Our server Abby and the rest of the staff were very friendly and efficient. The interior was simple but elegant with small tables bordering the windows. We each had the heirloom tomato gazpacho soup and split the bread and tallow; the kitchen was kind enough to split our entree of the Dijon Herb Seared wild caught Alaskan sockeye salmon complimented with a house-made dijon, lemon caper beurre blanc, and herbs served with garlic farro risotto, and a corn succotash made with roasted poblanos, garlic, bell peppers, zucchini, summer squash cream. We split the Peaches and Cream; house-made vanilla ice cream and from scratch seasonal peach cobbler served in a cast iron with oatmeal crisp and toasted pecans. the Peach Lemongrass Old Fashioned made with house-made peach syrup, angostura bitters, lemon oils, and peach lemongrass aromatics stirred and served over a large format ice cube. read more

The soup was just ok but the cajun steak was outstanding as was the rice. The peach and ice cream deserts were the best. The lady who took care of us was great. Amazing! True farm to table but make it fancy! The setting is uniquely Oklahoma; next to actual silos and inside an old feed store next to the railroad tracks! If you are lucky, there will be a pretty sunset, but the star here is the food. Please enjoy the seeded bread and tallow. Who knew? The menu covered all the bases. We were a table of 5 and everyone enjoyed a different dish. All standouts. Beef, fish, chicken and pork, we could have licked the plate! Came here for a work dinner tonight and had a phenomenal experience! The staff, ambiance, service, and food quality were all perfect. I was trying to find the menu before my visit, but to my pleasant surprise, it was changed out for summer and included some vegetarian-friendly options that I didn't see in previous menus. Once my guest arrived, we started off with mocktails (we were able to customize some of the drink specials without alcohol). I tried the watermelon spritz which was refreshing and flavorful. We split a bread dish that came with whipped tallow, but the whipped tallow was carefully spread on one side of the dish only so I was still able to sample the delicious, warm in-house baked seed bread. For my entree, I went for the vegetable polenta with vegan glaze and cashew cream, topped with roasted vegetables. The portion size was just right, and the cashew cream elevated the polenta flavor to an unimaginable level. We didn't order dessert, but we were given one lemon scone each as a treat on the house. They also sell the lemon scones pre-packaged to-go! Bill came out to be ~$60 per person with tip. It's definitely a great place to take out friends, family, a date, or dine for business. With a seasonally-changing menu, there's always something for the Edmond/OKC locals to look forward to. My husband and I came here for an early Valentine's Day dinner. I love the concept of the farm to table created here by the executive chef and pastry chef, who are husband and wife. You can tell they really care about the business and have a passion for serving delicious food. The service here was so great. We were greeted by a friendly hostess, then taken to our table. There was a guy walking around offering people coffee. Our waiter, Jarrick, was so good at describing the menu. I wanted to order everything he recommended. The bread & tallow was a solid starter option. We both loved our entrees, pasta au poivre and shrimp risotto. Updating my review. My first experience was exceptional. The food was small, but the portions were still fair and we had an amazing experience. I invited friends to join us this time for a special date night out since, they have littles like we do and we both needed a night out. We ordered the strip steak, 2 orders of the who shot the deer, Cornish hen, a few mocktails, and a glass of wine. We also ordered the pumpkin crème brûlée and orange chai cake dessert. The food was decent everything wasn't bad, but nowhere near as good as our first time. The deer especially was overpriced for such a tiny portion. I'll say the food was good excluding the pumpkin drink and my orange chai cake. The Cornish hen was a bit too dry for my liking, and my steak wasn't like exceptional. I've had better quality steak at other high end steak restaurants in the metro. The guys enjoyed their deer, but it was just so small. I can understand the meat portion being small, but why not give us more potatoes or sides in general. I think they should increase their serving size by even a little bit, because this isn't French fair or a super high end restaurant such as nonesuch. My friends and I don't mind spending $$$$ for good food, because we do all the time. However, last night definitely felt like we didn't get what we paid for. Maybe I'll come back in another year, and see if things have changed, but for now I'll go elsewhere. Paying $$$ for a snack isn't really my style. Almost forgot. I had reservations, and when asked to sit elsewhere our hostess said that there were not