I had a pocket fixed in a pea coat I love. I knew this was going to be a difficult job because the entire pocket would have to be replaced, and you had to do it without taking the lining off. She said it would be a week, which is fine since I knew this was going to be a hard fix. But when I picked up the jacket, the replaced pocket was wonderfully done. The material she chose was even better than the original pocket. I was extremely happy and impressed. I love this jacket and I was upset when the pocket ripped. Oh and the price? 30 bucks. Still not bad for something that took a few hours to fix. And still cheaper than a new pea coat. I've also used the dry cleaning service many, many times, along with having suits altered there. I've never had a problem and the prices are extremely reasonable. The ladies who work the counter are always so friendly. It really is a Chelsea gem. So if you're in Chelsea and need a dry cleaner or a tailor, do not hesitate and just go to Orlan's. You won't regret it.

It was a pretty simple hem, but the tailor gave me some great advice on exactly how long it should be in the front and back and the final product was the perfect length. When I dropped it off, he warned me that it's their busy season but ensured he could get it done in the three week deadline I provided. In the end, it only took a week which was a nice surprise! The cost was $70 which was fair in my experience around Boston. Heads up that parking near the shop is a bit tricky without a Cambridge parking permit, but there are a few metered spots nearby if you get lucky. It's totally worth it in the end though, so like I said, I would totally come back again the next time I need some alterations.

THEIR DRY CLEANING SHRANK MY CASHMERE SWEATERS!!!!! SO UNACCEPTABLE!!!!!…read more I brought two wool and cashmere sweaters here for dry cleaning and they came back having shrunk. For one of my sweaters, the sleeves shrank by 4 inches (measured by the owner herself). Both sweaters were super soft before I brought them there, and now the texture has become stiff. This is not supposed to happen since dry cleaning never leads to shrinkage. The owner would not compensate me for neither the dry cleaning fee nor the damage to my $300 sweaters. Instead she insists on trying to stretch them back but there has already been permanent damage done to the quality of the wool. I will update how the sweaters look after stretching, but for now they are ruined.
