We tried this with the GroupOns, but were very dissapointed - mostly because the driver showed up to our house obviously stoned out of his mind. We were very hesitant even to hand over our dirty laundry! When our laundry came back, we had to remind the driver to give us back our original laundry bags - he was going to drive off with them! We still have two Groupons, so I bet we'll use the service at least twice more... but only when we're really in a pinch and can't do our own laundry over the weekend. I think the pound for pound services at laundromats are probably a far better deal... and they don't include stoned drivers. read more

One more star, but that's it. Since my last review, I have had other people's laundry delivered to me and have had my detergent lost. Not impressive. Also - They have contacted me at least 4 times via phone and text asking me to update my review. I don't love that. I've finally resigned to only sending things out that can be washed/dried normally without special instruction like low heat or hang dry. Anything else is too complicated. Again, they are AWESOME at folding. I will continue to use them for my basic laundry needs for that reason, and I also like the online scheduling tool, but still not a five-star operation. read more

Life without laundry is another great find on yelp. It's a great service and the owner Alex is great and very easy to deal with. The service does take longer than it used to but I think that's a consequence of a growing/more popular business. Before I used to be able to have laundry back in about two days but that doesn't seem to be the case anymore (which is why I'm knocking one star off). That said, they still do a great job and it's nice to have your laundry come back clean and folded. Alex was great about updating me as an item went into the wrong truck. He even helped me track down a missing item (it never left my apartment building) and there's something to be said for great customer service. I've also sent out larger items for dry cleaning such as comforters and they've always done an excellent job. Someday, I'd love to learn how they fold stuff and stack them perfectly in plastic bags (they do an amazing job with fitted sheets) but until then I'm perfectly content sending my laundry/dry cleaning out to them whenever I have too much to do. The scheduling process is really easy on the website and the unattended pick up/drop off works perfectly if you have scheduling conflicts. read more

I just spent ten minutes putting away my clean laundry. That's it. Ten minutes. No fifteen minutes of sorting everything into color piles. No bundling two loads into a bag and lugging them down the treacherous basement stairwell. No hanging out in the creepy basement, feeling like I'm getting dirty just standing there, while trying to clean my laundry in an ancient washer and dryer that I had to wrestle away from the girl who always leaved her stuff in there for two hours. No lugging everything back upstairs when it's dry only to despair over how wrinkled a shirt can get during a three minute trek up the stairs. At first I scoffed. I thought it was too self-indulgent to have my laundry cleaned and delivered, a poor use of money. But then I tried it, in the hopes of getting all my laundry clean at once so it would make future cleaning easier. And all my clothes...are cleaner than I could ever get them! Spots that I couldn't get out no matter HOW many ways I tried are now gone, and I didn't even use the stain removal service. The inevitable discoloration of my favorite lacy white bra has mysteriously disappeared, giving me my pretty white undergarment back looking as good as it did when I bought it. My clothes are all hanging out in my closet now, wrinkle-free and shiny and new, and I didn't sacrifice an entire evening of my life to make it happen! Which is nice, considering I work long days and don't really love having my weekends given over to laundry. When my laundry arrived, I adjusted my monthly budget to make room for LWL's monthly service from now on. I just can't understand spending all of that time and all those quarters for poorly cleaned laundry when I could go with LWL and get laundry that actually looks and smells clean! I'll also never laugh at people who get their laundry cleaned again, or call them self-indulgent. The money is well worth a little less stress, in my opinion. read more

I can't believe I haven't gotten around to reviewing this awesome service yet. I grew up in a small town where three different towns went to my high school and our graduating class still had less than 150 people. Color me surprised when my friend told me that people would come to my apartment, pick up my dirty clothes, wash, dry, and immaculately fold them and bring them back. What?!? Sign me up! I first tried them out in 2012 when I had a lot of life stuff going on and got way behind on laundry. I've also used them at season change over so that everything is lovely and ready to go. They fold everything perfectly, down to the tiny cat t-shirts I accidentally threw in once. It was actually friggin adorable. I will admit that it was a bit awkward turning my undies over to a stranger the first time but I quickly got over it once I realized how glorious it was to not have to worry about laundry. Whatever they use for laundry detergent and fabric softener smells amazing too. If you prefer your own detergent and softener due to allergies or just personal preference you can send that along as well. Even clothes that have been in my drawer for a couple months still smell fresh and crisp. The owner, Alex, also told me that one client sent all of his clothes when he was moving so it was one last thing to pack so they definitely can handle a high throughout too. Alex is always prompt to answer emails or return calls if you have any questions and will help guide you if you need to include any special instructions about your order. All and all a pretty magical and quality service run by a down to earth and kind guy. read more

