Perched above Oklahoma City like a temple dedicated to excess and indulgence, Vast delivered a culinary performance so extraordinary that I briefly forgot every other steak I have ever eaten. The evening began with the Porn Star Martini, a dangerously seductive masterpiece that arrived shimmering with confidence. Bright, tropical, and impossibly smooth, it tasted like luxury had decided to become a cocktail. Then came the star of the evening: the 8 oz LINZ Heritage Angus Filet Mignon. To call it tender would be an insult. This steak surrendered to the knife with the resistance of warm butter and practically dissolved upon contact with my tongue. Rich, deeply flavorful, and executed with surgical precision, it was the kind of steak that makes you question every life choice that led you to eat lesser beef. The Vast potatoes were decadence incarnate, creamy, velvety, and unapologetically indulgent, while the asparagus provided the perfect green counterpoint to an otherwise gloriously excessive feast. As if the universe wasn't showing off enough, the meal was accompanied by a glass of Caymus Cabernet Sauvignon. Bold, velvety, and dripping with dark fruit and sophistication, it wrapped itself around every bite of filet like a velvet curtain closing on a Broadway finale. It was our first time to visit Vast. Valet parking is available, and upon entering the Devon Tower, there is a hostess downstairs that will check you in and direct you to the elevators, which take you to the 39th floor. Betsy was our server and did a great job guiding us through the evening. My husband stated that his old fashion drink was one of the better one's that he has ever had. Small bread board was more than enough for the two of us. We split the salad that had a wonderful goat cheese with it. My chicken dish was okay, but disappointed that the mash potatoes weren't hot. My husband's steak was delicious and the scallop that he shared with me was my favorite. Thank you to Vast for the complimentary treat to finish off our meal. We celebrated Christmas with an early dinner at Vast. No matter how many times I've been, the view continues to impress. We were fortunate enough to have Will guide us through the evening and its many wonderful choices. The service was impeccable as always. Count yourself fortunate if Will introduces himself at your table. The food was as delicious to my eyes as it was to my tongue. Even though there were four of us we mostly had the same dishes. We shared the Chef's Cheese and Charcuterie Board as the starter. It was beautifully presented with enough variety to make everyone happy. What made it more disappointing was that we were the first guests seated--there was no reason for the food to arrive cold. My son summed it up simply: overrated. He even said his dad cooks salmon better, and honestly, he wasn't wrong. Another surprising issue: the lunch dress code listed in the email was not enforced at all. It stated business casual, yet several guests were wearing gym shorts, tank tops, flip‑flops, and even pajama pants. It took away from the atmosphere and didn't match the upscale tone Vast tries to present. The one highlight was the view, which truly is stunning. But when it comes to the food, Bricktown Brewery delivers far more flavor and consistency. Their chicken enchiladas and salmon outshine Vast by a mile. All in all the food was really flavorful and good. WOW - just WOW! What a beautiful location and view! (Especially since we watched a thunderstorm in the distance from the GREAT ALTITUDE at the TOP of the building!) He truly listened to our questions and made suggestions. He even hand-crafted my favorite cocktail when I told him about it - and gave me the recipe he actually created at the end of dinner. Our food was delicious - but I must say the menu was a tad deceiving. We had thought the butternut squash pepper steak would actually be meat - but it turns out the butternut squash - cooked to perfection and topped with a delicious peppercorn sauce - was the "steak!" As you'll see in the photos, our children made much better meal selections! I've been to Vast twice. The first time was during Covid, but I wasn't leaving many reviews back then. We went back yesterday. Five years later, my opinion stays the same: Vast is a nice restaurant where you won't regret eating, but it's not necessarily the kind of place I would go out of my way to eat at. The view is one of a kind, at least in OKC. Vast is located on the 49th floor of the Devon Tower, the tallest building in Oklahoma. We were lucky enough to have a table next to the window, offering a spectacular view of OKC. The service was great. Upon entering the building, a hostess greeted us, confirmed our reservation, and sent us to the elevators with instructions to head to the 49th floor. After we exited the elevator, another host seated us immediately. The waiter then promptly walked us through the menu and took our drink orders. I ordered their Seasonal Old Fashioned. Supposedly it had some black walnut and other flavoring, but it tasted virtually identical to any other Old Fashioned. My wife had the Angostura Sun Shower, a tequila/mezcal cocktail with amaretto, pineapple, and lime. Her drink was a little more creative, but still not particularly impressive. We had the whipped bone marrow with grilled sourdough as an appetizer. The flavor was there, but I will say that the sourdough was a little greasy. If the idea is to put bone marrow on it, the bread probably doesn't need any oil (or whatever it was) when it hits the grill. We then split the bouchon salad, which comes with vinaigrette, goat cheese, bacon, and candied walnut. This was a really delicious dish. The goat cheese was especially tasty. If you want a salad before your entree, I'd recommend the bouchon. For my entree, I had the crispy skin Scottish salmon. The salmon was great. I love when salmon has a real crispy skin, and Vast delivered. The salmon was perfectly cooked. However, the creamed spinach and corn was somewhat generic. Good, but not great. For dessert we had the crème brûlée. I've had crème brûlée at quite a few upscale restaurants, and I'd rank Vast's as solidly in the middle. It was crisped nicely, but the texture was just slightly off. Not fully curdled, but the execution took a step in that direction. Anyway, it was good enough that we still ate most of it. In sum, if you're in the mood for a visual, almost touristy-type experience, Vast fits the bill. And the food isn't bad either, nor is the service. But if you're more focused on the meal itself, there are better downtown options. read more

