Decided to check this place out for a date night after seeing all the awesome reviews on here. Boy we're we not disappointed not one bit. You walk into an old house not knowing what to expect and your immediately taken into a place where you feel like you should hear soccer fans yelling for there favorite team at the top of their lungs. And greated at the bar with thee best customer service at a bar ever. The guy explained everything in detail and was super kind. The bar menu was insane insane, please do check it out. The only minus was that we went on the first day of their new menu which wasn't all that extensive beyond their fantastic chips and queso. Oh yah and make sure you go out to the back patio and stay awhile you'll be glad you did!

Amazing vibes and great times with friends. Must try at least one of the seasonal drafts. Shoutout to Aiden!

I'm gonna go on the record right off the bat - The Patriarch is our hang. We're both 50 years old and my wife and I have going there for a few years now. It's the best place to just hang out in Edmond. I'm gonna break this down in categories and get a little wordy because, unlike most subjects, I have a strong opinion here. Atmosphere: They have several large picnic tables in the back yard. Some under the sky and many are under a large pergola. Small stage in the corner of the yard for the live music they have 3-6 nights per week. Also outside are three cornhole courts(?). Not being much of an athlete I don't play but if you're into sports the bean bags appear to be top notch. During the winter they have two large fire pits. Sitting around the fire is, in my opinion, the best experience at The Patriarch. It is never too cold for my wife and I to huddle around the fire in winter. If the weather keeps you indoors, the bar is in a century old two story house. There are a number of places to hang out in the house and enjoy the beer and food. Beer: They have around 45 rotating beers on tap at all times and the staff seems to know everything about every beer. They are happy to give free samples so that you know you'll enjoy your beer before you commit. The beers are numbered 1 thru 45 with the lower numbers indicating lighter beers and the higher numbers going with darker beers. My comfort zone is in the mid to upper twenties while my wife is solidly in the forties. Who knew? We've been to beer joints in other states and other countries and they do not compare to the selection and staff expertise at The Patriarch. Food: You order food inside and it is prepared in a building in the back yard. The food is fantastic! As a person who resists and fears change I settled on the fries years ago. They're sublime. So crispy and there are about five hundred of them in an order. I like mine with a side of ranch. But as an Oklahoman that should come as no surprise. We're loners so we like to get there when nobody else is around. On most evenings the place is full without feeling crowded. When the weather is awesome the place is packed and it's a full on party. Dogs: I'm a cat person and have never understood the attraction of dogs. We've considered bringing our cat, LaMarcus (see attached pic) but he's not wild about putting on a leash. The Patriarch is dog friendly.

Such a great spot in a beautiful old Victorian house with a wide selection of beers on tap as well as whiskies and mixed drinks. I'm an IPA fan and there is always a wide selection. There is also a good selection of Oklahoma brewed beers. The have a short, but diverse bar menu. It's never left me disappointed. If you're Irish or wish you were, a number of musicians show up Monday nights and fill the place with Irish folk music. If you are looking for a quieter spot to visit, the upstairs has a few rooms to drink and chill. Outside you will find several tables, yard games and nice fire pits, and when the weather is nice, live music on select nights.

I can't say enough about the atmosphere of this place. I can't wait to spend more time here and maybe come in the fall. We visited from Kansas City and I wish we had a place like this! The craft beer selection was great, the old house was fun to explore a little, the outside yard space was amazing. This was the last stop on our adventure through OKC breweries and tap houses and it was by far our favorite stop of the day!

Love the huge selection of beer they have. They've got a selection that makes any craft beer enthusiast excited and cocktails for those that aren't quite as into beer. For those who are into beer, check-out their social media for news about tap takeovers and pint nights. The outdoor space is really great with fire pits and cornhole. It's a great space to bring a group of friends. Lots of seating, rooms, and board games to keep you entertained.

I like the vibe of the place because it's an old house and they have completely revamped it to a modern hang out.

OKC is home to some truly fantastic breweries but Battered Boar seems to fly under the radar. I only found out about them when they opened just down the road from me, so I had to try them out. The first trip was odd, since they are so different from any other brewery/taphouse I've visited. First, the place is very small, dark and eccentrically decorated with some pretty cool stuff. They have the usual colorful board menu describing all of their beers but you have to look at the tiny whiteboard on the counter to see what they actually have on that day, and it's usually a fraction of what is on the wall. One of the things I don't like is their presentation of the beers. They seem to have a rehearsed spiel they go thru to describe the beers and although they are descriptive, as a beer enthusiast I like a more detailed description I can relate to standard beer styles. But, this is where Battered Boar really stands out, because most of their beers are unique and don't seem to fit into traditional beer categories. I'm not a big fan of all of their beers, but they are extremely creative and all of the beers are very well executed. Their brewers really have their craft honed to perfection. This is some of the smoothest and most flavorful beer I've had and there is zero evidence of any "off-flavors" present. They also have some really cool water chemistry going in that greatly impact the experience of their beers. My favorite beer in their lineup is the Lime Salten. Very bizarre at first, but quickly addictive. Their coconut cream stout is also amazing. For beer lovers, I can highly recommend Battered Boar Brewery. Don't go there and expect to find the latest IPA, Pilsner or Brown Ale. Battered Boar's beers don't really fall into those categories and are so unique. I would love to read an in-depth article on their brewing techniques, ingredients and equipment!

They had two fans going instead. The seating was not comfortable and it was kind of a weird set up. They only had 4-5 of their beers available when we went in. You order and then wait awhile for someone to bring it from a back room you can't see. It was the longest I've waited for a beer at any brewery I've been to anywhere in the US. The staff were friendly. I tried the lime sultan and it was like drinking salt. I wouldn't recommend. My friend had one of their fruity beers which wasn't bad. I would not go back. Hope their set up gets better. They said they had moved there the first of the year and it is now August.

Gage, our waiter was very professional and helpful. He guided us through the menu and helped us make good choices. We started with three mule cocktails. We had the Oaxacan, the Moscow and Kentucky Mules. Everyone enjoyed the cocktails. One thing that stood out to me for my Oaxacan Mule is that the Mezcal's smoky flavor really shown through and it was not overly sweet. A very clean cocktail, which I highly appreciate! We ordered the Chef's Salad Wrap with Onion Rings, French Dip with the tomato soup, and the Philly Cheesesteak sandwich with seasonal side of grits. I enjoyed the Chef's Salad Wrap but I would probably be a little more bold next time and get the Cortez or the Reuben. I craved a lighter choice and was more sinful with the over the top delicious onion rings! Wowowow! Hubby enjoyed his soup and French dip and son enjoy his Philly cheesesteak and grits. I would definitely love to revisit and try more of their items.
