No joke, one of the best vintage shops I have ever been to! Life Goals! They have original Smokey The Bear patches from the 60s, mid-century living room sets, and everything in between. There are definitely high priced pieces in this shop, but just as many smaller less expensive items as well. I am mildly addicted to buying furniture, which Oak Street has a bunch of, but they also have a great selection of vintage cloths and jewelry as well. They are constantly adding new pieces to their inventory, so even if you go multiple times a week there will always be something new to find. Pro Tip: if there is a specific item you are looking for, let the owners know! Even if it is not in their shop currently they might still have it in their inventory. read more

What a fun store to shop! I found a fabulous Balans reclining rocking chair that really tugged at me. They graciously worked with me on the price and delivered it a couple days later. My husband tried to talk me out of it, but I prevailed and am SO happy with my new TV chair! I had gone in looking for a storage cabinet, and now I'll just need to go back again. Oh darn. This was a quite huge collection of vintage furniture (Mid-century moderns, Eames chairs!!!) and they are organized and placed in such a tasteful way- that you really appreciate the store's design sensibility. I didn't feel pressure to purchase items, felt stuffy, or just intimidated walking around knocking stuff down-- the store is very inviting! They are reasonably priced items other than furniture as well! I picked up a beautiful vintage sunglasses and a quality postcard. I wished I had more time to shop here! read more

As soon as I walked in the door and wasn't greeted at all, in the least, by the two ladies at the register, I did not want to give OSV my money. I decided to look anyway, not having been in since the store moved to its new location. The selection isn't huge, but it has a few things going for it: Everything looks to be hand-picked and of high quality, everything is actually vintage/retro (not merely appearing to be that way), and prices are significantly more reasonable than I remember. I picked out a dress for under $20 and a pin for under $10. Very cute items, in that gaudy '70s kind of way that walks the line between straight up ugly and charmingly kitschy. It looked like most of the ladies' clothes were circa the 60s or 70s, though I saw some newer and older items as well. There are also some home decor pieces - not many - and Western-themed garments and accessories. The store is definitely more of a vintage boutique that's great for finding a gift or a special dress than a secondhand thrift store with loads of cheap stuff to stock up on. I didn't expect to leave with more than a couple items. Customer service continued to be not so friendly - I wanted to see jewelry in one of the display cases, and was essentially told, "Well, she [the other clerk] is already there - ask her." Obviously I did not know this. Please, Oak Street Vintage, don't make me feel unwelcome for trying to give you business. I don't need huge fake smiles or small talk, but I would like some basic clerk-to-customer kindness. All in all, the store is worth a perusal because of the unique items it offers, but enter with low expectations. read more

I really like Oak Street Vintage. The displays are super cute and I just can't help but desire just about everything each time I come in here. That said, their prices seem awfully steep. It seems like every time I'm here I find something that is identical to one of my $1 goodwill finds priced at $10+. Nothing kills my thrift store buzz quite like 1000% mark ups. I have an easier time justifying spending too much when it's for someone else, so I really like getting birthday gifts here. I know I'm not the only one in this town who thinks that nothing says friendship quite like a set of metallic pink kitchen canisters or a pair of giant, rhinestone encrusted sunglasses. Can't decide what would best suit your buddy? They'll let you pick out a wacky vintage card and turn it into a gift certificate for the amount of your choice. read more

The creatively appointed space houses a beautiful and well-curated selection of mid-century modern furniture, art, lighting and housewares, and Danish/Scandinavian designs. It's clear that the owner and staff members love their work and cherish every piece of their collection. If you're in the market for well-loved collectors' items (including Herman Miller furniture, Reenskaug rocking chairs, Selig armchairs, Bill Curry lamps, antique bar carts, medical cabinets and card catalogues, teak dressers, dining and end tables, and so on and so forth) this should be your first stop! If your aesthetic heart belongs to the '70s, you're also in luck- lava lamps and cheerfully-hued fondue sets never go out of style here :) Or, if you're looking for small, tasteful & inexpensive ways to spruce up your house, check out the baskets and tables filled with wood letters, vintage postcards, old keys, recycled blue glass mason jars, wool blankets and hand-woven rugs. Love this shop...I've never run into any establishment similar to this with a similar eye for the goods they have on display. This is not a thrift store and you will not find junk here. It's a boutique of unique, rare, quality finds. Gently used items from an era that are in the best condition. It's a store run by somebody who is knowledgeable in names and labels from the era they're seeking out. I've made well over $500 in quality purchases (mostly clothes and art) from this store and will continue to shop there as I never leave without a rare gem that is sought by few and owned by fewer. After all my adventures here I've gotten to know the owners and they always greet me with a sincere smile and an honest willingness to help. I have specifics that I look for and they keep a new find in stock for me every time I pop in. I've never left this shop without making a purchase, although I do frequent here with method. I also never show up without 3 kids in tow...Ha! This is a bit nerve racking for me but they never bat an eye at wandering fingers or my 9 year old trying on a new dress and hat. He was very fair with his pricing and was not afraid to show us any imperfections that were present in the lamps we were looking at. I love this store and I have to disagree with others about the prices. I've been shopping in similar stores in Portland and in Seattle and Oak St. is way more affordable - one of the benefits of having a Eugene Location. I usually have to walk slowly and maybe do a couple laps around the store to be sure to see everything. I've found lots of good deals. I've written about on my blog. At this point I limit how often I go to the store because otherwise I will buy too much stuff. This is a store I love to support! The owners are super helpful and clearly love what they're doing. I used to live next to Oak St Vintage when they were located on Oak St. I LOVED it then and I love it even more now. The new location is perfect. I am able to grab a coffee at Allan Brothers and head over to meander. The staff is always super friendly and helpful and there is never a shortage of wonderful vintage treasures. They have beautiful turquoise jewelry, amazing wool blankets, vintage American flags, lovely 70's furniture. This place is a must! read more

They seem to have some decent things here, but I can't get over their prices for items that have been clearly used. It's a constant state of sticker shock. Most of the items seem as though they were just picked up at a Goodwill, and I've seen some identical patio furniture sets at Bring Recycling for around $10 but then marked up to around $200 here. They compare to any of the vintage shops in Portland and should set their prices accordingly. read more

If you're a fan of mid-century modern, this Eugene spot has some nice pieces. The prices are a little steep, which likely explains why there appears to be slow merchandise turnover, but I appreciate having a place like this in the city. I've been wanting to check this place out for some time. I have a handful of this kind of store I frequent when I'm in Portland and was really excited to have something like this in my hometown! I was not disappointed. The have a great selection of carefully curated high-quality items, furniture, knick-knacks, clothing, of primarily mid-century vintage. The store is laid out nicely. The gentleman working at the store on the afternoon I stopped by was friendly and attentive but also left me and my party to browse without interruption. I will be back to see how often their stock rotates and whether they ever offer sale prices. I am always keeping an eye out for theatre props and furniture and I am sure I'll be back to Oak Street Vintage to find that perfect period piece! read more

I love Oak Street Vintage. For a small store, they have a great variety of clothes, knick-knacks, furniture and the like to gawk at, sift through and purchase if you have the funds. Oak Street has good cheap finds....if you can find them. Oak Street goes vintage all the way and offers up amazing vintage items as a result....that are well worth the price , but don't exactly qualify as on the the cheap. read more

Every time I go in there I find at least one piece, and the folks working are always able to tell me a little something about it. One time I was in there and I started describing this antique hair comb my dad gave me and the woman was able to help me figure out how old it might be and its possible value. Been going to this store since they were on Oak Street, they have a great collection of vintage/retro items mixed in with industrial, cowboy and nice jewelry.
