The Mont should be your destination for all your favorite fried foods, it's soo good! My favorite is their pina colada! A must try if you visit! They are known for their swirl margaritas! Their BLT is to die for! Definitely a must stop in Norman! The staff is always kind and helpful! Always a chill vibe

Great service for such a busy spot. Has a big menu and lots of drink options to beat the heat. Cool dark ambience with a large outdoor patio. Always hit up The Mont when I am in Norman.

Several folks recommended we go to The Mont while in town for a football weekend. We walked over from our Airbnb and arrived around 4:45-5:00 on Friday afternoon. There was a wait (30ish minutes?) for patio seating. The good news? They have some covered seating adjacent the parking lot where you can wait and enjoy drinks, too! We stayed with round one and I ordered the infamous swirl. This frozen concoction is my kind of cocktail! Before long we were seated on the patio where we enjoyed another round of drinks and some shareables - chips and gauc (generous portion!) and fried pickles. The swirl and the atmosphere were terrific. Service was good, too. Fun place to hang out with friends!

In all honesty, I go here for the absolutely best sangria swirl around! The food is good but not overly great. My club salad was good. My husband had the blue plate special with the chicken fried chicken. He enjoyed the meat portion the best. The service is always super friendly! As far as the atmosphere, I prefer going during nice days where you can sit on their wonderful patio. Inside is old fashioned but nostalgic.

Menu is not the same as it has been. Realize when you eat here you are paying for the experience- dine al fresco on their patio. The service is normally decent. Not this time. -I had to wipe our table off because it was still sticky -I had to bring us menus (you seat yourself but it was a solid 15 minutes before our server approached us and they were not busy at all) -server carried our once hot appetizer to FOUR different tables taking care of them and holding the food. By the time she made her way to us it was soggy. -my chicken was like rubber, I didn't finish it -my wife asked for a side of queso but never received it -no one offered us refills, I had to ask three times for a refill in a to go cup -it took a solid 45 mins for our lunch to come up. -I asked for small plates so we could eat our lukewarm soggy fried artichokes I love the Mont and we made a special trip to go. Lesson learned.

Ask the Community - The Mont

Can dogs sit on the patio?

It is my understanding that they are not pet friendly and I do not recall seeing folks with dogs the last time we were there.

Does the Mont have TVs to watch football?

There's 3 TVs in the main dining room and 4 in the bar. During game season/game days, they'll put a few TVs outside also and it's all connected to the speakers throughout.

While this steak wasn't quite as impressive, it was a bit tougher than I'd hoped, the flavor was still phenomenal, with a great smoky, straight-off-the-grill taste. Our server, Gracie, was fantastic: friendly, helpful, and accommodating to our large party. We ordered several appetizers and enjoyed most of them, though the cornbread was noticeably dry according to several people at the table. The coconut pineapple margarita was a standout and well worth ordering. The tropical flavors were delicious, and the coconut rim was a great touch. I also loved my salad, especially the tomatoes, which were surprisingly flavorful. For my entrée, the steak was cooked well and paired nicely with the mashed potatoes. Although the texture kept it from matching my first visit, it was still very enjoyable. One thing we really enjoyed was the atmosphere. We were seated in a room toward the back near the wine cellar, adjacent to a pond outside. It ended up being a great spot because we could watch people enjoying the outdoor area throughout the evening. The restaurant struck a nice balance, it felt upscale and welcoming without being overly quiet. Our group was able to be a little loud and goofy without feeling out of place, which made the experience even more fun. What ultimately secured the five-star rating was dessert. I can't remember its name, but it's pictured in the photo. It was enormous and absolutely incredible, one of the best desserts I've ever had and the perfect ending to the meal. Overall, I would absolutely recommend this restaurant. The steak wasn't quite as tender as I remembered, but the excellent service, great drinks, solid appetizers, enjoyable atmosphere, and outstanding dessert made for a wonderful experience.

Our service and meal were absolutely fantastic. I wish I could remember our server's name, but she took care of our group of about 12 in the back room and was on top of everything all night. She was so kind, patient, and willing to repeat things when needed, which is huge when you have that many people trying to get attention at once. She even thanked us for coming in, which was such a sweet touch. The food was amazing. She accidentally brought out an extra side of squash puppies and let us keep them, so I tried them even though I hadn't ordered them. Let me tell you, you HAVE to order them. They were absolutely divine, and the butter and jam they come with are incredible. I started with a salad, which was also very good, and then ordered the chicken bruschetta based on our server's recommendation. The Brussels sprouts were insane, so flavorful and easily one of my favorite parts of the meal. The bruschetta was delicious too, and I ended up eating almost all of it. Overall, I had a wonderful experience and would recommend Pub W to anyone. The back room was the perfect spot for our large group and had such a fun, relaxed vibe. We'll definitely be back the next time work brings us to Norman!

I have not seen the "very verbose" server, who had interrupted us continually on my first visit. Guess he doesn't work there anymore. Since then, servers have been attentive, but not overly so, and congenial. The restaurant is always clean. This includes the ladies' restroom. We usually get the Pick 2. The chupacabra sandwich is delicious. I've also had the fried shrimp and the fisherman's platter at different times. Both excellent. Suffice it to say, deciding to give Pub W a second try was well worth the effort.
