What an incredible dining experience! My husband and I saw a news feature on Chef Black and knew we had to try it. We traveled from Tampa, and it was absolutely worth the trip. From the moment we were seated to the very last bite, everything exceeded our expectations. The setting was intimate, with a small group of guests dining together, which made the experience even better. We enjoyed chatting with the friendly couple next to us, who shared the same glowing impressions of the restaurant and OKC. We can't wait to return and see what new creations Chef Black has in store!

Grey Sweater is a unique dining experience forOKC. The mystic behind the charming restaurant when you park in front. Upon reservations you wait next door at their sister restaurant Black Walnut, we sat at bar & had a martini while we waited. Our GS hostess came to seat us, in the lovely subdued Grey Sweater. 52 seats makes it an intimate dining experience. The special curated multi course dinner was just ok. Nothing really popped that much in flavor that would entice us to return. Presentation was very nice. Server was friendly, but not sure if very well educated in the courses being presented. Server sat dish down, walked away & when returned he asked us flavor profiles we tasted. We communicated with him what we thought we tasted & he would mumble something then walked away. Leaving us wondering what exactly we ate! They do have a small bar, but surprised they do not have a mixologist on duty. The wine at dinner was nice or you could order a cocktail. But after dinner, to free up the table we were going to sit at GS bar & have an after dinner drink, so a mixologist on duty would be nice, especially a restaurant as GS caliber. Nice experience but nothing stood out to make us return.

Even their coffee situation is expert level. Perfect ratios and flavor.

We love Grey Sweater and the palate party it delivers every single time. We typically opt for the ten-course tasting, and if you consider yourself a foodie, you'll be very glad you made the reservation. The experience feels personal and intentional--beautifully paced, thoughtfully executed, and a true delight to the senses. Portions are small (as they should be when you're enjoying this many courses), allowing you to savor the progression without feeling overwhelmed. We don't usually order cocktails, but Grey Sweater's bespoke bar program is reason enough to make an exception--absolutely worth it and truly incredible - a must! The bill arrives tucked into a grey sweater pouch (a charming on-brand touch), and yes, this is a splurge. But foodies expect that--and in this case, it's well earned. Hands down, the best restaurant in OKC for a top-tier fine-dining experience.

We came here for our 5 year anniversary after wanting to check it out for so long. Grey Sweater does not disappoint. The flavors, the presentation, the service... it's an art. We were very well pleased with our experience here and recommend it for any special occasion! I can't even explain it. I just know everything tasted fantastic, and we did not leave starving. You pay for the culinary expertise and creativity, so definitely keep that in mind when coming. This is such a unique place that I am glad we get to experience in OKC!

The Grey Sweater is an experience. I went for my birthday .I felt so fancy this restaurant is very romantical and a great date night .People were there from other states visiting Oklahoma for this restaurant experience. The food is small but delicious and different. The service....impeccable which is hard to find these day. A gorgeous space and a must do for a special occasion or just a new experience.

Our daughter wanted to treat us to a nicer dining experience in OKC with James Beard award winning Chef Black. We traditionally prefer an Ala Carte menu but was swayed to go despite only having the Pre Fixe options. We ended up all happy that she chose the 7 course option instead of the 10 as the portions were generous and we were filled. There was an interesting selection of courses and of course, some of us loved a particular dish while others didn't. This is why I prefer selecting our own. I really enjoyed the first courses which were creatively prepared veggies and also the seafood. The meat courses were not as enjoyable but I was happy to taste the creative preparation. I never cared for quail and venison so I would not be a good judge of those dishes. A couple of us had the wine pairing and opted for the Premier wines which were pricier than the whole meal but featured excellent paired wines. If you are a wine connoisseur and like the experience of quality and some rare wines I suggest this option however I am sure the Silver and Gild options were excellent as well. We likely would try to silver pairing next time. The $300 price tag is geared for oenophiles. Overall a great experience