I learned about Life Without Laundry when they ran their Groupon promotion. I thought, "Hey! I hate laundry. This is totally worth the money in exchange for my free time." That was a good thought. My laundry just got delivered to me, one day after sending it to them, all fresh and folded. I paid $13 for 20 lbs of laundry plus $.55 per extra pound. Every time I do laundry, I spend at least $10 to schlep my bag a block to the laundromat, get barely dried clothes out of the dryer, and grudgingly fold my own damn laundry. The extra couple of dollars are totally worth using this service. I know that some laundromats offer laundry by the pound, but I've found this to be a much better value. Bonus: The owner seems to be a real stand-up guy. He was very helpful and friendly. read more

I definitely got behind in my laundry thanks to this damn COVID-19 and the fact that I have the use of only one hand. I seem to be okay with some of my laundries, but I managed to get way behind with a whole bunch of it. I luckily found Life Without Laundry. They are amazing! I had my laundry picked up at the time when I was told to expect the pickup and when the gentleman in the car saw me having trouble getting my bag out the door he got out of the car and came for my bag for me. Alex is easy to talk to on the phone. My laundry came back as promised Man, I wish I knew how to fold t-shirts as great as they do. My white t-shirts are finally white years after buying them. This place is definitely a place I will return to when I find myself in a bind again. I hate being that lazy, but for not all that much money, I got some great service! Thanks guys! read more

I used to walk to the laundry place down the street and pay $4 to do about 10lbs of laundry myself. After making the switch to Life Without Laundry I don't know how I ever lived without it. For merely $11/20lbs I am able to get my laundry picked up, washed, folded, expertly handled (never shrunk, never bled, never anything besides clean), and delivered back to me. The only thing better than the fact that your laundry is done quickly and cheap is the customer service provided by the owners. On my very first order I made a mistake in purchasing with two separate orders. I was promptly called, informed, and despite me making the mistake it was solved in an efficient manner. I could not recommend this service more! read more

My business trip was unexpectedly extended and I was scrambling to figure out how I was going to pull this off with no clean clothes. Enter Life Without Laundry! I used the web service and realized that their pickup and drop off times didn't fit my needs, so I called Alex, left a message and he promptly returned my call. I explained my situation and Alex informed me that he could accommodate my request! I know that my clothes will be returned in the usual professional manner I remember from the first time I used them. Life Without Laundry ROCKS! read more

OH MY GOD THEY ARE AMAZING. Seriously; you book a time online (and they do 8-10pm, which is why I chose them), they pick up your stuff, they wash your stuff, and they deliver your stuff in one day. I pack the bag so full that it would be about 10 regular loads at my building's washer and dryer. The delivery folks always just hoist it over their shoulder and away it goes! Also, the owner is super amazing; we had to discuss a minor error in one of my orders, and he called me himself so we could sort it out. It's sort of like the Peapod of laundry! It makes my life a whole lot easier. The only other possible con I can think of is that the drivers can be a tad rushed and unprofessional once in a while, but I'm sure they have to deal with all kinds of people and it must be stressful. A few tips: They only have one kind of detergent, so if you want something specific (like unscented), just enclose it in the order. They always follow the instructions in your order, but just make sure you write them in the delivery instructions - there is NO separate section for washing instructions, but they always read that part. (Like not drying certain items, washing a separate enclosed bag separately, etc.) You can request a text when the person is approaching your home, but they aren't always able to do it. read more

Life Without Laundry is a fantastic company. My parents owned a dry cleaner for 35+ years in NY and I worked in it during my middle school/high school years on the weekends - so I know what to look for in a dry cleaning store. I tried out 4 different dry cleaning/laundry delivery services when I first arrived in Boston about a year ago, but Life Without Laundry really stood out. Yes, they do exceptionally high-quality work, but so did one other store. What makes this place exceptional though is the owner, Alex. If there is any mistake, he will fix it rapidly and do so with a positive attitude. This really makes a huge difference in this industry, and because of the "Alex factor" I have told many of my friends throughout the city about LWL. If you like high-qualitycleaning and great customer service, you should try it out too! read more

