The atmosphere is awesome as well as the decorations, however the service and actual items being sold are not the best. I have had multiple experiences here where I have shopped and found absolutely nothing with reasonable prices. They sell clothing items that are for children and make it seem like they are for adults, then rack the prices up 2-3x what they would or should be. Almost everything I have seen on the hangers here have rips, stains, missing buttons, or very loose buttons. I understand it's a thrift store, but they make it seem like they are "high end" when in reality they're ripping off their customers...especially students?..It just feels wrong. Another part of the experience that really frustrates me is how rude the employees are. Every time I have come in, the employees have a really terrible attitude; and do not make the experience enjoyable at all. I'm aware that I can take my money somewhere else, however I think that others should know and be aware of the reality of this store. The Racks...if you want loyal customers and more than 5 yelp reviews (especially being in a student/ tourist populated town) then do better!!

I told her my style and what I was looking for and she immediately found me a vintage handbag with a 50s vibe. It was 50% off and in flawless condition. Then she showed me some jewelry. Some of the pieces were 5$! I didn't have time to try any clothes on. I had an appointment that afternoon. I am definitely going back because it's organized, smells fresh and everything is pressed on hangers and separated by color size and organization is flawless. If you have time,and just want to go through piece by piece...this is where you need to spend a fun afternoon. I'm going to save a few dollars and go back and get a vintage dress. I finally popped an email to the company who makes it, and they suggested World Market. So off I go... Yes... World Market had the item I was looking for. And a whole lot more. All sorts of delicious food items imported from all over the world (sausages, candies, pastas, sauces, soups, etc). A huge selection of hard to find specialty items. I also wandered through the store to look at other stuff, and they have a nice selection of things. Baskets, blankets and throws, furniture, paintings, all sorts of stuff people need. Big Lots typically have low prices on most items. I did see a few toys that were priced higher than Wal*Mart or Target. It appears that Big Lots has stepped up their game in regards to furniture - it simply looks better now, less cheap looking. Cashier was very friendly and efficient, trying to get me to sign up for their rewards program.
