The House that Johnny Pain built! Bingo Tuesday.

I drove past this place many a time before I actually stopped in. Once I did though, I wanted to kick myself for not getting here sooner...no pun intended. This place is the closest thing to an Austin dive bar that I've been able to find and I love it for just that reason. Nothing like a little piece of home and a hilariously friendly staff to make you feel welcome. I would feel remised if I didn't point out that it does get smokey in here, for those that are turned off by this fact. Just because I like this place doesn't mean that you will.

Gus catering to the older broads. He's still got it!

I had my first White Castle burger laying on the floor at this place. When the weather is nice the patio is great. Ask for the world famous Moon Bomb! Place reminds me of Patty's Pub on Always Sunny In Philadelphia. Great place to get weird!

Animal friendly as long as they have a leash!

This is a decent hang out. You can get a good variety of drinks. The atmosphere makes for a casual place to mingle.

Decent little dive bar, eclectic people for sure but that's always fun and I have yet to find any anywhere that can beat their prices!

Just don't go here…read more I've lived here for 5 years and by far the worst restaurant experience I have had in Oklahoma, and if you see my other reviews I'm pretty forgiving and tend to give spots the benefit of the doubt. This is a place worth an absolute flaming of a review.... But they already wasted enough of my time and energy today so I'll just summarize. No management on scene, no hostess, one server, two bartenders and a restaurant at 50% capacity on Mother's Day at 1 p.m. From walking in to having our orders taken, 30 minutes. 45 minutes later our order of roasted vegetable salad, steak eggs Benedict, and sourdough toast arrived. Salad was very well burnt but my mom was trying to be nice and didn't want to walk out. Eggs Benedict came out with two eggs boiled through, a hollandaise sauce with a sour smell and cold steak. I didn't eat it and no one seemed to notice, had it removed from my bill easy enough, but again zero F's given and no management showed daylight. Wife's toast actually arrived 5 minutes after the 'rest' of the food and the only thing hot and delicious. Toast here is $11, so there's that. No one cares here. From the health violations and poor food safety I saw in the kitchen, the multiple tables I witnessed sending back food to the multiple parties puzzled as to why they weren't being sat or once they were entirely ignored... it was so wildly bad I was embarrassed for everyone else having the same experience. Again, don't go.

Doing a day trip to OKC and needed a nice place to enjoy lunch where we could bring our dogs. AI…read moresent us to Cheever's and what a lovely choice it was. The patio space in the front was very secluded and lush, we had it entirely to ourselves. Our waitress was absolutely amazing. They even brought out a water bowl with ice for our pups. We loved our drinks. My espresso martini was boozy and not too sweet with a love whipped topping on top. Her Road to Hana was very refreshing and the pineapple tajin garnish hit the spot. Quick shout out to the dinner rolls and butter. I was starving so this held me over while our shareables came out. The Spicy Caesar was nice, loved the hit of heat that came with it. The Chicken Pepperjack Strudel, a signature dish, was really really good. Just wish it was warmer in the center but yea definitely order this. Juan's queso is not a typical queso dish. First, it's real cheese and it comes with a black bean puree, salsa verde, and avocado thinly sliced on top. We loved it, especially my wife. If you're in search of a higher end dining experience in OKC, Cheever's is a must.

I came here with a large group of about 8 of us with a reservation made early on. We were seated in a nice, private room and had an overall very lovely experience! First of all, our server Trey was just spot on with all of his recommendations. He recommended the crab cakes, the halibut, and anything that came with the spicy shrimp risotto. Our table got crab cakes to start, and this was probably my favorite dish of the evening! The crab cake was large, fluffy, and full of lump crab topped with a spicy and delicious salsa verde and pico. For the entree I ordered the halibut which was cooked well, but the side of spicy shrimp risotto definitely stole the show (as Trey accurately predicted). Most of our party ordered this and everyone was pretty happy with it! For dessert, our table shared chocolate cake and the coconut creme pie. The chocolate cake was very rich and was probably one of the best chocolate cakes I've had, and I'm not a big chocolate cake person. I still definitely preferred the coconut creme pie, which I would order again next time! Our service was fantastic for the evening, and when Trey tells you to order something, trust him and do it!

It was cold outside but warm and welcoming inside the restaurant and we were seated in a big comfy booth which I appreciated. We were immediately given water and drink orders taken. I got the juicy couture from the y2k menu which was a delicious sweet gin cocktail. The cornbread sticks and whipped butter they bring to the table is soft and salty and sweet and went great with our queso appetizer and my entree. For apps we chose the queso fundido and the tuna tartare. Both came with fresh chips that were puffy and perfectly crispy. I loved the tuna, it had a little bit of everything. Spice, salt, tang, creaminess! That luscious whipped avocado it sits on top of kept everything stuck together and easy to scoop up. The crispy queso was huge so I took the rest home. The cheese pulls were insane! Our table ordered the short rib, the filet, and the shrimp and grits entrees and everyone was so satisfied! My short rib was rich and tender and the red wine sauce was glossy goodness. Plus the gratin potatoes with the crispy edges and tons of cheese made the dish so comforting. Finally they brought me a chocolate cheesecake with a candle in it that reminded me of my mom's homemade fudge. It was divine and just melted in my mouth. Everything was excellent! Highly recommend and I can't wait to go back and try more of the menu. FRIDA southwest thank you for starting off my next year with an outstanding meal and a very pleasant experience!

The carne asada with chimichuri ,the refried black beans, corn tortillas, breakfast potatoes, and plantains were amazing. I got a taste of huevos rancheros and it was delicious too. The complimentary blueberry muffins were so good. I can't wait to warm one up with some butter. The lattes were disappointing. It took a long time for them to come out and when they arrived they weren't hot, nor did it have any cute barista art. Left much to be desired. Everyone seemed to enjoy their food. The Cajun fried shrimp had a great taste as well. I wouldn't mind going back to give something else a try!
