Classic burger with fries and arugula
Aditya S.

A unique take on classic American favorites by chef Andrew Black. We went for happy hour which had a ton of well priced options. The weekly special was a mac and cheese with chicken pizza which wasn't a pizza in the traditional sense but the crust was thin, crispy and delicious and the ingredients blended perfectly. Brussel sprouts were delicious. Pastries all come from La baguette so you are getting some of the best cakes in Oklahoma. Ambiance was beautiful and our server Amanda went above and beyond to make sure we had a great experience. Great place to go with a group of friends and highly recommend trying Chef Black's other spots (Dougla is one of my favorite restaurants in the city!)

What a phenomenal location by Chef Black. Gorgeous decor, nice quiet music, Landon was an incredible server. I have seen many people complain of serving size here, but we felt the servings were perfect allowing for us to taste many dishes without waste. Every plate was balanced perfectly and the visual plating was beautiful as well.

We walked in on a Wednesday night and were immediately seated. We ordered drinks, they were delicious and so cute! Our server was amazing, she explained the menu and gave us drink recs as well. I had the chicken and goat cheese pizza which was delicious! It was a nice thin crispy crust so it wasn't too heavy which I liked. The interior is very pretty, loved the seating and the decor. Can't wait to come back and try other items

Chris and I were looking forward to dining here. We stayed at the National Hotel so we knew it was just across the street from our hotel. We were looking at their menu online and we both agreed to each order the Sorghum-glazed sea bass and we're so glad we did! The fish was flaky and well-seasoned and paired well with the pearl black rice and citrus beurre blanc sauce. It was divine! We had the F5 Kobe beef and calamari for appetizer. I have to say the beef was a little tough but the calamari was perfect! Service was quick and our server was very attentive. The restaurant is huge and very elegant.

From the moment I walked in it was incredible. The music that atmosphere the people the guest everybody was Vibing together. Everybody was talking and it was so cool. It was very accommodating and personable. You guys should be packed every night. 10/10 on the bison. The food was incredible!

I really wanted to enjoy this restaurant but out of three tries only one was semi-acceptable, but still below expectations. Each order had its own issues, if this was a quick and cheap meal it may be one thing but for $70+ per order it was overall a disappointing experience. The ambiance is beautiful but the service and execution leaves a lot to be desired. Very very inconsistent food also. If I was not staying at the hotel, I would never try again. I'm hoping it was just an off week.

Delived eggs with a delicious arugula salad

Excellent! Our first experience wasn't totally great but it was a holiday and just not what we expected. But I am SO glad we gave it another try! It was delicious! The staff was amazing! Loved the look and the food and the service. We will definitely go back. The deviled eggs were tasty! The surf and turf cargot was exceptional! I absolutely loved the brick roasted chicken and whipped potatoes!

Came here with a party of 12. We came during their happy hour time which to note is NOT a discounted menu it is just the oysters, pizza and appetizers available 2-5pm so more of a limited menu. I had called earlier to book for a party of 12 but didn't receive a call back but the staff was extremely accommodating once we did arrive and seated us as a party of 12. The service was spectacular and the food was just okay, all of it was pricey. I was expecting more from the pizza it was extremely thin and had like barely anything on it? Cheese and sauce wise. The scallops were flavorful and cooked well.

"escargot" - mushrooms and cheese appetizer
Audrey L.

Quite frankly, we were disappointed with both food and service, particularly since we were so excited to come since we had read up on the chef and wanted to try one of his restaurants. We came here for lunch the day after Christmas and were the first to be seated. The place was otherwise empty and started filling up gradually. Our server was super friendly and sweet, but she failed to mention some important details. For instance, nowhere on the menu did it say that the escargot didn't come with actual escargot. We didn't know, and the server didn't tell us. When the appetizer came it was literally mushrooms with cheese on top and a piece of toast. It tasted okay, but we would never have ordered that for $14 if we had known there was no escargot in it. In addition, the menu didn't mention whether or not the sandwiches came with fries. So we ordered truffle fries as an appetizer, assuming it would have said something if it came with, and ordered a burger and the French dip, both of which ended up coming with the same fries. One would think that the server might mention that there were fries on the side so that we wouldn't need an additional plate full of fries, but that too was not the case. Both burger and French dip were good, but honestly nothing special. We also ordered the salmon, which tasted really good. Everything on that plate was comforting and well-seasoned, but the portion size was very small. If I had only ordered that as my entree and nothing else I would have left hungry. Overall a disappointing experience in terms of expectation vs reality, and also a lack of communication that left us feeling like we just didn't get what we paid for.

Attended an event at Perle Mesta, it was such an amazing experience! From the Parmesan truffle okra to the spiced plantain chips with garlic ranch, everything was so tasty! Chef Black is personable and put a lot of thought put into each section of the restaurant! So happy to have had this opportunity to support a local establishment. We'll be back for dinner!

Cute spot! Certainly still in the early phases but beautiful nonetheless. If you want a good place for a quick drink I recommend this place. Food for value was pretty illogical. The bites were fine but certainly not worth the price. The bee sting drink and Na-groni wete great mocktails! Ryan, our waiter, and the bartender were great also! Very helpful when sitting a party of 12, the event space was private and beautifully set.

