stained by red dye from a purse and she let me know that she probably couldn't get that out and it wouldn't be worth me paying for. read more

Took a dress to Top Cleaners and asked them to take out a stain on a dress. Woman behind the counter told me she was not sure she would be able to dry clean it (she was worried about a black portion of the dress bleeding onto the rest). I asked her to please try to clean it as I had no other option and the tag on the dress recommended dry cleaning. We agreed she would test an area and then clean it. Went back the following week to pick it up for the event I had the next day, and she told me she did not clean it. I was frustrated because she never called to tell me she wasn't going to clean it and I needed it the very next day. When I expressed this she said, "Yes I guess I should have called you" but was otherwise not apologetic. I had to find another dry cleaners (Mid Cambridge Cleaners down the street - who were wonderful) to clean it the same day - which they did without any difficulty so I wonder what her concern ever was or if she even tried. Horrible experience and service - almost had no dress to wear due to this service! Take your items down the street to Mid Cambridge Cleaners!! read more

Julie is great! I've been going here for 5+ years and she is just great. Friendly, reasonably priced and I've never had any issues with service etc . read more

I drop off my shirts there for cleaning regularly since about a year ago. I'm always satisfied with the service. The woman who works there is nice, remembers who you are and everything goes smoothly and quickly. She always gives realistic estimates of when things will be ready and sticks to them. I recently gave her a pair of jeans for a repair and I'm very satisfied with the results. I don't know why this place is listed as 'pricey', the prices are more than reasonable. read more