other spots available to seat us when there was a booth in the corner that was never occupied during our dining experience. We were seated right in the front next to the entrance door by a huge glass window that just felt exposed and uncomfortable. The chairs were hard, and I was just uncomfortable sitting there the whole entire night. Not saying I had a bad experience, just a weird experience. If we had reservations, why are we being seated in the crappiest area of the restaurant especially when there was another option for seating? Anyways, we won't be back for awhile. Perfect portions, love the message/vision of this place, Farm to table is the future and I actively seek places like this out. I was hugely impressed by this little gem of a place. First off, the plating was INCREDIBLE. Flavors were perfectly balanced. Options were diverse. Salmon was cooked perfectly, but the duck was unfortunate mushy and over cooked or maybe just defrosted too quickly. I have never had duck breast so mushy before, but the flavors and textures of the rest of the dish made up for it. I hope Chef reads this and reduces the cook-time or defrost time, not sure what the issue was but as a duck-enthusiast I was disappointed. I've always had and personally prepared duck breast with the skin-on and cooked to a medium-rare. The duck had the taste and texture of liver/pâté, so much so my husband wasn't convinced it wasn't liver. I love liver, so I ate every bite nonetheless, and everything else was cooked to perfection. I came here with a friend for an early dinner around 4:30 p.m. yesterday before the Winter Storm hit --Thursday evening -- and we both had such an amazing time! Amazing food, exceptional service, and delicious drinks! Owned by two brothers, Chef Payne Mills and Sommelier Cy Mills, Farmers Grain Kitchen + Cellar sources all food locally and the dishes are truly unique. My friend and I shared four different meals- an appetizer, 2 main courses, and a dessert. We also ordered two drinks each: a cocktail and wine. LOCATION & PARKING: This spot is located off 1st Street in Downtown Edmond by the Edmond Railyard, I like that it is separate from the other busy streets, and at the time and day that we made reservations at, luckily we were able to secure prime parking in front of the restaurant. SERVICE: Staff was super friendly and co-owner Cy Mills even came and asked us how we were doing and how the food + drinks were. Always down to support local and enjoy quality food! AMBIENCE: A little modern rustic feel...decorated appropriately for the season with small little charcuterie paddles at each table with candles, and large ornaments throughout the interior. FOOD: *White Bean Cassoulet* This bowl of soup had chicken, sausage, and gremolata, with an artistic lattice strewn across the bowl. This "From the pot" category of dish was comforting and perfect to eat to warm up in this cold weather. I liked that it wasn't too heavy, and had a nice broth to it. *Sweet Potato Gnudi* I had to look up what "gnudi" was, and saw that it was basically a version of gnocchi, which I love so much! This dish did not disappoint with the sweet potato, potato lattice strewn across the top- unique artistic display, again, tofu cheese, and spiced fried chickpeas on the side. The portions are not huge, but they definitely satisfied us and made the experience even more fulfilling because we were able to try and enjoy several dishes. *Chicken & Squash Pasta* 3 large raviolis that we shared, tossed in a brown butter & sage sauce with pine nuts. This was our favorite dish of the night! *Eclair* This dessert was an eclair paired with an orange sauce and filled with a chocolate mousse. It was so delicious and the co-owner told us it was his favorite, but underrated! So here is my personal recommendation to give this one a try. The eclair is big enough to share between 2. It was the perfect ending to our early night. DRINKS: I tried a Pinot Noir and a drink on the Seasonal Cocktail menu: "The Cafe Belloy" that was on the menu. The food is good! But they charge you extra for sharing your steak! They divided the meal... which we did not ask them to do. The steak was suppose to be medium rare and came out barely meduim! Also the steak came out sliced extremely thin and only for 4 pieces per plate. I would have to say it was a total of a half of a filet of steak between the both of us for the price of $48 +$4 for sharing! The tallow and bread appetizer was $16! Tasty again! But for half a loaf of bread and tallow is steep! When asked if we wanted more bread and we said "yes please" and we get the bill we were charged another $4 dollars ...that now is $20 for bread and tallow! That is why over priced! This is my new favorite date night spot. Dined here last weekend & it was phenomenal. Everyone on the staff was friendly & answered all questions. The owner and chef even came out and greeted every guest & asked how it was. He was very nice and explained how him and his wife have their own farm. His wife is the pastry chef. The