I had an excellent experience. Everything thing that was promised and more. At the time that they arrived for pickup, I was walking my dog and had left my phone. They attempted to contact me, waited and CAME BACK! So cool! The laundry was clean and arrived when promised. read more

This is the only way I do laundry anymore. When I got my first load back I was so delighted with how they were folded (they even matched my socks. I don't even match my socks!) My third load had bedding in it, and those were returned in their own bag that I was able to just toss in my closet. So convenient! I had a drop off scheduled on a day we ended up getting hit by a nor'easter. My delivery had to be rescheduled. And I was happy to know that they don't make their employees work in inclement conditions. I had a pick up scheduled that ended up not getting picked up. My email was responded to in less than five minutes! Never have I had that quick of a response from any other company. And my laundry was still picked up that day, albeit later than planned, and didn't affect my return delivery. Totally worth the cost to me. I get to sleep in instead of schlepping to the laundromat, and I'm always taken care of. Couldn't be happier read more

This company has saved my life and allowed me to be more present for family stuff! I love how prompt they are in assisting you with any nuances for your orders. You can schedule a pick up tomorrow and have it back the day after that! My clothes are washed well and according to my instructions. The drivers are very helpful and friendly when they pick up the bags. I recommend this company wholeheartedly! read more

I moved to Boston earlier this year, and my new place has small coin operated appliances in the basement for laundry, shared with people in three other apartments. Rather than lug my stuff up and down stairs, and babysit the loads for hours, I decided to check out the local options for wash/dry/fold service. During my search, I found Life Without Laundry. They have been awesome. I usually set it up for a Saturday pickup and Sunday drop-off. I can go out and about, and not have to worry about forgetting about my laundry until it's too late, and running out of clean clothes. I also don't have to go down the narrow stairs from the second floor to the basement. I just put the full bag outside my apartment door, and the next day they drop off my clothes, all ready to be put away. One less thing to keep track of, and well worth the cost (about $2/lb with a 15lb minimum as of the date of this review) to have the extra freedom. read more

I sent in clothes to be dry cleaned and laundered. My dry cleaning went through the laundry, which in itself was bad enough, but I didn't get the sense that they cared. The initial response was insinuating it was something I did, but given that this was my first time using a delivery service I was very very clear. I diligently filled in forms, put dry cleaning and laundry in separate different colored bags, marked that in my notes, confirmed with the delivery driver. Even after that mistake, I then had to wait a week to wait for the "final dry cleaning" Delivery that didn't exist (because all my clothes had been laundered). My silk jacked was damaged and I had put in my husbands wedding suit jacket too. The two stars is because the laundry seemed ok and was on time. I would not recommend for dry cleaning services if the items are precious to you. read more

After spending my entire adult life with laundry in-unit and then moving to an apartment that didn't have it, I really really wanted to love this business! I even waited until I had sent in 3 orders before writing this review, just to see if things became better! The pros: Alex is super responsive and helpful, the drivers are always pleasant and helpful, and laundry brought right to my door? It sounded like a dream come true! Now either I've been unlucky, or there are a few cons too. My first order started well. Alex talked me through the order (with my Yelp discount), and the driver came right at the start of my pickup window. My clothes arrived neatly packaged the next day, but wait... they were beyond wrinkled. Not like a few wrinkles that would loosen up in time, but SOLID, SET wrinkles. It was really surprising to me, because these are clothes that I never need to iron when I do laundry myself. I just figured, ok, they have lots of orders at once and maybe the clothes were left in the dryer awhile before being folded, which is why the wrinkles are so deep. My second visit, I chose a pickup window of 8-10pm, with drop-off at 10-12pm because I had to travel the next day, and hoped for the secondary benefit that um, my clothes would be taken out of the dryer sooner! I checked with Alex to make sure this was alright, got the a-ok, and placed the order. Pick-up went well, but drop-off... the driver didn't show up until 2:30pm. I asked Alex what was going on and was told the driver was new and forgot my bag at the base. Sigh, ok. First days are rough, I let it go. Clothes are, again, heavily wrinkled. My third visit, I extended the window a little bit: 8-10pm pickup, 12-2pm drop off. I specifically leave instructions about air drying the bras I've placed in delicates bags, and not folding the socks. (No offense to the people folding, the rolled socks just don't fit well in my dresser.) But when my clothes are returned... 2 of my bras are misshapen (not sure if they were just crammed back into the delicates bag or if they were accidentally put in the dryer), all my socks are rolled up into balls, andddd instead my underwear isn't folded. Not to mention, once again, THE WRINKLES. I spent 2 hours last night folding underwear and ironing every single item of clothing. 20+ pounds of clothing. I'm really disappointed, because the staff and concept of LwL are great. If they weren't, I would have given only 2-stars. Wish I had experiences like the other reviewers! read more

