When looking at this store from outside, it doesn't look like anything special. It looks straight up boring. My husband is the one who suggested we go in here the other day. I wouldn't have suggested it on my own, but figured I'd indulge him by taking a gander. He found a Blazers beanie he liked. Perfect Christmas present for his step-dad. Dude loves it when we buy him stuff related to his favorite sports teams. So, we were excited, as we needed presents for his family, and we're kind of drawing a blank past his nephew. Kids are easy to shop for. Lol. We went up to the counter, and we're proceeding to check out when the cashier (I don't know his name because his name tag was turned around backwards) told us this particular beanie may qualify for their buy one get one free sale. Sweet! He rang it up to make sure, and it did. So of course, I ask for more info. He lists off everything that qualifies. I was looking at Volcom hats, but those were a different sale. I didn't read the sign, just saw it looked the same from across the store. This guy was super patient with my retarded questions, even though the sign was right in front of me. If I were him, I'd be wondering if I knew how to read. Lol. But he showed no outward signs of thinking I was an idiot. My husband wanted to get a UofO beanie for his nephew since we were getting one for free, so I had the cashier taking some down off a really tall display. I was having my husband try them on, as some were longer than others and fit badly, so it helped to have someone trying them on. Again, super patient in helping us find the perfect items to buy. On the outside, this store doesn't appear to be anything special. In the beginning no one went out of their way to help us. Which was actually ok, as we didn't need it and my husband and I were debating amongst ourselves, which I despise when people interrupt. But when we proceeded to check out, that's where the real customer service happened. Our cashier wasn't Chatty Kathy or anything, but he did a great job getting us what we needed. Paid $107 for three custom embroidered hats. They missed the delivery/completion date, lost the order slips, embroidered it in the wrong area of one of the hats, and then failed to communicate with me on a final approval for the logo/brand. The new completion date was this past Friday, again no call... it's now Wednesday the next week, and I'm requesting a full refund. DO NOT BUY HATS FROM THIS OVER PRICED SHOP! This review is a 3 simply for one reason only - Extremely limited selection. This store would benefit from a move within the mall to a larger store front. There is very limited amount of hats and with the embroidery machine as Josh talked about took away valuable wall space for additional product. However, I am a huge fan of the embroidery machine, as I did this for my son's baseball team. With this machine I was able to put their numbers and names on their own hats and those of the coaches as well. It is a really nice touch. I too will have to agree with Josh that I am not a big fan of the flat bill hat. I can honestly say I will never wear those stupid flat bill hats. I would say I have easily 100 plus hats that I still have and have owned probably 200+ hats in my time. None are the stupid flat bill. Really don't see the point. Someone however must like them becuase you see them on all the shelves. Oh well, guess I am starting to show my age!! read more

This place does not have a clue about customer service. One of the associates was with other customers and I get it that you might be a minute to help, but not to even acknowledge you is what gets me very aggrevated. Just a, "I will be right with you." Would have been great. Then when the associate was done with his previous customers, he did not even come over to ask if I needed help and started started talking to someone else in the backroom. I hate to do it, but my favorite store to buy hats has dropped from a SCREAMING 5+ stars to a very quiet 2 stars. When I lived in Coos Bay, I would drive up to Eugene just to buy the collegiate hats. My favorites were the pure white hats with the college emblems, they simply looked "clean". Styles obviously change, I'm aware of that...but I dont want to be forced into wearing those hats with the stiff flat bill. It's just not me. Not only that, but since they've brought in the "make your own hat thing" they have completely changed for the worse. They eliminated a whole wall of hats and replaced them with blank hats for the embroidering. That pissed me off when I went in....makes sense they need it, but again, just irritating. Selection has dropped dramatically. You used to be able to find ANY collegiate team in that store. Now it's pretty much all UO hats. I'M A DUCK ALL THE WAY, in fact I bought a UO hat there the other day, but I liked 1 damn hat out of all of them. I'm seeing more Hurley, Kangol, Volcom, DC, now...which is OK...But don't toss out all the other good stuff for it...I hope they turn it around read more

I ordered a hat in store more than 3 weeks ago and still no sign of it. Whenever I call the store the person on the other end, even the manager, can only tell me "I don't know..." over and over again. When someone finally calls "corporate", still a bunch of "I don't knows" and apparently the hat was delivered 2 weeks ago, but the manager "doesn't remember signing for it". A college student out $35 is a big deal, and this was supposed to be a gift. So irritated and never giving them my business again. read more

Had a great experience at Lids. David from San Diego helped me find the right hat i have struggled finding the right hat for over two years,my purchase was high and the work was solid. i know they are not paying him enough and he deserves a raise. I bought Two hates just because of his service. he was engaging other customer while helping me. very impressed with his work ethic to Lid if it was not for David i would have walked in and walked out!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! read more
