Yummy food cooked by the vocational school here. 3 course menu for under $50 for two!! So worth the money and it supports the community and school. We enjoyed our experience here! The menu changes often so you can go multiple times and have a different meal!

We have friends who had highly recommended this restaurant. We checked it out and were very pleasantly impressed! Every few weeks, the menu choices change, so you will want to find their website and check the current menu. Your meal includes a starter, an entrée, and dessert. We both chose the Parmesan crusted chicken with Italian squash. (The filet of beef, pasta carbonara, or cioppino stew each sounded good, and the pork loin was recommended). For starters, one of us chose the antipasto plate and one chose the calamari dusted with polenta and finished with orange oil and garlic aioli. Dessert was either Nutella crepe with strawberries or tiramisu. Yum!

We had a great time here. The service was awesome and our waitress was very friendly. The appetizers were really good. I loved 2 of the hummus, one was a little spicy for me but my husband liked it. We both really liked the Arancini. The bread basket had 4 types of bread with fresh soft butter. Loved getting to try all the different kinds of bread. My husband had the chicken cordon blue. It tasted really good but was slightly over cooked making it a touch dry. I have the Pork snitzel, a breaded pork chop. It tasted awesome but there was a long chunk of fat along one side. My first bite was all fat. Wish they had cut that off before they cooked it. The dessert was warm apple crisp with vanilla ice cream drizzle with caramel. It was perfection. Just the right amount of apples to crisp. Loved the ice cream melting over it. I thought this was an awesome restaurant. We will definitely go again soon

District 21 is a unique restaurant run by the culinary students at Francis Tuttle. They serve dinner on Tuesday-Friday and you do have to call to make a reservation. The menu changes every so often, it is usually a 3-course meal with a few different choices for each course and the prices tend to run between $24-28 for the whole meal. The food is always great and presented nicely! My husband always gets the filet and says it is excellent. I recently got a salmon dish and it was cooked perfectly. Things to note: they do not serve alcohol and service can be a little slow. On our last visit we were there for about 2 hours. But, we know that the students put so much effort/care/learning into each dish and the meals are delicious! Once you turn onto the campus off of Rockwell, the restaurant is pretty far back. Keep driving back and you'll find it! I definitely recommend you give District 21 a try for a nice evening!

This was a really cool experience. Their menu changes every couple of weeks so the students can learn techniques of different cuisines. The night I went we had a group of around 15 and it was a French menu. You do need reservations, so be sure to call ahead. It's really nice that the tips go back to support the student activity fund as well. Definitely worth visiting on a regular basis for a unique experience!

We had a wonderful time dining here last Friday as part of the Guest Chef Series. Chef Russ Johnson of Ludivine planned an excellent menu that the Culinary Arts students executed under the training and supervision of Russ, Chef Chris Becker and Chef Marc Dunham. The passion for cuisine was evident, and the students did a wonderful job carrying out some really impressive feats. Our first course consisted of a Holy Trinity Duck Egg, with foie gras, a slow scrambled egg, local paddlefish caviar and pea shoots. This has to be a tricky dish, but ours were perfect. The second course was a potato wrapped scallop with tomato braised bacon, grilled pea shoots and sea beans. This might have been my favorite course. Scallops are so hard to get right, and these were perfect. The potato wrapping and the bacon were excellent accouterment. Sea beans are growing on me after having them at a few recent meals. Course Three was my husband's favorite, and I enjoyed it very much as well. Roasted lamb loin with mushrooms, spring root vegetables and a Sunchoke puree. The lamb was perfectly roasted, and the variety in taste and texture of the mushrooms was perfect. The beets were lovely, as was the puree of Sunchoke that underscored the entire dish. I have to say I'm not a big turnip person. I know they're in season and local so they're a part of any localvore menu right now, but I've just never gotten into them. Finally, the fourth course was a chocolate torchon with a side of what can only be descirbed as pine nut brittle, Regina blu cheese, a candied fig and a port reduction. I loved the torchon and the fig, and I just feel like I'm not cultured enough to do blu cheese with my dessert (see what I did there)? Overall, this was a wonderful experience and I plan to go back again very soon for a regular meal at d21. Will report back!

