Our first time, yesterday afternoon (6-26-26), at The Winston in beautiful Edmond, Oklahoma! Great atmosphere; loved the vibrant green back bar, and selection of bourbons. Our server, London, was fantastic! We enjoyed several Happy Hour "Old Spiced" Old Fashioned cocktails, Margaritas and a "Sacred Smoked Rita" shaken with an Espadín Mezcal. We used to really like this place. Decor is really nice. Paid 38.00 for a 4 ounce filet (it was small) and it had clearly been sitting in water kind of tasteless but cooked to the right temp. Broccoli was undercooked and in water and chili oil... so eh. Menu said loaded smashed potatoes. Got a clump of fried potatoes. Our tab with tip was 80. (Only drank water) and not worth it. They need to decide if it's a sports bar with loud music and lots of tvs or a nice restaurant. Staff was friendly, but acted like they were bored. My husband's hamburger was good. But the bottom bun was dried out and he couldn't eat that part. Hope they decide quick yo land on good food and ambience or bar food and bar atmosphere. read more

The apps here are by far my favorite menu items. The crab dip is a must, the ceviche is always fresh, app tacos are delicious. Service is great and management is seeing that everyone leaves happy. A great vibe for all occasions... just to meet up for drinks, date night, or family brunch! read more

Here are some notable dishes/drinks we tried and my honest opinions on each Whiskey Flight - rotates whiskeys every Wednesday. We enjoyed 2/3 whiskeys in this week's flight Parmesan Truffle Crispy Potatoes - like potato chips. I'm not a huge fan of truffle but they weren't too bad (light truffle flavor) Artisan Baked Bread - SOME OF THE BEST BREAD IVE EVER HAD! Really delicious and consistent food- a great place to take a group because everyone can find something they like! Their new menu this fall is delicious- especially the potatoes with truffle Parmesan! So crisp cheesy and delicious! The salmon was prefect cooked. If you've never had cacio Pepe- it's basically a parmesan pasta- simple but delicious especially with the bucatini noodle with has a nice texture. Had an okay time here, nothing to rave about in my opinion. They have an interesting menu with some fusion inspired dishes. The best dish we ordered was the tuna tartar. The buffalo wontons were pretty good. I ordered the chicken parmesan with sweet potatoes. The portions were a lot smaller than I expected. My dish was a little salty for me. The sweet potato with red sauce was an interesting take but one that didn't impress me. The Winston had good service and good atmosphere. The food was just not for me. read more

