What a fun wine dinner with our daughter and son-in-law. We enjoyed the pizzas thoroughly and had the Club Med(iterranean) with olive pesto, rosemary, pepperoncinis, goat cheese, balsamic drizzle on flatbread; and The Truffle Shuffle with wild mushrooms & truffle drizzle on hand tossed crust. I thought both were great, but I would probably try the Club Med on hand tossed instead of the flatbread and maybe go light on the pepperoncinis. Otherwise, absolutely fantastic. I would love to return and try some of the other pizza varieties. I believe the pizzas are half-price on Sunday (the day we went). The wine tasting featured Italian wines and this was such a special treat for all of us because we were in Italy last spring and the kids were leaving for a European tour including Italy not too long after our tasting. This made it more relatable for us as we remembered other amazing Italian wines that we have tried. The wines were very affordable and complemented the abundant snack platters that accompanied and included fruits, cheese, nuts and raisins. We ordered three bottles to take home with us including a surprisingly amazing Lambrusco. That is not normally a favorite of mine, but it really opened my eyes to other options for nice summer wines. The service was so personable and absolutely best in class. So attentive and the place has a lovely setup with great patio space that I look forward to enjoying sometime soon. I have been here for both dinner and weekend brunch and I have to say I don't know why I don't come here more often. It's likely because I just don't live that close and it's not an easy place to dine solo, however I went with a group of seven on Saturday for brunch and we got seated right away. Service was excellent and they have so many good things on the menu. We got Irish Coffees and Mimosas, I had a Salmon and Egg Scramble which came with a thin mustard sauce that sounded odd, but was so good. It came with a homemade hash brown patty and fruit. I don't just mean apples and oranges, there was a strawberry on my plate that was as big as my head and super juicy. I'd love to know what kind of sorcery they pulled to get that because strawberries are not in season right now, which also makes me question (in a good way) how it was so affordable. read more

I had the crab cake Benedict and it was beautiful but my poached egg was over cooked making it more like a boiled egg. The potato hash looked over cooked but wasn't. My crab cake was quite bland. Been to Blu many times and very much enjoy their pizzas. Having a rare Saturday at home, we decided to go try their brunch and see if it was as good as their dinner. The huevos rancheros were underwhelming. The dish wasn't bad but there was nothing too special about it. Seasoning was nonexistent and the potatoes were almost inedible. They appeared to possibly have been cooked and then reheated in an abundance of oil, which was not pleasant to eat. The 4 stars are really for their catering to gluten free customers and their lunch and dinner menu. We will be back it'll just be after 4pm though. read more

My last visit here sadly was a let down. First problem, their website is out of date. The pizzas are 1/2 off at happy hour and not $5. This created confusion with our bill that was never remedied. 2nd issue -- Servers were sweethearts and working hard, but rather than being zoned properly they were spread out all over the place and impossible to get. 3rd issue -- Two bartenders could not keep up on a busy Friday night. Hubby's whiskey sour finally came just as we were leaving, 30 minutes late. Server was apologetic, said she would remove it from our bill, but we were still charged. Lastly, the food. Pizzas were pretty good for the HH price. The White Pie (alfredo, chicken & mushroom) was our favorite, but had way to much diced chicken on it. In fact all of our pizzas had too much of everything and were screaming for more balance. Little Figgy was too heavy, I would lighten it up by switching the gorgonzola for mozzarella. Club Med had similar problem, powerful flavors with a lack of cheese meant nothing to temper them. We did enjoy the slightly upscale atmosphere, it's lively and social, with a long bar and party rooms. On a packed Friday night, surrounding conversations are so loud you can barely hear your own table. Still reservations are usually not required, there was rarely a person waiting for a table (good thing, because hostess was also MIA, I think she was wiping tables lol) So is it a quality bistro? Naaah..It's bar food a step up from Bricktown Brewery. But it's adequate. They used to have a larger bistro-style menu. But now the entrees are all gone, now just apps, pizzas, burgers, tacos and quesadillas. But with plenty of wine (wine flights!), great all-day drink specials, and an intimate patio nestled into a quiet downtown corner, what's not to like? If they could just smooth out the service kinks it might be a place worth recommending, especially for late nights (until 2 am!) and groups. read more

Visited this establishment for lunch today. They have an awesome lunch special and an even more awesome brunch special that's only available on Friday and Saturday. Specifically a bloody Mary bar according to my coworkers that went with me. We had the charcuterie board as an entrée and two of us ordered the blue burger with sweet potato fries and my other coworker had a chicken quesadilla that looks delicious. The server was friendly and the service was quick. Price is very fair and all the amazing blue cheese They offer on different plates look delicious. I love Blu. I've been coming here for nearly 20 years now. My family often visits once or more a week. The service is always on point. The food doesn't disappoint. However after visiting twice in the past two days, Blu is now on probation. The service hasn't reached their normal standards. The food has been mediocre. Tonight, water took roughly 15 minutes and reminders. The server was openly rude (Blu caliber servers have never been this way.) Our appetizer (the no-cook Mediterranean plate) arrived well after our entrees. No communication about any backup was provided. The cheddar burger was by far the most flavor imbalanced meal I've had in a while. I tipped well, knowing the rest of the staff would get a share. I hope to go back soon, but our weekly visits will be on pause for a while. Honestly, without the openly poor service, the rest would have made no difference. This place is corrupt. Made a reservation for 12 a month ago for this Saturday graduation. Got a call yesterday telling me that everything on the menu is four times the regular price. So the $13 pizzas are $52. The $18 cheese platters are now $72. Never got an email about the raised prices. Cancelled my reservation and going to a different restaurant. Manager at new restaurant said they are known for doing this. They wait until the last minutes so you may not have a chance to get another reservation and you're stuck paying crazy prices. read more
