Great value, great service! The people who run this place know what they're doing and are incredibly kind. Google maps and Yelp do not have accurate hours though, so I would recommend checking out the hours posted on their door or calling ahead of time. read more

Perfect tailoring! She is incredible. She has tailored everything from high end runway dresses to old jeans for me- perfect every time. And great cost. I will never go anywhere else. read more

Predictably awesome for longer than I can remember. The building is under renovation but their hours haven't changed. Friendly/lovely owners

Haven't had a bad experience, so I gotta give them some high stars, but nothing really spectacular either. I will admit that I use them mostly because it's so convenient for me, but have been satisfied. Have done dry cleaning, laundering of shirts, and alterations. Dry cleaning - always comes back clean and mostly on time. Sometimes they claim you dropped it off after you did, which is why it's not back, but usually it'll get back at least after 5pm on the day you expect it. Laundering - have the starch option or not and comes back on a hanger. Alterations - stick to simple alterations only. She freely admits when she can't do it and when she says she can do it, it's come back professional looking and it hasn't fallen apart. When the alteration was on a dress with stretchy material, she admitted she couldn't do it right and referred me to another seamstress. Friendly - I've been there often and they never seem to really recognize me, but they are friendly. She's a heck of a lot more friendly than the man. And the younger guy is also really friendly. I think they do laundry by the pound, but haven't used that before. They only take Cash and Visa/Mastercard I think, so keep your Amex at home... read more

I've always been wary about getting clothes dry cleaned, since most of my clothes aren't ones I'd be happy to replace due to a cleaning mishap. Some of the reviews on Yelp for Beacon Hill Cleaners worried me, but I'm happy to say that I've had nothing but positive experiences with them! It's a little expensive, but for the location and the service, I'm happy to pay the price. Not only is it very close to my apartment and very conveniently located across from the Charles/MGH T stop, but the service is phenomenal! I usually bring in loads of 3-6 dresses or skirts and it takes them about two or three days. Though, the few times I have asked for a quicker turnaround, they were happy to provide same day or next day service. All of my clothes have been perfectly cleaned without any issues. I've been dropping off my dry cleaning for almost 2 years and I'll continue to do so as long as I'm in the area! read more

Beacon Hill Cleaners - Sewing & Alterations Near Me - Boston, Massachusetts

Best dry cleaners in Boston. There are a few places closer to me, but I choose to take the T to Beacon Hill Cleaners because their prices are reasonable, they have quick turnaround, and wonderful customer service. And they are conveniently located right next to the Charles MGH T shop. I haven't used their alterations service yet, but will be doing so in the coming days. read more

They are the best! I've had everything done there - dry cleaning, hemming jeans, and bridesmaid dress alteration. The bridesmaid dress needed to have the lace, cap sleeved shoulders brought up, and I was a little nervous about how it would come out, but it was perfect. Their prices are really reasonable. Usually $10 to hem jeans, and the bridesmaid dress was only $80, which is much better than other places I've been to. read more

The best dry cleaner in the Boston area. Not only do they clean garments at a very reasonable price, they do the same with tailoring. I've brought them a few challenging projects - pants, jackets - and they've given them back, looking brand-new. As it was a friend's recommendation which brought Beacon Hill Cleaners to my attention, I'm more than happy to pay it forward and recommend them to others! read more

I am a happy customer of Beacon Hill Cleaners for more than a year. I first went there because they are located very close to my apartment. I remember that at first I was surprised for their prices since they looked very reasonable (even more taking into account the location). My next surprise was when I picked up my items: everything looked as brand new! Since then I am their customer; meaning that I drop stuff at least once per week (sometimes twice). Never a bad experience. Excellent service, quick (they have your items ready in 24h), and additionally they are super nice! I think that since I am their customer only in two occasions I had to return something since there was something wrong (and by wrong I mean that they forgot to remove a stain). Of course, they solved the "problem" for free... I seriously doubt there is a better place at the same price in the area! read more

I live in Brookline and come all the way here because they are the most professional, affordable, and quality operation I've found in the area! They do wonderful and timely work AND it is very well priced. I'm so happy I found them! read more

The best cleaners and tailor in Beacon Hill, hands down. Plus it's an independent family-run business that's really a part of the neighborhood -- not a chain or a franchise. Shirts come back perfectly -- none of the annoying wrinkles around the shoulders and wrists that a lot of places have. Not lightning-fast with the cleaning, though good. But if you need alterations done quickly -- and if you're a frequent customer -- they're done. Same day even. And well. And yes, if she can't do it, she'll tell you. If she can, it'll be perfect. And she can do 95% of what you send her. And no, the "little Chinese lady" as mentioned by another yelper is actually Vietnamese -- she runs the place with her family helping out. And her husband speaks much less English, so he doesn't seem as friendly, but he is. Their two teenagers are super nice, too. It doesn't look fancy like Sarni or Clevergreen, so it will never win Best of Boston -- but it should. read more