Our second time around. The inside, nice and cozy. The service was great again, prompt, attentive, and ensured we got our food. They offered a new entree, French toast, with strawberries, blueberries, creme brûlée and soft butter. The only gripe I have is their bourbon syrup was nowhere to be found, hope they bring it back. The buffalo wontons and shrimp tacos are the only 2 food items I've tried and they are small but delicious. Service is top notch. They make it a point to ask and remember your name. We've been here twice now and it was definitely better the second time. We started with the crab dip and it was amazing! The weather was a bit cold so it was the perfect comfort app for us that day. It was so flavorful and filling. My husband ordered the chicken Parmesan and it was SO good! The chicken was so tender and everything tasted very homely. The only thing we didn't care for was the shredded sweet potato. I ordered the seared ahi tuna mazesoba and O M G it was incredible! I was not expecting to like it as much as I did. The flavor and texture of the noodles was amazing! Honestly the tuna took a back seat in this dish but it was cooked very well also. This dish is packed with flavor, it's a must try at this place! I also always get their blueberry sage lemonade (not pictured) which tastes so delicious! The service is always top notch at the Winston. They're always engaging, playful with our son, and attentive. I've been here a few times over the past two weeks and have enjoyed the food and service! If you're sitting at the bar, service is much quicker than if you were to sit at a table or a booth I've noticed. This family-friendly spot is always packed and seems to be swarming with people who live in nearby neighborhoods. The happy hour specials are worth coming for (3-6 pm) and I also love the Winston Churchill theme - lots of globes, books, the color green, and abstract art decor. Food: *Buffalo Chicken Wontons* This appetizer is tasty and the right amount of kick from the buffalo sauce, but I thought it was a little odd that there are chopped carrots mixed in - I couldn't really taste the carrots, but it was nevertheless delicious and came with ranch/blue cheese dipping sauces. *Vegetarian Nachos* Can't go wrong with nachos! Nothing bad to say here. Pretty crunchy considering there are beans and cheese on top - came in piping hot with a cheese pull when you bite into it. Great flavoring - probably even more flavoring if you were to order the spicy chicken nachos *Shrimp Tacos* this app comes with only 2 tacos, but it's tasty..love it and the shrimp is filling. *Drunken Tuna Ceviche* the tuna was fresh, and the avocado was ripe, great flavoring from the Dos Equis/lime marinade served with tortilla chips. This appetizer is HUGE! 2 or more can share this. *Chicken Parmesan* the chicken was phenomenal, but we were not expecting the noodles to be sweet potato! The sauce was great - went well with the grilled garlic bread that came with this dish. We wish there were actual pasta but get it that they're trying to push the sweet potato theme (I guess The Winston is huge into sweet potatoes? - the server mentioned that for dessert they have a sweet potato cheesecake!) Drinks: *Kiss from a Rose* officially my favorite Gin drink at the Winston! This is pretty sweet though - makes me have a headache after a while if I'm not drinking enough water. If you get this drink, be sure to stay hydrated! *Bee's Knees* this is kind of similar to the Kiss from a Rose drink because of the gin, but SWEETER because of the honey- I only tried a sample of this and opted out Overall, the experience at Winston is one-of-a-kind. Another Hal Smith restaurant does it again! They knocked it out of the park with good food, friendly service, and decent prices for the quality! I tried their special of the day which was a salmon BLT on ciabatta bread served with fries. It was good and only $15. I look forward to returning to try something off their main menu. read more

Love, love, love this spot. A cute cozy bar off May and 178th in Edmond. They have an outside patio which looks inviting bits it's 3pm and hot. Once you enter establishment a host greets you and the space is quaint but open and has a beautiful esthetic. Cocktails are plentiful and all look delicious. The appetizers were just has great. A solid place to grab lunch! Looks like an awesome place to get together after a busy work day. I took time out of my day and met my wife for lunch. This was the first time for both of us and I think we came away pleasantly surprised! We had a terrific server (Jessica B) gave us a great suggestion for an appetizer! I would like to agree with her choice - the Cheesy Crab Dip. I do highly recommend if you like crab! She also suggested chips to go with grilled bread! Several options to choose from but I selected the special of the day - BBQ Chicken Sandwich. Great choice. My wife selected the American Burgers - if you're in for a basic burger that would be the one for you! The manager (Alex) stopped by to see how everything was, told her we were first timers. We chatted for a short while and welcomed us back again. The are few things I want to try, the first being Brunch on the weekends, and I'm back for the appetizers! My husband and I tried The Winston on a whim, and and I cannot say enough good things about it. I ordered the chicken parm, and the waiter - JB - warned me that the sauce had a little of a kick to it. I've recently become completely unable to handle spice, so I'm glad he did that. The chicken parm was great: moist, tender; and the "zoodles" were absolutely delicious. My goofy husband ordered off the brunch menu with only 2 minutes remaining, and they were out of the thing he ordered (that's what you get, silly husband!). So he ordered the pork shoulder dinner, and he loved that too. Our waiter was fantastic: on it, kept our drinks full, knew what to recommend, kind. The atmosphere was super jazzy - that's how I would describe it. Green lit, fun decor, comfy chairs. 10/10 - you should try this place. read more