I'm from the south where everybody does their own laundry so it's quite a culture shock having someone else do it for me. I wasn't worried about sending my clothes off because I don't really care, but if you are worried - don't be! This couldn't be any easier and my clothes couldn't smell fresher or cleaner. Also they fold everything so perfectly it's amazing. They also got stains out of clothes that I had just written off as permanent. If nothing else impresses you then be impressed by the fact that their prices are SO reasonable. Thank you, Alex! read more

Great service, easy, quick, and reliable. Kind customer service. Reasonable prices. I've been using them monthly for a few years. read more

Always on time, and usually early when they drop it off the next day. My laundry is always cleaned and folded and my socks are even folded together in pairs! To top it off, the delivery driver remembered I had dogs and brought them dog treats! So considerate and over the top service. read more

Alex and LWL have been my go to for years! Sometimes it's because I get behind keeping up with life or work is more time consuming... sometimes it's because I need a break or just one less thing to do. Regardless the reason, LWL is there within 24 hours and everything comes back the next day clean, organized and FOLDED! It's amazing how crossing laundry off my To Do List makes it seem so much more manageable! Always great customer service and a check-in the day after delivery to make sure everything is as expected! They're picking up tomorrow... do yourself a favor and have them swing by for yours too. read more

Fantastic service all around! Sept communication, super clean, and fresh laundry! Thx!

I'll admit it. I was skeptical giving my dirties to a stranger. But Life without Laundry is incredibly professional, responsive, and easy to use. I scheduled my pickup and next day dropoff online, I received a text with a 15 min ETA of the pickup, handed him my dirty clothes in a trashbag, and then got them the next day perfectly folded and fresh with a reusable bag for future dropoffs. It was so easy. Also, big shoutout to the owner Alex who is proactive and truly cares about LwL customer's experience. LwL makes me wonder if I'll ever do laundry myself again... and I'm very content with that idea. read more

Like some of the other reviewers for LwL, I never thought I would ever utilize laundry service, but after moving to Back Bay, I couldn't imagine dragging a suitcase of luggage to a coin laundromat a mile away from my apartment. I saw the great reviews for LwL and decided to give them a try. It is a little pricey (it is for me at least, since I'm a recent college grad who had the privilege of free laundry in the dorms). One load comes out to about $33 for a minimum 15 lb load of laundry (for your first time, you get $5 off). However, given the difficulty of doing laundry in Back Bay, I think the price is justified by the easy online scheduling, pick up/washing/drying/folding, AND delivery to your door. My clothes came back nice, soft, smelling better than ever, and beautifully folded. He also included a free laundry bag for me (having just moved, I didn't have a hamper, so I'd stuffed 10 pounds of laundry in a large shopping bag). Alex, the owner, was very helpful, and I appreciated that he was always a call or text away. I also liked that he is open and receptive to feedback, whether it is positive or negative. What I really like about their business model is their emphasis on clear communication. Management and staff are always accessible every step of the way. They even send you a text or call when the driver is on his/her way. I had a very good first experience with LwL and plan on signing up for a monthly plan with them. Thank you to LwL and Alex for making my life so much easier! read more

Very impressed with their customer service. There was a problem with an order of mine - i was extremely angry and upset. The problem was resolved with thoughtfulness and transparency. I am reassured future mistakes won't happen and will continue to be a happy customer. read more

A+ Service I've tried many services around Boston and LWL is hands down the best! -LWL is literally the only w/d/f service that hasn't ignored my request for low/no heat dry and put my clothes in on full heat and ruined them. :) -I completely spaced on including my own detergent with my laundry before it was picked up. So, I was a bit nervous that my sensitive skin + their detergent would land me with a full body rash. Welp, needless to say, I slept in my freshly washed sheets and I was completely fine. -Pickup and delivery was seamless. The driver brought my clothes allllllll the way up to my 5th floor walk up without me asking. I find this absolutely incredible, astonishing really. Still can't wrap my head around it. (My only *small* complaint is that my clothes weren't completely sorted (ie all jeans folded and stacked together). Not a big deal at all, or a reason to take off a star, just caused me to use up an extra spoon or two.) read more