Just don't go here…read more I've lived here for 5 years and by far the worst restaurant experience I have had in Oklahoma, and if you see my other reviews I'm pretty forgiving and tend to give spots the benefit of the doubt. This is a place worth an absolute flaming of a review.... But they already wasted enough of my time and energy today so I'll just summarize. No management on scene, no hostess, one server, two bartenders and a restaurant at 50% capacity on Mother's Day at 1 p.m. From walking in to having our orders taken, 30 minutes. 45 minutes later our order of roasted vegetable salad, steak eggs Benedict, and sourdough toast arrived. Salad was very well burnt but my mom was trying to be nice and didn't want to walk out. Eggs Benedict came out with two eggs boiled through, a hollandaise sauce with a sour smell and cold steak. I didn't eat it and no one seemed to notice, had it removed from my bill easy enough, but again zero F's given and no management showed daylight. Wife's toast actually arrived 5 minutes after the 'rest' of the food and the only thing hot and delicious. Toast here is $11, so there's that. No one cares here. From the health violations and poor food safety I saw in the kitchen, the multiple tables I witnessed sending back food to the multiple parties puzzled as to why they weren't being sat or once they were entirely ignored... it was so wildly bad I was embarrassed for everyone else having the same experience. Again, don't go.

The appetizer we order based on the waiter suggestion was a sloppy culinary mess, not one person in this group of 6 could eat it. With much delay again, we placed our orders, the salad I order came incorrectly, I orders and spinach salad and received a caesar salad; they forgot the salad my friend ordered until after the main course came and she had to remind the waiter who had not placed that order at all. My husband had to wait 20 minutes for an ice tea refill, my friend was not able to place order for a 2nd beer for about the same time because the waiter would just not come back to check on our table. The caesar salad I ended up eating did taste good, the pizza was decent. The waiter did take the dips off our checks because we sent it back, so I appreciated his responsibility with this. It was a very disappointing experience, 2 of our friends drove from Norman to meet us here and we are not able to see each other often. The ambiance was also very loud and hard to have a conversation without speaking very loud. I do not recommend and will not go back to this restaurant.

They had a lovely outdoor seating but it was just too hot for that this trip. There is an upstairs and downstairs area and we were seated downstairs. The atmosphere was casual yet classy. We were there in time to just enjoy the last half hour of happy hour. So we indulged in their half off Patatas Bravas appetizer. It had a very generous proportion. It was a great appetizer especially for a happy hour food and drink type. Luckily our server Zach let us know the sauce was at the bottom so we could stir it up a little and ensure every bit had sauce. My wife got her continuously boring Savignon Blanc. And I explored the Bartender's Choice due to happy hour. A drink they decide and surprise you with. Zach asked me some basic questions to ensure it would be a drink I might like. For example if I didn't like vodka and the drink had vodka that would suck. But with the inquiry my drinks were amazing. I had one called Gold Rush and a French 75. For our main meal my wife had the Chorizo Mac and Cheese and I had Wagyu Sirloin medium well with a side of local greens and oregano vinaigrette. The Mac and cheese has the perfect spice only a chorizo could bring. The proportion was perfect for a meal in itself. I also got 2 steak sauces: one was Smoked Paprika Carmel sauce and the other was Chimichurri. The Wagyu was more medium than medium well but not a big deal for me...I just don't want it to bleed out when I cut into it and luckily it didn't. It was tender and juicy by itself but the sauces did kick it up a notch in flavor. I was more partial to the Smoked Paprika sauce as the Chimichurri sauce was a little spicy for me. I enjoyed the top part of my greens but towards the bottom all the vinaigrette settle there and drowned the greens. I should have asked for the vinaigrette on the side so I could control the amount. Our dessert was a liquid dessert when the Sauvignon Blanc reared its ugly head (no really it was good hence so many glasses) and I had my tried and true old fashioned with a large cube and bartender s choice on a top self bourbon. We did use the bathrooms and we can happily report the bathrooms are very clean, nice and smell good. Overall we really enjoyed ourselves from the moment we walked into the place and until we departed. This welcoming place is beckoning us to come back and we will oblige.

Bathrooms were equally cute and super clean. Street parking was easy for us, but could get tricky later. Food was hit or miss. The beef skewers were AMAZING--pepperoncini and vinaigrette gave them the perfect acidic, flavorful bite. I would've ordered another. The short rib was tender and delicious, while the artichoke dip and fried burrata were decent. The Wagyu sirloin was unfortunately chewy and overcooked, but the chimichurri was fire. Service was friendly but a little iffy with a few incorrect dishes. Prices are fair, and $2 well drinks during 4-6 happy hour is borderline irresponsible--in the best way. Would I become a regular? Probably not. Would I go back for those beef skewers? Absolutely.

We got the Baked Chèvre for our appetizer. It was layered with flavor and a most delicious and perfect bite for a cold evening. My entree was the Rainbow Trout. The fish had crispy skin and was moist, flaky, and well seasoned. The broad bean mixture served with it was equally delicious. The hubby had Honey Roasted Lavender Chicken which he declared to be one of the best chicken dishes he's ever had. He even raved over the vegetables that came with it.
