We went on gameday and I just love the vibe at this place. It gets crowded for sure.....but it's a great place to go after a Sooner game. I had the Tomato, Basil, & Garlic pizza with ripe red tomatoes over fresh cut basil & house roasted garlic. The prices were reasonable and it is a very cozy environment. I look forward to our kiddos moving back to Norman so we can walk to the Library again. I highly recommend this authentic Sooner fan experience in Norman. read more

Library Bar and Grill is a wonderful placed tucked right next to the University of Oklahoma! The atmosphere was very pleasant and the staff were *extremely* friendly and kind. I visited during the OU-UA football game and it was a great place to eat my feelings away haha. The food was magnificent and cooked straight from order, still steam from how fresh it was! You must order the pretzel and beer cheese. One of the best pretzels I've ever had. I ordered the chicken Alfredo pizza. The crust was great, nice and fluffy. The sauce and toppings were what you would expect, pretty standard. My son got a cheese burger. It had a good charbroiled flavor and slight crunch. I have been in Norman for quite some time now and I have wanted to try The Library for some time now. The place is cute and it looks like a house and the restaurant only has 9 tables. I am currently on a gluten free diet so I was disappointed to see that they didn't have any gluten free options for any of their meals. Despite that I still ordered a pizza because they looked really good. I was a little underwhelmed when I went to eat the pizza because there wasn't much flavor in the crust. I had high hopes when I walked into The Library a few weeks ago, a bar with a name that promises a cozy, intellectual vibe. Unfortunately, what I encountered was an experience that left me yearning for an overdue escape. a warm, dimly lit space that could have been the perfect backdrop for a relaxed evening. Sadly, any charm was quickly overshadowed by the sassy, rude employees who seemed to have mistaken customer service for a game of sarcasm and disdain. I was met with eye rolls, curt responses, and an overall sense that my presence was more of an inconvenience than a guest. It took an eternity to be served, as if time itself slowed down. When my drink finally arrived, I was met with a tasteless concoction that barely passed as what I ordered. It was as if the bartender had thrown together random ingredients with the hope that no one would notice the lack of care or flavor. I wanted to love The Library. I wanted it to be my go-to spot for a good drink and a bite. Instead, I walked away feeling let down by what could have been a charming, delightful experience. It seems The Library is overdue for a complete overhaul, but until then, this is one book I won't be opening again. read more

Tip: the marghrita pizza is superb. Perfect blend of vegetables, spices and cheeses, and the crust is absolutely amazing. Buy an extra one, take it home and throw it in the refrigerator. Typical pub menu and reasonably stocked bar. We shared an appetizer and a pizza for a light lunch. I sampled a summer ale (blueberry wheat I think) but ordered the house chardoney; hubby had a Long Island tea. Both were nice choices. I'm gonna be VERY fair right now and say first off: We came to this place later than normal. That being said, the service here was (in a polite word) lackluster. As someone who has been in the business of waitressing gigs; I cannot believe this as a good representation of service in Oklahoma. Let me paint this experience for you: We sit down to a waitress immediately telling us to "hurry and order because they want to shut down the kitchen". (Okay no worries. I've been there kitchen staff wanna leave on time. Gotchu. Something quick and easy.) We order our drinks (only ONE for us apparently because I think that's all we are good for and the bartender was more concerned with talking with her BFFs). We also hurry and order our food and quick appetizers. Our waitress? A ghost, who would stare at nothing for eons; and haunt behind the bar not at all paying attention to the table they're serving. Even when we motion for her for refills/ other drinks, we don't see her again until our food was ready. When we get this food we also take a moment to request some refills. WRONG MOVE. Casper the not so friendly ghost, returns to her perch to not oversee their guests but to transform, once again, into a gargoyle. 15 Minutes later. We done eating. We're no longer interested in staying we don't get our refills. I motion for the check and Demona from the movie Gargoyles short circuits and turns into a person once again who then decides to encourage the bartender to get our refills and gives us our check AT THE SAME TIME. Conveniently SPILLING a soda on my brother ... which... was at this point not surprising. Let me be frank... the last table you serve can make a break tips at the end of the night. This is textbook information, as customers we know we are late and we should tip accordingly. I've been known to tip 100% after 9pm just as an appreciation for the grind. This waitress is lucky they got $10 from me. My boyfriend had to usher me out this restaurant because he knows I have a big mouth. Also, please don't serve that onion burger anymore. I had to go to the hospital because of it. (But honestly. Not even as bad as the service.) Super sad to say but my wife and I have been coming here every Sunday for the last 9 years and they just recently removed their Sunday "Half Priced Pizza" deal. We are sad because this was the one place we really enjoyed going with our son weekly but unfortunately we won't be back due to this change! The Library is a mixed bag, the food and drinks are great! But the wait staff is not the best. It seems they want to spent more time talking to their coworkers then actually doing their job. I understand it is hard to find good help but I think a better job can be done. The ambiance is very cozy and welcoming, it just a little small inside on busy days but that is all of Norman. This place is one of the coolest in Norman! Very quaint,private and intimate.They feature pretty good pizza and pot roast nachos which I have yet to try. Very small bar area and not much seating either but there is an outside patio which is my favorite. I wasn't too crazy about the bar staff,they weren't terrible by any means just didn't really have a great deal of knowledge about drinks,specials or prices. I like the Library! Their patio is nice and has heaters. The inside can be kind of dark and cramped, but it is a cool atmosphere at times. It's definitely a college pub type situation where half of the restaurant (including staff) knows each other. I like the all the time $2 single wells/$3 double wells deal (even though I think they just had to raise prices by like $.25? still a deal!). I appreciate their rotating beers which are usually pretty unique, but those are not nearly as affordable! Their menu is limited here. The pretzels with cheese is pretty good, but nothing else has really excited me. Admittedly, I haven't tried their pizzas which people seem to enjoy, and there's a half off deal for them on Sundays. The service is definitely quite attentive, but they can be a bit intimidating for someone who is still a newbie to ordering at bars... Not a big deal. This place just holds an interesting place as a locale for older OU students and locals. read more

We sat on the patio at The Library last weekend and saw no less than 5 mice. The mice were VERY near the tables, the customers, and our food & beverage. They were very comfortable with humans and continued to get VERY near our table/food & drink. There appeared to be many more mice in the flower beds, which was disturbing, but we consistently saw 5 mice approaching our table & other customer's tables during our visit. We asked to move tables in an attempt to increase the distance between us and the MANY scurrying mice. Although one newly hired server was sympathetic to our request (and horrified by the abundant mouse population) the other staff members were rude and defensive of the mice. This makes me wonder ... if there are so many mice welcome in and around a populated patio during broad daylight - how many and what could they get away with in the kitchen after hours? read more

I come here pretty often but this is the second time where the red headed server/bartender told me I couldn't be on my phone and use Tik tok she claimed my phone was louder than the music and they had the music loud as can be. so I moved from the bar and sat at a table. she then proceeds to tell me im not allowed to use Tik tok at all when my phone is at less than 50% volume and she can't hear it from the bar. I don't know her name, she is red headed and always wears a black dress. she refused to give me her managers number or a way to contact corporate. She needs to be fired and would love this issue to be taken care of. read more