Ambiance was ok. Main dining room had a lot of dead space and had a cold feel and plain walls, while the counter area was a bit more stylish. We opted for the counter area. I agree with all the other negative reviews here. We have had some spectacular tasting menus over the years, and this just isn't one of them. Servers were very knowledgeable and nice, but service was slow for no reason. First course is a cone that took about 30 minutes to get in front of us. The silver wine pairing had some great selections, but for the price I expected more than a sip at a time, which is what it was. On the subject of the wine pairing I thought it was shady that they offered us a red dessert wine at the end of the night, but forgot to state that it was an extra $30 on top of the $200 for what amounted to about half a bottle between us. Food was ok, but small and slow. One bite or two every 30 min means we are likely trying to find food when the "meal" was done. Felt like we were just waiting and waiting between courses and by the time they arrived we were just happy to have anything in front of us. We understand how this process works so I don't need the business rebuttal telling me how a tasting menu is supposed to be. We just felt that for the price the value and level of service just wasn't there.

Unsurprisingly, this was one of the most exciting and delicious dining experiences I've ever had in Oklahoma City. I am 7 months pregnant and greatly appreciated Grey Sweater not only accommodating my dining restrictions, but also their bartender created some delicious mocktails for me, while the rest of my party enjoyed the wine pairings. I never felt as though my experience was lacking due to my pregnancy dining restrictions. I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for a unique and interesting experience. I look forward to going back once the menu changes.

As someone who has only lived in NYC and LA, I was amazed to experience a legitimate fine dining establishment in Oklahoma. Grey Sweater is the work of James Beard Award winning chef, Andrew Black. While the cuisine can be broadly described as "New American", there is ample global influence, and rare, precious ingredients that you will not find anywhere else in this region. Grey Sweater offers a 7 course tasting menu for $137, and a 10 course for $187. Do the 10 course. It was the perfect amount of food. They also offer three different wine pairings: Silver, Gold, and Platinum, for $100, $150, and $300 respectively. We opted for the Gold tier, and were impressed by the overall value, and sommelier's thoughtful selections. The meal was exceptional from start to finish. My only complaint is that unlike most restaurants of this caliber, they do not print you a menu to keep. For this reason, my recollections of each dish are not as accurate as usual. I love having a personalized menu (I keep them forever lol). Stand out dishes included an Osetra caviar topped grilled cheese, an oyster with strawberry snow made with liquid nitrogen, the most delicious scallop I've ever had (served in a passionfruit beurre blanc), and a savory ice cream cone. I do not eat meat, so my main course was a wonderfully spiced corn fritter dish inspired by chef's Jamaican roots. Service was polished and professional yet personable, and the meal was perfectly paced. The open kitchen is sleek and modern; definitely sit at the chef's counter, which is spacious. Grey Sweater could easily hold up in any major US city, and honestly, is worth going out of your way for.

This happens to be a very old post that I've been meaning to review. I'll definitely be back to try their updated menu. Everything about this place screamed fine dining and elegance. Beautiful interior with a private entrance. Amazing cocktails. Service was phenomenal. Best fine dining experience in OKC in my opinion. Had a chance to try out @greysweaterokc * Grilled Cheese * Turnip * Oyster * Savory Ice Cream * Scallop * Tomatoes * Pigeon * Bison * Citrus Sorbet * Creamy Ice Cream

You don't need me to tell you that this place is amazing and so is the food. Came with my husband, did the 7 course menu with the wine pairing and it was *chef kiss*. Absolutely loved it, very fancy, great food. Got suuuuper drunk from the wine pairing which is my only regret. I wish I would have been sober at the end of really enjoy the last two dishes but that's on me! The wine and food were great. Wish some of it was written down to reference while we tasted because it was so flavorful and good, but that's the ambiance. High recommend! The chai ice cream was amazing, my favorite dish was the scallop. Just very very good food all around.

Orange-chai ice cream, alder-wood spiced nuts, blueberry reduction, chocolate sugar.