Life Without Laundry has become my saving grace! I use them weekly for my family's laundry. They pick-up one day and return the next. It's incredible. I've been using them for about 3 months. They've always picked up and delivered in the planned timeframe. I've also started sending my husband's dry cleaning to them. It comes back perfect too. I wish I had started using their services sooner! read more

they are the best! seriously one time i gave them pretty much everything that was in my house that could feasibly be laundered. they didn't shrink or lose anything. their delivery and pick up people are like ninjas , i have never actually physically seen one in fact, but they are always punctual.. or at least , i put laundry out, it disappears at the appointed time and reappears when they said it would. no questions asked. why ruin a good thing? i don't care if they're teleporting, in fact, i encourage it . just more proof of the inevitable truth: the rest of us really need to think about stepping up our earth game read more

I'm a believer- this is magical! After my first experience I wondered why all the 5 star reviews- I had a few issues with the clothes coming back damp and wrinkled. The owner was super communicative in figuring out how to fix the issues- which I really appreciate. My second order just came back and was followed up with a phone call with the owner to make sure everything was in tip top shape. I'm confident he really cares about his customers and quality of service that his business provides them. If you're nervous about trying out a laundry service (like I was)- don't worry you're in good hands! read more

Recently I decided to try Life Without Laundry. The service works very well, and the two times I have used it, the clothes have come back in great condition. The staff that pick up and deliver clothes have a great attitude. You get text-messages before their arrivals, with a handy map-view of where they are. I have not used the service enough to rate it 5 stars yet, but that is only due to lack of data. If they keep doing what they are doing they might get a bump-up to five stars. Vamoose laundry, enjoy Life Without Laundry! read more

**updated after speaking with Alex: Alex reached out so promptly and asked if he can do anything to fix the issue. LWL's customer service is def nothing I've ever seen before. It's surprising that you can talk to a real human right away without waiting and without any autogenerated text/voice. _________________________________________ I can't say anything about their wash&fold service because I haven't used it. I'm sure their wash&fold is fantastic based on other reviews. My experience is only limited to dry cleaning. Also please take my review with a grain of salt b/c I had a particular expectation. To be fair, I mistakenly thought that LWL has its own dry cleaning facility, just because a similar service I used back at home (different country) does, and this was the main reason why I used LWL. It was thus surprising to see the attached receipt from another local dry cleaning business on my clothes. I guess this means that they contract with several local places to do dry cleaning. Not that this is a problem, but it just was unexpected for me. I was also a little disappointed to see that this local store that LWL hired didn't have a good rating (2.5 in yelp). I probably wouldn't have gone to this local dry cleaning place myself with such low ratings and bad reviews. LWL offers convenient service and its customer service is superb. But I'd personally just call the local dry cleaning places to pick up my stuff (or walk few blocks) if they're doing the job anyways. read more

I'm from California and my son goes to college in Boston. He had a medical emergency and ended up in ICU at Boston Mass General. I had to fly from CA to Boston to help him. Because it was an emergency he had no clean clothes when he got out of the hospital. Life Without Laundry worked me into their schedule earlier than the App would allow and were prompt and reliable. I would have had to leave my son for a day to do laundry somewhere and this service was so easy and helpful. The clothes are clean and smell fresh. I highly recommend this company and thank them for helping to ease my mommy heart! read more

My first time using Life without laundry my whites were dingy, my towels which I have had for years with very little fading turned white and I got my shirts two days later than promised with not even a heads up. Also, read the terms of service. They will be liable for very little. I've not seen another online laundry feel the need to that. read more

So awesome to have a laundry service that is so reliable and helpful! My clothes always come back cleaned and neatly folded. I also love how communicative that Alex and the team is when they're on the way, so you know when exactly your clothes are picked up and dropped off. Very prompt with great service!! Clothes come back just as requested..highly recommended!!

We were pretty disappointed in the wash/dry quality of our first order from Life Without Laundry. We had a large order of clothes that all came back feeling starchy - even our softest t-shirts feel stiff. Several items shrank significantly (even things we had washed/dried previously). I sent in a pair of my favorite smartwool running socks and only one made it back in my bag (and those are expensive socks!). All the customer-facing for this business seems great - driver was nice, service was responsive, turn-around is quick - but we were let down by how the laundry itself turned out. We've seen all the great reviews so perhaps our experience was a fluke, but disappointing nonetheless. read more

Excellent service. I've lived in Boston for years and tried a few laundry services, Life Without Laundry is by far the best. The pick up/drop off is very convenient and my clothes are in excellent condition. Definitely worth the $$, I will continue to use!! read more

Do not use this service at all. I have yet to receive my laundry in 4 days from this company. They supposed to keep your clothes for one day not 4 days. I don't care how much clothes you send in, if the company is unable to provide service then shouldn't take the clothes. You paid for a service to done and this is unacceptable. read more

My laundry was not delivered. No notice or update was given that it would not be delivered or that there would be a delay. When I reached out to Alex, I was told they could deliver it 2 days later than selected return date/time. It was then dispatched at a time I was not home despite my asking multiple times not to be sent. Had all my work uniforms in it. I felt like I had to basically beg/insist to have my belongings returned to me. Finally returned to me 24 hours later, still charged full price. Would not recommend. read more

First time using this service. Was awesome. Def using them again. Reasonable price, fast pick up and delivery. Clothes came out great!