I moved in March 2015 to a building without a washer/dryer and no where close to a laundrymat. WTF. I remembered seeing a post for Life Without Laundry a long time ago - and searched it up. I checked out other reviews here on Yelp, and ended up getting the deal to try it out. POSITIVES: 1. Alex was great. He was very quick to reply to my question about the deal by email. 2. Both pick up and delivery drivers were courteous and friendly. They were right in the middle of the time frame I chose. 3. I love how everything is so simple to figure out online. They give you the option of whether you want to be home or leave your bag out (not possible for me) - and you can choose a two-hour time frame. 4. You are given a new laundry bag with an ID tag for the next time. 5. Laundry was fine - clean, folded, smelled great. NEGATIVES: 1. I'm poor 2. I'm poor 3. I'm poor. ***That being said - I'm poor and I will still use this service. Previously when I lived closer to Sud City - I used to drop off my laundry and pick up. This is only about $7 more than that - and that includes the pickup/delivery. It's worth it. read more

Life without laundry makes my life easier. I have only ever use LWOL for dry cleaning as I'm pretty tall, and I have crazy long go-go-gadget arms and legs, so I don't dry most of my laundry for fear of shrinkage. Each time I have used them for dry cleaning I have been very happy with the results. I wear a suit to work almost every day, and I'm on a tight budget. To add to the tight budget, I'm a kind of a sweaty girl. So whenever I send my suits in to be cleaned, they are pretty funky. Most dry cleaners have given me back suits that kind of smell at least once. Never with LWOL. Everything comes back brilliantly cleaned, pleats properly pressed, and smelling like clean dry cleaning. Not to mention there are no extra charges for things that require "additional time" (i.e. pleats, lining, etc.). I love that the pricing is up-front, and never changes unexpectedly. That being said, you must pick the right descriptions for the right items on the website. The best part is that the pricing is reasonable for Boston, and you can easily budget via the website. Winning! My only complaints? 1. Pick up and drop off times are two hour windows. It would be great if the day-of I got a shorter one hour window. Two hours at home is a long time when you work long hours. 2. The last time I used them, they couldn't get everything done on time. However they did call me to reschedule drop off, but couldn't send me the items that were already done. This meant I had to wear a smelly suit to work, when I wasn't planning on it. Womp womp. At least they were nice about it. Overall? I give 4.5 stars because of the two hour wait times, and the missed drop off. I'm pretty forgiving and round up, so they get 5 stars. Highly recommended. read more

I love Life Without Laundry. Period. They've always been on time. My laundry comes back folded and organized in such a cute and logical way that it makes me giggle. Just as importantly, they're super nice. read more

I'm not sure what more I can add considering there's already so many good reviews here. First thing that really stuck out for me is how user friendly their service is. Their website is very clear about the services and easy to use. They walk you through step-by-step on selecting a service that works for you, scheduling a pick-up and drop-off, and paying. I sent in 6 bags full of laundry. Jeans, button down shirts, t-shirts, under garments, sheets, towels - everything all mixed together. Unfortunately, a few shirts had even been peed on by my cat. It all came back the next day, nicely folded, sorted, and smelling nice. I'm not sure how the price compares to other laundry services, but it was completely worth it. I recommend it and would do it again. read more

I am obsessed with Life Without Laundry. Why did i wait so long to try this service? I used to think that I loved doing laundry but holy smokes, nothing compares to having an awesome person come pick up my dirty clothes and return them clean, folded and ready to be put away. Is this a splurge? you bet. Is it worth it? every single penny. LWL customer service is incredible....!!! life changing, dont even think twice...! you'll be obsessed too!!! read more

This is literally the best service ever invented! The only thing I am upset about is the fact I didn't find it when my son was born 4 years ago. The customer service so far is exceptional. My husband and I wanted to run to the hardware store during our "drop off" time frame. We called to see if we had time and they let us know that our laundry would be dropped off on the later side of our scheduled time. When our laundry arrived, it was folded beautifully and our socks, including our son's tiny socks, were all matched up. At this moment I told my husband, "we are never doing laundry again". Prior to writing this review, I scheduled another pick-up. read more

