I dropped off my clothes Tuesday and went to pick them up Thursday after work. I dropped of what they said was 43 lbs of laundry and was charged $75 dollars with a few blankets in the mix. When I opened my laundry Friday morning, I was missing all of my whites, and clothes I had dropped off and they are now lost. They have lost $3-4k worth of clothing and never returned them. They are looking for my lost clothes, but I am very upset as they were my favorite pieces completely gone. I will never be coming back & will file a claim for the lost items. They seemed to have no idea where they went or why they are missing. I am not sure why so many of my clothes would go missing without care. I understand mistakes happen, but this is an extreme dis-service and interruption. I do not recommend coming here if you don't want to risk your items getting lost. The weirdest part is that ALL of my clothes I dropped off are stolen or lost. The pieces returned are blankets and towels of different colors too. How is it that ALL of my clothes I dropped off are now gone?? And cannot be found with a return trip of 2 hours? Absolutely will be taking legal action. read more

Great quality machines. Quick service when I requested it. Great prices and value l. There was so much selection I literally had to choose between four different types of detergent. This was in a good way. I had to choose from so many multiple things I even had to ask the lady which one is better. It was such a good selection, and so good stuff for all white ranges of laundry from small loads to big loads. Literally one of the worst laundromats ever. A huge rip off. Used the only 2 large machines they have (they're not that large) and the smallest one and paid $20. Haven't even dried anything yet. The people are incredibly rude. There's no sink, a bucket of water for everyone to put their hands in. Yes a bucket of water. I'm mortified. Came here just because I was in the area and in a rush. But was better off driving to where I usually go. Don't waste your money. read more

I used the fluff and fold service twice in this location. The first time they misplaced my bed sheets and I did not get them back. The second time my kitchen towels were missing. After double checking and tearing apart my apartment to make sure I didn't misplace the items, I called the laundromat. They completely denied losing anything and refused to give me any compensation for losing $50 sheets and a full set of hand towels. They were extremely rude and and blamed me for misplacing the items. I will not be going back to this laundromat and I am extremely disappointed they were not willing to accept responsibility for losing my items and they were angry and dismissive that I had asked for compensation. I have never written a negative review in my life, but this experience is was so upsetting and frustrating I felt inclined to warn others. read more

This place is just down the road from my apartment, and very convenient, but I will never come here again! I have done my own laundry there a few times now, using different machines every time, and my clothes are always still dirty. The last time I tried re-washing my clothes immediately after, and they still come out dirty. I also tried their 'wash and fold' service for my bedding and there was a huge spot on my sheet- I'm assuming from where they dumped the detergent on them. The customer service is terrible. The machines are dusty and unkept. I would never recommend anyone to do their laundry here. It's worth the haul to go anywhere else. read more

We drop our laundry off every Friday morning, and pick it up that night. They're quick, efficient, they get tough stains out, the folding is immaculate, and it's cheap. They use whichever fabric softener you want - handy if you're allergic, as we are. Bonus: They couple your socks. Heaven sent. read more

Previously known as 5 Star Laundry and now known as South End Laundry! Best wash and fold in Boston, hands down, rivaled all the services in NYC. They are a family run store with great customer service. $1/lb if you drop it off, and $1.25 if they pick up I believe (not sure), but they will pick up same day and drop off same day if they're not too busy. Just call and ask. I had torn my achilles during the winter of '15 (and they saved my life during my rehab). When I drop off, it's usually in the evening (before 8 PM as that's when they close) and pick it back up in the morning. They color coordinate all the clothes, your white undershirts, colored t-shirts, your collared shirts, and even match all your socks together!!! Come home and just put it away. 25 lbs of laundry washed and folded for $25. You won't find that anywhere else. I'm moving back to New York and feel bad to have to leave this place behind. read more

I began using this laundry service about six months ago. The owner comes on Sunday evenings and returns laundry and dry cleaning on Tuesday--days and times at my request. They are so accommodating; this poor guy has to sometimes wait forever due to doorbell issues, but is very sweet and ALWAYS comes, even in snow. The clothes are clean and very well folded. Easily the best laundry pickup + dropoff I have used! Their service is easy to schedule, on time and flexible - I've had a couple of times where I have been able to be home at the pick-up time, and they were gracious and agreed to come later. Price is extremely reasonable - think a moderate load of laundry + bed sheets under $30. Everything is nicely folded, and I haven't had an issue with lost items so far. Please fix your coin machine. First laundromat I've ever had that doesn't have a functional coin machine.