We've been twice to the Edmond location. They did a wonderful job designing this spot to feel cozy and modern. It's a great gastropub atmosphere. They have a great patio equipped with TVs and nice wind shields for the OK wind. Of all of the dishes we've had here, we enjoyed the buffalo chicken wontons appetizer the most. Those are a 5/5 slam dunk. I've had two different burgers here. The American burger was very good. It had a great balance of flavors, nice crunch from the lettuce, it was a very classic burger and was cooked as ordered, a beautiful medium rare. The second time I returned and ordered a medium rare truffle shuffle burger, it was way overcooked, no where near medium rare. I can't enjoy any burger cooked to death and boy this one was. Both the parm truffle fries and the sweet potato fries are very good. The seared ahi mazesoba dish was really enjoyable and certainly one of the better choices dishes we've had here. The tuna was fresh and dish was tasty. The spiraled veggie zoodles (with a substitution of a drizzle of oil in place of the marinara) was the opposite of enjoyable. My dining partner is sensitive to red sauce and asked if they could maybe just sprinkle a little olive oil or truffle oil in substitution for the marinara sauce. They were able to accommodate, but absolutely drowned the zoodles in oil; the execution is what killed this dish. Just a sprinkle of oil would have been great, or perhaps a side of oil to be added by the diner at the table, would have completely improved this dish. Sadly, it was an oily mess and not anywhere near enjoyable. The challenges we experienced here are all fixable and we the draw of the beautiful space will bring us here again. This is the perfect place for happy hour, because the drinks are delicious and the food is even better. My friends and I ordered several different options and then chose to share, I think this is the best way, so you can try more items. Everything we ordered, we loved. The flavors are so good in all of the food. I really love the honey drizzle on the fries. It makes it more of a sweet and savory dish. The drinks are delicious. I ordered the frozen watermelon Fresca first, but the ginger was too overpowering for me, so I was able to change to the sangria spritz, and it was so refreshingly delicious. Our water was so nice and knowledgeable about the menu. I love it when I can ask for advice on menu choices and they give their honest opinion. We sat indoors, but if you prefer outdoor seating, this is the perfect place to go because they have a covered outdoor patio, perfect for summer. read more

I had such a spectacular Truffle Shuffle Burger, my husband had the half grilled chicken sandwich and tomato soup (the soup tasted homemade) and our daughter order the Chili-Lime Chicken Salad. Just ordered this to go. It's disgusting :( It's a chicken fried steak sandwich and it's so dry and the bun is so soggy and the cheese looks like plastic. The sweet potato cheesecake is not good it tastes very artificial and tastes nothing like sweet potato. So disappointing. read more

The portion was perfect and super filling. I also tried the "Chip-otle Off the Old Block" cocktail, and wow--blanco tequila, pineapple rum, chipotle pineapple syrup, lime, and a tajin rim--it was fabulous. The staff was friendly and attentive, and served our food promptly. Our table enjoyed a variety of dishes including stacked enchiladas, pork shoulder, chicken Parmesan, and carnitas tacos. The pork shoulder and stacked enchiladas stood out as favorites among us. Winston is a cool kind of vibe focused restaurant that north west Edmond desperately needs. Our waiter gave us some complimentary crab dip for our first time at the establishment and wow was that a nice touch. I had the Roasted Pork Shoulder and it was delectable. The pork itself was fairly standard, but the onion compote covering the pork had so much flavor that I had to try to get a bite of only pork...ya know...for science. Wait staff was friendly and helping each other out on serving and clearing tables. It can get a little loud if you are a larger party and trying to visit. Here the Hal Smith folks are meeting a need of the community in Biden's economy - inexpensive well-made drinks - with the best happy hour in the metro. Inside you'll find lively atmosphere, lovely ambiance, with a long bar full of smiling happy people enjoying their cocktails. Plus a busy patio. My Thai ginger-based drink with the weird name was just fabulous. In fact, one of the better cocktails I've had in recent memory. My hubby's gin-based drink was basic but refreshing. Both under 5 bucks at happy hour. As for food I had only a snack this time. Their battered fries were crispy but the grated parmesan didn't stick to them well enough, and the portion was too small. I took a star off because they could do better. Servers were very attentive and friendly. Overall, so far I like the place for drinks. Though they should add some food specials too.