This is one of the best dining experiences I have had in OKC. It felt like a Michelin star restaurant. Service was on-point, the GM, Michael, was at the helm getting involved with service like a true maître d'. How the chefs managed to cook all of the courses perfectly, for each guest who was on a different course, without uttering a word to one another is shocking to me. The servers were knowledgeable and explained every detail and ingredient as the food was served. It was quiet and relaxing with upbeat music, and I loved it. There's nothing worse than listening to elevator music. We did the 7-course dinner, and I'm glad we did. I was stuffed by the 5th course! I think my favorite dish was the bay scallops with caviar and passion fruit foam. The lighting was a little dark over the plates, so the photos didn't turn out the best, and I wasn't about to use flash. I did however steal some high quality images of the same dishes from their instagram page :)

"I need a new vocabulary to describe this place" A visit to The Grey Sweater isn't just a dinner; it's an invocation of wonder--a deliberate suspension of reality where food is the narrative, and every bite spins a tale you never thought you'd hear, yet always wanted to. Aptly named, The Grey Sweater sits in that in-between world of boundless possibility, just like its color. No allegiances to tradition or trend, just a devotion to the craft of creating an experience that feels like wearing your heart on your sleeve. For our five-year anniversary, we were whisked into a culinary journey that defies description but demands attention. The reservation itself felt like an invitation to something sacred, heightened by the seamless flow from first contact to the last sip of wine. Ten courses. A gold-level wine pairing. And then--my favorite inquiry of the night: "What kind of journey do you want to enjoy for your special evening?" I chuckled and mumbled something, absurd in hindsight, about surprise, silliness, and stories, not knowing the feast of sensations that awaited us. Michael, the evening's maestro, choreographed the service like a conductor with a silent baton, communicating with his team through Friendly smiles and jovial glances. He was not just the manager or Maitre De' but an embodiment of hospitality itself. Rusty, our server-turned-new-best-friend, enchanted our palates with a smile that indicated the surprises were going to be more surprising than we could fathom. Marco, the sommelier, with a wine palate that should come with a warning label, provided stories of each wine, who made it, how it was made, how it was grown, where the climate affects the minerals. It sounds crazy but the story added an appreciation for each sip and the rarity of the offering. Together, their playful banter and deep knowledge made every course feel like a shared secret. Dillon behind the bar crafted 'bespoke cocktails'--But it wasn't just a drink. It was an awakening of sorts, a sly wink from the gods of flavor. Each dish that followed was more than just food. It was as if time itself had been an ingredient, woven into the slow-building layers of flavor. Precision doesn't do it justice--this was a dance, a carefully timed sequence where the taste evolved mid-bite. There were stories within stories. A simple scallop became a chapter of its own when, in a quiet, almost reverent moment, I saw the chef discard one with a frown, declaring in silence that not even the slightest flaw could pass their watchful eyes. The entire evening felt orchestrated, yet spontaneous. Like a symphony where every instrument knows its role but somehow improvises the perfect harmony. Every plate, every sip, every glance at the chef's counter told its own tale, each one building on the last until we found ourselves laughing in disbelief, wondering "How do they do that?!" This wasn't a meal. It was Fantasia, a marriage of all senses--music in food, art in time, divinity in every bite. It was magic, yes, but more than that--it was the unexplainable turned tangible, an ephemeral masterpiece that you can taste but might never fully understand.

Ask the Community - Grey Sweater

What is the dress code?

Smart casual to evening date night attire. I wouldn't show up in jeans and a t-shirt.

What is the average cost?

We had the 5 plate menu which was just under $90/person. You can order 7 or 10 plate options and the price goes up. We split a bottle of red wine that was around $45 and we each had a bespoke cocktail. All in with gratuity it was around $300.

Is this a gluten free friendly restaurant?

It can be! Since it's a chef's tasting menu, they call you ahead of time to ask if you have any specific dietary needs.