Let me preface this review by saying that I have lived in this neighborhood (2 blocks away from this location) for almost 2 years. Within the time that I have lived here I have NEVER done my own laundry, and that's because of South End Laundry. I come approximately 2-3 times a month and literally have all of my laundry done by their wash, dry, fold service. At $1.10 per pound compared to the prices of other laundry services that are offered within the South End, the price for the quality of service is unbeatable. Prior to using their services I had been doing my own laundry for almost 10 years, and I have never been able to have my laundry come out smelling as fresh and nice as they are able to get it here. Both women are extremely nice and friendly and they work their butts off 5, 6, 7 days a week for probably 11-12 hours a day. Sometimes I come in and we have great conversations with each other, sometimes I come in and pick up my laundry and we don't say very much to each other, they can be tired, I can be tired, who knows? At the end of the day I drop off my laundry in the evenings, and pick it up the next day after I come home from work. I've also dropped off laundry at 8:30 AM and picked it up at 6 PM, same day. All I need to do is put away my laundry and everything is already sorted for me (I have a lot of gym clothes that go through them as well as my professional shirts). I predominantly wear different patterns of white collared dress shirts for work, and made a point to switch out older shirts (that didn't fit me anymore) and start purchasing the "no iron" shirts, and guess what? When I get them back they're folded perfectly and the only "wrinkle" is from where the shirts are folded. Otherwise they are crisp and ready to go! I'm confused as some of the other reviews do not make sense and I think that people have their stories wrong; -The person who had a "stain" on their bedding; I drop off my bedding (fitted sheet, and mattress protector) every week. I've never had a stain come back on it. That may have been from some of your extracurricular activities. -The person who said the place is sketchy and the ladies are curt; the place isn't sketchy, it's a byproduct of the gentrified area that is known as the South End and how close it is to subsidized housing and its proximity to other areas of the city. They don't know you, you don't know them, you might be the nicest person in the world, but these ladies work their butts off and they could have been really tired at the time. You don't know their story. I'm sure if you went back multiple times you wouldn't experience the same results. -The person who said they had moldy pillows; I've brought pillows before, multiple times, they do not cost $8/pillow. It's $5. Also, if it's $8 per pillow and you brought 4 pillows, 4*8=32, and that wouldn't include the cost of washing your duvet. So I call BS on your review because you asked for a $24 refund when you would've paid a minimum of $32? Something other than the math doesn't add up here. The ONLY time that I had a bad experience was when I dropped off those super soft and cozy throw blanket things as part of my regular laundry without telling them, I was charged an extra fee for the additional work that they required (they don't dry the same as standard clothes). WHOOPS, of course I paid it without complaining because not only was it the right thing to do, but because that makes sense. It required extra resources for them to wash the throws and dry them, duh. Wash, Dry, and Fold here is the best service you can ask for - - super easy as you can request a separate wash for whites with bleach, for certain items to be left out of the dryer, etc. I've been going here for 2.5 years and I've never had an issue - -the owners are extremely friendly and do a great job - - I wish I could take this place with me when I move! read more

Horrible customer service. Very rude almost every time I have been in there. Machines ruined an entire load of my clothes, as well as a load of my roommates clothes because the dryers were not working properly. They literally burned, shrank, and melted almost every piece of clothing I put in there and I didn't even run a whole cycle. Did laundry there for almost an entire year until I got tired of the customer service. I was beginning to think it hurts them to be polite to PAYING customers. read more