food was FANTASTIC. Everything is farm-to-table, almost everything made from scratch. And you could tell! We had 2 appetizers - the "Bread + Tallow" and the "Too Much Potato". Both were delicious, but Too Much Potato was my favorite. A potato 3 ways, who wouldn't love that? For entrees I got the Crispy Polenta Cakes w meatballs and my friend got the NY Prime Strip. Both were amazing. I had one of their cocktails and it was great. They change their menu about every 3 months (they keep some items the same) so you will always have something new to try. 5*** all the way... food, service, and ambiance. We started with the Too Much Potato which was not too much! It was potatoes 3 ways and absolutely delicious. I loved that the waiter described the dish in detail. For mains we had Steak Diane and Prime Strip. My boyfriend had Steak Diane and if you love mushrooms this is a must (3-4 diff kinds) with risotto and perfectly cooked steak. My Prime Strip was cooked perfectly a top mashed potatoes and the best cooked carrots I've ever had. No dessert but there were complimentary little cookies from the chef baker. To add to the amazing food, the service is incredible. The waiter knew the menu in depth and when mains came out told us where all food was sourced from. My wife did a Google search and this restaurant came up. What a find. It was a special night and this place ended up being the perfect way to celebrate my step son's accomplishment. We started off with the Bread + Talo ($16). It was amazing. The bread is so good. We ordered the Bread + Talo and then ordered an additional side of bread to go with it. That was perfect. For the main course we ordered the Grilled Salmon Filet ($32), Duck Breast ($38), Linguini Vongole ($32), and the Prime Strip ($42). Everything was really good, had great flavor, and was presented very authentically. For desert, we ordered Watermelon Sorbet ($16) and Banana Split Torte ($16). The Watermelon Sorbet is worth it alone just for the presentation. Really cool. The Torte was very moist and great flavor with that subtle hint of banana. I don't even like bananas but I liked this. That tells you how good it was. Lastly I have to comment about the service and presentation of the food. It's very obvious this place cares about making sure you have a great experience. They take the time if you want to hear it to tell you not only their story but what went in to each dish you ordered. Obviously no one does that anymore. I think it speaks to the passion and purpose they put in to preparing and presenting the food. This place has a good atmosphere. Lastly the co-owner and head chef himself, Payne Mills, came out. This is a local deal through and through. He and his wife Rachel are in the kitchen making it happen while his brother and co-owner Cy is a sommelier. They want the type of experience like you find overseas where you spend a couple hours having a nice dinner and meaningful conversations. We shared an order of the meatballs for an appetizer with fresh crostini, which was amazing! Then we both got the strip steak with potato puree and roasted carrots. Perfectly cooked, very tender, and the potatoes were so buttery and delicious. My only regret is that I couldn't eat more while I was there! We will most definitely be back. When my friend said "hey, let's try Farmer's Grain" I admit I was not expecting much. Recommended by a friend via word of mouth, we ventured to the unassuming location just a smidge West of Downtown Edmond's Railyard area. The street parking is limited, the gravel lot on the East side feels quaint and industrial at the same time. Unfortunately for us, all the reservation times were taken when had made the decision to go, but we wanted to take our chances. After arriving we were lucky enough to grab two seats at the bar. The small dining room evokes a cozy yet sophisticated vibe. Bartender Maddie made an incredible drink that was both beautiful and delicious. Of note, the menu changes often. What we enjoyed may or may not be on the menu next time. But, every single bite was phenomenal. We shared the beet and burrata salad and tasted each other's entrees. My short rub stroganoff was beyond compare to the last attempt at a stroganoff I had for lunch at a midtown pub. Her shrimp and grits, divine. We finished the meal off with the banana muffin. While the name and self-explanatory description doesn't do it justice, the culinary experience continued from dinner to the dessert course. Absolutely amazing. Every bite was flavorful and indulgent. We started with two apps. The pear and mushroom soup was rich and delicious with a slight kick from the chili oil. The pear was very subtle and added a nice contrast in texture. The bread and tallow were INCREDIBLE, though. Definitely my second favorite dish. The tallow was just melt-in-your-mouth perfection. Get it!!!! For the main course we had the duck and the stroganoff. The duck was perfect. Just perfect. I could've eaten three plates of that duck. I cannot wait to go back for that duck.