I brought 2 pairs of pants and 2 cashmere sweaters to BHC last week. The prices were average, $5 per item. And the items came back clean, however they HUNG UP my sweaters! I don't mean folded them in half and then hung them over the bar of the hanger, I mean hung them ON the hanger, shoulders and all...whuh? I think I'll stick with A Plus Cleaners by the State House. read more

I found Beacon Hill Cleaners 100% through Yelp. I'm glad I did. Not only is it next to Beacon Hill Pub (automatic 3 stars), service was: - Fast - Friendly - Seemingly well priced I didn't know what to expect with price, so $11.00 for the suit and $1.75 for my shirt seemed reasonable! I interacted with three employees; all were friendly and attentive. read more

I've been here just once for an alteration as it's not in my neighborhood, but I came based on a friends' recommendation. I needed a bridesmaid dress altered quickly; I'd been sent the wrong size and there wasn't time to order a new one and I was flying out for the wedding in a matter of days. The dress was too small and there wasn't a lot of fabric to work with, plus the type of fabric was likely to show the holes from the previous seams, but I was in a bind. The woman I worked with was so helpful and when I told her my time crunch, she said it wasn't a problem and would get it done that day. I came back in later and it was perfect. She'd had to let out several seams to get enough fabric, but it fit and the work was flawless. And she was so nice! I highly recommend. read more

I have had both dry cleaning and alterations done here, and they are by far the friendliest, most efficient, and cheapest dry cleaning / tailor place I've used in Boston. I had one suit and a few dresses cleaned - both came back perfect. I've had over 6 gowns altered here, and literally every single one was incredible. The fit was perfect, and Tran made sure I loved the finished product. The prices were half what had been quoted elsewhere, and I couldn't be happier with the service. This place is a hidden gem in the usually overpriced Beacon Hill area. Also, they accept credit cards! So convenient for an alteration place! read more

DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY OR TIME HERE. Not only will you receive horrible service, but you risk your clothes being ruined -- meaning more $$ for new clothes and for additional dry cleaning. I came here for the first time last week. I am new to the area and Beacon Hill Cleaners is the closest cleaners to my new apartment. I work a corporate job, so I rely heavily on good dry cleaning. I brought 13 pieces to Beacon Hill Cleaners, for which I was charged $90. This is fairly cheap for the area. When I picked up my clothes, I was shocked and angry. A white blouse (of over $100 value) had been ruined - newly stained with navy blue splotches all over it. On top of that, ALL of my other blouses, dresses, and skirts were extremely wrinkled, such that I will need to iron each one before I can wear it to work. I went back to request that I kindly receive my money back and had a very hard time with the woman at the front desk. She first suggested that she would fix it, which I declined for obvious reasons. She then said that she couldn't give me any money back because she had already paid the cleaners and this would be money out of her own pocket. Although I sympathize, I also had wasted money out of my own pocket and would have to pay to dry clean the clothes AGAIN and most likely replace the ruined blouse. Finally, I was able to get almost all of my money back. I am stunned that a dry cleaner of this poor quality has stayed in business, especially in this area of the city. I will never bring my clothes back and would strongly recommend that others do the same. It is worth some extra money and extra time to find a good dry cleaners. read more

The worst experience ever. We went there with a very expensive, delicate tie, which needed to be cleaned from food stains. The result was an unrecoverably wrinkled tie and, even though they are friendly, there was no real chance to communicate with the owners. I would not go there again. read more

I brought a dress shirt for cleaning. Store has quick turnaround. When I picked up the shirt, there was sticky brown lint on the back portion. I asked the owner about this and he told me this is normal. I asked if he thinks this is acceptable. His response was yes. He would not offer to remove it with a sticky roller, and refused a refund. Take this review for what it is. As for myself, I will not be returning. read more

I had a new zipper sewn onto my jeans here and the waist taken in on a pair of leather pants. The total cost was $45. Super easy experience and they went out of their way to get it done a couple days early for me! read more

Amazing dry cleaners! Great prices, they do a great job, and such great customer service. Lovely people-- super friendly and helpful! Would recommend to anyone. read more

I have only got my dress shirts laundered here. They do the best job in Boston. A huge pet peev of mine is a dirty collar, and beacon hill cleaners cleans it up every time. This place is great! read more

She is quite literally the best at alterations and dry cleaning. The prices also cannot be beat -!