When it comes to top notch dining at the best price you can find, District 21 has to be on that prestigious list. This place stole my heart at the first bite. I remember it like it was yesterday....The warm spinach, bacon and feta cheese salad changed my life. Now I can't eat a salad without wishing it was this one. It includes toasted pepita seeds, caramelized onions and some glorious dressing. All these flavors together are harmony in my belly. I always feel good after devouring a huge bowl of yummy spinach :) Once they pry the salad bowl away from me, there is nowhere else I could find comfort but in a perfectly seared meaty steak. It usually is accompanied by creamy mashed potatoes and some amazing veggie. The menu description will leave a lot to the imagination if you are not used to simple explanations and want more details before ordering, ask the wait staff whom happens to be culinary arts students from Francis Tuttle! The fact that our local youth have something to do with this meal just makes it taste so much better. They are very smart and driven if you get them to open up. I always feel as if I want to make a connection with someone where I love to frequent so that in the event I come twice a week, they are less likely to judge. Now for the finale, dessert! Order two and sharing is not an option. Don't say I didn't warn you. Eat up and tell me what you thought!

I am so glad I got a chance to try District 21, thanks to some guest chef dinner tickets from Julie. I live just down the street from Francis Tuttle, and my boyfriend and I have been wanting to try it. We came for Guest Chef Kathryn Mathis, who just opened Pizzeria Gusto on 23rd. I'd been wanting to try Gusto too, so this seemed like a great opportunity to sample some of Kathryn's food. Our first course/appetizer was a tuna salad kind of thing, but MUCH better than any tuna salad I've had. It had good chunks of tuna, kalamata olives, garbanzo beans, green beans, tomatoes and a lemon dressing (probably more stuff that I'm forgetting) and it was really yummy. I love tuna, I love garbanzo beans, and it all went together really well. Second course was a carrot and fennel salad with Italian sausage. This was reallllly good. The carrots were really flavorful and the sausage added a nice kick. The third course and our entree were short ribs with a gnocchi and vegetables. This really blew me away. The short ribs were so tender and pretty much fell apart on the plate, in the best way possible. The gnocchi and vegetables were great too and it all went perfectly with the sauce. The final course for dessert was a butterscotch pudding and a small chocolate tarte with cherries on top. I preferred the tarte, and my friend preferred the butterscotch, so that means they were both delicious. The tarte was tough to eat with the fork but was so good and I'm a sucker for chocolate! I know I'll be back in the future because this is a great restaurant, great teaching concept and great food.

The price is surprisingly cheap for the amount of foods we had. It was a 3 course meal, i had ribeye for my entree which only cost me 26 including tax. Everything was good especially my steak. They also gave a free dish of the day design by the student. The food is comparable with those fancy restaurants out there like red prime and vast. Definitely recommend this hidden place. Remember to call for reservation. Also, they take reservation only after 3pm.

Yummy garden fresh Bibb and burrata salads

I am thoroughly impressed by the concept and execution of District 21. For those who don't know, this restaurant operates out of the culinary school at Francis Tuttle. Therefore, the chefs are students at the school and some of the proceeds (mostly tips) go to them. The restaurant is well-designed, clean and modern. The menu is neat. 4-5 small plates, 4 entrees and 4 desserts. I believe it changes, but I'm not sure how often. Tonight, we had the pork, which is a pork dish 2 ways: pork belly and pork chop. The flavors were fantastic. The meat was tender with a nice crisp on the outside. It came with greens, cauliflower and sweet potato casserole. I literally scraped the bowl for all of the sweet potatoes. That was my favorite part of dinner. It is indulgent like a dessert. They even brûléed a layer of sugar on top! The ribeye was okay considering that it is a fattier cut of beef that we don't usually buy. It was a bit undercooked for a medium, but they brought it back and made it right the second time without hesitation. I almost forgot about our salads. The Bibb and Burrata salads were fresh and delicious like they came right out of a garden. The tomatoes were so sweet and obviously vine-ripen. We wanted the apple dessert, but they were already out. This obviously means that we have to come back again!! FYI: they do not serve alcohol and are only open from tues to Friday.