This was the best meal I've had in OKC in a very long time…read more My wife and I did a little date night. The restaurant isn't much to look at from the outside--just a tiny little white and blue building. Sitting right off 10th, parking is tight as well. Inside isn't fancy, but that's my vibe. There is an outdoor patio I didn't get to check out, but the road noise from 10th is pretty noticeable even inside. Overall the atmosphere feels small town coastal, local, and not pretentious, but does suffer slightly from its location. Service was friendly, and paced as expected for fine dining. Honestly, it's refreshing to not feel rushed at a dinner service. We enjoyed our conversation over a bottle off their (small) wine list instead. We ordered the spring pre fix and it was just ALL hits, no misses. I wrinkled my nose at the menu a bit because I don't particularly love fennel or mint or lamb or hell even salmon but I I have been converted. The food was amazing. Perfectly cooked, seasoned, and portioned. The bread...the bread was the best bread starter I've tried. My wife hates oysters and loved the oyster (she tries everything cos she's not a child). The gnocchi was pillowy soft and amazing, not gummy or dense or mushy. The asparagus?! Amaze amaze amaze. 5 perfect courses (6 if you count the 2x different items for the table) for $77 a person?!?! Yes. We're going back asap.

From local food critic Jared Gleaton Eats full critique…read more Atmosphere and Hospitality: The atmosphere at Sedalia's feels less like a polished coastal seafood house and more like the hidden gem tucked behind a bustling boardwalk fishing restaurant--the kind locals quietly point you toward. We were greeted by Silvana, who warmly led us to our table while Becky guided the service throughout the evening. Plates were seamlessly swapped, water glasses never sat empty, and Becky demonstrated an impressive command of the menu and preparations. Throughout the meal, Zack and members of the kitchen team delivered several dishes themselves, describing each course in detail and offering a small but genuine slice of coastal hospitality. Food: Baked oyster, kent blanc, smoked trout roe, chive breadcrumbs ($35 1/2 Dozen) The dinner opens with a borderline transcendent bite of baked oyster, beautifully balanced and cooked to perfection, singing across the palate. A rich beurre blanc pairs seamlessly with the briny oyster while bursts of smoked trout roe punctuate each bite. The breadcrumbs on the back end provide just enough contrast in texture to round out an immaculate first course. Grilled focaccia for the table, salt cod butter, Szechuan oil, lime, chive, pecorino, balsamic ($15) The grilled focaccia is thick, fluffy, and fantastic. Notes of rich, airy bread give way to salty, buttery layers from the cod butter before finishing with subtle hints of char and acidity from the accompaniments. Barramundi tartare, kumquat, masa nachos, serrano & ancho chilies, spinach ($17) An excellent preparation, the tartare rests atop a thick masa nacho. The barramundi is soft yet slightly firm, its delicate flavor profile lifted by bright notes of kumquat and a subtle heat creeping through the back end from the serrano. Beef tongue anticuchos & la huancaína ($20) The tongue is beautifully prepared--tender with just enough structure. The anticuchos seasoning and huancaína sauce add a nutty, earthy depth that bursts across the palate with each bite. Duck confit pecorino crumble, pappardelle, alubia blanca beans, pecorino ($26) An absolutely beautiful layered dish. The rich duck confit is soft and rich with strong initial notes of pecorino giving way to middle notes of duck and end notes of tomato. Though presented in a tomato based pasta the addition of alubia blanca beans creates a creamy texture that surprises the palate, transforming what appears to be a brothy preparation into something far richer and more complex. Crispy fried hake, mojo rojo, aioli, potato ($23) A thoughtful take on fish and chips. The hake is fried perfectly, with an excellent fish-to-batter ratio. The aioli provides a creamy counterpoint while the mojo rojo adds depth and warmth. Grilled tuna collar with beurre blanc sauce (Special) This special was absolutely stunning and one of the finest bites of 2026. The rich, fatty tuna cheek is tempered beautifully by the creamy, tangy beurre blanc and fragrant tarragon. Each element complements the other, creating a layered, indulgent bite that borders on perfection. Potatoes a la huancaína, ají amarillo, sorghum, olive ($14) This course pushes firmly into transcendent territory. The soft layers of potato are draped in an ethereal ají amarillo sauce that delivers gentle heat while coating the palate in luxurious flavor. Each bite teases you into the next. Honey semifreddo, pomegranate molasses, meringue, citrus ($14) A triumphant end to the evening. The honey semifreddo melts effortlessly on the palate, cleansing and refreshing before giving way to the deeper sweetness of pomegranate molasses and delicate notes of meringue and citrus. A beautifully balanced and borderline transcendent finale.