Excellent service. You tell them where to pick up and drop off your laundry, can request specific washing or drying conditions, fast service, well washed and folded, good pricing! Can't beat! read more

Oh Life Without Laundry, how lucky I am to have found you. I had what you might call a ton of laundry. This was not your average haul...I had not realized the sheer volume of laundry that had built up after 4 years of no laundry in the building and just getting one load every once in awhile done. The pick up and drop off folks were not judgy (they could have been) and were very professional and efficient and my laundry came back beautifully folded and in great order. The convenience of this service more than makes up for the price (only a few cents more than an average drop off service--and you have to go to those drop off/pick ups yourself). I highly recommend Life Without Laundry and will be back again! read more

I've tried to use another service in the city and they didn't pick up twice. Forget that. I have been using LWL for almost 3 years now, they have never missed a pick up or drop off. If they are going to be late with drop off, you always get a call and an email. Alex is amazingly attentive, returns emails in minutes. Can't beat the turn around time. read more

The LWL team has delivered consistently good service for several months. Prices are fair for wash/dry/fold (I'm doing about 20-25 lbs/week) and it is easy to schedule pick-up and drop-off online. The owners are responsive and attentive to their customers. My wife and I aren't spending our time doing laundry all weekend anymore! read more

They have done a great job delivering my dry cleaning. They were easy to set up with, and very responsive. That means a lot to me, as I don't have time to chase vendors down. read more

Finally, a pick-up/drop-off laundry service that actually stands (er..folds) & delivers! I have been impressed time after time with their meticulous attention to scheduling and perfect folding...hello color coordination?! (seriously, even my mom commented). Also Alex, the owner, has made it a point to keep his business very personable and often will personally respond to my wild emails, pleas for last minute pickup (help! I have no underwear!) and my crazy schedule (oh you're at my house to deliver? Can you hide it in my bushes? I'm grocery shopping!). These guys are top gun when it comes to doing my least favorite chore of all time! Now if only they would come and do my dishes.... read more

I have been a Life Without Laundry customer for 3+ years doing wash and fold roughly 1x/week. I was so surprised that they were able to do next day delivery that I think I initially overlooked some of the sloppiness (delivery well outside of the window promised on most occasions, missing clothes on a handful of occasions, etc.). In the last six months, however, they have lost my clothes three times (one time was for 4+ days). I got a bag of wet clothes back in a bag. Yes, wet clothes that I then had to dry and fold (yet I was paying for wash AND FOLD). And another time the bag of clothes reeked of cigarette smoke so I had to wash everything all over again (and was still charged for this). And I get that COVID has severely impacted every industry and I'm sure this one is no different. So, once again, I was trying to be extra understanding, But when I texted with Alex about these recent events, he was completely nonchalant about it like it wasn't a big deal that he could not locate my clothes for 4 days and he kept giving excuses (e.g. weather, they were extra busy, etc.) or throwing his team under the bus (e.g. new people, bad drivers, new laundromats, etc.). I was understanding for 3+ years. But then it just became too much. If you're in this type of business, logistics are key and it felt like they didn't have a good handle on the logistics. Or quality control, for that matter. I have since switched to Rinse which is way more reliable, cheaper, and more on top of the logistics. read more

I do not have a washer and dryer in my building so finding a great laundry and dry cleaning service was a necessity. I used Washio for over a year and had constant issues with them from damaged items, late delivery, to being totally over priced. I switched to Life Without Laundry and it has been total smooth sailing. They have 1 day turn around on my laundry which is amazing (Washio was up to 3 days.)!! The price is about half of what I was paying at Washio and they are ALWAYS on time, not to mention the owner, Alex, is super responsive and texts me back with any questions I have had. I highly recommend Life Without Laundry for all your laundry and dry cleaning needs!!! (I have not yet used them for alterations, so can't speak to that.) read more

This is an expensive service, but they do a great job! We needed to send our laundry out while our building's machines were replaced, and this service made that process very easy. The drivers are professional and polite, and our clothes always returned clean and well folded. We would recommend to anyone needing a delivery laundry service! read more

