Five stars across the board for The Winston! We sat at the bar and received excellent service from the several people working behind it. We had four drinks between the two of us and they were all tasty. I especially enjoyed the frozen watermelon drink, which was refreshing and not overly sweet. The double smashed burger available during the Monday special was ridiculously good. The bun was soft and buttery. The beef was juicy, well seasoned and tender. There was a perfect amount of sauce and the burger came together nicely. The Winston is a wonder place in Norman and I would certainly return and recommend. read more

Only been for brunch and was pleasantly surprised! We had our hearts set on Neighborhood Jam but the wait was so long we took a chance and went to the Winston because it's right next door. The Winston is an excellent choice for lunch or dinner if you find yourself in Norman, Oklahoma. My wife stumbled across their Yelp and dragged me in so that she we could try their chicken fried steak sandwich. I AM VERY PLEASED to have come by, this place is A GEM! First of all the vibe and decor of this resteraunt is very modern and upbeat and I loved that. Menu has a variety and the drink menu was very extensive. Since we were there for happy hour, we appreciated their fantastic selections of whiskey and port wines. We sat at the bar and our bartender was incrediblely helpful! She made some great reccoemndations and was just very kind. After placing our order, our drinks and food we're out in minutes. Food was of great quality and seasoned/cooked to perfection. Had delicious food for brunch including very good coffee. The Continental seemed like a lighter option but it's actually quite filling. The feel is upscale casual, a place where the OU students bring their visiting family. Service was prompt and friendly. Will be back when in Norman. read more

Fun find for good food. The food was extremely delicious and packed with flavor. I will say the service is sub par. It took about 15 minutes for our original server to even greet us and offer us drinks. Then another 20 minutes of waiting on just the two drinks we ordered. (Water and Dr Pepper, not a bar drink) The manager noticed we still hadn't had our beverages or our meal order taken and took care of us from there. Our server told us 'the computers froze' which is a bit hard to believe because everyone around us had been continuously served and no other server seemed put out. She could have at least brought us waters to tide us over while we waited and told us about the delay. We had both had long days and just wanted a quick bite to eat so the ridiculous waiting sort of ruined our 'first time' experience there. read more

We have been coming here for years. Once it turned, employee owned, things definitely changed. Tonight one of their staples, the Buffalo wontons, had ranch as the dressing instead of blue cheese. I think they were hoping no one would notice. They were very busy tonight... I will give them that.... But overall, the service level has dropped off, in the food quality has dropped off since they became employee owned. We understand this is a Hal Smith Resteraunt. But it just is really disheartening to see the service level, the drink level, and the food level goes from exceptional to below average. The Truffle Shuffle Burger is EXACTLY what I needed. As I'm quick to order a burger before anything, I couldn't help what came with it along with swapping the patty for a lighter option. Before that came out, I got to try the Crispy Duck Wings. The wings were good. It was coated with a sriracha-sweet chili glaze & hoisin (I LOVE hoisin), the flavors that took place made me want to not share & clean the plate (we had a big group). As for the burger, I got the Garlic Quinoa Vegan Patty & I've never had a patty like that before. It was also good. Outside of that, the burger comes with truffle oil, parmesan crisp, pickled red onion, sautéed mushrooms, soy-garlic aioli AND melted mozzarella cheese. Yeah... Just Imagine... So much flavor. I enjoyed my side of Spicy Sweet Fries, sweet potato fries hit with hot honey. They also have Scarborough Fries, which are LOADED with different herbs & hot honey. The service was great. One server was initially taking care of the whole party (we had two tables split out on the front patio). Extra assistance would come here & there, overall consistent. Basic American restaurant with wide range of whiskey and liquor. Service was good. It's got Winston Churchill pictures all over as name suggests. The food was pretty good. I had bacon avocado burger with truffle parmesan fries. It's not amazing but still a good burger. The buns are soft and pickled jalapeno compliments the bacon and avocado well. We ended up eating at The Winston on both Saturday and Sunday after exploring the menu and talking to our server Logan. On Saturday we ate light since we were going to a concert later. We shared the Buffalo Wontons, the Chicken Flatbread and the Banana Pepper Caesar Salad. The Flatbread was amazing, great flavor combination. The salad has parmesan crisps that were a pleasant surprise. A huge upgrade over croutons. The wontons are light and flavorful. They offer brunch from 10-2 on weekends and after reading the menu descriptions we returned on Sunday to try the Okie Bennie and the Rancheros. The crispy potatoes are awesome. Skin on, seasoned and a great addition to both dishes. The verde sauce on the Rancheros was delicious, the carnitas was tender. A great breakfast bowl. The Okie Bennie was very good. Easy to get a bite of egg, chicken and biscuit on your fork. We finished the meal sharing the sweet potato cheesecake. Our server on Sunday was Matthew. The Winston is worth the wait. This was my daughters spot while she lived in Norman the past 4 years. Hence we had to eat there after her recent noon graduation! They were able to accommodate our part of 16 within 15 minutes! Which was amazing! We had some of their happy hour drinks and of course their signs chambongs which all were simply delicious!