Correction to one of the previous reviews: medium machine $4.50 and large machine $6 Horrible customer service. Paid unnecessarily for a large machine and could not wash all of my laundry. Still would have not written a bad review if the woman who worked there had not kept yelling at me in an incomprehensible English. I went to this laundry for the first time in a really rainy day. Inside there were a woman and her three kids screaming to each other in asian as if there was no tomorrow. I asked the woman which machine should I use given the amount of clothes I had. The word "medium" pierced the air like a missile and a finger pointed to the first row of machines in a true military fashion. Really, Sergeant Hartman's scenes from Full Metal Jacket pale in comparison to the sight of this woman indicating the machines. I asked if she could give me some coins. She just ordered her 10 year old daughter to give me the quarters without even looking at me and then went back to the screaming. I put my clothes in the machine I thought she indicated. Then I asked the woman whether I should put two coins in each groove or just one. I was just asking; I still had a pair of pants I needed to put in. She came and said she would put the quarters for me. No discussion. No time to say anything. She put in 24 quarters and started the machine. I asked how come I paid $6 for the machine. She said that was a large machine so it was $6. I asked if I could stop the machine so I could put the pair of pants. She said no. I went to wait in my car. When I went back, as soon as I entered the store the woman started to yell at me that they close at 8 PM in an unbelievably offensive tone. It took me a minute to understand what was she saying. I don't think ever anybody has talked to me that way. She must have thought I am an idiot or something. So I was left wondering (1) how come she did not tell me that the one I was about to use was not the medium machine (2) why would someone start the machine if all I was asking was how it operates (3) why didn't she tell me that they close at 8 (btw, no business hours anywhere at the store or online) (3) why would someone yell like an obsessed that they close at 8 when all they have to do is just say they close at 8 and that I have half an hour left to dry my clothes I live in Cambridge. People here are usually neither that crazy, nor that reckless as to antagonize customers for no apparent reason. Which is why I kept my guard low. Apparently South End is a different kind of place. So, yeah, I deserve to be screwed and yelled at for not knowing that. One star because the machines looked decent. But won't return. Obviously. read more

Took 4 pillows, duvet, duvet cover and 3 sheet sets to be cleaned. My cheap queen duvet from Ikea was $28 to clean, probably more than I bought it for. Each pillow was $8 to wash/dry. The pillows were still very wet and sealed in plastic bags when I picked them up so I didn't notice until I got home. I took them back the next morning and the woman said they would NOT be done for 2 days but I was leaving for a work trip the next day so she said she'd have them ready in the evening. I picked them up again when leaving for my week long trip and they were tightly sealed in plastic bags. Of course, when I returned 6 days later and opened the bags, the 4 pillows were still damp and had started to grow mold. Today I took them back for the 3rd time and the woman was completely rude and refused to just give me a refund for the services ($24). She said she does not give refunds and walked off. This is a sad business to be in the South End. Do not support it. I will now have to go and buy 4 new pillows and am out the $24 to have them washed. read more

Really good. Went for the first time today, lots of machines, some were broken or marked staff only but there were more than enough to get my stuff done. The largest machines are $6.00/load but it held two comforters and some other things. Dryers are $0.25/5 mins which is good because you can spread out your stuff and get it done quickly. They sell powdered detergent too, I'll be bringing my own but that's a nice convenience. Also have quarters available read more

I was looking for a nearby laundromat where I could wash my comforters and two pillows. Found this and thought I could give it a try. Never coming back. The ladies working there were very curt and in my opinion sketchy. I had put my things in two separate dryers and sat down at one of the chairs near the door to wait. Within two minutes, I see the two ladies and a little girl (I assume she's one of their kids) crowding around my two dryers and looking at them, then eyeing me. I didn't know what they were doing, but they probably stood there eyeing the dryers and then me for maybe five minutes. At one point one of them pressed the stop button on one of the dryers and looked up just when I turned to look at them from where I was sitting (didn't really have a good vantage point). She immediately went and turned the dryer back on...idk what she was doing. Honestly, this is the first time I've ever encountered something like this. Don't know if they were trying to cheat me of my money by stalling the drying time or steal something....I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone. read more