Last fall my now husband and I went for lunch while a close family member was on hospice and just a lot of chaos going on. Unbeknownst to me he did it to propose! Weeks early he had asked that family member for my hand in marriage. It was one of the most beautiful and sentimental things ever. The food was absolutely incredible - the lunch was amazing. I accept all brunch, lunch and dinner dates! The Vast was easy to find just the parking situation downtown is a thing. I didn't see anyone out for the valet so there's that but I still saw fit to give them five stars. Why????? Well, it's the food of course and boy was it delicious I had salmon, chicken, steak, potatoes, glazed carrots, cream brûlée, mango cheesecake and yup salad. We were excited for a Friday lunch with a stunning view--and that was the highlight of our visit. Unfortunately, the rest of the experience didn't live up to expectations. Despite having a confirmed reservation, the restaurant had no record of it when we arrived. We were eventually seated, but with no apology or explanation other than "there was a miscommunication". Because our group had nine people, they required us to book a private room. We were given a per-person total ahead of time, supposedly including tax, but when the bill came, the math didn't add up. Normally, the Friday lunch buffet is $27.50 per person, but we were charged $35 each, plus a hefty 24% service charge that covered gratuity, but not tax. We were also promised a personal chef, but ended up with a single server and a long, inconvenient walk--at least five minutes each way--to the buffet. As for the food, the steak was overcooked and full of gristle, and the salmon was dry. The desserts were genuinely excellent, but when you're paying close to $45 per person, great dessert isn't enough to justify the price. We wanted this to be a memorable outing for the right reasons, but sadly, it fell short on almost every count--except the view. read more

This New American fine dining & cocktail restaurant is located on the 49th floor of the Devon Tower and provides crazy good skyline views. The food was just as good as the panoramic view and everything came out perfectly. You know how you receive complimentary bread? I told them I was gluten free and they baked a fresh batch and brought it out still warm from the oven. The service could have been improved. We got there at the beginning of dinner and it took 27 minutes for us to receive our drinks after placing the order. The entree took a while as well. So, my family and I rode on the Bricktown Water Taxi, and the tour guide mentioned the famous restaurant, Vast, located in the Devon Tower. She had informed us about the amazing lunch buffet. On a Tuesday, we had to try it out! We booked reservations for Vast, lunch, at around 11:30. Vast is located atop the Devon tower, on the 49th floor. Devon Tower is the tallest building in the state of Oklahoma! There are some amazing, breathtaking views at Vast. We were sitting at a table that overlooked the entire Oklahoma City! It was stunning! Vast provides a panoramic view of the entire city. Depending on where you sit, you'll be able to view different areas of Oklahoma City! Our view was over Bricktown and the ball field. The restaurant's ambiance was elegant and charming. It really felt like we were immersed in a completely unique dining experience. The buffet was situated in a different section of the restaurant, isolated from the dining tables. There was a relatively long line for the food as there was a special holiday event being hosted, but it did move quickly! The buffet consisted of some of the following dishes: Cauliflower Apple Soup Quinoa Fruit Salad with Coconut Lime Dressing Salad Bar Hummus Fruit and Artisan Cheese Ham Chicken Breast Corned Hash Sweet Potato Assorted Mini Desserts Current costs: $25.50 per person $12.75 for children 12 and under Includes unlimited house-made desserts with a weekly new menu offering, available only Monday - Friday. This was my favorite dining experience while visiting Oklahoma City with the family. The service was outstanding! The team member who was assisting our table provided us with insights into activities and events to do while visiting Oklahoma City. He followed up with our table often, refilling our waters and sodas! The food was so flavorful and scrumptious! My favorites were the meats and desserts. The ham was packed with yummy flavors, and it wasn't too sweet. It was also juicy and not overcooked! The chicken was tender and was seasoned well with a salt/pepper rub. I don't typically eat corned beef hash, but that was good as well. It had a mixture of a slightly salty and sour taste to it. The desserts were out of this world! The crème brulee was the best dish of the evening. It had a well-balanced, sweet and tangy flavor. The caramel topping and slightly burnt sugar gave it a nice crunch! Vast also had this cranberry bar dessert, which surprised me! It had a graham cracker taste, and the cranberry spread wasn't overpowering either! All of their desserts were wonderful! We made our reservation at Vast to celebrate an important milestone--paying off our home. We were excited for the evening, dressed up for the occasion, and looking forward to enjoying the beautiful views and highly recommended menu. Our plan was to each order appetizers, desserts, and drinks, as we were particularly interested in the unique appetizer selections. At no point during the reservation process were we informed that we would be required to order full entrées to be treated with courtesy or to remain at our table. Unfortunately, our experience with our server was extremely disappointing. We were told that if we only planned to order appetizers and drinks, we would need to be moved to a different table. She then left to speak with the chef and returned to say we could remain at our table--but only for 30 minutes. At that point, the tone had been set, and we no longer felt welcome. Throughout the interaction, the server was noticeably rude. She did not explain the menu items or make any effort to enhance our experience. When we inquired about the observation area, another staff member told us about it, but our server dismissed it, saying the view from our table was "just as good" and we didn't need to go. Ultimately, we asked for the check, paid, and left--before our car had even been checked in by valet. The evening we had looked forward to became one of the most unwelcoming dining experiences we've ever had. To be clear, we still intended to tip as if we were ordering full meals, as we value good service regardless of the size of the order. Additionally, when our reservation was confirmed by phone, we were reassured that ordering from the standard menu was completely fine and that there was no minimum requirement. We're disappointed not only in the lack of communication but in the way we were treated. We hope you'll take this feedback seriously and ensure that future guests are welcomed with the hospitality expected from a restaurant of Vast's reputation. read more