My gf and I were looking for a laundry service to wash EVERYTHING we owned. We were moving out of a nasty place with bug infestations. The landlord had paid for someone to spray the place, which took care of the problem, but left our clothes reeking of the chemicals used. We had tried washing a few things to see if we could get the smell out but it left our clothes still smelling like the chemicals, so we started looking for professional services. Alex and Life Without Laundry come highly rated in the Boston area, as you can see from all the other reviews. The $5 coupon on Yelp works; I was skeptical given the "Yelp Rules" tagline, but my gf insisted it would work, and lo and behold, Alex responded with the discount confirmation email! We had 6+ large garbage bags full of clothes: not a problem. We were also moving and requested the delivery to go to our new place: not a problem. I had specific questions about service and pricing: not a problem; Alex, the owner, answers the phones and was happy to clarify everything. We got our clothes delivered and they were folded PERFECTLY. Seriously, it's not possible to fold clothes that neatly. The fitted bottom sheet to our bed was also folded PERFECTLY; that just blew my mind, I didn't think that was physically possible. Everything was compact and neat. Best of all, the chemical smell was gone. Alex knows exactly what he is doing. Well designed website, great social media engagement, and superior customer service all around. I will recommend Life Without Laundry to any that ask, and would certainly user them again. Thanks again, Alex. read more

This is a fabulous service! We send a bag of laundry weekly and it is always picked up and delivered as requested. All our clothes come back so well cared for-they even know how to fold a fitted sheet so it is flat! The times I have contacted Alex with a question he has responded within minutes! I am impressed and grateful for having such a well organized and responsive service to use and would recommend Life Without Laundry to anyone who needed this service. read more

Alex and the crew at LWL are amazing. In the past two years, they have saved my butt more times than I can count! They have been incredibly flexible about my pick-ups and drop-offs and have re-scheduled me every time I've left the house without putting my laundry out. And who can beat a 24-hour turnaround on clean, perfectly folded clothes?! I recommend them to everyone I can. If you want some extra free time and to save your sanity, I suggest you call Alex at Life Without Laundry! read more

I too heard about Life Without Laundry when I saw the Groupon a while back. We all have our reasons for using a laundry service- mine is that I have to lug my laundry down 3 flights of stairs and go outside to get to the back of the apartment building where there sits two P.O.S. laundry machines that cost $1.25 and truly suck. Anyway, I purchased the Groupon and tried to use it immediately, but wasn't sure where/how to redeem it on the website. Yes, the website was a little weird and hard to navigate, but I looked back at the comments on the Groupon page to hopefully get some help. I saw that the owner had been personally replying to each individual comment, telling clients why they didn't service certain zip codes, yada yada, but making tons of exceptions about where they would deliver *just because people were whining about it.* This dude was trying his very hardest to please everyone and run a legitimate, respectable business and make us all happy. It's one thing to trash a business that downright sucks and has no intentions of improving, but these people clearly care! My laundry also wasn't delivered on schedule, so I emailed the bossman and he let me know that it would be delivered shortly, or he himself would drive it out to me. As someone else mentioned, a phone call or email would have been nice, but now they know that and hopefully will consider that in the future. I got a phone call about 10 minutes before the delivery came, and everything was perfectly clean, folded, normal-smelling, and my personal favorite, nothing was shrunk. Huzzah! Anyway, I just really believe it's important to cut people some slack every now and then. Clearly this company cares enough to respond to our issues and if you have suggestions, I can only imagine they're dying to hear what you have to say. It's so obvious that these dudes are trying to make an honest living and really care about the integrity of the services they provide. So I highly suggest giving them a shot- I'm trying it a second time next week! read more

This is our second week using Life Without Laundry. So far the service has been fantastic! Alex has been very responsive via phone and e-mail and helpful with all questions/concerns my boyfriend and I had after using the service our first time. The two hour windows are at convenient times during the week and the drivers have been on time and professional thus far. We will definitely continue to use this service for our laundry as we do not have laundry in our building. Thanks! read more

Our building's laundry machines were getting ripped out unexpectedly the week we were going to do laundry so we rolled the dice and tried life without laundry. The customer service was top-notch, 1. because you can get ahold of them 24/7 via phone, email, text, whatever, but 2. and even more importantly, their customer service not only is an actual human but sounds like one. I hate when you just want to speak to a regular person who isn't reading a script and has to read off a minute and a half of BS before asking for your name. These guys are real people. The drivers were all friendly, and understanding, even when there was a mistake on my part about when drop off was. I wish every business in the service industry was as good as these guys. read more