Even though our server said the dishes were meant for sharing. One of the big drawbacks was the lack of clarity around spice levels. The menu didn't indicate if the dishes would be spicy, so I was in a bit of a surprise when I ate my steak tacos. For the elotes, they were very tangy and were very overpriced for what it is. We were ordering that to go with the tacos since they don't come with a side. And the elotes came out before for our tacos which we waited for because we didn't want to eat it on its own. So it was frustrating. We did enjoy the karaage-crispy and flavorful. The aioli was on the tangy side though. Cocktails were probably the highlight of the meal. Reasonably priced, generous portion compared to the food. Overall, while I appreciate the effort to bring some bold flavors to the table, I don't think we will be returning. It's definitely not worth the price.

Sometimes the service at new restaurants is challenging but not here. We received fantastic service from the moment we were greeted at the door. The menu is littered with unfamiliar terms and ingredients that you may want to Google beforehand. My husband and I did this before our visit and really had fun learning new names and techniques. It made our visit even better and we were very excited to try new dishes. We were a foursome and treated the menu more like a tapas, sharing bites among friends. This allowed us the opportunity to sample many more dishes than usual. We started with a simple chips and guacamole, which was clearly fresh and made in-house. Next time we'll definitely start with the salsa trio as it sounds equally delicious. Next we ordered the White Bean Purée. The addition of the short ribs makes this a dish not to overlook. We also had the Karaage which is a Japanese style fried chicken. It's not something I'd imagine seeing on a Latin restaurant menu but boy am I glad it is. You can't go wrong with it. You order sides for the table so we chose Elote (Mexican style corn) and Papas Verde (potatoes with verde sauce), as well as a Romaine salad. I didn't get a picture of the salad until it had been dished out so my apologies for the incomplete photo. My husband and I ordered tacos, the Suadero (brisket) for me and the Skirt Steak for him. Both were loaded with flavor but not spicy hot if that's your concern. Our friends ordered the Smoked Half Chicken to share between them. I had a taste and it was terrific, juicy and flavorful. In spite of the mountain of food we'd enjoyed, we couldn't resist dessert, two of them actually. The Banana Bread came with a peanut butter mousse and these delicious cookie and coconut crumbles. The bread was moist and delicious but that mousse was simply fantastic. I've never had anything like it and would buy it by the jar if I could. The Concha is another delightfully unique dish. They take strawberry ice cream, coat it with cornflakes and deep fry it. It turns out looking like a fried chicken breast. They use a Mexican style sweet bread for the buns and deliver it with a knife stuck into the "sandwich" as you'd expect with the real thing. I couldn't try it due to a food allergy but my three tablemates devoured it in short order. If you have a sweet tooth Vecina has the answer for that. I'm very impressed with the food and the wonderful service. It's a fun place and we can't wait to go back soon.

If you're not taking advantage of birthday perks... what are we even doing?…read more Bricktown Brewery continues to prove why it's one of our go-to spots, and this visit was no exception. Being part of their Fan Club definitely has its perks--a free birthday entrée is a pretty solid way to celebrate. My wife made the perfect call with the Chicken Fried Chicken, paired with fried okra and their Freedom Fries. Crispy, hearty, and exactly what you want from a comfort meal. Bonus points for serving Pepsi--her favorite--which always scores big in her book. We kicked things off with their house salads, and I've got to call this out... cold plates matter. It's a small touch, but it makes a difference. She went Ranch, I stayed loyal to Blue Cheese (as it should be ). Now for me--I've worked my way through a good portion of this menu over the years, so I like to mix it up. This time I went with the new Bricktown Sampler: * Buffalo Chicken Tenders * Fried Pickles * Fried Green Beans * Pretzel Bites And let's be clear... I swapped the ranch for blue cheese. Because Buffalo + Ranch? Not happening over here. Their blue cheese is legit--creamy, bold, and exactly what those tenders needed. Service was outstanding--Jasmine took great care of us, attentive without hovering and kept everything moving smoothly. We passed on dessert (only because I had other plans lined up), but honestly, it wasn't missed. Final Thoughts Bricktown Brewery checks every box: * Consistently good food * Friendly, reliable service * A menu that truly has something for everyone * And a rewards program that actually makes you want to come back This location continues to be our favorite--and nights like this are exactly why. We came on a Friday evening with a group of 17, but they didn't have enough seating for us, which is completely understandable given how busy it was. The brewery itself looks great, and the energy inside is definitely fun and inviting. I would recommend Bricktown Brewery for smaller groups or casual evenings out.
