Grilled Octopus: (Cannellini beans, arugula, pickled onion, calabrese aioli).
    Don B.

I stopped by Patrono's, a refined Italian restaurant, for lunch today at around 11:40 a.m. and it was a delightful experience despite the place being surprisingly quiet when I arrived. This upscale spot, located in the heart of Oklahoma City, exudes elegance with its clean, sophisticated decor (polished wood accents and soft lighting, with stylish interior). Lunch hours: Tue - Friday 11:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. Dinner Hours: Tue - Thur 4:00 p.m. - 10:00 p.m., Fri 4:00 p.m. - 11:00 p.m. Sat 5:00 p.m. -11:00 p.m. Sun 4:00 p.m. - 9:00 p.m. Perfect timing for my visit! My meal kicked off with the Grilled Octopus appetizer, served with cannellini beans, arugula, pickled onion, and calabrese aioli. The octopus was incredibly tender, melting in my mouth, though the flavors felt mild and somewhat muted, still a solid starter that set a nice tone. Next, I enjoyed the Patrono Salad, which was bursting with flavor thanks to the peppery arugula and a standout pistachio vinaigrette. Beets are my favorite root vegetable, so I was excited for them, but they seemed pre-packaged rather than freshly roasted, which would've made them even better; still, the salad was delicious and vibrant. For my main, I went with the Mezze a la Vodka, adding their in-house made spicy sausage, which brought a fantastic kick to the creamy pasta. The sausage's heat paired beautifully with the rich sauce, though the pasta itself isn't made in-house but is thoughtfully sourced locally, which I appreciate. I opted for a Diet Coke (they serve canned beverages here, which they kindly kept topping off. A thoughtful touch). As soon as my drink arrived, my waiter Cydney who greeted me warmly at the door and let me choose my seat (I picked the bar) then brought out some incredible sourdough bread with balsamic butter and housemade chimichurri. The chimichurri was fresh and zesty, stealing the show with its vibrant herb flavors. Cydney's service was impeccable, and the clean, upscale ambiance made this a memorable lunch. While the octopus could use a flavor boost, the overall quality and attention to detail here are top-notch. I'll definitely return, perhaps for dinner, to explore more of this refined menu!

Great service. Bar tender was excellent great food too! I also had the espresso martini.

Bone-in Grilled Pork Chop with Broccolini

The place appears very elegant. The bathrooms and floors could stand to be a little cleaner, but that is being picky. Went kinda late, so it was very quiet and calm. The server I had was very nice and attentive. I wish he was a little more knowledgeable about the menu, but again being kinda picky. Appetizer: - Grilled octupus I have had grilled octupus many times in various high-end restaurants in various cities around the country. When I saw this on the menu, I knew I had to get it. It's a little pricey. HOWEVER..... it is probably the best I've had. The octupus was so tender, perfectly grilled, and very well seasoned. The bean salad it is served with adds so much flavor and texture contrast. Then add the calabrese aioli to the mix, and it is a true winner!!! Entree: - Bone-in Grilled pork chop with broccolini and creamy polenta This had a lot of wins....and a small flop. The star of the show was obviously the pork chop. It was very tender, juicy, and perfectly grilled. Really couldn't ask for better. The broccoloni was hot but still crisp and seasoned - just a good basic side. The polenta kinda lost me. It had a very grainy texture and not as lush and creamy as I wanted it to be. I honestly would have preferred a creamy bed of mashed potatoes.

My husband and I went to Patrono on a Sunday night and had a wonderful experience! The setting was comfortable and intimate. Our server Maddy was friendly and attentive. The burrata appetizer was delicious; the sweet potato caponata made us feel like we were back in Sicily! Their carbonara is the closest thing we've had to the carbonara we had in Rome! Get the meatballs - they're delicious! Their gelato is amazing! Highly recommend! We did not take advantage of their half off bottles of wine deal - but we'll certainly return sometime for that!

Hidden gem in downtown OKC. Had tried multiple times to visit this restaurant but conflicts got in the way. Was finally able to visit and can tell you we've been missing out. Food was amazing. Best pork chop I've had in OKC (and I've tried quite a few). My family loved their dishes. No issues with gluten and we will be back for sure.

When visiting a new Thai place I tend to start with their pad see ew, so I ordered the lunch combo. It didn't take long for the food to arrive. The veggie filling in the egg rolls was interesting. I really grew to like them. I was impressed with the pad see ew. I have a favorite Thai spot near home, and I love their pad see ew. This is the closest I've found in the metro. I really like the flavor it adds when they finish the dish with a good amount of dark soy sauce. The chicken was tender and the vegetables fresh; a definite thumbs up. I understand they spruced up the place, and it's very nice and clean. For being fairly new, they had a good amount of traffic. I'll be back soon.

Walking in, it was dimly lit & it reminded me of a bar Downtown in Tulsa. We found a table (the place got filled up pretty quick afterwards) caddy corner to the bar & we got help quick. My partner ordered the Oaxacan Old Fashioned, a friend of mine ordered some Truffle Fries & a drink that I didn't catch - as for me, I got the Ginger Beer (I don't drink). The Oaxacan Old Fashioned looked nice with the orange peel climbing out of the glass & had a really good aroma (I took a big whiff of it). The ginger beer was a spicy ginger beer & it was really good. With every sip, it was opening up my nostrils, it had some spice to it for sure. I tried my friend's Truffle Fries & it's something I'd order, especially if I wasn't as hungry & wanted a "snack". You can smell the truffle while the taste was real subtle. All in all, the place was chill. It was a nice wind down from leaving an art show & The Collective (I had no clue it turned into a clubbish scene on a Saturday... they were jammin' that night). My friend was a regular there, the individual who served us was super nice & friendly. There was whole menu to explore full of sandwiches, burgers (I want to try the South West Burger along with the Umami Burger) & all kind of other dishes to choose from. As much as I come down to OKC, I still get familiar with the scene more & more - R&J is added to the list of places that I'd return to. Side Note: A friend of my friend stopped by right before my partner & I left. She ordered the Brussel Sprouts and Bacon & in my head, I dove into her plate before she could.

I finally made my way here tonight before a work get together and initially I enjoyed the space and atmosphere. It is very cozy and intimate, and there are not many bars like it in OKC. However, when it came to the bartenders (two from my interaction) and cocktails -- my experience was less than cozy. Long story short, I asked for an espresso martini, a basic drink I know. And I was told as such by both bartenders working, one of which called me 'boring'. They wanted me to try a drink off their menu, and I respect the pride and effort this business put into crafting unique, holiday cocktails. However, none of them spoke to me tonight, and I wanted a run of the mill espresso martini. One bartender asked if I would be willing to try one of their drinks similar to an espresso martini, to which I agreed, however I still did not enjoy and requested a regular (boring and basic) espresso martini. They said they typically avoid making these popular drinks, but made an exception for me. Which is really unfortunate, because it was one of the best espresso martinis I've had in the city. Both bartenders later apologized for their comments, but I'm unsure if they were genuine or trying to save face. All in all, if you're willing to explore untraditional cocktails with a cozy vibe, you should try this place. If you have a simple pallet, that doesn't need to be wowed, it's questionable if you should visit. If this review doesn't get me banned, I may give it another try. Happy drinking!