I reeeeeeealy wanted to like LWL. I never seem to have time to get to the cleaners, so my dry cleaning has a tendency to pile up and then cost me a mint when I finally get around to getting it all done. I also live in Northern Dorchester, which is still close to the city, but a virtual delivery dead zone. Obviously I was psyched that they were willing to pick up/drop off my dry cleaning. The prices also seemed really reasonable, even with the delivery service worked into the cost. Sadly, if something seems to good to be true, it probably is. One of the reasons I wanted delivery was because I always have to be in 20 places at once. This is not supposed to include in my apartment, waiting for the delivery guy because he's a half-hour late for the two-hour window I already gave him. This happened twice, mind you, on both pick-up and drop-off. So now I have my clothes back. This morning, I pulled my fav pair of pants out of the plastic, threw them on, look in the mirror, and see noticeable mark, about the size of a dollar bill, around my left pocket. The kind of mark that is made from using a too-high heated iron on the wrong side of the garment. The kind of mark that I can live with, but in never really going to go away. The kind of mark you try to avoid by sending your clothes to be CLEANED BY PROFESSIONALS. I freely admit I suck at laundry. If I can't put it in on the cold wash setting with a cap-full of detergent, I'm probably going to ruin it. But this is why I pay other people to do it. I appreciate a small, upstart business as much as the next person, but my entire experience was unprofessional.I think the business has potential, but until it has a few more years under its belt, I'm sucking it up and hauling my a$$ to the walk-in cleaners. read more

You know what's awesome about Friday night? Not doing laundry. You know what's awesome about Saturday night? Not doing laundry. You know what's awesome about Sunday? Having your laundry delivered to you all nice and clean so you can GO OUT AGAIN and then put it away, on like, Tuesday. Life Without Laundry does not in fact meant that you will be perpetually naked. On the contrary, it means that you will perpetually have clean socks and undies as long as you can be bothered to: 1. care about clean laundry 2. set up an account online 3. pull the trigger on a laundry order 4. throw your filthy linens into a laundry bag and leave it by your front door 5. act like a grown up and use your money for something reasonable, like laundry service So, if you are like me and you do not have a laundry set-up at home and really like to NOT smell like a week old bender at work....Give these guys a shot at making you a happier and less disgusting human being. read more

While I can appreciate a local, independent start-up and understand the bumps along the road, this dude is ridiculous. Not only did they have bad service, but their spokesperson/owner just asked me to take down my review or change it! It is our personal freedom to write these reviews and I shouldn't be bothered by the companies to re-write a more favorable review! Also, I reiterate that it is ILLEGAL to force your clients to "eat" their credit card charges. He claimed that "Since we have a low margin service we would be hard pressed to eat that merchant fee per order. :-( So we simply ask our awesome customers to help us out with the charges (ex 3.8% for amex)" Either don't accept credit cards, or pay for the fees yourself, like you are supposed to! You're not asking customers to help you out - you're forcing it, and if someone ever contacted the credit card companies they'd revoke your contract. BOOO LIFE W/O LAUNDRY! read more

Well, I have to agree with Jay, they really dropped the ball after they clearly let people overbook after the GroupOn went out. There was an issue with the pickup date, I had scheduled a pickup for a time that I had an appointment. It was a major hassle to get them to switch the pickup time, as they literally could NOT do it using their online interface...weird and major design flaw. Anyway, they picked up my laundry (10 minutes after the quoted hour time slot) and took it away. I sat at home the next night for the 9PM-10PM pickup. Fast forward to 11PM and I finally get a phone call after writing a few emails. They said there was no way they could have gotten me my laundry that night. I suggested that in the future perhaps they email or call customers if they KNOW that they're not dropping off. He agreed that would have been a good idea. They finally dropped it off the next morning, in two clear bags...not in the free hamper they promised ("oh yeah, those are on backorder"). Half of the clothes were folded inside-out and smelled very odd...not bad...just odd. At least I got them back. Definitely would not return unless they do some serious re-thinking on the way that they book and handle orders. Bad customer service can really ruin things... read more
