On a free night in OKC, we stopped into the Study. This wine bar features low lighting and lots of cozy seating. I would not consider myself well versed in wines but our server was very gracious and kind in helping making a selection. Elaine's No Good Very Bad Day caught my attention on the menu and I was so pleased to see it came with a cupcake and lottery ticket (no money was won lol). First off the sign is hard to see at night when driving so follow your GPS as it takes you the best parking area a stones throw to The Study. When you first walk in the atmosphere has the "it" vibe. Welcoming but not overwhelming. The lighting is wonderful as it's good enough to sit and read a book but also have an intimate conversation. The best part of the atmosphere is they have various nooks and areas that seat a range of people. The seats vary widely so you are bound to find one that your butt enjoys resting on. And the artwork, nick-knacks, various "Easter eggs" are through the cozy place. They have a few light munches...I recommend the mixed olives. They go wonderfully with a glass of wine. And wine is their specialty. Large variable list at reasonable prices served in the right type of glass for that wine. It was sit yourself and we were greeted by Emerald the manager. She was so very knowledgeable on the wine that she was able to help me remember my favorite wine (it's one of those reds that is hard to pronounce...but she knew it from my description of the taste!!)! My sister from Austin was absolutely taken back that OKC had such a unique, fun vibe relaxing place. She walked around the place and was just impressed with everything on the walls. The restrooms are out in the hallway and used by some other offices/theater, so you have to have a code. Their reasoning for the code makes sense but if you suck at punching numbers (I am looking at my partner) then it becomes a challenge. But they were very nice and clean. My sister and I had a wonderful time catching up and sipping on great wine. We had such a wonderful time that 2 days later we came back and brought my wife...and Emerald remembered us. Visiting from California and my client recommended this place (he may be partial to it since he co-founded it). 1st - Parking, if it says $10 don't worry the Study should comp your parking. Street parking is also available, gotta test your parallel parking skills. 2nd - Coming up to it, it doesn't look like much, just a wooden door. Once you open it, it felt like you got transported into someone's study (ha-ha get it?). It's very cozy and inviting BUT not stuffy and enclosed. The high ceilings play a part in that. The decor is eclectic and fun. 3rd - Service, lovely, wonderful! It didn't feel like service. It felt like going over to a friend of a friend's place where you didn't really know anyone but everyone was nice and helpful. 4th - wine. so far, delicious. I love the variety and the recommendations from the bartenders. Very spot on. Overall, def. coming back every time I fly into OKC. I met some great people (shout out to the swing club!). read more

You need to try this! I'm not much on reviewing the Study in downtown OKC was an experience I stumbled onto that turned a pretty bad day into an enjoyable experience to remember. My wife and I accidentally entered the study after another event. What we found was special. One of the staff had caught our attention as they served on the patio. She was pleasant and directed us to our original destination. After that event we stopped by The Study just to see what it was. It's awesome. We are not wine snobs, but the owner of the Study was so knowledgeable and open we felt like new friends sharing a glass of wine. It was one of the most enjoyable evenings my wife and enjoyed in a while. The Knowledge and kindness to an wine novice or expert was exceptional. The owner and staff are awesome, they can guide an base pallet with no judgement but also know so much about wine an expert "which we are not" would appreciate insights. The atmosphere is casual, eclectic and comfortable. Whether at the bar or some of the alcoves, this is an establishment with history in OKC. I can't recommend the Study highly enough.
