Either way, I always find a good deal on my items. I always get good customer service from the people at the store, particularity the ones at the registers. Always smiling and making small talk. I have had multiple experiences here where I have shopped and found absolutely nothing with reasonable prices. They sell clothing items that are for children and make it seem like they are for adults, then rack the prices up 2-3x what they would or should be. Almost everything I have seen on the hangers here have rips, stains, missing buttons, or very loose buttons. I understand it's a thrift store, but they make it seem like they are "high end" when in reality they're ripping off their customers...especially students?..It just feels wrong. Another part of the experience that really frustrates me is how rude the employees are. Every time I have come in, the employees have a really terrible attitude; and do not make the experience enjoyable at all. I'm aware that I can take my money somewhere else, however I think that others should know and be aware of the reality of this store. Lots & lots of fairly interesting trinkets, including huge name-in-lights alphabet letters, decorative mangoes & cheese - now *that's* white - and my personal favorite: the shiny pillows. YOU MUST FONDLE THE SHINY PILLOWS. As for the apparent Christian nature of the chain, it didn't jump out at me in terms of merchandise apart from a selection of surprisingly beautiful crosses (relax, I'm a confirmed agnostic, and I'm not going to shit on someone's parade just to look "cool" for grouches). So why the less-than-perfect rating? Because the people there appear to be assholes. I expect little in the way of humanity from the ill-paid among us, but my one interaction was with an older woman who was openly glaring at me for asking a question... in precisely the same "get thee behind me" manner I received almost everywhere during my travels in Red States. (In case you missed the hint/reference, I'm saying that she was a bitch masquerading as an acolyte of Jesus) But apart from this stupidly contrary-to-Christianity-AND-capitalism attitude, it was a fine experience there. I've gotten Tory Burch, Jack Rogers, and Marc Jacobs shoes here before. If there's something I've bought here more than anywhere else, it would be shoes. They have a good selection, and if you don't see what you like at this particular location, you can always order something on Nordstromrack.com, which has a wider selection. Say that pair of shoes you ordered from the website doesn't fit? No big deal; you can bring them here to return, and there's a 90 day return policy. My latest trip here was unplanned. I was out doing errands and grocery shopping, and my umbrella broke. And of course since it's Eugene, a torrential downpour started. Rather than risk the chance of my purse getting ruined from the rain, I stopped in here before I headed over to Trader Joe's to look for an umbrella. And sure enough, they had a variety of umbrellas to choose from! I ended up getting a good quality umbrella here for $12.99, whereas the cheapest umbrellas across the way at Bed, Bath and Beyond were $18.99. Not to mention, my new green chevron print umbrella is far cuter than the plain black ones at BBB. In a city with a sad excuse for a mall (the Valley River Center, that is), this is one of the few places where you can get good quality clothes, shoes, accessories, and more.

My favorite section of this store is the clearance section, as they are always 50-80% off the retail price. So I've found $40 items for like $5. I've bought a bunch of shirts and sweaters on clearance here. The home section is good too. I've bought some cool kitchen stuff in here, candles, holiday decorations, and more. I'm typically not a huge fan of the shoe section. Just because I never find anything I can't live without there. My husband loves to check out their section of Oregon Duck gear. The store is always clean. That's never a problem. The racks could be spaced apart a little farther, as it seems claustrophobic at times. That's honestly my biggest complaint. Employees are a bit scarce as well. I never see any unless they are at the cash registers. So if you need something, good luck finding someone. They keep the metal pole things to get stuff off high racks stashed around the store, and you're never too far from one. So you just have to look for them. I know this, so I never have a problem with it. But if you're not familiar with where they are, finding someone to help you reach something can be frustrating and annoying. Being short, this is always a problem for me. The cashiers are so-so. They push the credit card thing really hard. I would presume it has something to do with how their performance is evaluated or something big, so they are required to push it. Sometimes they can be downright rude and hostile if you don't want their card. They ask, I give an excuse, they argue. Pull another excuse, another argument, followed by them trying to convince you, bla bla bla. Finally by the time you are agitated enough to snap at them, they back off. But they will harass you until you get pissed enough to yell at them over it. This is the worst part of the experience, and what keeps it at 3 stars. The store and the sales are worth 4 stars, but the cashiers who push the credit cards is what keeps it at 3 stars. I really wish they weren't required to be so pushy about it, and make it a pleasant experience. Unfortunately, it's not. If I could do self checkout, it would totally make 4 stars. Lol. I will definitely keep returning to this store to buy home decorations, clearance items, Duck gear for my husband, and much more.