Not very pleased. We had the service for 2 months and had 4 total loads serviced. Alex and the customer service were great. However.... - I live in a high rise building and my drivers would often call me and tel me to bring my clothes to them or pick them up from the front door rather than actually picking up or delivering. - Several of my clothes and my wife's clothes (none were new) came back shrunk at least half a size. My favorite golf polo with my university's logo (nearly $100) is unwearable because it is so much smaller. - The folding was often horribly wrinkled. - We paid for the premium service with stain removal. Didn't really see that happen. - Our driver came almost 2 hours late once. Alex did give us a $25 reimbursement, though. Called after hours, which was nice. I wanted to like this. Again, amazing customer service. But I just can't justify the expense. I would not recommend. read more

I have been using LWL since 2015, and I have always had an excellent experience. Any time I have a question, Alex, the owner HIMSELF, promptly responds to my text or email. They make it super easy! I placed my clothes in a bag and received a text when the driver was on the way. They picked it up and off they went! So I got this as a Groupon, so I didnt pay for it, but I love this! I figured that its about the same price $20 for OTHER PEOPLE TO PICK UP YOUR LAUNDRY AND DO IT! Then they bring it back and things are folded and socks are matched and MY LIFE JUST GOT GREAT again! I have never even thought about getting my laundry sent out-- because that was for people that can afford that extra expense, um, but I hate doing laundry so it always adds up to like 2 months of laundry, and I end up spending $20 in quarters anyway.... Might as well take advantage of something that will pick it up at your house, and drop it off the next day, when it snows! Lord KNOWS this Cali girl is loving this service. And the owner Alex, is super responsive to any questions or confusion that you might have. Overall-- Ima fan-- the services that are offered also run to Dry Cleaning, and basic alterations..... read more

Okay, just a quick update. These guys continue to amaze me - origami applied to the art of folding laundry :-) Latest drop off had a bath towel folded as a base to the delivery, with carefully organized t-shirts, underwear, towels, dress shirts, et al in stacks on top. I had this laundry delivery service last month when I was on crutches and in a boot (aka so necessary for my life). let's start with the basics, site is easy to navigate and staff was available via email right away to answer my questions re the yelp coupon (+1). the scheduling was pain free (+1). the times I scheduled were adhered to to a T (no Comcast style 3 hour window and showing up after, +2). not so basics: - my friend had slept over for my 30th bday and vomited on my comforter... fail. so it was an embarrassing load to pick up haha, bravo to whoever found that out - I like my fitted sheets folded very particularly, the owner let me know that next time I can add special instructions and the staff will try and meet those - the weight was well over w the comforter, so my total bill went up $25 (plus it was a ton of other stuff), but before charging me they sent an email letting me know, nice. all in all great experience :) read more

LwL has been an absolute dream while living in a washerless/dryerless apartment. I went to the laundromat one time and thought, nope, that's the last time I do that. So the first time I used LWL, it cost $13 for 15 lbs and everything was good (I waited to use my groupon until I expected that the groupon rush was over). But my roommate used it during that time and she eventually got all of her stuff back, but it took 3-5 days I think. But that was a problem due to the massive response they received. So, I sent in my laundry yesterday and it turns out I sent in 27 pounds...so... it'll be $17.40 + 14.04 ish? = $31.44 So, I'm thinking is that worth it? that's kind of a lot...and then in my laundry, I found a dark fitted sheet and a pair of purple underwear that is similar to some of mine...but not mine (i don't do sequins)... So if anyone is looking for those, let me know! (Or let them know!) I think it was worth it! They did save me a terrifying laundry experience involving carrying 27 lbs from my house to the bus stop, then to the laundry place, then spending 4-5/load to wash/dry at least 3 loads, fold it all, and bring it back on the bus. That would have taken at least 4 hours and probably at least one tearful episode on the bus. [Update: Spoke with Alex at LWL because I forgot to update my credit card info and he reassured me that my stuff should be all there, he also gave me a discount because of the mix-up...] I'll probably eventually update to 5 stars with a couple more good experiences... read more