I like this place a lot. They are very prompt and best of all very sweet and kind. The woman who usually helps me makes nice small talk which is a nice change to some of the other dry cleaners who don't even look at you when you go in. I got a coat altered recently and it was done within 2 days, and I should add this was in the midst of the holiday rush. read more

* Expert Tailoring * Professional Dry Cleaning * Shirts and Laundry -- I have had the first two and were extremely pleased. Friendly service and reasonable prices. This place was recommended to me by my neighbor a number of years ago. Will continue to use their services. read more

Great service, great prices. Have had tons of tailoring done here. Just be very specific about what you want and you'll be happy. Very friendly and accommodating. A great asset to the neighborhood. read more

Do not bring silk here! They will ruin it and not clean properly. Terrible customer service, I had money thrown at me because I complained from the fact that they could not remove a stain from my blouse, I now had to go elsewhere. The lady shouted you want your money back? And then threw the money back at me. It is as if they take a gamble on your business. I was humiliated. read more

I can't say enough good things about this place, I've been going here for years they've always done a great job I've never had an issue with any of their work but what really makes them one of the best dry cleaners around are the people they have working there. When my mother passed away I had to have my father's suit dry cleaned. It was very short notice not only did they rush the job to get it done on time but they didn't even charge me for it. I have to say they are an amazing business and I'll continue to use them as long as I'm in Boston. read more

Took my coat in for alterations to have the fur collar repaired, when I picked it up, the collar was crooked, when I brought it to their attention, they refused to correct. I won't be using them again read more

Do not get your drycleaning, or any tailoring of your clothes done at Beacon Hill Cleaners !!! I have a brand new premium designer (expensive) skirt that needed to be taken in at the waist, and when I picked it up, there were gatherings at the place where she sewed, AND short threads hanging. This is a beautiful very high end, premium designer skirt, and she ruined it! I am so mad, I will never ever go there again. The place along the seam where she took it in had sort of a bubbly look, it was bumpy. I brought the skirt back and she redid it, but my skirt still is ruined. I now take my clothing down the street to Clevergreen cleaners. Their drycleaning is a bit more pricey, but the quality and customer service could not be better; they are awesome. Also, this silk got dirty while in their cleaners, so they dry cleaned it again, and it is splotchy. Avoid Beacon Hill Cleaners! read more

I love this place and the Tran's are so nice. They always oversee my dry cleaning and the tailoring is great. The prices are pretty good and the shop is nice and cozy and clean and smells clean. read more

Went there for a very simple job: sewing a patch on my scrub top (I am a nursing student). I don't sew very well so I wanted it to look professional. I might as well have done it myself since it came out horrendous. It looks like they sewed it crooked first and then pulled it out to reposition it since you can see the marks from the original job. Nice staff, but very disappointed with their work. read more

I would given Beacon Hill Cleaners more than 5 stars if I could. Top quality alterations and dry cleaning. I have had simple and difficult alterations done over the years and everything has come out perfectly every time. This is a family run business committed to customer service and excellent work. Extremely reasonable, very friendly and efficient - I can't say enough good things about this place and the people who run it. read more

I had a Kenneth Cole trench coat cleaned. I almost didn't leave the belt because it was not dirty and they charge for a full piece. I decided to clean the belt anyway. When I went to pick up my coat the belt was covered in large RUST COLORED STATINS. I requested my money back for the cost of the cleaning for me to bring it somewhere else- She refused. My $350 coat actually cost me money for Beacon Hill Cleaners to destroy it. BUYER BEWARE~ ((The $1 or $2 you will save by using them is not worth it!!!)) read more

Great tailor! I had two designer suit jackets that I thought were not salvageable. They fixed them for an amazing price. I'm very pleased with the speed, quality, and price. Highly recommend. read more

I've had clothes dry cleaned here (not tailored), and I've always been very satisfied. The owners are extremely pleasant. They've even let me take my bike inside for a moment when I go in to pick things up, since it can be tough to find a spot to park it nearby. read more

I have been going to Beacon Hill Cleaners for close to 20 years. The owner does the best tailoring of anyone I've found in Boston, and she is honest about what she can and cannot tailor. She has hemmed many designer jeans for me, keeping the original hem, and she has completely reworked many of my sweetie's dress shirts that needed to be altered for his muscular shoulders and narrow waist. I've had one minor issue here in 20 years that the owner quickly remedied in a fair and highly satisfactory way. I'm pleased with this family-owned cleaners and will continue to bring my business here. read more

Friendly, fast, cheap, and they always do a good job, whether it's cleaning or tailoring. So far I'm very happy to have them close by

When we were living in Beacon Hill, we came to Beacon Hill Cleaners all the time for our dry cleaning. Their same day service was absolutely convenient for us, dropped off the clothes before work and picked them up at the end of the day. It was so convenient and they were always so nice. I've been having a hard time finding dry cleaners by where I live now that offers the same services as this place. read more

I went there to get a table cloth cleaned on short notice. I walked up and down Charles street to drop it off for same day cleaning, but various dry cleaners mentioned that the same day cleaning didn't apply to tablecloths. I went to this place, and they said no problem! I was impressed that they were flexible and did something that separates them from all the other dry cleaners. staff was also nice. can't say anything about tailoring, since I didn't use that service. read more

Very helpful and able to have a fast turn around on dry cleaned items. Clothes came back clean and it good condition.
